Very warm and welcoming dining room. The gentleman who served us was very nice. The mixed kebab was delicious, as was the rice and salad. Tasty tzatziki. Great place overall.

Really good atmosphere and staff helpful and friendly. Found food a bit disappointing. Starters were better especially the halloumi. For main I had chicken tagine and although there was plenty of meat it was quite dry and the whole thing was a bit lacking in flavour.

I want to say a big thank you to, Sabri at Taste of Sahara. He helped to make my 21st birthday a special night. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was very chilled and welcoming. Everyone noted how tasty the meals were and how lovely Sabri and his team were. My friend and I did an impromptu Friday night dinner and we had already not gotten in to one place. We then tried here and to be honest so glad that we got turned away from the first one. Sabri greeted us and was so lovely. He said he could squeeze us in for an hour - 2 1/2 hours later we were still there finishing our wine and laughing and joking with Sabri. This was a great restaurant with a varied Mediterranean menu and byo, which makes it cheaper. The atmosphere was excellent with a mixture of big groups, couples and friends. I had a thoroughly good night as did my friend and I have already recommended this place to friends as a night out. I will definitely be back. Thanks Sabri for being such a good sport and so attentive.

Had all the starters and a whole sea bass between the four of us ...delicious...and Sabri and Adam looked after us really well...another lovely Saturday afternoon ..a real treat...... follow up meal in October took ten of my team to a Taste of Sahara and they absolutely loved it .. Sabri and Abdul looked after us for four great hours of food and wine ... we went to the Wine Barrel just down the road from the restaurant for our wine ... Then the main, a huge plate of rice covered in lamb and chicken kebab, superb. We had our work Christmas do here for 12 people and they could easily have catered for more- would highly reccommend!

Popped in looking for something different and exotic after visiting the beach. We liked the look of this place abs although it was late the owner checked to see if the chef was still available. He was and we were seated. We had a fun conversation and chat about dishes and I chose the fish out of recommendation and a tagine with some sides. The food was absolutely delicious, with flavours that reminded me of my visit to Marakech. My sea bass was cooked to perfection and served on a bed of salad and citrus fruits. The tagine was rich in aroma, taste and the chicken was so soft. Even the mint tea was amazing! The service was polite and lovely as well as the facilities being clean and comfortable. We had a great time and were so stuffed in the end.

Cannot recommend Sahara highly enough. Brilliant food, atmosphere, accomodation of the hosts, everything is well catered for (intimate dinners or large groups), and exceptional value for money. BYO with no corkage pushes this restaurant into almost unparalleled value for money teritory. You will not be disappointed, but book ahead, its popular and rightfully so (Have visited throughout 2009-Present, last visit November 2014)

I've been wanting to visit this restaurant all year, but various pandemics put the brakes on that... I was warmly welcomed onto a 4 person table as a sole diner and the food kept a warm welcome into an unbelievable experience. The lamb chops, which later I learned were freshly butchered that day, were INCREDIBLE. Great sharing meze for two, and to be honest we could have / should have stopped there, ordering a main each (regardless of how tasty) was overkill. My wife and I are sitting here feeling like we won't need to eat for a few days. Considering we brought our own beers (thanks to their BYOB policy) and had no dessert, the £64 bill was a bit on the steep side but the service was attentive, the food was plentiful and tasty and a restaurant has to make a profit so all in all it's a recommendation, just understand it's not the cheapest place around.

Really nice restaurant. Friendly and attentive service. The mixed mezze for one was delicious, really loved the flat bread that was stuffed with halloumi. There was also plenty for 2 people if you are having a main like we did. The chicken couscous was nice but couldve done with lots more sauce and would've been nice to be offered some harissa to have with it . There could have been bit more veg and chicken as well as there was a lot of the actual couscous grain but had to really dig around to find the chicken. The mergez sausages which we ordered on the side were so yummy! Overall great food and service and good value for money, i would definitely return next time im in the area.

If you enjoy your Middle Eastern cuisine then look no further. The decor is simple with a strong reflection of the owners origin which is Tunisian I believe. Lovely friendly engaging staff. It’s a BYO which is another plus. If I could award more stars for the food I would. It’s simply amazing in presentation, quantity and most importantly quality of tastes. We will never miss the opportunity of eating here. Very much the jewel of Brighton.

Booked this restaurant due to its high rating on trip advisor. It was very welcoming, felt like a nice family run business and the host male was lovely and attentive. The food was amazing and super tasty! The only thing I would say is that the haloumi bread starter it does need some sort of dip- I used my partners houmous from his starter. I would also say that there is automatically a service charge put on the bill which I do not like and do not approve off. Seems as though there was only 2 of us I don't think this should have been there. If we ever come to Brighton again we will be back.

Sabri is incredibly helpful and well-organised, he helped me set everything up and reassured me constantly throughout the evening. The food was delicious, served hot and promptly. Had the most wonderful dinner with friends at A Taste of Saharah last night. Gorgeous food, really great value for money and the best hospitality I've experienced. The staff were so attentive and generous. The restaurant was beautifully decorated and had a lovely ambience. So much delicious food, we had to take some home as we couldn't finish it. Honestly the one of the best restaurants in Brighton / Hove. Both the food and service were top notch and amazing vegan options. Great value for money too. Couldn't recommend it enough and already booking are table for next time!

I went here last night for my friends 21st birthday. The owner was really friendly with me and my friends. He did everything he could to make us feel comfortable and laugh. The food was amazing and we left the restaurant feeling full. We had a set dinner and got to try most of the menu , it was really nice , if I visit Brighton again , I would definitely go back.

Great food, very accommodating, and lovely restaurant. Had a booking of 10 people for my birthday. And had the Arabian Feast option, which was more then enough food for 10 men. Sabri was incredibly accommodating, food came out promptly, and we were allowed to bring our own alcohol. Would recommend for a birthday celebration.

Low key and unassuming (bring your own booze) living room style restaurant. However... the manager was outstanding, very hospitable and eager to please us. The food was top notch. There was so much I ate my fill but still had to leave some. Would recommend for larger groups/parties that want to try authentic North African and Lebanese food in an informal setting.

Nice North African and Middle Eastern restaurant, serving very generous portions of authentic homemade traditional cuisine. They don't serve alcohol but you can bring your own. The service is friendly and polite and, considering I visited on a Saturday evening, it was pretty swift too. Good value for money.

Lovely experience. Staff were super friendly and great, I have to be honest, the only slight let down was our food did not taste as amazing as all the review put it. I came in with an expectation of re-tasting the tagine from my marrakesh trip, it was lovely but not as flavourful. Would still recommend, but I hope my experience helps you set your expectation so you will enjoy your visit 🙂

This restaurant caters well for meat eaters, vegans and vegetarians. We had the sharing mezze platter to start and asked for it to be vegan. It was huge! And we struggled to finish our mains of okra stew (vegan) and chicken with rice and salad. All delicious and fresh.

What a fabulous place to eat! So I decided to take my wife out for a meal the other night and have to say I was expecting a bit more after reading some of the reviews. The service was ok but the food was just average. The rice was warm and not how you want it. It should come out hot! The lamb chops was ok but a bit too fatty. All in all ok but not great. A generous 3 stars. Won’t be going back in a rush.
