Full of character, rustic and with great atmosphere, small plates to share with a nice Wine list to choose from. Food was delicious, some brilliant, cooked fresh and with quality products. Friendly warm service and fairly priced. I think it's a Michelin recommended place, rightfully.

Amazing food, wonderful service, and a great vibe make this place truly special. We absolutely love this place and can't wait to be back!
If you have the opportunity, treat yourself to the Chefs table experience. Highly recommended!

Great food! Very 'masterchef' experience. We had the vegetarian set menu and was delicious. A great surprise when you get lots of 'little bits' in between
the main dishes too.
Really cool venue and friendly staff! Will definitely be returning!

Superb evening meal. Highly recommended
I had Watermilon with goats cheese and seaweed which was superb. The flavour combinations wow. I don't usually like goats cheese but it was a good combo with the watermelon. Then I had Artichoke with ojobianco amazing combination of flavours
Red mullet crevice. For my main I had Char sui monkfish and BBQ pork belly. All the drink were also amazing I would highly recommend

A great vibe here and a dry unassuming entrance leading to a wonderful creative and stylish place!
The staff are both friendly and attentive and the food while different is very tasty. We only sat in the cafe area, but there is a restaurant, bar, rooms to stay in and rooms to hire for business!

Cool place, nice atmosphere, great service. The food was beautiful for the eyes and very good in taste. Nothing ordinary. All very special. The caffee offers tapas plates and the restaurant offers set menus that goes well with flight wine menus. I loved it. I recommend it. Enjoy!

Amazing Sunday evening roast lamb.... The alternative was the vegetarian option. Lots of little sharing sides and lovely lamb from a farm just down the road... Lovely cocktails.... Extensive wine menu.... Stylish setting.... Cool artwork....a trendy hotel upstairs... And such wonderful indulgent service... A very special place to spend the afternoon or evening!! Highly recommended.

What an amazing brunch find! Wonderful selection of tea - I believe I had the peach and pine one and it was just perfect. The food was also all so fantastic. I had a combination of ham/leeks/kale with a poached egg on top, served with soldiers to dip with. My husband had ox cheek with a some kind of pickled root on top. Both were unbelievable good. Our service was also very good even with it being busy on Mothering Sunday. Look forward to going back to try the dinner menu and to brunch again.

Amazing food, drinks, service and ambience. The food well seasoned, flavorful, beautifully presented and served by knowledgeable, smiley and friendly people. Not much more to ask for....ohh yeah, the sea view !!!!

Incredible. Lovely atmosphere with a cool bar area and separate restaurant seating. Great experience sitting at the pass.
They made amazing vegan options for me . So many amazingly well presented dishes that were so tasty.
L. B.
An absolutely stunning dining experience. And the best service.

Food and wine flight was good. Restaurant had really good atmosphere and I love the open kitchen so you can see the chefs working. Staff very friendly.

We had breakfast this morning at The Set. I can honestly say it was the best breakfast of our holiday. I ordered the Veggie breakfast. It was absolutely delicious. Cooked perfectly & presented lovely. My partner ordered the full English. We was impressed with the bacon! Our 5 year old Daughter had the pancakes. She gave us the thumbs up. Thank you so much for a lovely breakfast.

Amazing meal. Lovely staff, good atmosphere and excellent food - not to mention the set menu which is great value for money
J. H.
Very much enjoyed our lunch at the Set. With children and granddaughter we occupied a corner in the pleasantly busy front room slightly away from the restaurant itself and benefitted from a good but non-intrusive service. The Set has three pre-fix menus of the four courses each, fish, veggie and meat but allows for mix and match across the menus. It's about £35 a head, the short wine list is reasonable and there is a £24 a head wine flight if you prefer. The food is modern British, lots of inventive dishes and if you sit in the restaurant at the back cooked right in front of you.
J. B.
Some of the best food I have had anywhere in the world. Photos of duck egg, duck fried potato and duck bacon and an amazing fish platter!

Really delicious food and friendly service, would recommend for people who like to try something new. Love the cocktails.

This place is worth going. Amazing, refined food, always unique taste & presentation.

We had a lovely evening at The Set, the food and drinks pairing were delicious - we particularly loved the pork belly, scallop and the chocolatey dessert. We enjoyed the drinks pairing and the variety of drinks included, the plum wine was a highlight. Service was friendly and prompt however, when we arrived we were all herded into the back terrace for a cocktail. It was crammed and uncomfortable, and exposed us to the hum and smell of the extractor fan and the smoke from the outdoor bbq grill. When a table is advertised from 6:30 you don’t expect to be waiting an hour to see the menu never mind receiving your first course. It also did take over 4 hours end to end, which could be cut down by removing this unnecessary intro. Luckily the food and drinks were great and we would go back!
M. F.
Lovely atmosphere and amazing dishes with a twist! Will go back for sure!
D. L.
Pretty damn excellent. It's a long evening (4 hours) but it flew by, and the food was insanely good. And I'm not usually a fan of natural/organic wines but the wine pairing was great.
P. H.
The Set is consistently superb. We’ve been going since the start and it’s always delivered incredible food. Brilliant team, very friendly, very knowledgable, excellent service, relaxed atmosphere. Nothing not to like, favourite restaurant of all time (I quite like it).
C. A.
Had an absolutely fabulous Sunday set lunch - I normally don’t like going for a roast as they can be hit and miss but this was insane. Only 2 options - meat or veg and then you sit back and relax! Lots of little pots of side dishes come with the meal which all were delicious.

We dined at 'The Set' on Monday evening and we were blown away by our experience. The food was simply outstanding, the service incredible and the ambiance fantastic. Bravo to the team of chefs working there for such an amazing menu, we all loved every part of the food we ate. The 2 staff serving us were simply charming, knowledgable about the foods and wines and engaged with us all evening. A great team working here created a lovely evening for us. A great find and we will be back. Thank you :-)

Just brilliant! Visited here with a few friends for a long lunch. The place has lovely decor and atmosphere with very welcoming staff.
The food was the best Ive eaten in Brighton and no surprise they get the Michelin recommendation they do. We all had duck for main which was very well presented and consistent across the plates. A variety of starters were delicious too.
I will be returning very soon!

Have not stopped thinking about this place!!
The restaurant is absolutely fantastic! The tables over looking the kitchen are incredibly fascinating, the staff are all so friendly and the food was incredible! So many courses and the chef explained each thing in detail to us. Very welcoming! Left there wishing we had got the chefs details and menu for any future wedding plans! Definitely recommend!

If I was just eating dinner, it would get 3*s, but the breakfasts are excellent (delicious, decent size, lovely venue). The dinners though have two problems: 1. Everything that precedes main course is average - we tried 4 different snacks and starters over two nights and all were pretty tasteless. The mains were great though, the lamb in particular. 2. The red-headed male waiter has a significant attitude problem. Over two nights eating there I spent far too much time trying to be nice to him as he seemed a weird combination of cross, impatient and arrogant. Anyway, it looks good, it mostly tastes great and the service is (mostly) excellent.
K. B.
Wonderful service and excellent food. The service was quick and easy without feeling intrusive. We sat at the pass so could see the food being prepared, I highly recommend this as it's so interesting to watch the chefs cook the food. We had a set menu with matching wine menu, it was brilliant and the wine was well matched to each course. We can't wait to come back.
C. F.
Amazing food and service... best in Brighton.

It was so great to discover this place so different from the touristic spot on the sea front! Nice service, great decoration, perfect vibe, very good and original food and cocktails! Choice on the menu is limited: you will have to choose between a couple of small plate/tapas and deserts - perfect for sharing! There are good vegetarian options. Overall a trendy place in Brighton that I will highly recommend.
J. C.
Fantastic food, fantastic friendly knowledgeable staff. Great cocktails. The only thing I didn't like was them putting the service charge on the bill rather than letting you tip as you see fit. Not annoying enough to take a whole star off for though.

Brilliant restaurant. Probably one of the best in Brighton. Their menu will look simple but the dishes are anything but. The work that goes into each dish is self evident. Everything is served beautifully and every flavour compliments the overall taste. Look out for the best 'bowl of cereal' you'll ever eat. The only downside is that it's a bit of a yuppie-hipster paradise, but don't let that put you off. You're in Brighton after all. Can't wait to go back.
M. W. P.
This is one of the best restaurant in Brighton. The bar is great and makes great drinks. The food is excellent and made of fresh ingredients. Diners can see the restaurant and how the chef prepare the food. Overall it is an excellent restaurant. If there's only one restaurant you will go in Brighton this would be it.
R. E.
Outstanding evening. We had two of the three set menus one vegetarian (with the paired wines)
OMG First time in ages I’ve eaten everything put in front of me & loved every morsel.
Casual atmosphere but wonderfully careing staff. Pineapple & Coconut dessert will be in my dreams for a while ......
W. L.
Some expertly cooked seasonal foods served in a relaxed and unintimidating environment. Some friends also mentioned they had a wonderful stay in one of the hotel rooms upstairs. We will be back to try their tasting menu, you'd need to book for it!
P. B.
Incredible food. Having a set menu in the restaurant gives you 4 courses of creative and adventurous dishes, each cooked to perfection, as well as small tasters and pallet cleansers. Definitely worth a visit if you love experiencing new and exciting food.
S. J.
Visited over the August bank holiday weekend for lunch with a group of friends. We ordered all of the savoury dishes on the menu and devoured and loved every single one of them! The food is modern, imaginative and of a very high standard. The Hemingway Daquiri was so good I ordered two to make sure.
Pay them a visit, it's a short walk away from the mayhem of the centre, but definitely worth it.

From greeting till end , this place was fantastic.
Service
We were served by this fantastic lady that I was overwhelmed by her service that I wanted to ask her name - unfortunately she was busy.
Her attention to detail made me emotionally attached to this place.
Food
We ordered 1starter, 1 main with 1 side and 1 dessert each. Perfect timing, perfect portion and perfect balance of flavours. On this note, the price point was affordable and reasonable.
All the food that I had was incredible. The tripe, the monkfish ceviche, the trout and desserts.
Although, I’m not so sure about wagyu, it was little under my expectation since wagyu is not just a Japanese breed cow for me. It is about the marbling and composition of fat on the meat.
Overall this place need to be 4.8. A place that I can’t wait to revisit.
Thanks for the fabulous lady and the chefs who made those delicious food.
A. K.
Faultless! The food was incredible and the service impeccable. They were very accommodating of our vegan diet and gave us vegan alternatives for everything which was a really nice touch. A real gem in Brighton

Great food, relaxed atmosphere, good service..what more can one ask??!!
R. A.
Really liked the style of the restaurant. The staff where friendly and interactive. The cocktails where great and the food was delicious. All for a good price too!
H. S.
Food was sublime with perfectly accompanied wines. Staff wonderful - friendly, helpful and didn't rush us. The cocktail bar was just as special and staff again brilliant. Its the place to go!
N. L.
Waiting time for each course was long even when the restaurant weren't too busy. Loved the starters (ordered the brocolli), not too impressed with the mains (ordered the Monkfish and it felt like too much was going on, can reduce the paste).
J. B.
Exceptional service, waiting staff extremely knowledgeable of dishes and wines. Food is excellent, my only issue is my partner and I left smelling like a deep fryer. Perks of an open kitchen I guess!
L. C.
The food was good, interesting flavours and staff were polite. Price is middle-upper end, but you do get a lot for your money. I wish restaurants would stop serving food on things other than plates though...
B. G.

Amazing Food, I haven't had better in a long while. The service and atmosphere are warm and welcoming if could give 6 stars I would!
M. H.
Sat at the kitchen counter and it was a pleasure to watch the chef's cook. They all seemed completely in control and calm and didn't mind me asking questions. The food and drinks were amazing.

Staying in the artist residence hotel attached to the restuarant and have to say I'm enjoying every moment of my stay. Regarding the restaurant the food is excellent and staff warm and welcoming. I would reccommend the restaurant, the hotel and the cocktail bar to all and sundry. This is what staying in Brighton is all about.
R. M. F.
So many flavours and textures. Really fun way to spend an evening.
A. F.
Over all great place. Go and try the tapas, you won't get disappointed!
T. H.
The place was empty and it took 35 minutes to make two portions of pancakes which consisted of two tiny pancakes per potion and bacon that had been cooked to death - literally snapped in half. We didn't realise until we left that we had been charged £16 for two proseccos - highway robbery.
m.
Really high quality dining experience. Lived up to the expectations. Seriously recommend
S. D.
You would be unlikely to find yourself in here on impulse. It's not on the main drag and even if you are passing you might miss it. But I recommend that you do take the detour round Recency Square (a stone's throw from Western Road or the sea front) and find the discrete front door to the Set Restaurant for breakfast, lunch or dinner.
S. M.
We had such a nice time, cosy friendly experience and all dishes delicious. I can't stop thinking about the Eccles cake and blue cheese, I want more now!!!!!
A. R.
This place was great. Superb value and you felt like you were on a journey with the food. Great service, superb pacing. Will be going back for sure.
P. C.
Nice feel to the place but the food was disappointing. Good vegetarian options, interesting and sounded great... but poorly done, flavourless.
R. F.
Without a doubt the best taster menu I have ever had. Head chef and staff really friendly and welcoming and excellent value.
P. H.
Superb produce imaginatively cooked in a great location, served by very knowledgeable and friendly staff. One of the best restaurants in Brighton.

Probably the best restaurant in Brighton. Inventive food that’s delicious, wonderful service and a wonderful experience. Not to be missed if you’re in Brighton.

Really really good food but i would say they need to stop concentrating on the hipster decor and more on the food... also mabey take that awful cereal bowl off the menu.
n. m.
We shared an amazing tasting menu with matching wines for lunch. Food spectacular as was the service.
J. C.
Been here four times for Brunch over the last few months and my only niggle would be the inconsistency in the amount/presentation of the food (chef dependant I suspect!), but other than this, its just amazing!
T. H.
Amazing! Food really tasty and amazing cocktails. Not too pricy either.
C. E.
Brilliant. Everything gels together!
