Lovely fish and chips cooked while you wait. Very generous portions, excellent quality. Use this place fairly regularly always satisfied. Considering cost of living, supply increases etc, price is not too bad.

Great food, good prices and big portions. Staff are friendly and good service is guaranteed. Probably not the place you would expect to find a fish and chip shop but it works! Park right outside and if you need to wait, you can go back to the car and have it brought out to you! The "plaice" to go....(!)

Very lovely and prompt service. Offered my son a wet wipe as we'd just been for a hair cut. They had no small sausages left so gave my son a jumbo sausage which he was extremely happy with lol.

Food is good but it is getting to be too expensive there. When I order the same order the price ranges from £3.75 to £7.65. I always ask beforehand how much it will be so I can change my mind if they decide to charge whatever they want that day!

Fish and chips are cooked beautifully here. We drive out of Cardiff just to get our fish and chips here, because it's worth the drive for the quality and reasonable price. Don't waste your time with other takeaways, we've tried many around Cardiff and they don't stack up to this place. The fish batter they use is fluffy and delicious, and not overly oily. Chips are really tasty and very more-ish without being stodgy and dry. Good clean cooking oil is used. Thank you for maintaining a high standard. =)

Great Cafe and Fish & chip take away. Chips are tasty and reasonably priced. Fish is also good and probably slightly high in price, but its not extortionate. I have had ready made baguettes here, but i don't think they are all that for the price you pay to be honest. Staff are great, never had an issue with them.

I took my minibus for mot. Thought what shall I do now and remember it was the end of lockdown went over to the cafe, I may even of skipped and ran a bit. IT WAS OPEN. I had the large full breakfast waitress said fried bread or toast (I said both). Beans or tomatoes (I said both). Hash browns or potatoes. (I said both) and and cuppa. Not sure if it's the best breakfast in the World ever. BUT IT WAS ON THAT DAY. P.S. staff were so nice I left a tip. That's not me (I'm very tight).

Phil and his staff work hard and are always polite and friendly. I go in there a lot and have always found them like this. I've also had food delivered which was hot, prompt and yummy. The cod I had the other week would have fed an army and it was white as snow. I like these people! Its only preference but can you crisp the batter more please x

Friendly and good quality food. The Cafe facilities are basic but clean and the eat in menu has a wide selection of established British dishes. So it's far more than a takeaway fish and chip shop. The fish and chips are excellent!

The wife and I popped into the Tasty Plaice tonight for the first time tonight to save cooking and what a pleasant surprise we had. Nice freshly cooked Cod and the chips were just spot on. Crispy and fluffy. Very rare combination these days. I was also pleased to see how clean the eating area was. If you have twins, no worries either as they have 2 baby seats. If this is how they normally are then I can only recommend

Never thought I'd discover a newsagents with a cafe at the back! Social distancing measures in place, no service without a mask. Cafe at the rear is more like a chippy with an English Breakfast & baps option. I ordered Southern Fried chicken goujons & chips, lad brought it out to the car 10 mins later. It was a large tray full of chips with 2 small southern fried chicken strips. Very salty and the whole thing tasted odd, maybe something to do with the cooking oil. Overall dissatisfied but the M&M cookie was nice.

Awesome fish and chips. The staff are very friendly and there's plenty of parking. There are no stairs to negotiate which means that I could visit here using my wheelchair if need be. 👍

It’s a nice functional place for a good breakfast. Not the place to go if you’re dieting, but for a cooked breakfast, chips, sausages, pies, baguettes, this is a good choice. The newsagent part is pretty good I guess, but buy your food fresh, not prepacked from the chilled cabinet.
