We stopped here for breakfast and were pleasantly surprised. It doesn't look that inviting and it's certainly no frills inside but the food was good, the menu had plenty of options and service was friendly and efficient. The coffee was excellent and the granola fantastic, a really good mix. Good prices too.

Uber-friendly staff set the tone for this quirky coffee/lunch spot. Our over-stuffed cheese and chutney roll (cheddar, brie, mozzarella) was brilliant. Great spot for a quick bite to eat or for to reward yourself after climbing the Christmas Steps.

Pretty good coffee, nice range of snacks and cakes, vegan options, houmous, halloumi wraps, nice location on the corner, gets a lot of sun. Update Oct 21, takeaway rolls, interesting combos, contactless payments only..

Friendly independent cafe with an interesting range of bakery food and wholesome drinks (to some you can add a drop of brandy or rum to make even more interesting).

Cool café... Well placed. It serves delicious breakfasts (their cakes look awesome too) and their coffee is seriously good - although it could be served a little quicker (you can't rush perfection, right)...will definitely go again 😊

Lovely quirky cafe with excellent coffee and possibly the best sandwiches in bristol!

I tried in takeaway in September. Very nice place! The smoothie was good and the cake delicious! Definitely worth the try!

Ou Wow. Loved the food. And such a cool cafe. Chatty and nice staff. 👌

Had the most delicious vegan wrap here called the Easton Trip! The pic is only one half of it! Super yummy and really nice atmosphere with lovely staff!

Friendly, bubbly staff. Coffee, juices and beers all glorious. Yet to try the food, but all looks delicious!

Delicious sandwiches - had the cheese bap and the sausage bap. Unusual and healthy with decent ingredients. Coffee was nice but much too hot which was forgivable as out was a new member of staff making it and we were offered a new one.

I’m in love with this little cafe. Tasty coffee and food, really nice atmosphere and friendly staff.

I love it, when you duck in a coffee shop to get out of the rain and discover a hidden gem.
Came here for coffee and dryness, and discovered, not only exceptional coffee but, excellent service, ambience and a wobbly tap in the toilet!!
This is a place that will remain firmly in my memory and will become my go to, whenever I am in Bristol. Trenchard car park about a quarter of a mile away, so no excuses for not stopping here. You will never, I do mean never, want to go back to Costa or Starbucks ever again.
Been to a lot of small coffee shops, all over the world, seeking a high quality experience and this takes the prize. Coffee is magnificent, it's flavour-tastic people, (I was able to also purchase the beans onsite!); decor is perfect with the vaguest hint of zany; Smiles and friendly chat from all staff.
Gutted, I did not have the forethought to get a photo. If I get back there, I will add /update this.
404 (not found) was found and will become the stuff of legend!!

Best breakfast I've ever had with great locally sourced produce and fantastic service ! What a special place to be with lots of interesting pieces of art and plants inside! *****

Lovely place. We tried the charcoal latte, which tasted great! Will be tempted to try some of the amazing looking cakes or sandwiches next time!

The bread was so delicious I ate it before I could take a pic! Heres a pic of my cat instead ... 5*

Little charming cafe provides quality food and very good coffee. The slow cooked wraps we had were well seasoned with tasty chickpea and rice salad in. Plus, the almond butter milk shake was just incredibly good, probably the best milk shake I've ever had! And the music and the decoration of the cafe match well together which gives a bit a Californian independent coffee shop feel. I'll definitely go back again!

Far and away my favourite cafe in Bristol. Delicious food and drink and the staff are always super friendly. Especially today when I had a smoothie disaster! Thanks for making my husband’s birthday lunch a special treat. Can’t wait to try the 404 Bakes cake!

Great place to just grab a quick drink when on the move.

Seriously good coffee and the food is good. I had planned to stay for a second but this morning was like a nightclub. 3 customers asked to turn the volume down which the guy behind the counter pretended to but barely acknowledged. I appreciate on his side of the counter he was behind the speakers. But the tell for me is when I literally couldn't hear what he was saying to me as I was ordering my food. I kept asking him to repeat himself. The music got louder as I was eating. Several customers asked for the volume to be adjusted as they couldn't have a conversation. I get the need for music for atmosphere and actually the tunes were pretty good- but it's not a nightclub it's a Monday morning and it was so oppressively loud I left before ordering my second coffee and dessert. Really not an enjoyable experience and I would be tentative to return.

Excellent salads, vegan friendly. A useful stop for lunch.

Great coffee - best flat white ihabe ever had and great atmosphere

Popped in here for lunch as we left the BRI, it's a rustic kinda small place, not your typical cafe for sure but surprisingly good food and an interesting drink selection. You'll struggle to find a comfortable seat but the chicken wrap I had was really good and very filling. It's certainly no greasy spoon cafe.

My local café - I love it. Fantastic, creative menu of food and drink, wonderfully lovely staff and great atmosphere. Super choice in music (though it can be a touch loud at times). They also sell succulents for £2. Just great.

I usually head to Park Street for my Friday morning hot chocolate but today fa cued a change and I'm so glad I did.
A delicious looking plethora of cakes (all vegan friendly!), very friendly staff and wonderful and warming orange and cardamom hot chocolate awaited me there. Comfortable seats where I could watch the world go by were an added bonus.
I'll definitely be back and probably make this my regular haunt.

Food is great but the qr order process is absolutely awful to the point where we just gave up. Kept asking us to make an account, deleting our basket every time we were asked to login, then kept asking us to login again on purchase.
R. H.
The wealth bowl was the best lunch I've had in ages, felt good during and after eating it. So often I feel a bit overcharged with food but it's seriously worth every penny, awesome healthy ingredients. Nice one!
A. L.
I work nearby and used to love this cafe but over the past couple of months I have had to stop going as their music is soooo loud, good tunes but you can't have a conversation. I poked my head in again yesterday to see if it was still the same and it was ridiculous. My colleagues have had to stop going there too. I've changed my go-to cafe to The Cloakroom down the road. I loved the food, coffee and vibe here too so it's a shame.

Amazing coffee and great food. If like us you're at the BRCH or BRI walk up to 404 for your daily caffeine in take. So much better than anything at the hospitals and the very short walk and friendly staff will give you some head space away from the wards.

Great coffee bar at foot of St. Micheal's Hill. So welcoming especially as we arrived just at opening time. Good choice of coffees an herbal teas. Tantalising choice of Vegan cakes. So impressed we returned for lunch of St Werberg's salad bowl and choice of savoury wraps.
T. R.
Lovely friendly staff, great looking selection of cakes and salads. I had a very tasty freshly squeezed apple, carrot, ginger & lime juice that was sweet and perfectly ginger-y. Coffee is great and there is a choice of oat m*lk or cow's milk.

I am SO surprised to see that this place doesn't have any reviews yet! It is BRILLIANT. I'm Australian so I have super high standards for coffee and this place smashed it. Quality coffee, wide range of dairy free milk options, awesome barista. The cakes are fabulous too! I work for the NHS so I walk past this place everyday - so convenient to go to if you're visiting the hospital or if you're a student walking to uni. Go go go!
M. W.
I don't usually do reviews but I seriously had to after the coffee you guys served me today, genuinely the best flat white I've ever had.
Really cool atmosphere and lovely Batista's ✌️
If you like coffee you have to come here.
Best coffee in Bristol hands down.

If the earth was flat then this would be the dream ice wall that everyone talks about. Unimaginable food that picks you up from the dark office pits and puts you on par with tiesto mixing to 3000 people. Coffee must have been sourced from other planets too as it literally takes you to outta space. Cannot recommend this gem enough and what the absolute legends in the kitchen cook up for you. Best chat in town too. Respect
D.
Artsy coffee shop serving quality food and a good range of coffees and teas (as well as flavoured hot chocolates). You can eat whilst sat on mismatched furniture, with your food balanced on lemonade crates and contemplate which work you will buy from a local artist on the walls.
The staff were very friendly and attentive and gave some good advice on their range for some fussy party members.
It is a good option if you are attending the BRI, Children's Hospital etc, rather than a standard Costa (not really much price difference either given the quality is on another level).

Just had lunch here. BLT was probably the best I’ve ever had. Looking forward to trying their other options.
New outdoor seating in the terrace is great, would be good in the evenings.get yourself down there!

It had made my day finding out that the barista, Tom is a fellow melbournian. He made me a DELICIOUS dirty chai that transported me back to the laneways of Melbourne. HIGHLY recommended!
K. M.
Really great coffee and cakes and really friendly staff. Bourbon biscuit and white chocolate brownies are AMAZING! Would definitely recommend
W. M.
Esoteric antipodean joint. Outstanding, innovative food, largely vegan/vegetarian but there is some alchemy here whereby food that is ostensibly healthy is made to taste incredibly delicious. First rate coffee and juices and an eclectic music selection make for a great alternative to the general poncery and mediocrity served-up elsewhere.
E. C.
what a gem, truly delicious wholesome and healthy offerings

Went on a bright Sunday. Great place to eat on a Sinsau. They didn't have hot food but great wrap sandwich and make great coffee. Also their playlist is amazing.

Ash and the team, (Belinda, Pedro and Shaniqua) have turned this place around. Excellent coffee, service, and eclectic music which you can’t ignore. The FOOD is top notch.

The soup.. I have dreams about the soup they sell here! It's fricking amazing. Go for the soup, stay and eat the amazing cake :)
C. H.
So unassuming from outside that we nearly walked past but when you come in you are transported into an urban oasis of calmness with excellent juice, scrumptious cakes and fabulous coffee!
T. C.
Great coffee and snacks but the music is far too loud. Almost can't hear a conversation. Big shame
E. M.
Coffee is always amazing and we really enjoyed our brunch today!
J. S.
A nice place with good food and ambience! Its difficult to understand the dishes from the menu ! But you will get used to it !
M. R.
I like this place but the music is really too loud! And I''m pretty sure I'm their target market. The speaker is massive...
Please turn it down!!
