Visited here back in October 2021 and it was a lovely place for dinner. We sat outside in the heated patio and the place was buzzing! The food menu was varied and we were stuck on what we should try but I think we ordered the best things on the menu - duck, chicken, pork and lamb! Would happily return again if I go back to Bristol

I eat here quite often! I've never had a bad meal, always fantastic. I particularly love their lunch offering! They do an offer where you can pick a starter and a main and if you're still hungry a desert too! I always go for their peri peri chicken! It's fantastic. We visited here on Saturday 23rd October 2021. We chose this restaurant by a very happy coincidence. Everywhere else we tried was booked up, so we took a chance on Aqua, and thank the maker we did. It was a fantastic visit. Our waitress was absolutely fantastic, I wish I could remember her name as she deserves a ton of credit. Chatty, attentive, nothing was too much bother for her at all!! The food was utterly delicious too. I had the braised pork cheeks, they were cooked perfectly, so tender and tasty. I highly recommend them! Our waitress found out that my friends and I were celebrating our 50th birthdays and brought us a decorated dessert plate congratulating us on reaching our half centuries. This was, without doubt, the best meal I've had in a very long time. I'd recommend Aqua in a heartbeat!

The most kind and accommodating staff to host us on our big day! The team at AQUA made our wedding really special, and accommodated our friends, family and our dog on the terrace. Fantastic experience. We had the cod and duck, and they were both cooked exemplary. Also had the courgette fritte, again, very good.topped it with choc brownie and pecan ice cream. Very nice food and drinks. Great selection and lovely atmosphere. I had the pork with sauce to start with a slight kick of heat, very tasty, and then perfectly pan fried duck which also had a croquette alongside it. Stunning cider on tap from Cornwall which was very Morish and very generous and giving staff. We will be back for sure! Thankyou for having us.

I visited this place during COVID-19 so I'm sure my experience was a bit different from the normal. However, the sourdough pizza was delicious and the base was perfectly cooked. If you plan on going you must order a portion of sweet potato fries! Great flavour, extra crispy. Burger was good and I would order it again, but I think it was slightly overcooked both inside and outside. Overall, the food had a high end feel with a reasonable price tag, would definitely visit again.

Wow, wow, wow!!! Wonderful setting, dining room was noisy at first. Staff were knowledgeable and attentive without being overwhelming and added to the excellent experience. The food tonight was amazing: Mrs W had scallops, fresh and tasty whilst I had the prawn, mussels and crab bisque (as did my friend). We ordered extra bread to mop up the bisque which was way too good to leave. For mains I had the pork cheeks which was perfect, the pork broke apart at the slightest touch and complimented with fluffy potato and crisp asparagus. Dessert was another indulgent affair whilst the wine - a selection from Italy - was the perfect compliment. We wouldn't hesitate to go back and indeed are already planning our next visit. A perfect location for a special occasion or to spoil your other half.10/10

From the moment we got in we were welcomed by Jean who was very helpful, efficient and friendly, catered to our every need and had a smile on his face throughout, even when the food was delayed he was apologetic and lovely about it. The food was worth the wait as it was very tasty and good potion size... as we were celebrating our anniversary they went above and beyond by serving us a complimentary dessert with Happy Anniversary written on the plate which was just the cherry on top of an excellent evening. The calamari was very chewy but the lamb croquettes were very nice, I had the burger and my partner had the hake. We both enjoyed our meal. Our time slow was between 18:15 and 20:15. We didn't leave until 21:20. I just wish that they kicked us out sooner as 2 of our friends were very noisy. Nice evening overall.

Very disappointed with lunch set menu. Ginger chilli chicken was a tiny part of a breast, like the part at the end of the wing with half of a tiny Pak choi, compared to the peri-peri chicken (half of a whole chicken). Not to mention the ginger chilli chicken was pink inside. Completely disproportionate for the same price. Not like my previous experiences at Aqua and not what you want for a learning difficulties nurse degree graduation celebration meal.

We came across Aqua while heading somewhere else. It seems fairly off the radar, but the breakfast menu looked great and we weren’t disappointed. The team are super friendly, it was nicely busy so as to have atmosphere without it being crowded and, most importantly, the breakfast was fab. They cater to veggies and meat eaters with plenty of options for both. Get a spot by the window and you can people watch those ambling by the river too.

We had the Sunday lunch, I had crispy whitebait starter and the beef main which was £15.95 for 2 courses if I remember correctly. The food was amazing, staff lovely and the place was very clean with a good atmosphere. Will definitely go again! Wish I took photos of the food but only got our drinks - they also do bottomless prosecco!! 😋

Aqua Italian is a large restaurant and can accommodate big groups. The food is quite original and of quality. I had the spicy carrot soup and then the slow roasted lamb in sauce with Mediterranean vegetables. All very good. The staff was very pleasant and smiling. Everything came very rapidly. However the place was a bit loud due to two big tables with loud people... Quite surprising for a Tuesday night but it definitely had an impact on the overall experience.

Overall, the service that I received here was great as all of the staff were happy to talk to you, making you feel much more comfortable. Only took for improvement here (in my opinion) is the toilets, that could do with some more TLC and upkeep.

Fantastic meal with work colleagues and suppliers. We felt safe after noticing 2 HyGenikx Air&Surface sanitising units fitted on the walls to give us that extra protection from Viruses as we were an a large group enjoying our meal knowing all that could be done to protect guests was being implemented. The meal was amazing too and everything from service to quality of the meals was fantastic and we enjoyed the atmosphere. It was wonderful to meet our Nisbets Team and Suppliers after a very long time and share some happy memories.

We came yesterday to celebrate a birthday party with my work colleagues, it was my first time at Aqua and I really enjoyed. Food was good and the atmosphere was lovely and specially our waitress Cristina did a great job, always with a smile, checking that we had drinks all the time and happy to take photos, every time my work mates asked. Good food and service, until the end of the night where the staff thinned out and it took 15 minutes to pay the bill. Inside is sultry dark, but the low ceiling makes it very noisy with other patrons shouting to be heard and then bass based music too. Things get difficult to understand, add that with the staff wearing masks and you don't know what's being asked. And don't forget the 10 percent service charge is automatically added.

Went for a bottomless Brunch with a large group of friends. Juan (I think) was an excellent waiter, especially as I can't imagine it's an easy job serving a bottomless Brunch! There was an issue with one of the breakfasts and it was sorted straight away and didn't have to wait long at all for the correct order to come out. Food was lovely and amazing value for money. We wanted to take the second course away with us, in which they were more than happy to arrange. Thank you, you made my birthday celebration perfect!

Lovely evening We had our second thoughts last night when we got to the restaurant. It looked really nice but it was busy, we didn't want to wait long to be served. But we saw other costumers plates and they seemed really tasty, so we gave it a try. We were worried about the time we had to wait, but I have to say thank you to Estrelia for her excellent service. Even she was busy, she managed to make us feel as the only costumers in the restaurant. She couldn't be more charming and helpful. The food was spectacular, we couldn't be more happy about our decision of staying for dinner.

Our server was Gabi, who was excellent. Really friendly and helpful despite being really busy serving several other bottomless brunchers. My one issue today was that the English breakfast came with a block of cheddar instead of halloumi, as advertised. It would have been good to know this for those of us who requested black pudding be traded for halloumi.

Really nice vibe here, our waitress was lovely. Didn't like the staff leaning over from the the other side of a partition no face masks so close to my guests though, apart from uncomfortable in these times extremely rude! Both mine and my brother's meals (chicken Piri) were raw in and bloody, however they dealt with it really well and sorted it. The rest of the meals and drinks/cocktails were fantastic. Definitely return I think.

Fantastic meal! Had Calamari for starters with a Garlic Cheese Flatbtead to share. Duck two ways for main which was cooked to perfection. Had the Chocolate Dome for two which was both delicious and a spectacular arrival, particularly as the waiter pours over the hot caramel sauce which melts through the Chocolate, to the ice cream and honeycomb underneath. The menu as a whole had a great selection of different meals to suit all tastes. Will be returning soon!

Went for a lateish dinner on a Saturday without a reservation. Waited 15 minutes to be seated which was reasonable. When it came time to order they were out of quite a few things including 2 out of 3 fish entrees and the sourdough appetizer. The food we ended up ordering was quite good. The staff were very busy, and forgot a drinks order, but by the time they came back around we we're halfway through our meals and I opted not to ask about it again

This restaurant has always had a nice view of the river, and generally has a good number of people in it... enough not to feel empty but not so many it's bustling. But now the menu has taken a significant step forward as well. Only popped in as we were passing but really enjoyed the meal. Nice venue, friendly staff and good service, but it's one of those places that's just made to look fancy, so they can charge high prices for what is really just generic pub grub that turns up on something quirky like a block of wood or slate. It's a nice venue and the foods fine, just don't expect restaurant standard freshly made to order food.

Popped in for a full breakfast at around 10.30 on a Tuesday morning. We were the only customers so service was great, both friendly and attentive. Breakfast was delicious, food all very good quality and perfectly cooked. Only off putting thing was the lady mopping the floors around us, the smell of disinfectant not so pleasant, considering the restaurant had been open for 2 hours. Would definitely return though.

Great food and very good wines. Had the fritti misto it had a good variety of seafood and was cooked well. Tried a sea bass on the specials board, lovely price of fish and the sauce was delicious. Went for a valentine's lunch recently. It wasn't especially busy, but a few people were there. Service was excellent. Was quite expensive, however I'm unfamiliar with Bristol dining, so could be average for a la carte. Food was excellent so would happily visit for a meal here again!

Have always liked the Welsh Back branch of this chain. This New Years Eve visit was the first for a couple of years. Firstly, the food was really nice. At first the portions seemed small but in reality they were just fine and value was good (on the whole). The things that made this a 4 star rather than 5 were: 1) despite being told by the waitress that we were not restricted to the 1.5hours of the booking because they were not full, the food came out at a very quick rate which made us feel slightly rushed. 2)The food comes out in shallow bowls which for pasta is fine but when eating a chunk of meat/fish or vegatables etc is uncomfortable and awkward. Hopefully they will revert to plates soon

This restaurant is OK. The waiting staff are it's main asset and they are excellent. Very professional but still remaining human and friendly. The problem is the chef. He or she just can't cook. We were served an unedible steak which the staff changed without hesitation, followed by a steak that was cold and uncooked inside. The staff were brilliant again but at the end of the day this is a restaurant where the purpose is to actually eat some food. Paying someone to cook should mean something special but we really could have stayed at home and cooked something nice. The atmosphere was OK. A big place, quite noisy and canteen like. The only views of the water are the tables at the front so the website photos are a bit deceptive. I'm sad about this as the staff are so lovely but let down by the food. The first steak was just poor quality meat, but the second one was fine and proved that the chef didn't know how to cook a steak.

Went with a friend for an early evening dinner on Wednesday night. Fairly empty to start off but by the time we left the restaurant was very busy. Good selection available on the menu, out of the ordinary for your usual Italian. We both had duck breast with butternut squash and balsamic cherry dressing. Plenty on the plate, there was no need for a side dish, and everything was cooked well. For dessert I had white chocolate and baileys cheesecake that was on the specials menu. I couldn't really taste the baileys but it was still excellent. Two mains, two desserts a glass of wine and a coke was under £25 per head. Well worth a visit, it was a little longer to wait when they got busy but we weren't pressured into leaving, all in all a very nice experience.

Nice restaurant and the staff were friendly enough but the Sunday roast was a bit of a letdown. Fatty pork, roast potatoes that weren’t crispy, those annoying mini carrots which were like bullets and a revolting broccoli and leek cheese gratin. The leek was stringy and the overall appearance very unappetising. The Yorkshire pudding was spot on the the gravy was tasty. My advice would be probably avoid Sundays and roast dinners clearly aren’t they their strongpoint and go on another day instead to enjoy the Italian food

I went to this restaurant for my company's Christmas dinner. Amazing location and ambient. The place is well designed, modern building, located on a cobbled street. But personally, I think the biggest selling point is the location. It's located conveniently in the city centre, easily accessible by foot from Temple Meads Station (around 20 mins walk), great view of the river, it's also near to some bars if you fancy bar hopping. The only slight minus point is the food. The turkey and chicken were quite dry but other than that, it was good overall. I think the price is suitable for the quality food they offer. Lovely and friendly staff too! It can get a bit noisy as the place is not super big. I'd still recommend the place. Worth a try!

Visit this place whenever my mum is in Bristol, as she stays at the hotel next door! It's a beautifully decorated restaurant that serves a wide range of Italian food...and some fantastic cocktails too. The bar staff are also happy to modify cocktails to suit customers' requirements, which is always a good sign. Food-wise, it's not the cheapest Italian restaurant in Bristol, but they quite often have 2-for-1 vouchers and other offers that appear on their website and emails that are sent to their mailing list. I recommend the Pollo Farcito - a breaded chicken breast that has been stuffed with mozzarella and pesto, and served with a herb-buttered spaghetti and crispy onions - it truly is delicious! We also always make sure we order their flatbread topped with crushed garlic, parsley butter and mozzarella - it's amazing! :)
