First time here... Banquet night £15 for Starter..main..side dish and rice/nan. Food was really tasty...freshly cooked..Chicken Chana puri starter was fab..and filling! Main... Partner had sag prawn with extra spice..she loved it..I had prawn madras - was good. Sides dishes were excellent..lentil daal..awesome. Add a £5 bottle of large Bangla and it was a bargain for £20 each. Service was very good also.

Very nice restaurant. Modern decor and well spaced tables. Good menu selection and competitive prices. Food was very tasty and was serves in good time by very polite and professional staff. Also had coffee with cream to finish, which not all restaurants do in the locality. Also no pressure to finish your meal and conversation to release the table.

Top dollar, not in price, but in service, worth a visit

Good food, had the Begun Bahar and the Jhaz Gozt. However the service was WONDERFUL. We had popped in for dinner after a long drive from north Wales with our 4 month old daughter. The staff fussed over us and our daughter, even holding her so my wife and I could eat our meal without having to do so ourselves. Couldn't speak more highly of them.

Had the first take away meal from Ghandi restaurant yesterday. All dishes were very well flavoured, not too greasy, decent portions and very tasty. Friendly and speedy service too. Excellent choice for a grey and rainy Sunday afternoon!

Went with Chicken Tikka Jalfrezi, and Keema Rice. The chicken fell apart on my plate, and melted in my mouth, absolute perfection. The Jalfrezi was a wonderful flavor, just the right thickness to the sauce, but not as spicy as i would have hoped, but i really like hot things, so it's likely just right for most people. The Keema rice was possibly the best I've had. Washed down with a cobra beer (better than kingfisher 😋). Staff were friendly and attentive. Can't complain about the facilities.

We booked a table in here and when the food eventually arrived it was delicious. However the service was pretty bad - drinks were forgotten, required several reminders to get things we had asked for and about 90 mins until our main courses arrived. This place seems to focus on takeaways to the detriment of people at tables in the restaurant. But the quality of food is good.

Nice Indian. I thought the food and menu were nice, Wednesday's are the best time to go as they do the 3 course for £12.95. Service is friendly and they are welcoming. Decor is nice. I had a chicken tikka mosala which had a bit too much sauce but was still tasty.

The food is good, but the service was very slow. We waited an hour for our main course and it took 30 minutes for the bill to be brought to the table after asking for it.

Not eaten in the restaurant but after mistakenly ordering a takeaway from The Ghandi rather than the usual Indian it has become our favourite takeaway in Portishead. Judging by how packed it gets on a Saturday night we're not the only ones to be impressed with the food and service.

Nice Indian, was a bit disappointed with the special I got (the very mild vegetarian one that began with N) because I'd asked for it to be not that mild and it also had potato croquettes on which I found a bit unusual but my friend got the vegetarian bhuna which was really nice, the staff were nice and the price reasonable

Had a great meal the other night, there was a waiter with a London accent who was very helpful when my wife couldn't decide on a curry, in fact he was able to make a dish that wasn't on the menu which was amazing by the way, highly recommended.
