Walking along Market Street (in the lanes) came upon this quaint little restaurant. Bit of History for ya:. 13th century fisherman's cottage apt as it's located in the oldest part of the Lanes... (As per D'Arcy's pamphlet)
Food was very tastey; I had the muscles with garlic bread. Wine, Castillo del Moro crisp not to dry or sweet... Desert; panna cotta. Lovely meal, took the long way round (walk to digest) home. Oh and the waiter was very friendly.
Toilet Facilities: Unisex not my fav type of facilities. Located up two flights of steep stairs (13th century) bit puffed out when I got to the top. However, there was toilet paper, soap & hot water... And they were relatively clean, could do with a refurbishment (just my opinion).

Food was alright. A bit overpriced for what it was (lunch menu). Service was lovely but took a while for a larger group.

The waiter is a very entertaining guy. He knows how to serve. Lighting is great and the tables are set with proper table wear and a romantic flower. The red brick street with the outdoor tables make the restaurant look fancy.
However, my steak was disappointing. The meat was waaaay too tough. The slow cooked shank was nice and soft but too salty. I recommend the soup of the day. That was fantastic. They didn't serve bread with it though.

Amazing. Been here at least 4 times in the last 2 years. Always have incredible service, homely and welcoming, incredible fresh fish and seafood and gorgeous wine. It will most likely remain one of my ultimate favourite restaurants in Brighton.

Stopped here while looking for somewhere to get lunch and spotted the 2 course menu for 12.95 fantastic value for money. The duck patè starter was a delight with a lovely hint of orange and the chicken caesar salad was so good.
