My friends and I enjoyed a lovely brunch here on a chilly Sunday morning. We had booked online and were pleased to do so as the restaurant was full throughout the meal. I ordered a cocktail and although it was delicious, I had to slip it very slowly as there was only about a mouthful in the glass at the cost of £7. We ordered our food and it came in good time. The meal was very tasty and the poached eggs were cooked to perfection! Still, I felt it was a little over priced for £13. My friend ordered the banana smoothie which she wasn't aware contained a shot of espresso. She took one slip and hated it. After we received the bill we asked the server if he could remove this item and he was very kind and did so without any hesitation! I liked the decor and atmosphere of the restaurant and would come again. The staff were lovely and all said goodbye on our way out of the restaurant.

Beautiful venue and really friendly staff. Food was all amazing, especially the flower pot cheesecake 👌 i loved the house drinks, nothing was sweet which was a bonus. Our only issue was one of out party receiving a cold breakfast, though we did order it 15 minutes before the cut off. Chef owned it however and recooked the meal and got it comped without asking, which honestly was really great of them. We ordered from breakfast, lunch starters and burger menus at 4.45pm! The flexibility of their menu was impressive. Would definitely recommend going here for a nice meal.

Very friendly staff and the atmosphere was so nice! Definitely go if you're visiting Brighton, breakfasts are served all day. Leona, our waitress upstairs, was so friendly and even recommended some places for us to visit! Food was delicious 😋

Absolutely loved this restaurant! The decor was really homely whilst also being super stylish. we got calamari and the cheese fondue for the table. Best calamari I've ever had and the truffle cheese fondue was out of this world! However it could have been better with more sauce as most of the bread soaked it up! For Mains I had the meatballs, which had so much flavour and sides were great. My partner had the black and gold burger (medium) which was cooked to perfection. He said one of the best burgers he ever had! Our side of Mac and cheese was game changing! Cocktails were good also. Brilliant place for lunch or dinner. Especially for date night! Only downfall was that we had asked our waiter at the beginning, if the restaurant accepts blight light discount (which is does) however a different waitress came and gave me the bill and card machine. No mention of the discount and I completely forgot to remind them so ended up paying full price of the meal when we were entitled to NHS discount.

My girlfriend and I went for breakfast last Saturday. I must say the experience as a whole was phenomenal. The bar staff were more than helpful and very friendly, more so than any other restaurant we’ve been to in the local area. The food was sublime and worth every cent. A bustling atmosphere was about the restaurant on a bright Saturday morning, can’t say I’ve went to a place for breakfast that can come close to how great Bill’s was! Keep up great work guys! We came in and were seated fairly promptly by the sweetest and friendly guy I've ever met in my life. We ordered our drinks which came fairly quickly, and then ordered our food. We ordered eggs Benedict and Mac & cheese with fries. Unfortunately the Mac & cheese came cold, and we were 1 portion of fries short. We made the staff aware, and the manager came down and apologised profusely. She then came back with hot mac & cheese, our extra portion of chips, as well as an extra portion should we want it. Once we finished our mains we ordered donuts. They were great, but they did take 15 minutes to come out which is a long time for dessert. We got the bill, and saw the manager had kindly knocked money off for us. Since the staff were friendly, we kept the optional service charge on although I wish they didn't add it automatically. The food was amazing, and we really appreciated the gesture from the manager. But overall it was a shoddy experience.

Visited here during the Christmas holidays for an impromptu meal, went in as it looked nice and we couldn't have been happier. The staff were great, atmosphere was great and the food was amazing, a total surprise. I had pan fried fish with crushed potatoes and broccoli, which was sooooo good I can't state how nice it was in words, my husband had the burger, which, yes, you can pick up and eat like a burger, he said it was great. The only thing I personally thought could change a little was the desert, I had the Christmas tree cheese cake, I felt there should have been more cheese cake, less cream and the chocolate pot could be thinner. It was a chocolate flower pot! We can highly recommend this restaurant and are planning on going back.

We went here for my girlfriends 25th birthday. The food was amazing both in savoury and sweet and the drinks and cocktails were amazing as well. The staff were all fantastic polite enthusiastic and helped make her birthday truly special. Treating her like the birthday girl but not singing her happy birthday when she begged them not too. Overall fantastic place beautiful ambience that everyone visiting Brighton should go.

Attended on a busy weekend night, was greeted within a minute at the door and swiftly sat on comfortable chairs at our table. Staff were all professional enough, had some of the best food I'd had in a while, a few nice beers to accompany. I can't wait for my return visit, they truly are good here at Bill's.

I went for brunch with a friend and baby. It was the first time feeding a very messy babe solids out and about and the staff couldn't have been lovelier. The food was great, they let us have the breakfast menu even though we were too late really. They heated up my baby food and were totally fine with the mess and noise he made. The food was great and everyone enjoyed there meal. We was a table of 8 and just one person got cheese in there burger when they asked for no cheese. The staff were lovely. They seemed very understanding about my allergy (CELIAC) they told me how everything will be absolutely fine but they can't 100% guarantee cross contamination which I understand I asked if they had a separate fryer and they said yes. Then that evening I was ill. So if you also have celiac I personally wouldn't recommend eating here now my weekend Is ruined I wish i had known as I would have just not eaten and I would have been fine with that over getting ill.

Three trips to Brighton and three brunches in Bill's. Why? Apart from the excellent food and the fact a DJ plays the music on Saturdays it's one of the few places in Brighton you can book a table at! The cooked breakfast is very good and the pancakes get great reviews from my family.

Bill’s is a must try restaurant for everyone. I had an amazing experience, with very good service and a very bright interior and restaurant setting. We were a group of 10, and they accommodated us very well! All the food was amazing and I particularly enjoyed the Mac And Cheese. All my friends also complimented their food! I would 100% recommend everyone to try it.

I normally go to Bills with a high expectation as their known for a popular brunch destination. I think the service was a little unsteady at the start with seating issues. In most instances you’d fix up by offering great table service, simply menus been given is a good start. I personally think it was all slow. I ordered some food after 15 minutes of wait time on a non busy afternoon. The starter was an absolute joke. Two small, pieces of bread, as if they were low on stock. Either way, main course was average and the mac cheese was very watery. Overall, they need to consider their portions and meeting up to their pricing. Atmosphere was nice, and clean.

BUT dont't put us in the window directly under the external LED lights when we ask for an intimately (read dimly) lit table.. so many places get the lighting wrong... Went in for a last-minute brunch on Sunday afternoon around 1:30pm and really enjoyed it. The service was solid and the food was very tasty. I had the garden plate and the Eton mess for dessert (a mango meringue which had a smooth creamy flavor, not too sweet). The sparkling drinks that my friend and I shared were also very tasty. Even though the restaurant was very busy, our servers were great.

Bill’s is one of the better brunch spots I have been to. There is a great selection of foods available for both non vegetarians and vegetarians. It has a great ambience and the staff was extremely friendly too! The highlight for me was the Mac & Cheese! It was so creamy and defintitely one of the better mashed I have had. The pancakes were really fluffy as well which I enjoyed. I also tried the traditional breakfast which was standard but great to have. My friend tried the peri peri chicken and really liked it too. Highly recommend this spot for breakfast/lunch/brunch!

Nicely located to not be over busy but still at peak a very short wait might give you a moment to take in the atmosphere. Brunch is great as expected and be sure to try the hand made cooler drinks. During my recent trip to Brighton we had a lovely breakfast at Bill’s, a popular chain of restaurants with over 79 outlets in the UK serving an all day menu. It all started in Lewes 18 years ago in 2000! Bill’s was bustling when we arrived with our large group on a hen do! The restaurant is split into two tiers and we dined upstairs. In the lead up to the booking, the communication from Bill’s was excellent and we pre-ordered our food. They were very patient with everyone arriving and a couple of people changing their orders! The brunch menu at Bill’s is extensive and includes pretty much everything you want! We kicked off with some prosecco and the bride had a special cocktail made for her which was really sweet. The hot chocolate with cream and a FLAKE was also amazing! As usual, the standard of the food was great and very reasonably priced. I love their 3 stack pancakes with streaky bacon (£7.95)! The eggs benedict (£7.95) and the Smashed Avocado on Toast with smoked streaky bacon (£9.45) were also very popular with the group. I definitely recommend a trip to Bill’s when you are in Brighton

Lovely looking place and really friendly attentive staff. We ordered toast with avocado with poached eggs and side of streaky bacon. The food was good but not great. The kitchen could have a bit more generous with the avocado and the poached eggs were on the cold side. We ordered a bloody Mary as well, and added a bit of Bill's Hot sauce. Delicious and super spicy.

Popped in for a quick burger before the theatre. I am always surprised that I don't go here more. I was impressed with the food and the service. As it was a Thursday they had a DJ playing some music, which worked pretty well. Overall a nice place, though somehow just misses the mark, I can't put my finger on it and its certainly got a lot better since I was last there.

Make sure you book online as it gets really busy for breakfast (even in the working week) had a voucher for money off and got the garden breakfast and a smoothie. The breakfast was nice but I'd probably miss out on the smoothie as you don't get a lot and I didn't seem to enjoy it as much as I thought.

The members of staff at Bills are extremely welcoming and the moment you walk in feel straight at home. I’ve had the pancakes and granola here, both which were very nice. Personally I would recommend the the pancakes over the granola, but that’s just personal choice. Service was quick and efficient, would 100% come back to this Bills. Absolutely amazing!

The staff were very friendly and a nice atmosphere but the food was just average. We were told when ordering our drinks, cocktails, that there was a bit of a wait!!!!!!! Finished our starter and was offered water, ended up ordering a normal drink at an extra cost of £14 just so we could actually have a drink. Cocktails turned up after a wait of 50 minutes.

A nice little café in the centre of Brighton. Very popular locally we needed a booking to get a table for a Sunday lunchtime. The food served is on the theme of elevated cooked breakfasts, brunches and light lunches and the like. My party had Florentine eggs, a large breakfast, a minute steak with a truffle sauce and a beef burger. We chose various coffees and hot chocolates to drink - along with water for the table but the venue is licenced with a good selection of wines, bottled beers and cocktails. The table was clean and everything was well presented in what's best described as a "shabby chic" environment. The premises itself being the roofed over entrance to a former bus station accessed through a discrete little airlock door. All very "Brighton". Service was great with a complete absence of "awesome" and "no problems" - phrases which I particularly abhor - albeit there was one or two "amazings" from our waitress but you can't have everything. The other customers we saw a mixture of young couples through to families and friends indicating a wide appeal. The bottom line is that both the food and service were superlative. What was less great was the £92 bill for a light lunch for four with service charge included on the bill. I'll pay a service charge or leave a tip but not both. I do feel that including a service charge in the bill is something of a liberty - especially considering the price of the meal itself. My husband and I enjoyed a lovely evening at Bills last Saturday. Every single person on the staff we spoke to were smiley and helpful. Our food was really lovely. There was a problem with the scones I ordered in that they were like rocks! I could hardly get my knife to go through them but the staff all apologised and I had replacements in quick order. We really enjoyed the dj as well. A really enjoyable evening and I would definitely go back if we are in the area again.

We came to Bill's after a last minute change of plans for a hen do and I am so glad that the original plans fell through. As usual will Bills the food was great - I've never been disappointed with their food, and as a vegetarian I was really pleased to see some different options for once, the falafel was lovely. But the main reason I'm writing this review is because right from the word go, the staff were amazing. The guy that met us on the door was very patient with us while he checked our temperatures, even though we were all very drunk and silly by this point in the evening, we were taken upstairs to be seated and then we met Luca. Oh man, what a guy. He humoured our silliness throughout the evening like a total champ, gave us all such a wonderful time that we didn't want to leave for our next booking. By the end of the meal all of us were just a little bit in love with Luca! I hope that Bill's management are reading these reviews and give him a massive pat on the back because he well and truly deserves to be recognised for how great he is. I'm just disappointed he doesn't work at my local Bill's, although I'd probably never leave!

Used to go to Bill's quite often but went recently and honestly think that the staff could use some training on existent pronouns and how/when to use them or not use them at all. Thinking about the fact that Brighton has a big LGBT community, this also means that people might like to be treated by he, she or they so referring to customers as "Ladies and Gentleman" might not be appropriate and make people feel uncomfortable as they might not identify as female or male.

Difficult one as the food is great, but they're sooo busy, it took 45 mins for halloumi fries and squid to come. Then the main come, minus the chips, the server said it comes like that so I downloaded the menu and it's supposed to come with chips! There's a 12.5% tip built in, whether service is good or bad (something I'm not a fan of). The server then left without saying she's off, which I'd expect with a 12.5% mandatory tip, as customer services should be spot on, IMO. So there's the dilema on a score. They were super busy, they got through service, think everyone was chipping in, hence not knowing about chips as think it was the bar person, the house white wine is not good, I'd scrap that and get a nicer one as reminded me of a Greek or Spanish night wine in resort! Food quality is 4-5 stars when right, everything else is 3 star with a hefty tip, like it or not, but overall it was OK.

We were served by a waitress called Ola who gave us just the right amount of time to order. She was really friendly and helpful. Extra water was brought to the table without us having to ask and it is little touches like this that make a difference. We had breakfast here when we last visited Brighton so we were looking forward to coming back and we werent dissapointed. The place is so interesting, staff are so lovely and the breakfasts are absolutely delicious. I highly recommended this restaurant.

We went for an evening meal and i know the breakfasts are pretty good I had a duck pie, which had mash potato on the top, there was nothing else with it apart from some shredded red cabbage on a very small dish. Would have been nice if it came with some vegetables or some thing to make it a meal. This pie was £11.95 and it did not really have much duck in it, so i will prob avoid Bills for evening meals.

You'll find the interior warm and inviting, borderline family style eating set inside a renovated bus depot. You can't get much more Brighton than Bill's!

Lovely tea only let down by poor customer service when we arrived. We were made to wait for a table even though there were at least two free tables that were not reserved. We were finally allowed to sit down with our two tired young children after several heated conversations with the rather patronising head waiter when we kept pointing out the free tables. Not particularly child-friendly, no colouring activities either, surprising for Brighton which is known for being family friendly.

went the other day-- i swear its been a victim of its own success, or has the whole chain changed hands? either way for me its lost its spark.. I was in there yesterday. Had the Super green smoothie.....it was kept in a container (not made fresh to order) and obviously had been kept too long because the apple or grapes in it had gone off /sour and the juice tasted 'fizzy' .....and the Juice was £4.30. The waitress said " oh if we think it is we will get back to you " (like she didn't trust me) ....and then she tested it back in the kitchen area and lo and behold it was fizzy ! The manager watched all this, and saw it came from my table: no apology from her. The service , although polite was slow and the £8.95 or whatever it was for the fish finger sandwich (which was pretty boring really) and some over cooked chips ........so would i come again ? No thanks !!

Such a shame. Bills used to be great five or so years ago but now it's just generic high street restaurant food. Not bad value but it used to be special. I note that the original Bill is 'no longer involved in running the company but retains a stake', and it's now majority owned by a millionaire restaurateur. This has been a favourite hangout of mine since I was about 18-19 and managing a bar. Sunday brunch and, in fact, breakfast on any day of the week was a total treat for me. That was... erm... a few years ago, but it is still a top notch joint. I’ve since taken my daughter for a scrumptious pre-gig brekky and babycino which she adored, and I was glad to take my fella here on a trip to Brighton 2 years ago, after having raved about it to him. Bloody Mary’s are on point. And always worth a check of all the beautiful fresh and canned goods for sale - these make great gifts for those near or far. Service is still fab and friendly all these years later, and is part of the reason Bill’s is what it is.

We're always cold when we go here. It's a big cavernous room with only one door straight onto the street so when someone goes in or out there's quite a draught. There is a kind of canvas curtain to create a makeshift porch but it's not that effective. Also last time we went they completely forgot our order. After waiting for about 30 minutes we asked where the food was and they realised they'd overlooked us. We got a free drink which was some consolation, but will probably leave it a while before returning.

In 2011, on a long sunny day that was turning into a balmy evening, I first visited Bill's. With the doors flung open to the warm night air, the elderflower proscecco flowing and some delicious food keeping my tummy happy, it was easy to love Bill's. Two years later - on a grey day, a Monday even - I stepped through those doors hoping that my memory hadn't served me wrong... Even without the sunshine, this place did not disappoint. The veggie breakfast here (with avocado and hummus on toast, poached eggs with chilli oil and mushrooms) was so good that it made me ashamed of other veggie breakies I've had and liked!
