I like that the food didn’t take so long to be served. The folded pizza was something I wanted to try for so long. I liked it, especially the cheese inside. The side olive oil really added a pleasant flavor to the meal. Then the cake so warm which made it just perfect with the ice-cream ball

Beautiful food, as always. Kids were served first and very quickly which was hugely appreciated. We were a walk-in and slotted in quickly before another table, but didn't feel rushed. Elderly lady with us was shown to the disabled loo on ground floor instead of using stairs for main loos.

The menu was a bit limited with a few items being off the menu, however the pizza I ordered was delicious and everyone else in the party seemed to enjoy their meal. The staff are very abrupt and give off an air of disinterest. Unfortunately, the whole service was a little poor. I was given the wrong drink and the waiter ignored me when I tried to tell him. My pizza was listed to come with a side drizzle but that never materialised. We waited about 10-15minutes for the bill. The waiter then wandered off for another 10 minutes. When he came back, he was very abrupt about whether we were ready to pay (which we had been for some time). I asked to split the bill and the waiter acted like he couldn’t hear me. When I asked again, he genuinely sighed and pointed at a QR code on the table before muttering, ‘pay with that’ and walking off. Totally bizarre behaviour. Good food but sadly, not a good atmosphere.

Really nice visit, turned up at six surprised how busy it was. The manager managed to get us a table for the family. Food and kids menu was great and the service by Nell excellent especially with the kids. Whilst obviously a chain it doesnt feel too much like one at this site which is nice.

Ask Italian is one of those places that surprise you at most turns. Free lemonade shots to begin with, great starters, mains, extravagant desserts, it's hard to go wrong. Shout out to the amazing waiter who has the best memory I've ever seen!

Mediocre food and understaffed. We know why there aren't enough staff at the moment but the restaurant should reduce the number of tables so the poor waiting staff who are trying their best can actually deliver. As a result they really struggled and it was a poor experience. The food was bland.

We went to Ask for a quick lunch, the new layout looks amazing! We were served by Greg who was very helpful and attentive. Ordered new vegan Super Green pizza and pea risotto - simply amazing! Wandered in after looking at the menu on my way by, they had bread sticks and cheese. Seated quickly by pleasant attentive staff. Asked about a new wine on the menu and was offered a sample and it arrived in a cute little sample wine glass. It matched the large, funky, chunky wine glass they serve in, nice touch. Decorated nicely for the holidays and seemed quite lively even though I arrived an hour before closing. Food was good, bread sticks and cheese were amazing! Just what I was looking for.

Friendly staff, food was good, nicely decorated restaurant. Only negative I would say is staff clearing plates before the whole table has finished eating. I find that quite rude and off-putting, brings unwanted attention to the ones who are still eating and makes you feel like they want you to leave. Other than that, would recommend!

Lovely staff and the food is reasonably priced, for pretty good grub. The room our table was in could do with some soft furnishings, or something, as it felt a little like an old school classroom with the echoes. Again, though - the staff are wonderful and our waitress was a diamond.

Just a comedy of errors really. Not sure if it was just the waiters, or the kitchen too. Asked for a kids menu, then had to ask again 10 mins later as it never came. One starter was forgotten and came 10 mins after the rest. I ordered the seasonal carbonara which switches out the asparagus for sprouts...it came with asparagus. They forgot the chips with the main. When we came to pay the whole till system had gone down and took a while to get back up. Food was fine, and waiters were apologetic, but the whole evening was frustrating. Wouldn't go again.

The staff here are brilliant and so friendly, we didn't book and were told there so no availability. So while outside trying to think of some where else to go the guy I can only assume was the manager, came out and said he has a space but need the table back by a certain time. Fantastic, we loved the food and the drink and the waitress was amazing, we mentioned we were out for a birthday so they sang happy birthday to our friend with a candle in a scoop of icecrea. A very nice ASK Italian restaurant in the centre of Brighton. The staff where very friendly and accommodating to a large group and we had small children which didn't phase them at all. They made us all fell very welcome. The food was great and came quickly.

Lovely service and good food. Sat in a gently lit walled courtyard outside the main restaurant. With enough tables for the gentle background bustle of conversation but still with plenty of room to move. Inside the restaurant was clean and modern with a great atmosphere.

Had meal here yesterday, pre theatre, haven't been to Ask for a while as our local one closed so wasn't sure how much it had changed. Lovely meal and prompt and polite service. Couldn't have been better. Reassuringly, within minutes of diners leaving a waiter would thoroughly clean their table and chairs. And they all wore proper face masks, not the pointless face guards so many restaurants think are adequate.

I am very pleased with the service. We got a deal, as we are email subscribers. It was so easy to make a reservation. The restaurant was easy to find. The atmosphere was great. The room was nicely decorated. Most importantly, the food was amazing. In my opinion, the pizza is the must-try. I am slightly annoyed by the cost of parking in Brighton, nevertheless :(.

Really friendly staff, who couldn't do more to help. Greeted straight away and offered a choice of where we would like to be seated. Outside area was lovely. Asked what we'd like to drink very quickly, but left alone long enough to make a choice of food. Very accomodating to our little one, made sure she was provided with colouring pack and her own menu. Kids menu is superb value, adults one is much the same as all pizza places, but pleasant enough. We had a very nice lunch!

Arrived at Ask on a cold rainy Saturday evening after being turned away from another chain Italian. We were welcomed warmly our 19 month old daughter entertained with crayons and served promptly. Food was Yummy. Calzone excellent. My pasta sauce was a little too runny for my taste but nonetheless tasty. Portions were generous. Pudding of pistachio cake was moist and nutty would recommend to pistachio lovers. My daughters meal was good size and well rounded she enjoyed it. The service and serving staff proved they were child friendly. All and all a good visit Ideal for the family pleased we came in albeit not intentionally.

The chocolate mousse with espresso is to die for ...But i recommend sharing if you want to walk anywhere after! I had the salcissia pizza (I believe 12.95) and not only was it gorgeous, it was significantly larger than i expected. The only things I can fault the restaurant on are: they did not have a table for nine so our group had to split into two different tables, and that the prices of drinks were quite high. Fortunately for me I am always fine with drinking tap water which they were happy to provide. A couple of friends had cocktails which they tell me were delicious. Definitely a place I would visit again for an occasion.

Visited today 27/3/18 Wow! Firstly forget the food the table service was astounding the man who served us was polite very patient especially with a crying stroppy 3 year old every 5 seconds throwing anything within reaching distance. Offered us recommendations that clearly weren't just off the books items he actually had a opinion. So first off the bat staff are amazing and made the trip before even eating lovely. And food wise zero complaints who was with me was picky they took of items we asked and the food was just generally wonderful and tasty haven't a single complaint for this place.

I have been ASK before but with the new order online you can't remove a item from something and we didn't see the point ordering with the waiter because of 1 item and that would ruin the COVID protection put in place but it did mean I couldn't get what I wanted. All in all change the online ordering a bit and its fine... oh it it didn't say the garlic bread is a big pizza garlic bread so me and my other half got 2 as we expected them to be small, we could have asked but again that would have made the COVID protection pointless, all they needed to put is "serves 2"

The reataurant is in a really cute little building that looks a lot like a house. I loved the look and layout. They have a reasonably sized garden where you can eat when the sun is out. First time visiting and Ask Italian and the first time visiting Brighton with my partner. The food was excellent, everything came out sizzling and smelling/looking great as you'd expect. Everything tasted divine and was far better than most Italian eateries we have visited thus far. However, this whole experience was let down majorly by the service we received - nobody came and checked back on us to see how the food was or to offer us another drink, if they had done I probably would have had another 1/2 drinks. Nobody collected our plates at the end, or offered us the bill, we had to go up to the till point at the end of the meal to pay. I would understand to an extent if it was busy, but we were one of 3 tables, and there were 2 staff members on shift - one of which who was visibly on his phone fairly often throughout our meal. Shame really, would have been a perfect visit if we had competent waiting staff.

Great gluten-free menu (and i'm also veggie, and they suceeded in providing quite a few options for a double difficult eater!) in a nice environment. The restaurant being split into two rooms means it feels quite intimate and the decor is tasteful. The staff were attentive and helpful and were very good when i ordered the wrong thing! They got it replaced quickly and without a fuss, although it was my mistake. Will go again.

Nipped in recently in late afternoon. Probably the nicest building ASK own, certainly in Sussex anyway. Seabass was excellent. Waitress (German?) A little matter of fact and aloof. Didn't offer myself or other customers choice of seating, and chose herself despite being nearly empty. Noticablely unhappy with tip and didn't wait for my group to leave exit, before barging past with two new customers. A shame the service wasn't up to scratch but would go again as food cooked to perfection

If you are looking for vegan Italian food, than this is the place; however, the standard food is slightly lacking in my opinion. The tomato sauce on the pizza was not spread evenly at all, resulting in mouthfuls of pure cheese and dough, but that is my only complaint.

So, im a big pizza fan, love thin crust and make my own from scratch every week and am kinda fussy. However, i had the salami misti pizza in ASK while on holiday with my family. It is definitely the nicest pizza i have had in a very long time. We had starters, mains and desserts in ASK, we dont normally go for all 3 anywhere; and everything was just about perfect, including the service. Excellent!

Visited for my sons 18th birthday meal. They were very good about us being a little late. I love that they had a separate vegan menu and that they were Ok about my daughter's food intolerance and made her a pizza without tomato sauce. The food was about average to be honest. The seafood pasta (I don't know what it was) had no real seafood in it, just a lot of empty shells and when they were told nothing was really said or done about it. My daughter's pizza had no tomato sauce but little cheese either so it was pretty dry for her. Starters came fairly quickly but we did wait a very long time for the main course, which for us was fine as we weren't in a particular hurry but it could have been annoying under other circumstances. In general it was OK but nothing exceptional, especially for the price.

We have noticed a slight difference to the menu here. We both ordered a dish we have had before a few times but this time my penne Al pollo della casa wasn't as rich. The cheese fondue starter had much more bread than we needed and the cheese fondue was more like just warm cheese. Hope this was a one off.

This was my first visit to Ask in central Brighton. The restaurant was clean and bright and the part we ate in had a real fire burning, which leant the room a homely atmosphere. I ordered a butternut squash pizza, which was wood fire cooked. Tasty and healthy. We also tried the spaghetti with lentil Ragu. This was also delicious. We had garlic bread and chunky chips as sides. You can usually get the food cheaper by having Tesco vouchers, meerkat 2for1, student discount or similar. Would definitely eat there again as the choices were plentiful and the service efficient and friendly.
