Absolutely amazing experience! Food was very nice, fresh, well seasoned, beautifully presented, exceptional I would say. My husband has gluten allergy so we are always nervous when dining out. They have GF options marked in the menu (reassuring from the start) and there are loads to choose from. Some dishes can be adapted to be gluten free. Amazing attitude by the staff towards the allergy issues. Checked and double checked with the chef to make sure everything my husband ordered was gluten free and it was! Thank you!

Four of us went for a tapas dinner which was absolutely spot-on! The wine list, cocktail and food menu had lots of choice and the prices were great. The décor is fabulous, and the staff were friendly and attentive. We had a nice table in the window, the order was taken quickly, and the food tasted delicious. We had olives (succulent) and bread as a starter. Then we each picked 2 dishes from the tapas menu. My favourites were the pan-fried chicken livers, Montbru garrotxa ( goats cheese with fig relish) and the crispy sesame chicken with honey & bbq glaze. They also had my current favourite wine on the wine list! Bonus. So after Espresso Martini’s it was a bottle of the delicious Spanish red ‘The Guv’nor’. This tapas restaurant is a must for people living and visiting Bridgend. Loved my meal here. Nice friendly/polite staff. Nice decor/environment and crucially the food was fantastic. Really high quality tapas food. Great quality of ingredients. Nice sized portions vs cost meant that you could pick a good selection of choices. Everything I tried was delicious! Selection of meat, cheese, fish and vegetarian options. Decent drinks menu too! Highly recommended!

Excellent. Tapas meals but large enough that two dishes are enough. That means that you can spend as little as £10 on food or person. Thoroughly professional

The place has a pleasant atmosphere. We ordered a range of dishes between three of us and all were enjoyed, there was good flavour and reasonable portion sizes for tapas. The staff were, on the whole, attentive. We intend on a return visit.

Beautiful Tapas! Highly recommend the pigs cheek, aubergine fries and the lamb meatballs 🤤 Cocktails were perfect! Try the hazelnut espresso martini🍸the sangria 🍹was a hit with the friends I was with too! They even provided a dessert not on the menu - affogato which was a perfect end to the meal! Will definitely be back

My (and my 11yo son’s) favourite restaurant in Bridgend. Can’t fault it - we always try to add something we’ve not tried before with every visit, and are yet to be disappointed. Bacon wrapped Figs and any of the chorizo dishes - you can’t go wrong!

Been to La Cocina twice now, both times I've been incredibly impressed. Had the set menu with starter and 3x main dishes and all but 1 of the dishes are impeccable. The bacon wrapped dates are sweet/smokey/salty, Juicy & Crispy at the same time. The pork cheek is tender to the point of falling apart with the crispy garnish being delicious - the garlic potato puree could do with a bit more substance though. The mushrooms in the creamy sauce are rich and savoury with a great earthy flavour from the mushrooms. Disappointed in the chicken and ham croquettes which were very bland, almost a paste in breadcrumbs. Dessert was okay, but I probably won't bother with if next time I go back. all in all.very happy!

1st time visiting the new location, service, the food was beautifully presented and ever so tasty, top cocktails too, the only thing that let it down was the plastic plants 🪴 everywhere just awful, so easy to keep succulents and more attractive and beneficial for the environment and public..

First thing to say is the food is excellent, we tried 6 of the dishes and all were well presented and tasted great. The baked cheese dishes were particularly memorable. The restaurant was busy and had a nice buzz about it. Only thing that prevents a 5 were a few housekeeping niggles. The menus are in an awful state, battered and dirty, and there was a bit of grime on light shades, tiles missing from bar etc. A shame as the food and drink was top notch.

Randomly stumbled on this place looking for some lunch while passing through, and rather pleasantly surprised compared to what seemed to be rather depressing other options. We were quite underdressed compared to everyone else who was out for a Good Friday meal. Service was a little slow but they were clearly understaffed and busy, so no blame on them. Food was good, with plenty of choice of tapas options as you'd expect.

I have never been one for tapas, however, we had a gift voucher for here as a wedding present. It did not disappoint! They have a good range of dishes to choose from and they're not all fancy stuff that you can't pronounce. Also, the selection of drinks is awesome. Service was fast and they're frequently chucking if you want any more food or drink. Fair to say we will be returning soon!

We were looking for somewhere to eat in Bridgend and came across La Cocina. It very busy and we decided to see if there were any tables available. Luckily we were found a table. We chose a selection of tapas and everyone came out hot and tasted so good. The menu was extensive and I could have happily worked my way through everything (over quite a few days). All the staff were very friendly and helpful. There was a great atmosphere throughout the restaurant. The next time I we are in the area i will definitely be returning.

My friends and I thoroughly enjoyed the food, but unfortunately the same cannot be said for the service. After having to wait 30 minutes for service and another 30 minutes for food, we were rudely given the bill and told that the table was needed. When asked whether we could have dessert, we were told that we would have to be quick, which turned a relaxing evening into a pressurised one. As previously stated, we'd already waited an hour for food, which did not disappoint, but rushing people to eat their food, after making them wait, does not provide a good experience. Also, some staff were not very friendly. Therefore, on the basis of food, the restaurant is excellent. It's a shame that some staff and the service let it down.

Went here tonight with family for the first time. Went in and was shown to the table with a waitress who wasn’t very inviting and didn’t crack a smile once. Then another waitress took our drinks order which then arrived one at a time strangely. I then asked the waitress what’s the best amount and ideas for tapas as we hadn’t been before and didn’t know portion sizes or what was best recommended, the waitress had replied she didn’t know as it was her first night, fair enough bless her but she just left the table, she could’ve asked a more experience member of staff or someone could have come to help her out. Then we had another waitress to actually order who was the most friendly and helpful. We then had a number of different waitresses come to the table to try and take orders that had already been taken so clearly poor communication. The food was really lovely and portion sizes were good, we were 4 people with 10 tapas dishes. Shame about the service and the fact we saw around 5 different members of staff. A lovely place that could do with some real staff structure and organisation to make it a real pleasant experience.

Wonderful tapas selection . I would say very generous portions. Thoroughly enjoyed our meal & the service was good too. Due to having an operation to remove a tumour from my mouth, eating is extremely difficult. My diet is very limited & can only eat very small amounts, so I was very pleased to know I was able to take home what was left as there was quite a bit of it 😊😊 Highly recommend & will definitely be visiting on a regular basis from now on.

Don't always believe the hype. Solid 6/10. Don't get me wrong, it was decent. You kind of expect a certain level of food as the food it's self isn't that difficult to cook. Three breads, olive oil and balsamic vinegar to start.... YUMMM Followed by the chicken liver, lamb meatballs and sweet potato fries..... YUMMMMIER Three puds plate and cheesecake..... WOW! We travelled a long way to eat at La Cocina and we were very pleased with the quality of the ingredients, amazing list of wines, beers and cocktails. The staff are very good. The prices offer great value for money and the atmosphere in the place is great. Easy parking! We are looking forward to visiting La Cocina again very soon.

The first time i went there was for lunch ..i had been prepared for something new and delicious for bridgend ..what a let down ..then yesterday evening one of my friends had booked for 12 of us .group booking ,we all paid the same price and received a surprise feast ,,we had far more than we could eat .a menu to satisfy any taste or diet .veggie ,meat,fish,cheese ,breads,olives oils,vinegar, the only extras we paid was for separate drinks and desserts .very good value for money .good attentive service with a smile and very clean ..complete different experience from the first time .looking forward to our next visit .had a lovely evening all round

Lovely place, and will repeat visit, and recommend it. The tomatoe sauce for the meatballs needs the taste of garlic, and a more rich flavour in general, when I had it it was like tomatoe sauce out of a can. The croquettes filling was under seasoned. Patatas bravas was swimming in sauce, nothing worse than sogy potatoe in (the same sauce as the meatballs) Keep on top of flavour and sort the tomatoe sauce out asap as it spoils what are lovely meatballs. And re evaluate the pot bravas. Don't ushually leave bad reviews, but like to be constructive. Thanks all.
