Came here as a group of four, and ordered a selection of dishes. We had also brought a couple of bottles of wine from the nearby waitrose. Fantastic service, and quickly gave us buckets of ice for the wine. The food came quickly and were very large portions. Great food, and easy to keep on a budget due to the BYOB. Fully recommend.

I booked a party of approx. 25 people for a birthday party recently, and we all absolutely loved the experience at Taste of Sahara! Sabri is incredibly helpful and well-organised, he helped me set everything up and reassured me constantly throughout the evening. The food was delicious, served hot and promptly. Everyone brought their own drinks of choice and it was all a very smooth process - thank you Sabri for making the process of organising the birthday party so much less stressful for me. We will be back!

Lovely experience. Staff were super friendly and great, I have to be honest, the only slight let down was our food did not taste as amazing as all the review put it. I came in with an expectation of re-tasting the tagine from my marrakesh trip, it was lovely but not as flavourful. Popped in looking for something different and exotic after visiting the beach. We liked the look of this place abs although it was late the owner checked to see if the chef was still available. He was and we were seated. We had a fun conversation and chat about dishes and I chose the fish out of recommendation and a tagine with some sides. The food was absolutely delicious, with flavours that reminded me of my visit to Marakech. My sea bass was cooked to perfection and served on a bed of salad and citrus fruits. The tagine was rich in aroma, taste and the chicken was so soft. Even the mint tea was amazing! The service was polite and lovely as well as the facilities being clean and comfortable. We had a great time and were so stuffed in the end.

I've been wanting to visit this restaurant all year, but various pandemics put the brakes on that... I was warmly welcomed onto a 4 person table as a sole diner and the food kept a warm welcome into an unbelievable experience. The lamb chops, which later I learned were freshly butchered that day, were INCREDIBLE. A totally unassuming outfit from the outside, but feels like home once in and the kind of people I passionately want to see come through this challenging market, keeping their smiles on their faces!! A Taste of Sahara is easily the best restaurant in Brighton. Not only because it serves the best Middle Eastern and North African food but also because the owner, Sabri, and the staff provided the best customer service I've ever had in Brighton. Great sharing meze for two, and to be honest we could have / should have stopped there, ordering a main each (regardless of how tasty) was overkill. My wife and I are sitting here feeling like we won't need to eat for a few days. Considering we brought our own beers (thanks to their BYOB policy) and had no dessert, the £64 bill was a bit on the steep side but the service was attentive, the food was plentiful and tasty and a restaurant has to make a profit so all in all it's a recommendation, just understand it's not the cheapest place around.

Really nice restaurant. Friendly and attentive service. The mixed mezze for one was delicious, really loved the flat bread that was stuffed with halloumi. There was also plenty for 2 people if you are having a main like we did. The chicken couscous was nice but couldve done with lots more sauce and would've been nice to be offered some harissa to have with it . There could have been bit more veg and chicken as well as there was a lot of the actual couscous grain but had to really dig around to find the chicken. The mergez sausages which we ordered on the side were so yummy! Overall great food and service and good value for money, i would definitely return next time im in the area.

If you enjoy your Middle Eastern cuisine then look no further. The decor is simple with a strong reflection of the owners origin which is Tunisian I believe. Lovely friendly engaging staff. It’s a BYO which is another plus. If I could award more stars for the food I would. It’s simply amazing in presentation, quantity and most importantly quality of tastes. We will never miss the opportunity of eating here. Very much the jewel of Brighton.

Booked this restaurant due to its high rating on trip advisor. It was very welcoming, felt like a nice family run business and the host male was lovely and attentive. The food was amazing and super tasty! The only thing I would say is that the haloumi bread starter it does need some sort of dip- I used my partners houmous from his starter. I would also say that there is automatically a service charge put on the bill which I do not like and do not approve off. Seems as though there was only 2 of us I don't think this should have been there. If we ever come to Brighton again we will be back.

Had the most wonderful dinner with friends at A Taste of Saharah last night. Gorgeous food, really great value for money and the best hospitality I've experienced. The staff were so attentive and generous. The restaurant was beautifully decorated and had a lovely ambience. So much delicious food, we had to take some home as we couldn't finish it. It's bring your own alcohol and no corkage fee but we were given ice buckets and bottle openers. I would definitely go back. Keep up the brilliant service!

The rice was warm and not how you want it. It should come out hot! The lamb chops was ok but a bit too fatty. All in all ok but not great. A generous 3 stars. Won’t be going back in a rush.

My friend and I did an impromptu Friday night dinner and we had already not gotten in to one place. We then tried here and to be honest so glad that we got turned away from the first one. Sabri greeted us and was so lovely. He said he could squeeze us in for an hour - 2 1/2 hours later we were still there finishing our wine and laughing and joking with Sabri. This was a great restaurant with a varied Mediterranean menu and byo, which makes it cheaper. The atmosphere was excellent with a mixture of big groups, couples and friends. I had a thoroughly good night as did my friend and I have already recommended this place to friends as a night out. I will definitely be back.
