I can't fault this lovely cafe... What an amazing selection of homemade cakes... Absolutely stunning.
I, however, had a big breakfast, one of the best, if not the best breakfast I've had, beautiful bacon, lovely sausages... Well cooked, well presented.
Just to add to the experience, the guy who was cooking (a Scottish guy) was genuinely funny.
I left with a full stomach and a smile on my face.
I honestly hope I can get back here.
Well done and thank you.

It's been a long time since we went and had a walk around rottingdean high street, we decided to call into Shane's kitchen for a cuppa and cream tea . " Oh my god " ended up having a English breakfast & I've got to say it's the best I've ever had second to none , it was amazing, Google need to introduce a 5*plus or 10* category because trust me 5* is not enough for this amazing place . The staff are so friendly & can't do enough for you & if you decide to have cake etc , look at the pictures words just aren't enough. Very well priced you truly get more than you pay for , so if you ever find yourself in rottingdean pop in trust me it will blow your mind 🙂 absolute class 👍👍date of review 8/5/22

An absolute gem! You’ll know it by the gorgeous cakes in the window! Come inside and you’ll be welcomed by the friendly owner Barry. At first we just came for the Bounty Coconut Brownie Cake, which was decadent! We were having such a great time chatting to Barry, that we had some sandwiches to stay longer 😃 Such a lovely experience and we hope to visit again next time we’re in Brighton!

Omg yum!! Giant cakes with amazing toppings and super friendly staff. What a cute, gem of a place. Must visit for a cuppa and huge piece of cake if in Rottingdean. Planning to go for breakfast soon 😋

Amazing quirky little tea room/cafe, not too far from the seafront. The window with its mouth watering selection of homemade gateau and sausage rolls draws you in. We went for the Victoria sponge & Eton mess cake, both came with clotted cream added! Very decadent, very rich!! The cheerful staff do their upmost to welcome you.

What a delightful cafe with lovely owners. We felt welcomed from the moment we stepped inside. The owner, Barry, was a lot of fun. Telling jokes and also giving great advice on where to visit on our holiday. Stopped here based on other reviews. Was looking for Tea and scones. Everything was delicious. My husband enjoyed the gluten free almond cake and gluten free macaroon. My scone was perfect. We highly recommend Shane's Kitchen and will definitely be back!

Had a coffee and tea break there and it was lovely, nice atmosphere and the owner came to talk with us personally and we had a good laugh. Tea and coffee were good, had one of the best scones ever with it and sadly we didn't try the homemade cakes but they all looked just delicious (and for our ~30 min stay there around 10 people got cakes to go). The owner even filled up our bottle because he saw that it was empty. This cafe is worth a visit!!!

The most charming café in the Brighton/Rottingdean area! All of the staff were very friendly, and the food was exactly what we needed after a long day of bike riding. The cakes are extremely delectable and the quality of the savory dishes matched! Highly recommended!

Absolute gem of a cafe, quaint and cosy,. The big breakfast probably the best fry up I've ever had. Sausages out of this world, portion size generous. Staff so friendly and welcoming as well. Will definitely be back to try some of the amazing looking cakes.

This place is absolutely top.
Cozy cafe, great food, lovely people.
I went there thinking that I would put my head down and crack on with a bit of work but within 15 minutes Bary his team of lovely staff had lifted my mood with super cake and even better humour. I stayed for over 3 hours and even felt sad to leave.
This is a group of people who care about people.
Cannot recommend enough.
