Wow! Did not disappoint at all, the food was delicious and well worth the visit. I was stuck choosing between 2 dishes and when speaking to the waiter he recommended another and I'm so please he did because it was super yummy. Oh and the cocktails were awesome too!
D. P.
Really delicious authentic Indian food. Absolutely lazeez. Would definitely recommend it to all. Protein was cooked perfectly.

Look, it is what it is - a fine dining Indian restaurant.
Would I say its the best Indian in Birmingham, no, not even anywhere close but the food was nice. Tasty, good portions and the staff very friendly and attentive.
I'm not sure it's worthy of 'Best Indian in the West Midlands' awards, as we've had much better (for a fraction of the cost) but it is pretty good.
The restaurant is decorated beautifully, and it's got a great vibe and atmosphere to it, and like I said the waiters are very friendly and attentive.
Not worth the price though - and be aware, they charge for everything individually (down to the Water and Poppadoms.)
R. X.
We really enjoyed it here. Not only was the service 5 star, but the food and vibes and drinks were amazing 👌👌 if your pakistani/indian, you can ask for desi style haandi and they will do just that and it tastes amazing. Will definitely be coming here again. Really made our night perfect, especially after experiencing bad restaurants elsewhere recently. Thank you!

Fantastic food and friendly, attentive service. Will definitely go back.

Arguably the best Indian food in and around Broad St but that's just my opinion. That said you will pay top dollar, a meal for two can cost anywhere between £50 - £100 but it's worth it if you can afford it.
My only gripe is that I wish there was a dish description on the menu, however the waiter can always assist - if they know.
S. K.
The service was second to none and the food and drinks were out of this world. After having to walk down a windy Broad Street it was so lovely to be greeted by the owner of the restaurant who I have to say was an extremely charming gentleman. My partner Tony and I had an amazing evening and look forward to returning in the near future .
R. G.
Oh yes, superb, not cheap, but a lovely treat.

We went to the Pushkar restaurant it was more than months ago we love 💓 food butthe service was not good other things they have not a good manner.
The service charge is very very high I haven’t seen like t
Do better and get the full star ⭐️
Thank you

The fact this is an award winning restaurant in Birmingham tells you everything you need to know about Birmingham. The food was good but not in my top 1000 meals. Portion size small, i left hungry. Service was OK: slow, unattentive, not shown to table. Music ridiculously loud and base heavy, i couldnt hear the person next to me let alone the table. Overpriced, not suitable for special occasion.

Dined here many times over the years. Quality Indian fine dining & experience. Nice location, nice atmosphere particularly on a weekday evening where you can sometimes attend when it can be quiet & you get more of a relaxed vibe. The food is good. I usually order Pushkar panorama as a appetiser & saag paneer or Punjabi chole as a main. Also if you don’t drink alcohol they have a nice range of mocktails to choose from.
As far as parking goes, You can park in jury’s inn which is located directly behind the restaurant. Overall Good quality food. Top class service. Good location & atmosphere.
J. B.
It's fair to say, the fact that I've been here 3 times, says I like it. I'm not one for expensive restaurants, so this wouldn't normally be somewhere I eat. But sometimes, as they say, you get what you pay for... So, at approx £50 a head, not only is this one of the more expensive restaurants I've been to, but it's also one of the nicest in terms of taste, decor, and quality. To add to that, the service and speed of service has ALWAYS been excellent. Long-story-short... I love it and you have to eat here (trust me!!!)
D. C.
The best service, delivered by serving staff member Sadiq, that I've experienced for a long time: perceptive, timely, tailored, professional, courteous & friendly.
Pushkar offers some of the best examples of British Indian dishes in Birmingham in bright, spacious, exuberant surroundings.
N.
Fantastic food and impeccable service as has always come to be expected from the team at Pushkar.
Came here for our Christmas meal and we were not disappointed!
The cocktails and drink menu are also not too shabby, make sure to give a try.
K. U.
Stylish, light Indian restaurant serving traditional flavours with a modern twist.
The food was great, staff attentive without being over the top and the cocktails were very dangerously tasty, and reasonably priced.
S. H.
Visiting Birmingham and seeing the awards won by Pushkar, thought we would try it. Clear winners by furlongs, the best meal and service we’ve experienced. Thoroughly recommend!
N. M.
What better than to visit a restaurant that serves excellent food, by professional attentive staff. I loved the restaurant ambiance and strongly believe that it deserves 5 stars.
B. D.
Had birthday dinner there. Great food, beautiful place and amazing staff. Best moctails ever had.
A. J.
Nicely laid out Indian restaurant in the heart of Birmingham city.
We got a selection of starters that were absolutely delicious and some of the most well presented and unique Indian starters I have ever eaten. Very much impressed with the creativity used for the starters along with the flavours.
For the mains we got a selection of curries that were also very tasty indeed, the main let down and the reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 were the size of the main dishes which were quite small and could have been a little larger. If the option was available I would have given this place 4.5 stars respectively.
Overall very decent restaurant with a nice bar too.

I come to Birmingham for work every month or so and there are some nice places to eat but Pushkar was a surprise. The staff are lovely, very attentive and there are loads of them floating around so while you are never harassed you are never more than a few moments from getting what you need. The atmosphere is gorgeous, very clean and elegant and dispite this high standard the price is extremely reasonable, you can comfortably eat for less than 30 pounds per person plus wine. I couldn't be happier, will be back and will most certainly be recommending it
A. L.
Very nice, clean and inviting restaurant.
Party of six sat with no problems and the staff were all welcoming and polite.
I had the MURGH MAKHANI (Chicken tikka slow cooked in a subtle creamy tomato and cashew nut sauce flavoured with dried fenugreek leaves, ginger and honey), which was fantastic. One of our party asked for an off menu item which was duly catered for.
Highly recommended if in Birmingham.
F. F.
came here for my birthday meal. The customer service was incredible, staff were so polite and informative, ready to answer all questions, so welcoming and friendly. The food was great, inviting atmosphere and pretty interior. Definitely recommend.
I. O.
Lovely atmosphere, friendly and helpful staffs. Went with colleagues. Will take my kids there.
A. M.
As others have mentioned this is not your run of the mill Indian restaurant. Food was quality, keema nan was probably the best one I've ever had. On this basis we absolutely expected to pay more and prices were clear on the menu...or so I thought. We were asked if we would like water which we said yes so a bottle of water is what we got, this was added to the bill as £3.50 . Plus when the bill came a service charge of 12.5% was added which i couldn't see was mentioned anywhere on the menu. In both cases they should really be courteous and tell you or it should be explicit on the menu about potential extra charges and not just add them on at the end. If I'd have known water was £3.50 I wouldn't have had any, most places its free, with the service charge that's almost £4! Its just the decent thing to do to be clear and up front about this. Unfortunately this has put me off going again, otherwise it was a good experience eating quality food.
S. N.
Had an evening meal here last week with three other people. Not your typical Indian menu, but the food was stunning. The inside is upmarket and modern and the staff are knowledgable and provide excellent service. I had the butter chicken dish and they prepared it a bit hotter for me 🌶🌶🌶A great place.
S. G.
Delicious food, excellent service and exquisite surroundings. All in all, a superb dining experience
P. J.
We held my sister's wedding reception in the Lotus Room two weeks ago.
During the planning stage, there was good communication throughout and were helpful in making adjustments to the menu and meeting our guests’ dietary requirements.
On the day, Sadiq was extremely helpful. He went out of his way to chase another of our suppliers who was late in delivering a cake to the restaurant. Due to the delay, we had to change the timings on when the courses were going to be served and the team were more than happy to accommodate even though it was a busy Saturday night in the restaurant.
The food was incredible - the starters were delicious, particularly the Vermicelli Williams, there was a great variety in the mains and the team served up the cake along with the dessert. Kids also had their own food which went down well too.
The staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and provided exceptional service to all our guests.
We would recommend Puskhar’s for hosting a stress-free event.
J.
Amazing food, great drinks but service a little slow. However, this didn't take away from a great evening. We were seated quickly in a packed restaurant and served amazing cocktails promptly. Food could have come quicker but as I said, the place was very busy so that is excusable, let alone the quality and taste of the food being amazing! I think this place is a little more upmarket than it let's on... definitely a posh place! Would happily visit again.
J. P.
Would not have known this place existed had it not been for the Birmingham Cocktail Weekend. We were warmly greeted as we entered the restaurant and the signature cocktail was served by a barman who seemed to have great pride and joy in what he was doing. As a result we ordered a bar snack of pakoras which were delicious; the chicken was perfectly cooked. The drinks menu seemed reasonably priced with a good selection.
Light and clean contemporary decor. Will look to return one day
A. P.
Welcoming staff even though we hadn't booked.
Very nice food.
H. S.
Awesome food and service. Unique flavors to the food and extensive menu
J. M.
Wow, what a fabulous experience from start to finish. Thank you for a very memorable evening.
R. K.
What an experience. Fantastic food absolutely top quality. We spend a week in Birmingham with work and when back to these guys what can I say, the service is 6 stars not 5. What an experience thank you and keep up the great work we will be back
G. A.
Very delicious food! Best curry in my life!
G. B.
Really good food and nice service. The Korma isn't too sweet. A bit pricy.
R. K.
Without doubt the best curry I have ever eaten and I have had a few from all over the world. Staff were polite and professional and we felt very very safe. It was our 15th wedding anniversary and we will definitely be back soon. Please dont let the current Covid situation and the closing of broad Street put you off coming here, I think they are trying super hard to make this the best dining experience and also there's a genuine effort to please customers. Food is honest and reminds me of the flavours an Indian friends mum used to make when I visited. Price wise I have no idea why some reviews say it's expensive. We had a shared crab cakes starter followed by Goa fish and paneer veg main with pilau rice and roti and Peshawar Nan. A gorgeous prosecco (can you confirm what it was if reading?) to drink. The bill all in was just under £100 for the two of us. A great price for the food and dining experience. Forget the overbooked places, make an effort and come here and gives these guys a try.
A. S.
We’ve just had such a great meal at Pushkar. The service was spot on; professional and friendly. My wife and I felt really well looked after and Covid safety procedures were well planned and implemented. The food was beautifully put together- Definitely up there with our favourite curry mile and brick lane experiences. The waiters accommodated our messy two year old daughter really well, which is a big plus. Recommended.
C. L.
Great place, lovely food good wine reasonably priced
A. S.
Great to location, nice people, delicious food. We enjoyed our special day in Pushkar.
T. A.
Delicious food, customer service was 10/10 and the food was nicely presented. Will highly recommend.
M. S.
Visited on a recommendation and we had an excellent meal. The menu is interesting (mixed tandoori platter as a starter, Kadai chicken, Goan fish curry are recommended as a result of our visit) and the service on a busy night was very good. Special mention to Sadiq in this regard.
m. h.
Been here twice.... food made my balls shrink.... really good!
R.
Food was amazing and made the night extra special. Really went all out for us.
T. E. (.
Lovely, tasty food, great service and recommendations from front of house staff on the menu. Would visit again next time I stay in Birmingham!
K.
A good, but expensive, experience. For a family of four, you can expect a bill of around £100.
The money is frivolously spent; the restaurant looks incredible. I suspect that they grow some of their own herbs -- my mojito came with an exquisite slice of mint that seems too big to be store bought. In terms of your customer experience, Pushkar does it well.
The food is good, but not more than "good". For a restaurant this costly, I want something different on the plate that I'll remember. A twist, a surprise, anything that'll distinguish this restaurant from others that are just "good".
A. M.
This is not a run of the mill Indian restaurant. The menu is more varied than most typical Indian restaurants. When we ate here during a stay in Birmingham, we found the staff were happy to advise us on what we might like to order. The food we had was delicious, beautifully served.
E. A.
The food was so delicious, I went there for my 23rd with a group of friends and we all had such an amazing time. The service was excellent too
Y. S.
We loved the food. It was super delicious 😋. Service was also excellent. Definitely worth awarding. If it wasn't this expensive, we would go there more often.
E.
Didn't know what to expect when coming here, had heard it was very good but overpriced. And the rumours were right but if everything is on point then price isn't too much of an issue, especially as I wasn't paying. The food was delicious, the service was top notch, as was the presentation, cocktails were bang on as well.
N. M.
Beautiful Ambience, Good Food and Lovely Staff.
N. E.
Amazing food, sooooooo tasty. Staff really friendly. Extremely clean. Social distancing measures out in place. Overall would highly recommend! Thank you for an excellent eating out experience.
J. H.
Excellent food, but you will be charged for absolutely everything. Poppadoms are extra, water is extra, it's all added on.
I couldn't relax here. It's a very open spaced restaurant, where ever you sit you'll be overlooked. Oddly, the chairs are also small and restrictive, it made for an uncomfortable meal.
Get past all this though and the food is superb, and be honest, that's why you're here.
R. G.
Amazing absolutely amazing 👏 😍 great place for dates, if you fancy indian food the set up is great, The smell, the aroma from the kitchen, makes you wanna enjoy the ambiance even more went there lastnight and i have to say keep up the good work guys 👏 👏 👏

Good food, lovely staff and nice atmosphere. I like go back
C. N.
Great food, great customer experience, high hygiene standards. I’ve become a huge fan of them.
Before the pandemic I use to visit the place regularly. The staff is very friendly and always willing to accommodate you.
Since they have reopened I order from Pushkar regularly and they never let me down. I’d specifically recommend the Murgh Makhani & Murgh Tikka Masala, which I love.
J. T.
Had a fantastic curry here. Tasted divine and the staff were so attentive. Its rate to have a city where you feel the tastes progress as you eat.. such a wonderful experience. They grow is to choose a wine which would complement our meal and we were not disappointed. We will certainly be back. Best I've had in Birmingham
M. D.
Fantastic food along with exceptional service. Great staff who went out of their way to help us chose the right food for everyone at the table. Also very friendly from beginning to end. Overall a great experience that I feel is quite rare and should be highlighted.
R. L.
The staff were very professional and welcoming, they knew their menu well and could advise well on suggestions. The whole feel and placing, menu and restaurant gave the night a really nice feel.
To start we had poppadoms with the usual sauces, then starter we had kofta, very nice and flavourful.
The mains were lamb based and extremely tasteful, the lamb rogan josh my girlfriend had was a little disappointing, the sauce wasn't quite what we'd expect, but mine was very nice.
Overall very nice and would recommend it
R. H.
Searched google for "Good Indian restaurants near me" while in the Mailbox and Pushkar popped up. We walked in from the street and had not booked - the maitre d looked after us and found us a table in around ten minutes - amazing as the place was packed! The young waiter was very helpful and friendly without being gushingly so. We weren't very adventurous with the food as we had two teenagers with us, but what we had was delicious and none was left by the end. In conclusion - great atmosphere, good staff, gorgeous food. Well recommended :-)
J. S. J.
The food cannot be faulted - the taste is unique to Pushkar and it is presented so beautifully. The service and atmosphere is excellent but the restaurant can get very busy and noisey. It is also expensive - but you won't feel guilty because the food and the experience was worth it. I personally didn't like the location - especially on a Friday or Saturday night, you will walk out of the restaurant having enjoyed a nice meal to be greeted by a street full of drunk and rowdy party goers.
T. L.
Such an amazing experience all round, there’s nothing not to like. My husband who was brought up on Indian food is very critical and it was lovely to enjoy a meal and NOT to hear any criticism. Fine dining at very reasonable prices.
Staff are lovely and attentive.
Can’t wait to go back and introduce our friends.
Well done Pushkar.
A. M.
Nice place and good food. Same food taste always we have before. Nice friendly people very good atmosphere we loved this place and food good luck and God bless 👍
S. H.
Nice food but felt it was average, it was over priced for the portion size. Also a large charge of 12.5% added to the bill without asking. Certainly wont be going again.
D. Y. Q.
Delicious and staff was very friendly
C. H.
Great food.excellent service and staff.will b going again.
J. D.
Beautiful restaurant aesthetically excellent service from the staff starters were amazing but I beg to differ when it came to the mains I found that the dressings and flavours for all dishes tasted the same. I ordered vegetable koftas which were lukewarm inside and I took a risk ate them without complaining. I was disappointed with the food as I don’t feel the mains had the wow factor that you would expect from a restaurant of this calibre. The next day I had tummy pain all night with an upset tummy had to keep going to the toilet and had to take a day off work so not a good end to a birthday especially when you pay over £200 for your meal for a family of five.
I would not recommend
K. D. S. R.
1st time visit for a 60th birthday, the staff are really friendly and look after ur needs very well.
Kept the birthday cake to one side till needed.
Let us do some party poppers and cleaned up before the food came in.
Heated up my grandsons milk towards the end as an extra service.
Explained the food and nature of the spice to help understand what dish to have.
We had a wide variety of dishes and all the food was cooked to perfection.
The portions are just right not too big or small.
All in all a very pleasant experience with a team that are quite willing to bend over backwards to ensure you leave with a smile
D. B. B.
Great Indian food & special cocktails! try the carrot cake & the dessert.
T. E.
Good experience overall. Good ambience and service. Fine dining.
N. R.
we celebrated my fathers 70th and we thoroughly enjoyed the food and hospitality. the food was authentic and the staff was very friendly. Overall a great experience . my friends and family who attended the dinner carried the same views...thumbs up
Q. B.
The quality of Indian dishes was outstanding. The 4 of us eat tapas style with a tandoori platter followed by 4 individual mains to all choose from. Ranging from meat, fish and veggie. In each case you could fully taste both the main element and the spice, superbly.
Not the cheapest restaurant in it class, but without doubt it’s in the premier league, not the norm.
S. T.
Great food. Very helpful staff. Halal chicken. Many of the high street Indian restaurants have the same taste in all the dishes but Pushkar was different. Good authentic taste.
Went there with a large group of colleagues. Enjoyed the quick and friendly service.
A. G.
Found this on tripadvisor. Booked ahead as was Saturday night. They have a very weird system of presenting the menus in a jewellery style box. There are 3 menus cocktsils, drinks and food. I had to ask for the food menu as my box only had cocktails and 2 drinks menus in it so impact was lost on me! Food is excellent but much spucier than we are used to. Ordered chicken dish that wasn't marked as containing hot spices but it was too hot for me. Some of the poppadoms were also too hot for me to enjoy. Shame. Nice place otherwise although by far the most expensive Indian restaurant I've ever eaten at. Good choice for a special occasion.
K. J.
A scenic journey through Pushkar on a Tuesday night.
Verdict: Good food in a quiet, yet now slightly dated venue.
Décor: 6/10
Food: 6/10
Service: 8/10
Overall: 6/10
Background:
Pushkar opened around 10 years ago on Broad Street in Birmingham. It was proprietor Rai Singh's first endeavour into fine dining (his second being Praza, see our other post for that review), serving traditional Indian dishes with a creative flair.
Food & Drink:
We chose the "Vermicelli Williams" and "Dahi Puri Chaat" to start, with the "Paneer Makhani" as a main, and "Vegetable Korma" and Kofta dishes as sides, with Butter Naan to accompany, all to share. We opted for a "Masala Indian Chai" and "Hot Chocolate" in place of desserts. Having visited the restaurant several times before since it opened, the food has always been of a high standard, as it was this time, however other establishments with a similar proposition have opened in Birmingham since and it feels like Pushkar has been left behind somewhat.
Service:
We had originally booked to visit another restaurant in Brindley Place the night we visited, however they phoned to cancel last minute because of a gas outage. Pushkar kindly offered a table on a walk-in basis therefore; the restaurant was quite quiet for the evening that we spent there (Tuesday). Service was prompt and polite, and very efficient; certainly we did not feel that we were left wanting of anything.
Decor:
Pushkar was originally decorated with a luxurious fine-dining vibe using fine leathers, linens and plush furnishings. The restaurant hasn't been refitted since 2009 however and it is starting to look a little dated and tired. Further, the toilet facilities are shared with "Jury's Inn" (next door) and are somewhat unfitting of the decor style adopted throughout the main restaurant.
Timing:
We arrived at about 6:15pm and stayed until around 10:30pm. This was plenty to finish all courses ordered, and we were allowed to stay for as long as we wished without feeling rushed.
N. S.
The restaurant is upmarket and quite fancy. The menu and choices are good. However, the food did good, not great - which is what I was expecting. I had the anglo-Indian duck roast with naans. Spice levels were ok. But something seemed amiss. Would want to go again sometime to try more of their stuff.
A. W.
Best Indian food across the globe. Seriously this place is as perfect as can be. Spent quite a few large group dinners here and was spoiled each time by the owner and staff. Fantastic place. Saturday night gets a little crazy outside and Pushkar keeps it classy and real.
S.
Came here for my birthday, interior is immaculate. My table had rose petals scattered over - which was nice of them, they also gave me a birthday card. Service was attentive and quick. Food was decent, and not something I would say is 'extraordinary' - considering the prices ae quite high. Nevertheless I would come back here with friends simply for the nice atmosphere and décor.
G. M.
The location and food are nice however I've been there at least in 2 occasions and despite asking for not hot options and ordering what they had recommended, I always had something very hot (as confirmed by my Indian friends who brought me there). I'm sure that, at least, they could have avoided putting the fresh chilli on top of the plate.
L. A.
Booked a table for a Saturday evening. Place was pretty empty when we arrived but we got seated in a nice sunny corner. Waiters and waitresses were extremely helpful and the food was top notch. Only downside is that it's a bit pricey, but you definitely get what you pay for. Highly recommend the tandoori fried king prawns and the Pina coladas.
F. A.
Visited a while ago and forgot to review so things may have changed. It had great food, service, and a nice atmosphere. It was pricey compared to what I am used to but a indulgent treat.
M. P.
Very well decorated Restaurant, excellent service, very nice food, but obviously pricey due to its standards. Family of four having dinner and drinks could end up over £120 easily. Even Paani would cost £3.50..but as a fathers day treat it was great.
P. L.
Lovely tasty food. Buzzing atmosphere. Medium to high price. Not so spicy food even though we asked for Madras to vindaloo heat. Thats the reason why marked down 1 star. Would recommend.
P. V.
Nice restaurant however dont want to say too much as its a personal opinion and im sure its not the case everytime. Food was ok not much difference in taste of the different dishes we ordered and it came out cold! presentation wasnt very good may have just been a bad day for the staff on that day.
S. S.
Fantastic food and service. Not your typical Birmingham Indian restaurant. Food that I've never even heard of. We ordered a little bit of most starters and a few mains.
Out of this world!! Absolutely amazing food experience.
I would definitely say it's a 5star Indian restaurant. Never ever to be mistaken as a "curry house"
I.
The food is good, the place is fancy and has a nice fancy atmosphere, just here to warn you that a jug of coke or other juice will cost you £10, so come with your wallets full if you want soft drinks. Today we bought £70 drinks that would usually come to a tenner at most in a normal shop, you’ve been warned
p. t.
Great food, great service and always a wonderful welcome. If you are in Birmingham and want an authentic Indian meal with a luxury twist this is the place to go. Cannot recommend enough.
K. S.
Definitely a fine dining place to recommend to everyone in Bitmingham!
Visited few times and everytime was happy, whatever the food or service. The tall young guy was very friendly and nice service I can’t remember his name unfortunately but my wife and myself like him.
The cream butter scollop and curry chicken is my favorite. My wife like the salmon
R. D.
A lively atmosphere for sure - as one would expect based on its location, a good effort across all the various dishes which would give no cause to complain. Certainly worth a visit if you have never been before.
P. S.
Very delicious Indian food and an impressive service of the tenders! Very much recommended!
B. B.
The starters were really great, but the main course was lacking slightly. The menu didn't seem to be as full as other restaurants I have visited. Prices didn't reflect the standard of the food. The venue itself looks really stylist but the food doesn't match.
J. R.
With the family coming into town, and it being my parent's 40th anniversary, we wanted to go somewhere nice. The staff were attentive, polite, amenable and the food was great. They also made a big fuss with my parent's anniversary.
It's not cheap, but it's worth it. Highly recommended.
K. L.
One of best Indian restaurants. Food well cooked and more authentic than your average Indian. Service can be slow at busy times but plenty of good cocktails to keep you occupied. Booking is advisable as gets busy.
E. L.
seems to me to be a nice establishment however, I wasn't allowed to enter because I wasn't dressed appropriately . I was wearing a pair of dress legs in a nice button up shirt but, because the Airlines misplaced one of my two bags I didn't have the appropriate shoes and was forced to wear what amounted to tennis shoes . They stopped me at the entrance refused my entry and I was extremely disappointed... if you do choose this facility to attend I would phone ahead 2 obtain the appropriate dress wear for that particular evening . I was extremely upset the way I was treated by the staff upon attempting to enter. Especially since I was an obvious guest in the city and was willing to pay real money just to enjoy the facilities through the course of the evening . It seemed very nice and enjoyable from outside, everybody seems to be having a nice time... At least aside from myself!!!
C. A.
Enjoyed the meal. Lovely Staff and Service, Was sceptical initially based on my experience at other Indian restaurants but this blew my mind away. The food that was recommended to us (My Husband and I) we loved it.
N. S.
Food is amazing here. Definetly up there as one of the best in the midlands
P. G.
Booked a table for one. I was on time, but I had to wait for almost 30 mins to get my table. Funny enough, the table where I sat was available the moment I entered the restaurant but they only asked me to sit after 30 mins.
Ordered food and the food came blazing fast. As other reviews exclaimed, the food is good. I asked for a glass of water and it came after 10 mins which is not really good if you eat spicy food.
Here comes the surprise. I asked for my bill, I got the bill. Food bill was around £27.85 and I was also penalized with a service charge of around £3+. Here is the conversation with the waiter.
Me: Waiter, why are u charging service charge?
Waiter: Don't u like our service?
Me: If I like your service, I'll give you a tip. but don't include tip in the bill.
Waiter: Do u want to change the bill.
Me: Yes please.
The Service Charge they are expecting is more than 10% which is ridiculous. In the bill it's not even mentioned that the service charge is optional.
The food and ambiance(loud but usual) is good but the service is not good. I'll definitely go there again if the service is improved.
V. S.
You can argue about the rating I have given but this may be coz I had very high expectations. A lot of my friends recommended this resturant and I booked the table on my recent visit to Birmingham. Decor and presentation is really nice. Very-very busy in the evenings, the food taste was okay considering the cost. If you are not bothered, then, forget about poppadums they ask to serve as appetiser, complete waste of money. Believe me I know my Rasmalai, one dessert I always order if available, but this time around other than presentation there was nothing nice. That taste was really bland. Do not forget that there is 12.5% discretionary service charge added to the bill, so if you didn't notice that before you made that order be ready to be surprised. It is worth going once because of all the hype around this place but would I go there again? May be not my first choice of preference.

My favourite Indian restaurant now. Brought my girlfriend here for our Anniversary after looking for a more fancy Indian restaurant. The food was amazing and perfectly cooked. Service was great and staff were friendly. Wasn't disappointed with my choice and can't recommend the place enough.
J. F.
One of the best Indian restaurants I've been to. The staff are attentive and friendly, the food's delicious, they offer a lot of interesting dishes that I've not seen anywhere else and they mix a great cocktail! Pushkar's also quite unique in that it's one of the few Indian restaurants where you'll want to try one of their desserts; they offer a selection of Indian-inspired Western desserts that I've never seen anywhere else. If you appreciate a good Indian meal then give it a try!
S. L.
Great food there and it's definitely worthy the price. The best Indian food ever had up till now. Got quite wide range of choice for vegetarians too!
A. D.
In my opinion Pushkar is one of the best Indian restaurants in Birmingham! Stunning atmosphere, great service, delicious cocktails and even better food! Thanks again for the many unforgettable times with you guys!
T. S.
Had a private party for my Aunt's 50th Birthday this Saturday gone and was fantastic! The service was excellent and my kids enjoyed also. Food was great!
A. R.
Pricy, but worth every penny. Our knowledgeable waiter took the order for 16 of us without a notebook in sight and everything was perfect. Food was to die for and it was a new Indian experience for me! (And I eat Indian a lot).
R. Z.
Thanks to the lovely staff, esp one of the ladies I cant remember her name. Food Was sooo lovely & the drinks were fab!
And social distancing measures were Brill.
10/10
M. D.
Wow! Really great food and great service. Loved the flavours and especially the Dahl.
H. R.
Good food, expensive for what you get, would not be my first choice in the future. Not really authentic Indian. Sauce for fish curry was the same as the chicken jelfrazi!
Y. G.
If you ever go to Birmingham, eat at this restaurant. Honestly the best Indian food I've ever had! Was very posh, very good customer service and the bar is award winning as well. Money well spent!
R. P.
.I love this restraunt and go there so often. That once or twice when the staff were busy .l saw fit to seat some waiting customers on some tables. This main photos just had 4 million views makes pushker a must go and eat here
T. U.
Dropped off here for Parcel i ltd couriers ... easy access via Berkeley st with secure car parking
Spoke to Sushil who was very helpful & accommodating... restaurant itself was very glamorous and up market ... will definitely be dinning here soon ...
Z. L.
Amazing food and drinks, highly recommended.
C. T.
Nice food, but nothing out of the ordinary. Elegant, romantic setting. Quality service.
2 pompapom, chutney, 2 mains, 1 naan, 2 rice. 2 drinks. Service charge. £66 a little over expensive.
A. K.

The diamond among restaurants great staff just WOW .thanx to you all my wife's birthday was great
J. L.
Good curry for a large group only criticism is large table and bench seats against walls make it challenging if anyone wants to get out. Food was tasty, good selection provided for our group.
a. t.
Great food, up scale surroundings. Well stocked bar
G. M.
Brilliant food, would definitely crave the food here over and over again. Will definitely recommend if your looking for a place to hit all your taste buds!
S. K.
I know what authentic Indian food supposed to taste like. This very good much better than some Main stream resturants like Akbars. The staff go above and beyond their responsibility, will definitely visit again
A. B.
Food is very good. Well presented restaurant. Service is excellent. Very busy Saturday night when visiting . Service charge is big though
K. G.
I have visited this place quiet a few times and the consistency of both the food and service surprises me to this date. Keep it up Pushkar. Thanks for a lovely meal again.
M. O.
Really nice food, friendly staff and a good ambience. Is pricey compared to what I’m used to but reasonable for the area and I feel good value considering everything, particularly the main courses.
t. s.
Great presentation of inidan food, as per british taste. For indians from india, ask the waited and the chef shall make it to suit your taste buds. It was best rated indian restaurants for 2015. Quantity of food is less for the price you pay.
S. s.
Excellent food and service , highly recommend ,we had a kebab platter starter for 2 & the masala crab cakes then Murgh Makhani and Rarha Gosht pilau rice and a keema naan washed down with cobra beer very tasty and reasonably priced !
M. G.
Stunning place, great location, friendly staff, cleanness , good drinks menu and indiam food, combining with perfect interior design and calm music...everything makes this place special and unforgettable experience. Good suggestion for a special couple night or only with friends and family. Memorable!!!
m. R.
I will say this place is fantastic well worth the price. The staff are so friendly and welcoming and the food omg I will tell you in would definitely go there again
S. K.
Excellent meal, great service, city centre prices
E. H.
Very friendly staff, very good food. We were expecting a lot and were still surprised. Our two young children were also very happy.
S. S.
Outstanding food. Great atmosphere and service. A great menu. If you are in Birmingham and you are seeking this kind of food then Pushkar is a must try.
s. k.
Very quiet, tiny portions, food too spicy but no choice given, waiters outfits were mish mash, needs silver service training.... but enjoyed the company
G. P.
In town for one night tried this one loved it food great loved the projected fish tank on the entrance floor, service , was better than Jamie Olivers restaurant that we had lunch at earlier. If you are after a good meal you can't go wrong with this one.
G. G.
Best curry house in Birmingham food very good and staff very friendly and service quick
S. L.
The venue is very bling but the food is decidedly average. Given that Birmingham has so many options for Indian cuisine, you can easily get better elsewhere.
B. S.
Worthy of 5 ⭐️ status. Intimate dining with a slight contemporary twist with the food. As with any restaurant close to broad street. Go in the week to avoid the stag crowds and mayhem.
M. J.
Went to a private party food and service was great. Top night 😁
K. G.
Wonderful ambiance good & cocktails delicious.
Toilets spotless.
Staff very polite & helpful
Although a little pricey it was worth the money for the special occasion.
I. M.
Best tandoori lamb chops ever had! Quality food in plush surroundings and quietly efficient staff. You get what you pay for

Expensive and very salty dry curries. Not the best tbh but a nice ambience and attentive staff. Shame that the food is average at best and v expensive.
A. A.
Really, really, really good. Followed the advice of the super friendly waiter and was treated to a delicious meal. Was here for business but could be a great date place.
J. D.
Highly reccomended. Gourmet indian food, amazing flavours and wicked service. Absolutely scrumptious 👍🏼
J. M.
Went on the weekend and tbh it's not as good as it was previously, it's still 'good' but the flavours were lacking and it's high price is no longer justified, seems to now be a case of packing punters in like sardines and hoping no one notices the quality has decreased.
K. J.
A lovely evening and impressive surroundings. Fine dining experience and excellent food. Melt in your mouth chicken
S. B.
Fantastic service and very nice food! Also definitely order one of the many cocktails - with or without alcohol - they are absolutely delicious!
S. H.

Expensive indian food, the quality is ok. Tries to be a little too fancy. Think there is plenty of cheaper places with a more comfortable atmosphere within walking distance.
J.
Very flavoursome food with good service. Some of the decor needs a little attention.
A. E.
Interesting well cooked northern indian food, perhaps a bit pricey, but the maitre d' was very accommodating when we split the bill on a table of 15 mainly paying by cards
