We had a tasty, delicious dinner. You can choose from a really rich menu, the meat is just amazing. I loved the salad bar idea, even I got lot of food on my plate so I wasn't really able to enjoy all the choice available at the salad bar :) the cheesecake was delicious. And overall the bill was not that expensive. Also, people working here are simply the best, really really kind and always smiling. We really enjoyed our dinner here! That evening was quite cold outside, I can't wait to come to Durley Inn again in summer, to enjoy good food and sunny weather!

I booked a table for two here about half an hour before arriving. My expectations of a Harvester are never especially high. The food is generally of an acceptable quality and the service can be hit or miss. On this occasion, however - my first visit to the Durley Inn - I was very pleasantly surprised. It was clear that at 4.30pm (so long after lunch and with a while to go until dinner), there wasn’t a massive staff presence. Staff were rushed off their feet whilst attending to so many customers but they still delivered a very friendly and attentive service. Our server, Emilia, was brilliant. Despite a busy restaurant, she made the time to chat, recommend dishes and knew the menu well. Little things in a restaurant can make the world of difference - we received an apology for the short time taken to reach us and we were asked about the enjoyment of our meals. The salad bar was well stocked and fresh and the portion size was enormous too. The bread rolls weren’t the best - tasting like they’d been there a while - so after one bite, I was done. The main meals were good. Again, a good portion size and the Simply Chicken could be doubled up for just £1.99 so very reasonable. My choice was the half chicken with chips, corn and gravy. The chicken was great, again tasted very fresh, and it was very filling too. I had started on the meal by the time I took the photograph - it wasn’t delivered looking so sparse! So great service and probably the best setting for a Harvester as well, sitting right on the beach, with lovely views over the water and towards the setting sun.

Delicious! Went with the wife to get dinner together as she was starving! She got the spit roast chicken, and I got the dirty burger! That thing was HUGE! Service was very fast, and was about 4mins from walking in to us ordering...wow!! Got the refill option for the drinks, and the usual salad sides with bread buns etc...cant help yourself at the salad bar but just ask what you want and they will serve you! Clean, tidy and very helpful, been a while since we last went to a harvester? But will be back soon! Disabled friendly and plenty of room to manoeuvre around! Delicious! 5*

Having been before and know this place gets busy we booked for Sunday tea time. 4.45pm we were rushing as we had a gig to get to by 6ish at the BIC. Service was quick, food was cooked to order but still quick and great food, due to Covid the staff now put your salad into dishes for you. (great way to keep people safe). We left just after 6 full up and knew the walk to venue would do us good.

The food was wonderful. Hot and fresh. The only reason they lost some stars is because the person serving us didn't have a clue what he was doing. He wasn't making notes of the orders, he didnt have a pad round his neck. He was trying memorising orders and going to the till. You didn't get all what you ordered. I'm not sure if he was new but that's not very good training in my opinion. They deducted service charge for this in there defence. We waited 45 mins for any food to come out. It was very busy but the fact this guy was struggling with the job didn't help. We enjoyed the food in the end. We tried to go a few days previously but was so busy we got turnt away. This time we booked. If you really want to eat here it's best to book. Lovely location on the beach.

A great location, overlooking Durley Chine beach. Staff were very accommodating especially as we were a large group. Chloe took care of us, but all the staff were very friendly, it's a shame that when you pay a gratuity there is no way for it to be shared by all the staff at the restaurant as I am sure everyone contributes to a good meal. Food as expected for a Harvester, plentiful portions, unlimited self serve salad and a good vibe. Tables and utensil could be cleaner but otherwise a nice spot for a good meal.

Lovely Harvester food went twice on our hols down there. The kicking chicken garlic sauce is gorgeous. The burgers and burger relish is divs.👍🏼 And the salad bar is great. Very very very busy but the service from I think Chloe was great. Will visit again hopefully. .

Had difficulty finding it from Google maps but so glad we ended up walking. It was really busy but the women on the front of house found us a table with fantastic sea view. The help yourself salad was fresh and tasty with a choice of dressings. The main dish Chicken Stack was so tasty. We will definitely be back soon.

If going on a sunny day during the weekend I would make sure you book. I walked here and found the next available table was 4 hours later. I returned a couple of days later instead. Location is brilliant next to the beach so fantastic views if you sit outside. Food was as expected for the 3 course set menu price. We went here for dinner as it is a dog friendly venue and we had our dogs with us! 🐕 🐕 They had plenty of water bowls available for the dogs which was awesome as it was really hot! 💧 🌞 The staff were super friendly and helpful. 🤩 The food was good but the salad bar was really poor and they have staff actually serving the salad to you which feels really uncomfortable and awkward as they don't serve salad as you would! 😒 The other issue was that the salad bar was really lacking salad! NO LETTUCE. NO CARROTS and it was really basic. So disappointing as we chose the place mainly for the salad bowls to accompany our meals. 🥗 Otherwise the food was great, service was excellent and the venue is in a prime position right on the beach! 🤩

Affordable breakfasts with a sea view! Cheaper than the b&b we stayed at just above the pub on the cliffe and better quality with bottomless drinks too! Staff are pleasant and friendly. Just keep in mimd they dont open till 9am so dont rush!

Lovely Harvester. Kim served us and she was lovely and helpful from start to finish. £75 for four of us. Not bad. The food arrived promptly and was hot. The salad was crisp and crunchy and the bread rolls were hot. Toilets were clean as well considering it’s a beach location. Great views from the seating area. Everything on the menu was in stock, car park on site.

Great Harvester Inn Open for breakfast until 11.30 Then open for normal fare until late. Order by app, or from the friendly staff. Good wind protection which is needed on the west beach. Tables clearing very prompt to stop gulls visiting. The serving are huge so you will not be disappointed.

I was disappointed with the limited range of gluten free options and complete lack of gluten free bread rolls. The Harvester chain so really considering adding this to their food supplies. My friends were a little disappointed with the quality of their food. But it was great to see and have the self-serve salad cart again!!

Lovely spot on the beach to be able to eat outside. If only there had been more staff to keep the area clean and tidy. If it was anywhere else in Bournemouth, the restaurant wouldn't be used. Not good Harvester. The outside tables, chairs and service station need serious attention. The high chair was in need of jetwashing!

VERY POPULAR 'Harvester' Restaurant, Pub and Bar / Café. On the beach front. There's a car park BUT this can get full at busy times (sunny days)!! If this is full it IS Worth your while finding another car park on the clifftop and walking down into Durley Chine!! For those of you coming from outside of the area, a "Chine" is a deep cut natural valley down to a beach. Found in Dorset and on The Isle of Wight. Steps down and paths can be steep. Use The Accessible Car Parking spaces if you have a 'Blue Badge'. Level access and easy walking from The Beach Promenade is good way to get to this site. Walk, Cycle, Scooter, mobility scooter or drive to this location.

This place is ok and we had a fairly good meal here. What I might suggest is that you provide the option for some of the burgers to be single rather than double or triple. It seems as though most of them are double by default and there is only the option to go for more (i.e. triple) rather than less. The calories attached to some of these are eye watering so if you could cater for those of us who don't want to size up our wardrobe that would be much appreciated!

We dined as a large family party. The service was a bit chaotic to begin. The door out to the patio was broken and there was a long queue for the salad bar which is no longer self service. It was difficult if you needed to move around. All that being said, everything settled down once our drinks arrived and food orders taken. The dishes came out together, when they were supposed to. The staff all worked really hard and the team leader sorted out any small problems that we had.

the place was heaving but the staff didn't leave you for too long so you never felt like you were waiting. the place was very clean and well looked after. also, the spaces between tables was plentiful which was a blessing. food was very, very nice and the price was very fair too. overall, a really pleasant experience at the durley inn once again. we travelled for a holiday and everytime we come down to westbourne, the durley inn always gets at least one visit from us.

Unfortunately we were traffic diverted at Ringwood, so called ahead to say we would be late and the manager pushed back out table booki g half and hr. Arrived safely at on time. Really love this place. Staff can come across as rude and they are the only place that charges my husband for salad because he has a eating disorder and can only eat sides. Had a wonderful experience at this restaurant. We were served by Lucy and was very helpul. She told us about the offers we can receive after signing up. What a gem! Perfect location right on the beach. Warm friendly welcome makes this place seem more like a family pub than a restaurant chain. Seated quickly and waitress attended immediately. Really nice place. Been here a few times to eat and to drink. Nice on the beach location. This place can get really busy. The loaded fries they do are great. Managed to squeeze us in the other day even though they were very busy. Happy to accommodate any allergies you may have too. Good selection of beers and food. Took ages waiting to get a seat at the entrance and the pub was pretty much empty. Then once sat you seemed on the roller coaster of drinks-food-bill-out. It was so fast i couldn't even remember the food. I do remember the menu not being very healthy. Food must have been ok though as i don't remember it being bad in my harvester whirlwind turnstile experience.

I ordered & got a medium rare steak. Scortched on the outside & pink (not red raw) meat elsewhere. Lots of restaurants think that rare means uncooked, which it does not. All the other vegetables were piping hot; so hot I needed an handkerchief to tip them from their containers onto the plate I intended eating them from. I wasn't given a choice of how I wanted my salad prepared. I prefer no sauce. They put Cockinal sauce over it & I've removed one star because of this lack of choice, nonetheless it tasted OK. The restaurant itself was clean. My party were the only people wearing masks: which I was apprehensive about but today very few people wear them: the reason why five millions now have COVID in the UK.

Harvester with a 180' view and friendly staff: 2nd of January visit at 17:30, unfortunately had to ask to be moved due to two families with young children playing around our table, rather than sitting at their own tables... Food was good for the price & have to say that all the staff including "Ty" our second serving operative, where friendly and a credit to the Harvester chain. Though the extractor fan needs a service in the Gents Restaurant Toilets and running out of hand soap in both Male & Female Restaurant Toilets and I'm guessing not having any in stock to replace (did flag it up..) needs to be looked into, especially as pretty much everyone uses the famous Harvester Salad Bar....??

Update 2022.date of visit Saturday 19th March..........We came for a long weekend and once agaun visited the wonderful Harvester at Durley Chine. We were welcomed by Lucy the deputy manager who ensured our party of 7 were all seated together. She was very warm friendly and welcoming and made sure we were all OK throughout our visit. Marcia our waitress did an amazing job with all of our orders and our food came very quickly and was soooooo good. We very much enjoyed our visit again and would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Bournemouth. Beautiful location and staff were so lovely helpful and welcoming. Thankyou so much. We will see you when were next down for a visit.......thankyou Mrs W gallett . Update......... we are back in Bournemouth September and visited Durley Inn 22.9.20... We were a little early for our prebooked timeslot and were kindly advised we could come sit at our table but due to the other guests etc our order may take a little longer. Well it wasnt long at all. Our waitress Gislaine took our drinks order straight away and soon came and took our food order. After visiting the salad bar to collect our served salad our meals were delivered to our table quite promptly. It was all delicious thoroughly enjoyed them. Gislaine was very attentive which was great as she also had other tables to sort. Social distancing procedures being adhered to by the business and staff. Shame some visitors (young ladies !!!!)do not adhere to keeping apart especially queung for the salad. That aside thoroughly enjoyed our visit ........ below is our comment from visit in July ......................................................Our first visit post covid to Harvester. We booked our table in advance. Greeted by lovely young chap who showed us to our table and explained the new procedures and that our salad would be served to us when we go up. There was a small socially distanced queue waiting for the salad but this is to be expected and the staff were great in getting us served as soon as they could safely. Our waitress bought us all drinks as well as our meals with a smile. Everything was great the food the ambience the cleanliness the friendly staff. Highly recommend a visit. We felt totally safe and at ease enjoying a lovely meal out. First since before lockdown. Well done to all. Visited 20.7.20.

My first visit to the Durley Inn, having been to a funeral, and before I drove back to London. I booked my table for 5.15pm and was greeted by two ladies (one younger and one older) and promptly seated. Seems they were the only ones with a lack of enthusiasm as the rest of the team were bright, enthusiastic and helpful. I went up to the salad bar, and was served by a very helpful team member, who filled my bowl with lots of great salad ingredients. My drink arrived and served by a really enthusiastic guy, and my order was taken, and served, by an equally friendly and enthusiastic waitress. Food was decent and it would have been a 5 out of 5 had the welcome not been like a damp squib. I’m not put off by returning as I’m sure during the lighter evenings the sea would be great to watch. During the winter evenings all I heard was the sound of the sea.

Offered me a bread rile when they served up my salad, no longed self service, for obvious reasons. A flatbread came with my meal and I'd ordered double sweet potatoes, so I couldn't finish. Been here twice during my visit to Bournemouth. The location of this restaurant gives you beach views, with a balcony you can sit on if it's a nice day. It is extremely busy on sunny days but I found service was pretty good either way. The food was well presented and came pretty quickly both times. Staff came to check during each meal also that all was ok. Due to Covid, the salad bar is manned by someone now.

It's an ok right on the beach Harvester eatery will usually have a few children eating and how successful that is depends on the parent's. Standard Harvester menu with salad bar with good service and quick turnover, bill on a plate before asking for it, which to me equates "You have eaten your meal now go" so no lingering over your drink. If you are hungry and are there, then give it a go, nice outside seating if weather permits.

Very helpful staff at the Durley Inn. Psrticularly Kim who is really good at what she does very pleasant also.. We have eaten there about 4 or 5 times in the last couple of months. Good choice and quality meals and will go again after lockdown. However one issue is that they seem to have moved backward with covid-19 precautions. Unlike in previous visits you now have to battle your way out through the only door where people are queuing to get in.

This is a Harvester restaurant. We went here for breakfast and dinner on the same day at the Bournemouth airshow. The staff were really friendly, they had no problem doing anything for you and liked to have a laugh, they were working really hard and still polite, lovely food, delivered quickly, great value meals, toilets were clean. We have been here before and I would write the same as this. I would recommend booking a table especially for the evening meal as it's really popular, there was a que when we left.

Used to be my local when I lived darn sauf. It's a lot better service when there's fewer grockles about, but that's par for the course I suppose. The staff really work for their money during the, what we laughingly call summer. The food is standard Harvester fare, so at least you know what you are getting. They aren't going to do Rick Stein out of business, but it's decent food at a reasonable price. Ive eaten there probably over 100 times, so I must like it. Mainly cause the food is reasonable, they sell Stella and you can't beat looking over the sea.

Great location with lots of outside seating, the only shame is the food menu as it seems you cannot order just a small snack such as just a sandwich, it has to be a meal so sandwiches come with chips, so not such a great spot for just a pit stop if you are walking along the beach.

Food was great, some staff were great, some were not and the only issue to concern about is they don't do paper track and trace, only digital. Basically if you don't have a mobile phone with a NHS app, then they will refuse you entry to the restaurant.

Food nice, staff pleasent. Outlook and view is excellent. But just another big restaurant chain that forgets being vegan and vegetarian is a choice being a coeliac is not, if you have an allergy you have to look it up on a separate app! Some other restaurants just put a little symbol next to each food item.

Service was slow, Couldn't deliver full complement of drinks at first request. Took 45 mins to take food order which at best was average. Staff were polite enough but hard to get the service required. Serious decline from previous pre covid visit.

I know there is a staff shortage but we waited 30 minutes before being told we could get out salad and 45 minutes for our meals. I was given the wing mask so had to wait longer.

Friendly staff and great breakfast. Just check whats included on the drinks refills before you order though as fruit juice and fizzy drinks are charged seperately and was not made clear when ordered.

We’ve only ever had breakfast here and it’s been great value for money. The staff are efficient and happy to help with seating large groups and always to hand. The food is cooked nicely and of course the view of the seashore is spectacular. There are toilets / nappy changing area and facilities to warm baby foods. A good place to meet as a family. Parking near by can be expensive but if you don’t mind a walk up and down the cliff paths you can save yourself a £5 by parking in one of the side roads above.

This place was amazing! My eldest son has a severe dairy allergy and when I told our waitress (think her name was Shelbie?? Red hair) she said she did too and told us how the restaurant helps to cut out cross-contamination. My son was so happy to meet someone with his allergy and she was wonderful and a credit to the place. Fantastic food, great beer, brilliant prices. Can’t recommend it enough.

As a Bournemouth resident, I have visited this branch for many years. The setting is gorgeous and the layout of the restaurant is fantastic, as it helps you take in the views. The food here is almost always of good quality but the staff can be variable. Some are absolutely lovely and accommodating, whilst others aren't so friendly. When you're dealt with by the nice staff and it's not too busy, the experience by the windows overlooking the beach is gorgeous.

Visiting from Australia, Second time been here and no speckles hen on tap first time. Second time Took ages to get a table, service was very slow, they were clearly understaffed. Staff were not happy, poppy was quiet cheerful. Soft drinks were terrible from machine, very watery, ran out syrup. On a better note all the food was hot and tasty.

The food at this restaurant was at a good standard, I would return, it was clean and cooked well. However my mains came out extremely quick I wasn't even half way through my salad which make some think it's been pre cooked and it's annoying as you haven't had time to enjoy the salad bar that you are paying for. The service was terrible the staff were rude, borderline sarcastic. Would I return, I think I would as the views at the beach are lovely and has a nice atmosphere and the food was ok... It is only the staff that are holding this restaurant back from reaching a 5 star 🌟 rating in my eyes.

Great place, just ate there and I feel beaten. Reasons I gave this place a 5 stars and why I've always loved harvesters is great service, great portion sizes, free salad bar, good quality fair and very good prices. Where else can you get a 10oz sirloin for £15 and a bottle of red for £13. But it's not all great, if you've tried really good steak, then this stuff is good enough but not the best. Still, the great steak places charge £30+ for similar fair here. Also, pizza hut has a better salad bar, harvesters isn't bad but pizza hut is better quality wise. Otherwise great restaurant with great service and staff!!! Hence the 5 stars.

Nice food and the serving staff were also very pleasant. However, we went at a very busy time during the summer period when there was nice weather and service took a long time and the wrong food was prepared and served the first time, though they corrected this fairly promptly. I gather the 'kitchen were having a hard day', which i guess is understandable. We were there for 2.5 hours for mains and desert, just 2 people dining. Can't help but feeling like more staff could have alleviated the problems slightly. (sorry about the lack of detail the first time, i was in a rush when i posted - i hope our next visit is better too and i'll update this accordingly)
