Lovely sushi, I highly recommend the sweet shrimp, as well as the squid. The wakame seaweed salad is a must have! The staff are always so lovely and polite here too.

Absolutely recommended because of the warmth welcome from a young lady. As a hotelier first impression is very important for me. She was professional and did everything for us to have a perfect valentine's dinner even we didnt had a booking. Delicious hot traditional ramen , we had the 26 cos sushi which was totally fresh and gyoza were shiny and hot as well. We will visit again. Thank you for fantastic dinner. Not very busy for Saturday dinner. Parking in Clifton is difficult. Restaurant main dining is downstairs. Food was good. Try the set menu for sushi. Value with variety. The rolls were nicely wrapped and flavourful. The dons (rice bowls) is reasonable sized with good portion of meat. Teriyaki sauce is a tad sweet but still delicious. Ramen looks appetizing as well. Overall a good time experience.

I ordered three dishes: Salmon nigiri, takoyaki and chicken katsu curry. The food was good overall although I have a few complaints. They are unaccommodating to customers with dietary restrictions (I cannot have alcohol) and they only stock alcohol based soy sauce according to the staff. I had to have my sushi plain without the soy sauce unfortunately which is a shame. Secondly I don’t particular like the way they serve chicken katsu curry with rice - in a small plastic bowl which keeps moving around the table every time I’m trying to scoop out the rice. The katsu chicken was delicious but the katsu curry could do with a bit more seasoning. I wish they have non-alcohol based soy sauce alternative otherwise I would return to this restaurant.

The sushi itself is great, especially mackerel sashimi and the soft shell crab temaki, but we had a lot of trouble ordering some extra after lots of walk ins arrived and the staff got a bit stressed, when we asked for three more dishes, it was met with a sigh and then the order came out wrong, it’s also lucky we didn’t want any more drinks, as one was forgotten but still charged, which then took a while to correct. There was also a couple separately and loudly FaceTiming people on the next table, perhaps they could have been asked to be a bit more considerate of other diners rather than also ignored. All that aside though, we always like coming here before the theatre, and as long as the quality stays this good and the prices don’t escalate, we’ll be back. :)

Good fresh sushi, also tried the chicken katsina curry that was under £10.00. The chicken was amazingly crispy, the sauce delicious and a good portion of rice, potatoes and carrots. Very delicious food in a relaxed environment. Highly reccomended. Good value.

Mixed feeling with this place. Sushi set was very good and the starters too (gyozas and takoyaki) but the main dishes were just alright (the rice dishes had a small bowl for the amount of food so it was difficult to eat it without dropping food on the table) and the ramen was so so (the egg looked almost fried) The place is not expensive and we had good time as the staff was nice and the food came at the right time. We paid £90.45 for 4 people with a bottle of house white wine (no desserts or after-dinner drinks)

A hidden gem of a restaurant in Clifton with ample seating to be found downstairs. I visited with a group of friends (incl. small child) and thoroughly enjoyed sharing a number of tasty dishes from the rather extensive menu, as well as having a large beef bowl to myself. Well worth a visit.

Great sushi & great service! We were very hungry and had the food on our table within minutes! My recommendation for sushi would be: unagi rolls, soft shell crab rolls, yakitori rolls. Teppanyaki Beef was amazing, very tender! Will defo come back here!

Sooo delicious. Our favorite are the Japanese Fried Udon and the Salmon Futomaki roll. The chef and waitresses are so welcoming and kind. It has become our weekly Japanese spot in CV. Update Jan 2022: We have continued to order from Fujiyama regularly during the pandemic. Tonight we went in person and the staff were so kind and attentive, the food was delicious as always, reasonably priced, and the service was very fast. We realized we should dine in here more. Fujiyama remains our favorite Japanese in Bristol.

The only downsides were that the waitress tried to place us sat right next to another couple when the place was otherwise empty, and that the same waitress was also giggling whilst leaning over me to clear our table which was a bit odd & confusing

In my opinion, the best Japanese in Bristol. Definitely our go to place for Japanese food. Prices are very reasonable, and the quality of food (especially the sashimi and sushi) is outstanding. Far better than the London Japanese restaurants for quality. If I could give 10 stars, I would.

The order of a sushi selection and udon noodles and hand rolls was delivered to the correct address, promptly and transported with care. The cold items were cool when they arrived and hot food was hot when delivered, they were in separate bags. The food was delicious. And the sushi came with pickled ginger, soya sauce and wasabi sachets. The food was prepared with expertise and presented with finesse. The delivery driver was professional and courteous. The food ordering was very easy to complete , the order was fulfilled correctly. The food was so enjoyable , I find myself transported to the Japanese countryside in autumn , with falling cherry blossoms , the pounding rythm of kodo drummers, or perhaps the expert swordsmanship of ancient samurai's unsheathing their swords ready for battle, as my swordsmanship is as unyet unproven I find myself instead opting to lie on the sofa and I cancel my gym session for this evening.
