It's a shame that the prices over the last 6 months have spiralled far above the cost of other shops providing the same products. To be honest the quality of the food has gone down as well. Not just my opinion but friends have said the same!!!

The food at this fish and chips is wonderful the portions of fish and chips are huge and comparing the prices of other fish and chips around it is the cheapest, however the other fish and chips are more expensive and the portions are smaller To add, all the food in this fish and chips tastes special.

We went to Happy Cod because our usual fish shop (Prince's on the Fishponds road) was shut and I'm really glad it was - because this place is much better. The portions of chicken are HUGE and the chips are generous too. The quality was also better than Prince's chip shop. The only downside was the staff's spoken English - which was good enough for ordering but not quite good enough for banter. But I'll certainly be using this place as regular chip shop in future.

Absolutely delicious! Our usually chippy was shut for a refurbishment for a couple of months so we gave Happy Cod a try and oh my... its absolutely delicious. Brilliant portion sizes too. Unfortunately I've removed a star as the staff can come across as a bit rude at times, but that may just be where they're so busy.

Top fish&chips take away for now!!!! All fish really fresh not from hot cabinet. Chips are superb fresh and nice long not like in others places where you can get chips from baby potatoes. Oil in my opinion is changed/filtered daily and not burned over the day as usually in other places. Prices are really low for what you get. Clean and shiny place. Perfect.

Chips were lovely and plenty of them. My son enjoyed his sausage. But my pie was a let down. I couldnt cut it open. Filling was lovely but pastry was very hard.and dry. We will call again.

Great value for money. Got the doner meat with chips for under £6 - could have fed two!! Highly recommend the garlic mayo. Only 4 stars as my preference is a more crunchy chip (they were a little soft) - but totally personal preference!! Now my local.

OUTSTANDING Fish & Chips! We struggled to get decent fish & chips for many years in Bristol, now we know we can get delicious food cooked with such dedication every time by nice people striving to keep our great tradition alive! Keep up the good work!! Update 2018, Oh dear the chips have been on a slow decline recently and todays were 50% inedable! Shame, we thought the standard was constant. Whats gone wrong? Update! Don't panic normal service has resumed back to 5 🌟
