Service was really good and quick. I ordered the halloumi fries and rump steak with chips, onion, scampi, peppercorn sauce and some veg. Food was really good and steak was cooked perfect. Peppercorn sauce tasted a bit different but that's just my opinion, some of you may like it.

Walk into a lovely atmosphere greeted by lovely staff who make you feel very welcome. The food is absolutely gorgeous and came out exactly as we’d asked it to be cooked (Steak). When we last visited the salad cart was controlled by a member of staff, but thankfully you can help yourself again now with a wide range of different sauces & condiments. We have also had breakfast here, which was just as lovely. The staff work very hard to keep their customers happy & are doing an outstanding job!! Many thanks.

It has been some time since we last went here for food and i have to say what a fantastic time we had from start to finish. The service was great but the food was excellent, my husband had the mixed grill and he said it was cooked to perfection (and he's hard to please so it must have been good) also the waiting time for our food was spot on. We asked our waitress to pass our compliments to the chef, i think she said his name is Kyle. All in all a fantastic time was had and we are already looking forward to our next visit.

Brilliant food , fresh and well cooked we had a good mix of food and everything was delicious! Very clean and tidy and lovely decor. Staff very helpful and well catered for all including families, it's very much the small things ....the baby change area had a seat for the children to sit so mums and dads could use the facilities without worrying where to put the children, very clever and soo helpful! My boy didn't seem to mind it either! Beer garden was big and clean and just lovely. Could spend a lot of time here. Value and quality for your money. Good choice of beer on tap too! Would absolutely recommend and will definitely go again if in the area again!

Given menus on arrival and we sat down to chose. When waiter came over we told him we had groupon vouchers. He immediately said there is a different menu for groupon and proceeded to give us a sheet of A4 with list of foods we could have. Appeared to be mainly burgers. We opted to go from main menu and use voucher another time (burgers okay for lunch). Food was delicious, salad bar great and service was great too. Definately go back

We had a great meal here and our server James was excellent. He was professional, friendly and attentive at the right times. He also explained how we could order things if we changed our minds (e.g the salad bar is serviced by a chef, you just tell them what you want). I loved that the salad bar is only touched by the chef. Having only one person touching the spoons is so important, it made me feel it was a safe place to dine.

Harvester Restaurants always seem to be very friendly and this one is no exception. I'm (pleasantly) surprised how quiet the garden has been on the last few times I've been up there (including a very hot weekend). The salad cart has always been a big pull for me (little known fact: you can buy that by itself as a pub meal, meaning no waiting and no getting presented with something really delicious when you're already full of bacon bits and bread roll!) I thought that having a dedicated member of staff serving the salad as we came out of lockdown was a great idea - it has always struck me that self-service salad buffets will inevitably have germs on the ladle handles. Shame they have stopped (although I realise that like most of the hospitality industry things are likely incredibly tight at the moment).

Went to the Harvester lunchtime, we have never had a bad meal until today. We haven’t been for about 9 months due to covid but was bitterly disappointed. Salad bar manned by staff but that’s not a problem as makes you feel safer only one person touching the serving equipment instead of following after numerous people. Our food was not upto the standArd that we have been used to from harvester. Chicken bbq stack, chicken was very rubbery and not edible, 2 pieces eaten tasteless, chicken gougon that comes with it was like a chicken dipper consistency and over cooked. Other meal 1/2 chicken was pink inside and tasteless. Service cannot fault, we did tell the lad who severd us and said he would feed back to kitchen and he did just that. Manager did reduce our bill but overall disappointed as 3 meals were not upto there usual standard. I wonder whether different suppliers and cheaper ingredients being used, hope not as custom will be lost and I have always loved going there.

Our waiter was very helpful and professional. We did think that another system should be put in place for the salad cart. Guests were milling around the cart, so if that is happening why aren't you going back to guests helping themselves, think it would be better.

I had the pleasure of visiting today with my brother, lots of available disabled parking, the better was nice and friendly. The food was just the right amount in quantity and of very good quality, the scampi was delightful. I fear I may have spotted the chef by taking a picture of the bread rolls to show my wife... They've shrunk since our last visit to a harvester. Overall a very good visit, only downside would be the cleanliness of the disabled toilet, you need a radar key too.

Very nice visit. Decor is nice and everything was well laid out. My husband and I visited for breakfast and we were not disappointed. The server was amazing, he was bubbly, friendly and speedy, exactly what you want in a server. He certainly brightened up our day. The food was tasty and there was a wide variety of choice available. We had the unlimited, which was very good value at just under £10, this included unlimited hot cooked food, cereal, toast, crumpets and cereal. Plus tea, coffee and fresh fruit juice. Can't wait to go back!

Had lunch in the Harvester last week. I would highly recommend the ice cream and the fishcakes and burger were good. Sadly the chicken dinner that my mum ordered was not as good. The jacket potato and the green beans looked tired and the meal should have been hotter. Had many many meals here over the years so think we were just a bit unlucky this time.

Saturday morning treat while spending time with my daughter. We were seated in a timely manner by a friendly lady. We were told that Harry would be serving us and started to look through the menu. As normal my daughter checked the allergen menu on line. There is a new way of taking your order, drinks, toasted items and cereals. Unfortunately, our server didn't tell us that so we were quite confused that he hadn't asked about our hot items. Once our food order was taken it didn't take very long for our food to arrive, as usual my daughter had lots of eggs and hash browns! I changed it up and had pancakes with fruit. Both meals were delicious. We did have a couple of issues with parts of our visit but a telephone call to the manager and they will be dealt with. Overall we were happy. We are also looking forward to visiting again soon

We had a family meal on Saturday 5th March, We we’re running a little late as we were held up somewhere else so I called and the lady I spoke to was very understanding and we were welcomed by a very friendly lady, our party was 2 adults / 2 children, I ordered Simply Salmon, Children had the harvester recommendation rack of ribs and partner southern chicken burger, the food was AMAZING, we were very impressed and our waitress Aimee was fabulous, very friendly and helpful throughout, although it was busy Aimee still went over and above to make sure everything was ok with our food which may I add came out very quickly which was perfect for hungry children. We had an issue with our gift card upon paying which we were gutted about but Mark went out of his way attempting to get it up and running a few times and tried everything even during such a busy evening, We’re very grateful. Like I said the food was really lovely and we will look forward to returning soon.

Update 3*) It's really great to be able to self serve on the salad cart again. I enjoyed my meal and the staff seem nice. Reason for my drop in star rating all the windows are closed and most people are Fanning themselves with the menus we all sat here sweating it's actually uncomfortably hot even the butter packs are runny from the heat I'm not sure what the problem is its normally ok but hopefully something that can be fixed soon. (update 4*) Still great service great food that's well presented and with quick serving time I'd still prefer self service on the salad cart to having someone do it for you but that's my personal opinion. (original 4*) A great place to go for a meal that's warm welcoming and friendly staff (apart from 1). The pub is clean and well maintained although the tables even tho very clean and not sticky they could do with some maintenance as wobbles and not level wich is the only bad thing I found. The food is really nice and well presented it's a fast service so you don't wait long for your food to be brought out to you. I did notice wish the drinks some didn't arrive how it was pictured on the menu as it was missing the fruit. The only thing I would like to se change is the salad cart going back to self serve. Other than that I really enjoyed my visit and look forward to returning again.

First time here and hadn't booked, restaurant was around half full at about 5pm on a Tuesday. Was greeted at the door and shown to our table by Shanaya and given menus. Around 5 minutes later drinks order taken and received, after a further 5 minutes or so Shanaya came for our food order firstly asking if there were any dietary requirements, not being quite ready we had a bit if a chat and laugh with her then ordered, all the while she gave us options and any extras that we could add stating the extra costs, she then showed us to the salad bar, having not been to a Harvester in years we were a little surprised to find you no longer help yourself but have a member of staff filling your bowl for you, while surprising its totally understandable, the waste that must happen due to eyes being bigger than bellys. within 5 minutes of sitting the starters came out, looked nice, good temperature, approximately 10 minutes after starter the mains came out, again, presentation good and temperature good, table checks to see if meal was ok...Shanaya as helpful as ever. On finishing meal we spoke with Shanaya again who was perfectly approachable and friendly, its no surprise she is a supervisor, at most restaurants the staff are nowhere near as professional as she is, she really gave of an attitude of nothing was to much trouble. Having worked in the pub trade for around 5 years she really is a credit, its a difficult job being the face that has to please the public but she seems to be totally at ease and in control at the same time being welcoming and helpful. As a manger its always nice to be told when a member of staff is going above expectations and I made sure to tell the manager before I left. Just a quick edit, one thing I look out for in a place to eat is how clean the menus are, and I am very pleased to say the menus were very clean, I find it incredibly off putting when the menus are covered in mystery sauces and stains No complaints here

Come here often on a Friday night, like a home from home. Pleasant staff, Billy, Aimee and Hazel are lovely. We’re always looked after and food is always hot, fresh and fast. The girls in the kitchen are fab, you can see how hard they work when you’re sat close by. Would be nice to go back to self-service on the salad cart, feels awkward being served and results in a long wait when busy. Note to management - a previous review mentions phone use and this has been heard being mocked in the restaurant.

Great experience tonight, I was a bit annoyed when I arrived to be told to wait as it seems this always happens here but the guy who seated people did his absolute best and got us seated pretty fast. We had amazing food and best of all was the service from our waiter James, he is a real credit to this place! Constantly making sure we were okay and food was okay, asking if we had allergies or if theres anything we wanted etc. He's got great banter as well which is nice!! Well done James! The place seemed full of young families like us, with kids and older couples. Good place for sunday breakfast.

UPDATE REVIEW 7 of us standing at the door for 9am waiting for breakfast. The Crown has had a great refit and was very pleasant. We had a staff meeting and it was amazing!! we all had unlimited breakfast. While we where waiting we had access to cold picks including fluffy american style pancakes with maple syrup. The hot breakfast was fantastic and we all got exactly what we wanted for breakfast which makes a change to the usual English breakfast. A big thank you to our waitress Mara for her patience. - Bit expensive for a mediocre meal. Went with a friend and we both had steak which was ok but the chips, corn and mushroom where all cold on both plates. The salad bar has really gone back to basics as well. At least they still have the red devil sauce. We where told we couldn't book a table on a wednesday evening for 9pm but where able to book it online!!

Excellent service. Very caring staff. On Sunday 28 April we went to the harvester Longwell Green for Sunday lunch to celebrate my dad (Ken)’s 78th birthday the following day. Whilst eating our meal we thought my dad was having a possible stroke or heart attack. We just wanted to say a big thank you 🙏 to the male waiter who was serving us and another male member of staff who I think was a health & safety person (I didn’t get your names) you rang rapid response and kept an eye on my dad until the paramedics arrived. You were both fabulous . My dad was assessed at the ruh in bath & was released that evening and all ok. No sign of a stroke or heart attack. Thank you again. You were very kind and gave us a discount as well as none of us finished our meal as all in shock. People take time to write bad reviews but not always the good ones.
