Absolutely Amazing! One of my favourite places to eat out.

Fair play, me and the wife tried here without booking. The waiter who spotted us took us directly to a table. As soon as I put my menu down I was asked if was ready to order. Service was fantastic. Starter came out within minutes of ordering, the main course was lovely, plentiful and delivered directly after finishing the starter. Despite being full we had dessert and coffee, dessert was delivered promptly and coffee directly after. Pleasant evening, good food and great company. The restaurant was nice and clean, but the noise from other patrons was deafening. Regardless it made the wife happy to be out on a date. Was thrilled at our good fortune getting a place here, food was nicer yet cheaper than wagamama.

Visited with my partner for her birthday with her family and it was very nice. There was something to choose for everyone. The restaurant is quite large, though booking ahead is recommended for large parties. The food was good value for money and the staff were very friendly.

Our first meal out since lockdown begun in March, also our first Chinese since before March, and boy was it worth waiting for! We enjoyed a delicious meal, that was flavoursome, vibrant and everything that we love about the New Garden. This is one of the best Chinese Restaurants you'll ever eat at!😋😜Fantastic food. If you want to take it out of your hands and try different dishes, they have a fantastic All You Can Eat Buffet on a Sunday Lunchtime. I think between 12-3. They are always really busy so I suggest booking to be guaranteed a table. They always have entertainment there for the Chinese New Year every year too. It is very popular for family gatherings such as birthdays, etc. You will enjoy!😜

After looking forward to our first Chinese meal in a few years, myself and three friends were left disappointed tonight, especially after reading such good reviews beforehand. We ordered one of the set meals for four. The food arrived VERY quickly, (almost too quickly) after being seated. Unfortunately this wasn't the case with our drinks. We waited approximately 25 minutes before we enquired if they would be bringing them soon. The waiter we asked ( a man with short Mohican style hair) was less than polite, bordering on rude! Food was hot but bland and lacked flavour with each dish tasting the same. Very disappointed. bordering on rude!

One of the best meals I’ve had in a long time. We ordered the The New Garden Special Set meal and I would highly recommend! So tasty and hot and a variety of delicious dishes. From satay fillet of beef to crispy chicken. On set menu we had about 10 different dishes. All really tasty.

Bit of a concern when family turned up for a surprise 65th birthday meal, staff couldn’t find reservation details but thankfully it was sorted, staff made us all feel very welcome but the orders and service wasn’t very efficient, staff done their best but put us all at a stressful level as drinks took over 30mins to arrive and that was only 2 rounds! We’ve previously had many family occasions at risk restaurant and thoroughly enjoyed but after tonight will unfortunately not be going back especially on the weekend.

Been going here for years and years. Huge menu which includes all the favourites and service from the experienced team of staff is fantastic. Once ordered the food arrives at your table very quickly and is always of a high standard. I've never once had reason to complain or send anything back! Plenty of tables and availability is always good when without a reservation. Fully recommended!

The food was good. The service wasn't the best would love to have ordered some more drinks during our meal and an additional side dish but it wasn't possible because no one payed any attention after we placed our order on arrival. Despite covid guidelines the amount of people with tables with up to 16 people next to each other was a bit concerning. We felt a bit unsafe and couldn't wait to leave.

I haven't been here for 30 years and it hasn't changed one bit. Food was very tasty with a large mixed menu. Only dislike was one of the rib starters. One dish was as normal as you get from all Chinese takeaways and the other not at all as expected. They were small chopped up meat with the bones etc. We all just looked at them, only my husband was brave enough and he said one was enough. Everything else was very nice.

This is a great quality restaurant. Not expensive. Good, fresh food. Staff are not overly friendly, who cares, the grub is great! The restaurant is very nice and clean and the toilets are too. There is a nice atmosphere, especially when the piano player is performing. Pond and fish in the middle of the restaurant are nice too. This place gets very busy at weekends.

Excellent! Probably one of the best sit-down Chinese restaurants in the South Wales area. Been eating here for about 20 years or so and it's always been very good. Had a meal here last night and I'm still full and feeling happy about it! Quality of food is excellent, portion size is very good and the service from (and attitude of) all the staff is superb. The decor and ambience of the place is great... How many restaurants around here have a pond with a bridge over it and a working/playing piano in the middle of them?! Awesome stuff! Not cheap at first glance, but when you consider what you get, I think it's outstanding value for money and a great place to go for a treat or special occasion.

First time I've been here and I wasn't disappointed at all! It was the first day of the Chinese New year celebrations and what a night. The dancing dragons were top class and the comedian was hilarious. Topped off with the singer and disco at the end made for a brilliant all round night. The food was superb and just kept on coming! A friendly welcome and usually very busy so book in advance. The narrow front entrance is very deceptive since further inside this is a large well presented restaurant and likely to have well over 50 tables / 100 seats. Weekends are popular with big table groups but they always have enough staff to be highly attentive and accommodating. Food has always been excellent, good value and decent portion sizes.

The best Chinese restaurant in Wales. The food is beautiful, tasty and rich with flavour it's all cooked to perfection. Great service and friendly staff. The portions are more than enough its surprising how quickly you seem to fill up as you're brought the meal in separate courses you don't realise how much your eating. The atmosphere is great with the fish pond and a live pianist playing all evening it really is a lovely experience. By far the best restaurant to go for a special occasion. Guaranteed a fabulous meal.

Surely the best Chinese in all of Bridgend and surrounding areas! The staff are lovely, the food tastes great, it is well priced, you can sit down or pick up yourself (worth the effort if you're looking for take away and are able to pick up). Venue is lovely, has nice clean toilets and facilities are wheelchair accessible. There's lots of parking nearby, but best get there quick because it goes fast as the restaurant is very popular! Also safety is pretty much guaranteed as they're opposite a police station! Definitely worth a visit if you get a chance, and if you don't then I recommend you engineer one! Oh and don't forget, when you're paying your bill ask for a doggy bag - even though the food is great there's lots of it, often enough for at least another meal!

This is my favourite Chinese I've ever been to. I live in Cardiff and there's nowhere to that has come close to it in terms of yumminess. It has TARDIS like proportions being very unassuming on the outside and huge inside. There's a little pond in the middle with a bridge - they play live piano music of popular songs which is lovely. The staff are friendly and super efficient and will happily put a sparkler in your birthday cake for you! Honey roast spare ribs and crispy seaweed are my personal stand out items.
