D. H.Amazing burger! Fabulously cooked with the slightest char on the meat which added to the flavour along with the saltiness of the Shropshire blue cheese and the slight sweetness of the candied bacon, added to the fresh salad and soft brioche bun this burger was a triumph . The fries were hot and crispy. The selection of craft ales were perfect additions to the meal.
We called without booking a table so the only downside to our visit was the tall table and bar stools we had to sit at which was a struggle for us oldies - next time we'll be sure to book ahead.

I am a big chicken fan and this place really exceeded expectations.
I found it on Google maps, looked like my kind of thing, was quite a trek mind, totally worth it though.
Don't know where to start, the small chicken plates, the messy fries, fries were all incredible. Sauces were wild, dressing was perfect, everything was so well presented, everything was red hot, everything tasted amazing.
Service was fast and friendly, place is clean and buzzing.
Highly recommended, I can't wait to go back.

C.Overall good experience. The burgers patties were tasty and good sized, but there was a bit too much bread. Fries were good, fairly standard. Not a huge amount of variety overall on the menu, but everything was tasty. Might be a rotating menu, but not sure about it. We had a beer called Potion which was really good. So, burger + fries/side + pint came down to £20 per person. A bit more expensive than your usual places, but it was good value.
T.The burger was really nice and juicy. I also really liked the vibes of the established. My only gripe was that the buffalo fries were really salty.

Went last night and enjoyed the veg special, ‘cauliflower bombs’, too. Staff were honest about a friend’s allergy and did not want to risk serving her food they could have a reaction to, putting safety before sales. Can’t wait to come back again!

L. C.The Meat Shack have have always done some of the best burgers in the city. Reopening after lockdown, they've managed somehow to improve (didn't think it was possible). The burgers are as great as always, but special shout out to the chicken bomb bites, which have a really juicy meat encased in such a superbly good seasoning coating. Also great to see them supporting Birmingham-based breweries on the bar too.
B.Love this place. Never disappoints. Great burgers and fries and amazing side dishes. Nice selection of local craft beers would like more but still nice to have. No kids menu which is a shame my 5yo couldn't eat it all. Would always recommend if you want one of the best burgers in Brum.

If you want a proper burger then this is the place to go. Have been a regular here since it opened and have never once had an issue - other than trying to decide on which burger to have!
The main menu is delicious, with a particular favourite being the Dutch Piggy (with a side of spicy shack attack fries & the incredible halloumi fries).
As good as the regular menu is, don't ignore any specials that are on offer. You won't be disappointed. Treating myself to the 'Santa Shack' special is now part of my Christmas tradition list!
Finally, the whole team at The Meat Shack are as just as good as the food. Always friendly and welcoming, always serving up their trademark dripping filthy goodness.

R. J.As an American I've gotta say this was the best damn burger I've had in the UK. Ordered the Dutch Piggy for both of us with Buff fries and it was the perfect amount. The burgers were juicy and the brioche buns were perfectly fluffy. They also nailed the buffalo sauce on the buff fries! Totally authentic.
We didn't try much of the beer or wine but they have a decent selection of craft beers on draft.
If you want a great burger and you're in Brum, get down here ASAP.
D. C.What’s the meatiest vegetarian burger I’ve ever tasted? The Meat Shack’s Bella Emberg. The mix of mushroom paired with Dutch Gouda cheese was dripping with filthy goodness.
I love everything about The Meat Shack, in the same way I love OPM. It is a micro Digbeth cultural experience transplanted in the centre of Birmingham’s Chinese Quarter. The mixture of street art, exposed balsa wood and American dining makes for a fast and social food experience.

T. P.Relaxed little place next to China Town, the food is really tasty and the staff are friendly. Great selection of really interesting burgers. Fried gherkins weren’t great.
D. D.Love the vibe in this place, staff were amazing, talking on the same level as you, and always appeared to be loving their jobs.
Food was top notch, looked just the right amount when it was served, but we were all very full after eating it. It looked greasy, but didn't at all have that horrible greasy taste, like the ingredients were good quality and cook very well.
They didn't have any gluten free specific options, but offered to use a bun we have brought in (Note for futute), but we're happy to use salad to cover the filling instead of the bread.
If you like burgers i would fully recommend this place.

A.Absolute filth, of the tastiest kind. No preformed soulless patties here, just proper quality meat, ground up, grilled and served with various extras such as bacon crumbs, black pudding and different cheeses.
Great skin on fries, the biggest onion rings I've ever seen (photo) and the frickles (fried pickles) are essential.
Treat yourself to a Brummie beer too, goes really well and you're supporting 2 local companies at the same time!

O. M.Great food, great service, wait time was the only issue. We were shown to our seat and given menus then our order was taken promptly. Staff were very polite and helpful throughout our visit. We had to wait 30-40 minutes for our food to be brought to the table. However it was worth the wait, I ordered a double burger and halloumi fries, both were just as great as each other. Really tasty burger bursting with toppings. The halloumi fries were fried perfectly and topped with an awesome sauce. I'd definitely go again but make sure I had plenty of time to wait for food.

Good portion size but when it's not something that excites you, it's not a strong win. Staff seemed very distracted considering it wasn't that busy such as when we were ordering drinks and the guy walked off before we could finish the order. Asked for some mayo too but this never arrived as other customers were served and I guess they just forgot. Burgers were nice but like I said, nothing special. Fries, again nothing special. Just normal fries with a squirt of flavoured sauce over them.

The fries are just your normal standard fries and the burger was very juicy, seasoned well and overall very good. I went for the Dutch Piggy, essentially a bacon cheeseburger but with two kinds of cheese; American and Dutch Gouda and chipotle mayo. Worth a visit if you are in the area!

I. A.One of the best burger joints in Birmingham hands down! Always have the RnB burger doubled up, what you get is usually quite juicy, well seasoned and darn right delicious. They also do different styles of of fries whether you want something more plain or loaded. Great price too as it is inbetween high street and takeaway. I would recommend this place to all beef burger lovers

On our way to the O2 academy we saw these place and figured “aaah let’s get a burger”... oh what a burger. I had the hot chicken burger. When I saw it I thought “no way this is hot”. It was. Considering the place is in it's first week the service and vibe are already great and better than a lot of established places in Birmingham. Can't wait to return.

Melted cheese with high quality beef and glazed bacon in a burger that melts in your mouth, chips to die for with the sauce to match and good pricing as well. B. D.Hit usually but had a miss - been 4 times, first 3 times was excellent service and food. Must of been having a bit of a mare last time (Friday 30th November) because food took 1.5 hours to come and had to take our order twice not to mention a good 15/20 minute wait to get our drinks orders in when we arrived. Burgers were fine when they did arrive, chips okay - little bit cold.
Unfortunately the ten percent discount we were offered had to be agreed properly second time around because didn’t include drinks (we settled into a few beers during the lengthy wait).
Mistakes happen - we can forgive and forget and we will return we just won’t be rushing back.
As I said it’s usally great! Not sure what happened but hopefully nothing that can’t be solved.

Great food, interesting and different menu items. There looked to be a number of things you'd want to try over a number of visits. Alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages available.
Our orders did inexplicablely take around 40 minutes to come however. The restaurant was empty, apart from another group of six and perhaps two couples. Quite a let down, and when you're on your hours lunch break not great.
