Veggie Burger is absolutely amazing! Best thing I’ve had from here. I get it weekly. Their chips are SO MUCH BETTER lately, idk what they changed but it is working! Fish is okay, it’s often pretty soft and I like my fish crispy but it tastes good. Maybe it has to do with being in the box. Curry sauce is fantastic and the onion rings are greasy but so delicious. The restaurant is always so clean, which I really appreciate. Staff is always friendly and quick.

Went here last night and had the most delicious battered halloumi and chips. I bought a sausage for my dog and they added an extra one to which was so lovely! I think you mentioned that when we said and I didn't hear properly, so just wanted to say thank you :)

Just had a takeaway for the family from Fairbanks and the fish and chips tasted absolutely amazing, customer service was really welcoming and friendly and the food was very good value for money, While also being served quickly! will certainly be coming back again soon!

Great gluten free fish options (only on Sundays and Monday sadly) and good portions with online ordering options (50p 'admin' charge). Clean and efficient, very impressive.

Absolutely fantastic fish and chips. Always beautifully cooked. Tasty quality fish and batter. Gluten free batter and Poached fish are available but check for availability of this before making a journey. Fairbanks is take away only with no sit down facilities. Prices have gone up recently, but given the world we live in, this is to be expected.

The staff were friendly and helpful and the quality of the food was great. We were very impressed and heartfelt thanks for this generous donation allowing us to raise more funds from the event. An excellent traditional chippy. great, polite and fast service while getting great valued meal. the cod is always fresh and the chips are cooked to perfection, always nicely served, the batter has that great color as well as the perfect amount of crispiness to it, the flavour take you to the shores of plymouth. they also have great side dishes such as battered halloumi and sausages. this place also offers an alternative batter to meet other dietary requirements. these guys are single handedly saving winterbourn and they are doing a fantastic job, all in all they get my vote everytime and my 5 stars.

One of the two best fish and chip shops I have visited in the south of England. Fish are well cooked, tasty crisp batter, chips chunky and equally nice. The portions are large, very very generous. Its not cheap, but the best never is.

Possibly the best Haddock we've ever had. Batter was just perfect, not inches thick and floury like so many other fish shops. Chips were fresh and very tasty. The Doner kebab was also extremely fresh tasting and not one of the mass produced elephants legs you get in all the usual kebab shops. Excellent takeaway that actually takes pride in its products.

Have been there twice now and cant believe i didn't visit sooner, there were large queues twice but plenty of staff so the queue moves fast. The first visit were cod bites and chips and were as good as any i had tasted. the 2nd visit we ordered their Pizzas which were absolutely fantastic far better than you would expect from a village fish and chip shop, will definitely return. one other note was that the parking was busy due to its popularity but there is a car park opposite behind the shops. 5/5

Not cheap, But very generous portions of VERY good fish and chips makes it brilliant value. I challenge anyone to eat a large portion of their cod and chips and be able to honestly say "I wish I'd bought some more" ! :) A single large cod and chips will easily stuff 2 greedy kids, And 2 large cod with 1 large chips is going to fill a pair of even the hungriest adults. The portions are that big !!! Whenever I fancy fish and chips, I always drive away from the 3 shops that are a lot closer to home and accept the 20 minute drive to get here as the price you pay for good food. Edit - Since I originally wrote this the shops changed hands. It seems that the new owners realised that they were not only buying a fish and chip shop, But they were also buying its reputation. The quality is just as good now as it was under its previous owner. Everything tastes exactly the same as before, and the portions are still as OTT as ever. :) It doesnt happen often, but it seems that the new owners have decided not to change things for the sake of changing them, or cut corners. They've stuck with what the previous owner proved works ! Hats off to them for that.

Decent enough chippy. When it first opened & for initial 9 - 12 months it was a 4 star. For me battered fish not a nicely cooked as they used to be. Maybe they changed ingredients / supplier?
