Reviews of Poco Tapas Bar
L. B.
Really lovely little restaurant. Went here for a lunch on Sunday. The service was attentive and the food exceptional. Very fresh, it’s written on a blackboard where all the ingredients come from. It felt like a nice mix between an English Sunday lunch served in a tapas/sharing style. Also a very good selection of local beers. Would definitely recommend and would definitely come back.
A. M.
Great tasting and creative dishes with a great focus on sustainability.
We had the ‘Root to fruit’ set menu which was entirely vegetarian - thoroughly enjoyed every dish there was and cannot fault a single detail.
L. F.
My boyfriend and I went here for our anniversary, straight away we were greeted by really lovely staff and some prosecco. We both had the Root To Fruit sharing menu which was such an amazing experience. Most of the dishes we had I couldn't get photos of because of how good they tasted and how quickly we ate them! Would definitely reccomend going here, it is a beautiful place with food like no other and wonderful staff.

Stumbled across this on a trip to Bristol, a superb restaurant. Great local food, fantastically made and a great atmosphere. Also dog friendly which was great for our puppy and local beer friendly, which was great for me 🍻
O. M.
A quirky and fun dining experience with superb food and an energetic atmosphere. We went as a group of 4, with 1 of our party having a gluten and onion intolerance. The restaurant focuses on small sharing plates, and they honestly catered to our every need, making separate gluten free dips, bread etc.
The menu is really diverse and exciting, we tried so many dishes we would not typically order (such as goat, pigeon, fennel) and each dish was so delicious.
Great experience with super friendly and welcoming staff. I offer specific praise to floor staff Róisín and Hugo, and of course the chefs.
Cosy and intimate sized restaurant with fantastic interior too.
I will definitely pay another visit to Poco if I visit Bristol again!
B. M.
A wonderful dining experience. We were in for a treat as the seasonal Nose to Tail menu and each dish was absolutely sublime. Each was full of flavour and absolutely delicious! The team in the kitchen are incredible and the service attentive and impeccable. Highly recommended and will needless to say visit again next time we are in Bristol.
M. G.
Really lovely food and really lovely attentive service. Would recommend. It is a set menu so a little less of a "classic" tapas experience but that doesn't take anything away from the quality of the food and really nice venue. Would definitely recommend!
R. L.
Visited on 11/04 for a date night meal, and wow, so impressed! The food is all locally sourced and was fantastic, very refined and incredibly tasty! Staff really friendly, lovely vibe to the place, but the food was just fantastic. Will definitely be returning and would highly recommend! Thank you Poco Tapas Bar for a lovely evening!

Searched google for Tapas restaurants in Bristol and Poco came on top, so we thought we'd give it a try and what a delight.
We had a set the vegetarian Tapas menu not knowing what to expect for £27pp, it was one of the best £27 I have ever spent on food.
All the small plates delivered we executed perfectly, flavours were married well and it didn't stop there.
The wine we chose was perfect. And the chocolate pot for desert which was yummy.
As for the service it was very homely, all the dishes were explained as they arrived at the table and the waiter who sorted our bill was a charmer.
Thank you for our perfectly scrumcious Tapas Sunday set lunch.
We would of loved more meaty options but the vegetarian option was perfect.
H. C.
Just incredible. Took myself out after work and even though they were fully booked I was accommodated, made to feel at home and furnished with the most delicious food and drinks. The menu changes, but one staple that is very enjoyable is the white negroni. Will be back again soon!
H. A.
So many great flavours! Aubergine dish on the veggie meal was excellent. Loved having Pedro Ximenes with clotted cream ice cream. Friendly, efficient service.
M. L.
Placed in a cramped corner spot looking at the walls. Expect a lively and loud atmosphere and in our case very slow service. Veg was fresh and tasty but limited in variety. Due to table space plates were too small and fish sauce spilled onto the table. Would expect better given the price.
J. W.
We visited for dinner and had the nose to tail set menu, every dish was interesting, full of flavour and absolutely delicious. It was one of the best meals we’ve had in a long time. What’s more, the atmosphere was relaxed and the service was incredibly friendly. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in town. Thank you.
S. B.
Had one of their friday night cook at home kits. Loved it! Easy to make the food. Tasted great. Now I want to book a table when they next open!
H. P.
Some of the best tapas I've ever had. The cured monkfish was excellent and the venison was the real showstopper. The wine was beautiful and all in all great value for money.
P. G.
Fab food and service. Really enjoyed the evening. It also felt good value which isn't always true for tapas type restaurants.
B.
One of the best meals I've had in the UK. I had the duck casserole, mussels and fish of the day and they're all excellent. Portion is appropriate for the price and quality of food. Will visit again if I'm in Bristol again!
F. A.
Super delicious food, surprising combinations of seasonal ingredients. Not the typical Spanish tapas.
All the ingredients are locally produced in close contact with the farmers and bakers and so on. It's nice to read information about where your food comes from.
Well priced. Friendly and helpful staff.
The hygiene of the toilet could have been better. And due to the kitchen being in the middle of the restaurant, it was very warm inside and our clothing and jackets smelled like food the next morning.
All and all we had a great time en enjoyed the food very much!
N. K.
Lovely, light airy space, delicious - really, really delicious! - food, and cheerful, friendly staff. We loved it!

I've been to Poco for years now and it is an excellent place for brunch. I used to always get their Moroccan Scramble, which has recently been replaced with steak and eggs, as pictured. It's not quite as good as it was, but it's still amazing food. My pescatarian girlfriend also loves their field mushroom dish.
J. D.
Really impressed with this little venue, amazing menu choices and fantastic flavours. Service was friendly and attentive. The scallop, pork and potato were my stand out dishes but I enjoyed everything else as well.
K. O.
Delicious and great service. Generous amount of food, we couldn't eat it all which is a very rare thing!
V. N.
Amazing food! The marrowfat pea, confit garlic and rosemary fava with sourdough was one of the best things I’ve ever eaten. It was so moorish. Everything is delivered with finesse.
N. R.
I was there for on a Saturday for brunch. Went for the veggie option with mushroom and kale, which was tasty. Even better accompanied by their twist on Negroni ;) Friendly and attentive service.
E. D.
Amazing food and lovely atmosphere! It was very busy tonight (Saturday night) but the service was still great. Will definitely come again. I recommend the onglet!
K. S. d. S.
Really good, as always!
Exquisite food and friendly staff. You rocking guys!
A. S.
Absolutely incredible. THE best meal I've ever had. Between our group we tried the meat, fish and vegan menus and all 3 were so special. Even the starter of bread and hummus was the best I've ever tasted. It was all so carefully thought out, the attention to detail was amazing and the staff were so attentive. It was so reasonable and we only paid £50 each for a tasting menu, shared bottle of wine, espresso martini and a shared pudding! Would highly, highly recommend for a special but reasonably priced meal out.
J. M.
Very nice atmosphere and attentive service. If you love fermented things like I do, it's great. Only thing is, I would say that 4 dishes I had were what you describe as a small plates/ tapas but the main didn't work. I was given a venison dish to share which was like a very posh Sunday lunch (was amazing). It had a plate of veggies and a plate of Portuguese "punched" potatoes. The dishes were side dishes and it felt like sharing a Sunday roast. I think if it's Tapas/ sharer plates, each plate should be it's own dish rather than a plate of roasted vegetables and starchy carbs to fill you up. Instead I would have preferred a vegetable dish that shone on it's own. That said, the other dishes were very, very good.
P. P.
This cosy cafe in the afternoon transforms into a Tapas bar as the sun goes down. We had a lovely degustation of a few tapas on the menu and enjoyed it thoroughly, specially the duck with cranberry and chestnuts and the venison (pictures below). I’ve been before for coffee and cake to indulge myself!
C. M.
A message I sent to my better half after one of our first dates was at Poco..."the potatoes though! After all our time talking and going together, all our dates etc... what's the one thing that stands out? I'm not even mad you are thinking about those potatoes because I am too😅😅 x
N.
Incredible Nose to Tail set menu. Nice atmosphere and great service. Must try for tapas lovers.
Will definitely be back.
J. D.
The restaurant is super cozy and the menu on offer is incredible. It left us not wanting another bite: dessert was a struggle! The food and drink on offer is clearly top quality and we'll considered, and you're in for a really cool experience. The night we visited we had pigeon and goat: two meats I'd never thought I'd see on a menu together. The staff were efficient and friendly, and at the end of it all, I was thoroughly impressed with the price! This is fine dining on a regular budget!
R. C.
The staff is superfriendly and the menu quite original. I particularly found the starters and dessert a bit bland but the main (red gurnard) was very delicate and flavorful
C. F.
The menu rotates regularly and if you are up for trying new things that taste great this is the place. The staff were friendly and the food was great
L. H.
One of the best restaurants I've ever been to. The food is bold but harmonious, everything is served to perfection and is a complete pleasure to taste. The staff are friendly, helpful and relaxed and the vibe is open and not pretentious. We will definitely go back!
H. S.
I mean is there a better place in Stokes Croft? A real stalwart of the food scene in this part of the city… currently running an amazing set menu. I kinda hope they keep it. Great local produce, fab service, lush drinks. Always an enjoyable evening. Gluten free bread is the best I’ve ever had - wish I had got the name of the bakery they got it from. Everything gluten free the night I went so didn’t feel like ‘the awkward one’. Always recommend to friends.
F. T.
Nice tapas bar with amazing view of the heart of Stokes Croft! Food is really well cooked and the environment is friendly and easy going. Vegan Friendly
T. M.
The best restaurant we've been to in Bristol, one of the best we've been to in the UK. We had the vegan menu - delicious and creative and varied dishes, you won't be left hungry! Similar culinary approach of seasonal produce to Wilson's (also excellent) but Poco takes it with the variety/attention to detail. Also great setting/friendly staff, can't wait to return and try a different month's goodies!!
L. G.
Deliciously filling, small, and diverse plates. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Amazing experience!
S. G.
A great spot for breakfast, lunch or dinner - this Stokes croft staple offers a range of locally sourced produce from across the South West in modern small plates, tapas plates and sharing plates.
For breakfast don't miss out on the bloody mary to soothe the sore head, followed by the field mushrooms or merguez sausage scramble.
Can be a slight wait on food since it's popular and there is a small kitchen, but well worth the wait.
T. M.
Made a mistake with the cocktails, not to my tastes!
However the whole vibe of the place was great, awesome chill bar nice music and excellent food. Had some really delicious potato snack before heading off.
J. H.
Great spot. We chose the vegetarian tapas selection. Six good sized dishes to share, all of which were delicious with subtle and unusual but seasonal flavours and ingredients. The wine (Westerlies from The Douro) was spot on. Not cheap but a real treat.
d. d.
Lovely little place. Popped in for lunch, I had the pheasant leg, so much flavour and the bread was amazing. Can't wait to go back for full Tapas
D. M.
Came for the first time in a long time to one of my favourite restaurants in Bristol and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. They now offer a choice set menus rather than a mix of tapas plates, we had the venison option which was fab, great mixture of dishes brought to use throughout the sitting, waiting staff are great and attentive and the chefs smashing it as ever - 10/10!
T. F.
Awesome awesome awesome!!!
Best tapas in the South West, amazing staff, speedy service.
Always order the sharing platter plus deep fried oysters that way you get the whole menu for £30p/p!!
J. E.
Lovely well thought out tasting menu, delivered with care and kindness. Would fully recommend.
M. M.
Fantastic brunch with excellent coffee. Highly recommended the bacon and egg toasted sandwich or the mushroom and egg on toast.
E. H.
Amazing, local, ethical food crafted into tasty and creative dishes. Not to be missed.
D. W.
We had their Fish and Game tapas at home kit - it was an absolute treat. Wonderful combination of courses and great quality. Packaging and instructions all tip-top and they had posted photos online as well so you can have a go at plating-up to their presentation standard. Was fun.
A. D.
Amazing food. Good atmosphere and friendly staff.
M. S.
Amazing find- food was incredible and the staff are lovely.
N. A.
Went for my birthday meal last night and had a brilliant time! All the staff were extremely welcoming and helpful and the food was absolutely delicious. Thanks for a great evening Poco team!
J. B.
Such a great restaurant - was totally blown away. Terrific food, locally sourced and prepared wonderfully. Would recommend Poco to anyone looking for a restaurant in the city and beyond, truly wonderful.
R. P.
I’ve been to Poco a handful of times and every single time has been amazing! The food is ridiculously good and on my most recent visit I went with a friend who is veggie and there were so many options. The staff are lovely, super friendly and relaxed which helps create a chilled out atmosphere. The open kitchen is really cool as you can see the chefs cooking everything right in front of you - everything is super fresh and seasonal. Would recommend to anyone who loves food!
G. C.
Superb!
Amazing food, amazing presentation, lovely staff!
S. O.
The standard of food in Bristol is the highest quality in any city we have eaten, we had take away and the food was so fresh it tasted like it would at the restaurant. Hats of to the team behind this, absolutely smashing it up there with the best food in the city. Fish burger is insane
B. C.
LoVely to be able to go in Pocos again. Chilled, earthy space to sit in. Small but perfect.. You can get your space and just relax. Fantastic chefs with fantastic ideas.. All about local , seasonal food prepared with imagination and where you can really enjoy the flavours of each season, in delicious drinks as well as food.I do miss staring at the paintings that used to hang in there, they so suited the space. A special place in Bristol heartlands ❤️. Ps the service was lovely as well. Warm and friendly, Thankyou. Long live Pocos
🌿🌿. 🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿. 🌿🌿.

Food was amazing, service was grate. They also make a grate coffee during the day.
P. B.
Visited for dinner on a trip to Bristol in Summer 2019. It was actually our fallback option but I'm glad our other choice fell through. Seriously excellent and creative food and great ambience. Would definitely go back if we're ever in that part of the world!
M. D.
Wonderful food, love the vibe in the place, great staff
J. 1.
What a find! I'm not in Bristol often, but had a meeting and this was the suggested location. What an amazing place. Wonderful setting, fabulous atmosphere, the most friendly, polite staff. The coffee was outstanding as was the food. One of the best little eateries I have ever had the pleasure to visit and with a casual vibe and seasonal, fresh produce, you cannot go wrong - this is my new favourite place!
O. U.
Beautiful food and a very well thought out set menu featuring a lovely emphasis on local produce, drinks as well were all localised and very nice indeed!
D. M.
We had the best time in Poco- walked in off the street with no booking and we're seated straight away. We had the set menu at £39 for two- which initially felt expensive but after eating an endless amount of incredible delicious food it felt very reasonable. Great atmosphere and music and staff were lovely. Food is locally sourced and masterfully cooked. It's my new favourite place and can't wait to go again.
L. D.
The whole menu seems to be very tasty, and I love that a lot of it is locally sourced (maybe all of it?) but man is it pricey!! Also when we went it was super busy and you do often seem to have to queue to get in.
S. R.
Amazing locally sourced seasonal ingredients and super friendly and accommodating staff. Recommend for a perfect date night or special occasion
P. C.
I know it is going to be a good meal when I would happily order every item on the menu. There is a great variety and a particularly good selection of veggie dishes - as you'd expect for a restaurant in the heart of Bristol's graffiti wrapped Stokes Croft.
They serve tapas-style small plates, I shared with a friend ordering five plates and some olives, and it was just right. The single hand dived scallop was a stand out dish, reminding me why scallops are considered so special - it tasted of the sea in the way only truly fresh seafood can.
I had their homemade tonic water to drink, which was refreshing and pleasingly, subtly, different from the usual tonic flavour.
A great value meal, and somewhere that manages to pull off the difficult combination of being a place to casually pop in to as well as somewhere for a special occasion. My recommendation is to treat yourself and go ready to enjoy.
T. S.
One of my favourite restaurants in Bristol (maybe the best?). Quality cuisine that is responsibly (and usually locally!) sourced. Delicious and varied flavours and wonderful cocktails too! A must visit.
K. G.
It was one of the best food experiences in Bristol so far. The atmosphere was relaxed, the food and artwork inspiring, the stuff was super friendly and helpful despite the busy time. Cornish mussels were the best thing I had in my mouth since a very long time and local gin was in the really good price. Well done Poco's team!
E. P.
Great cocktails, very good tapas. Overall the food was really nice with the exception of a very odd tasting bean chocolate cake. Unfortunately the service was terrible on this occasion which really let the place down. Arriving the lady at the door acted as if she didn't want to seat us and couldn't be bothered. We then suffered through exceptionally long waits for drinks, and ordering additional food, dessert, and paying the bill. Our drinks didn't arrive until after the food started to come and only after asking what happened to the drinks. Shame as the reviews on service here are great so maybe just an off night. One other note, stick to veggie tapas, much better than the meat ones in our opinion. Would go back to give the service another shot.
A. S.
This place is nailing it! The food is excellent, really interesting flavours and good quality. Fantastic interior and atmosphere, with accommodating and personable staff.
L. J.
Poco has always been enjoyable. The variety of the food is such that there is always a choice for meat eaters, veggies and vegans. Its predominantly local produce from ethical producers, the wine menu is great and the espresso martinis are really good too. The atmosphere is great, the evenings is always busy and can get a little noisy but that's like a true spanish tapas bar right? Definitely a place to try.
L. K.
Delicious food from quality local farms and suppliers. Great experience overall, a definite five star from me.
c. e.
Lovely place for brunch. The field mushrooms on sourdough was epic 🤤
R. H.
Local produce used to great lovely tapas dishes. They’ve got a nice selection of vegan and veggie dishes as well as choices for the meat eaters. A good drinks selection to. We had dinner but they also do brunch and lunch.
D. H.
Best restaurant in Bristol! I live in London and come here every time I visit. Inventive dishes, quality ingredients, transparent about provenance, creative presentation and great service. Vibrant atmosphere and located in Stokey, a quirky arty neighbourhood full of bars and restaurants. Try the English white wine! Surprisingly good! Well done Poco 👌👌👌
J. R.
Food was lovely, only complaint was that it all arrived at different times. This was advertised, but I feel there should have been a way of making it so there wasn't a 10-15 min wait between getting the greens and the potatoes to go with them, as greens by themselves are not the most exciting.
Otherwise, positive visit, would go again.
J. S.
We love Poco. This is a great little place in the heart and soul of Bristol.
Poco is famous for its small dishes and excellent attitude towards food. The walls are covered in pictures and information about where the food is grown / reared in the areas surrounding Bristol and you do get a sense that they genuinely care, rather than it just being a gimmick.
The plates are varied and delicious, well worth several visits to cover all the available options and ratio of veggie and meat dishes is balanced and all are delicious.
There is a short but interesting cocktail menu, along with wines and the usual local beers and ciders. Last night's favourite was the tequila and marmalade cocktail: 5*.
The seating at the front is very informal, some face the ever- entertaining people's republic of Stokes Croft and some are design for small groups to sit around on high stools. At the back is more intimate and cosy, with wooden tables configured to meet the evenings diners. Great for a romantic 2 or a party of 10 equally.
Overall a great place with the only gripe being the wait on the ever popular cocktails. If it's busy, order drinks straight away or you food might arrive first.
As ever, thanks to the team of knowledgeable and friendly staff at Poco.
E. S. P.
Food was delicious. The cold part of the set menu (when we were there) had a goats cheese that I would rather have for breakfeast than dinner, but all in all good. The whole menu is close to vegetarian, which I bet a lot of people appreciates.
The atmosphere could have had a little more identity to it. If you took the tables away and put desks there instead it could just as well be an office.
R. M.
Food staff aesthetic service and experience were all amazing. We really enjoyed our meal
K. G.
suuuper yummy food and wine
only thing I would suggest coming with grippy shoes .. with a combination of the brizzle drizzle and the wooden floors here, makes you feel like you are walking on ice
M. W.
I visited Bristol for a fortnight and Poco became the second home. The kitchen staff really know their craft, the tapas variety and quality was top notch with interesting ingredients, combinations and better than pretty much everything I ate in Spain! The service team are warm, welcoming and real professionals, whether explaining some of the interesting ingredients or pouring fantastic espresso during the day, they were always smiling and did their utmost to help - including rescuing a lost notebook, returned immediately to me the next time I walked in the door!
The atmosphere is made by stylish design and the people, I cannot recommend Poco and the team here enough.
6/5, will visit again when back in Bristol.
B. G.
Great vibe and menu sounded great, however, 4 of us ordered poached egg related brunch and all 8 of the eggs were very over cooked! Literally hard boiled! Really not acceptable I'm afraid, a shame as I know the reputation is great and the ingredient sourcing has high ethical standards. There was also a couple of elements missing from our dish. I hope just a one off and I will still return!
C. P.
Not your traditional kind of Spanish tapas meal, as they use local ingredients, but amazing nonetheless. We went on a Saturday night and had the set menu for 2, about 40 quid I think, which was a pretty generous amount of food (8 tapas dishes), and included some pretty impressive plates for a set menu, the mussels and pork belly were the highlights.
Definitely worth a visit.
N. G.
Really tasty sandwiches made fresh to order and good coffee.
M.
Original, interesting, eclectic cuisine. At the moment, only set menus, a vegetarian and a meaty one. Enjoyable.
M. N.
Amazing food!! Will definitely be returning
A. B.
There is a really nice atmosphere in this place and who works there is so so so kind! Also the food was delicious and I had the possibility to try something I've never eaten. It is one of the first bar I've been to in Bristol and I'll go back there for sure! Thank you!
E. H.
Really tasty food and staff were friendly and able to vegan-ise most of the menu!
N. W.
Fantastic food and coffee. Great for small plates, or just coffee and cocktails l. A super nice restaurant area slightly hidden at the back of the shop too. Can get a little pricey but quality is always great and staff are helpful and friendly :)
S. B.
Outstanding in just about every way. Tables and chairs aren't as comfortable as they might be, but it's a small point, and to be honest it's not that sort of place. Food, wine, service and general ambiance are all great, so too, value for money.
J. G.
Been a few times now and it’s always tasty food. Plenty of vegan and veggie options. No bookings on the weekends but there’s a table area at the front where you have a drink whilst you wait for a table or you can eat in that area as well. Great place to go with friends or a group.
E. K. R.
Never disappointed in this place. Great for a laid back evening of seasonal eats and yummy wine, a quick (but supremely well thought out and delicious) sandwich bite for lunch, or a simple coffee and cake pon an afternoon. Amazing chef and lovely staff 👌🏼
n. m.
We had fantastic food. Would describe these tapas as fine dining! I deducted a star coz the staffing level and organisation seems an issue. One bartender without support. Drinks didnt come which defeats the objective of a tapas bar. Maybe it was an off night. They were very busy. The ££ is a tad misleading. Dishes are obviously small like starters, yet range in price up to about a tenner. That said, 2 ate and had a drink each for £50, no desert included in that.
A. D.
Although the lunch menu was quite small the food was exceptional. The duck cassolette was really tasty and was an interesting variation on the french classic. The roast potatoes were phenomenal, super crispy and very tasty. There's also a good selection of veg and vegan options if thats your thing.
J. V.
Always love Poco. Particularly tasty coffee and fascinating views of Stokes Croft. The food is very special at an affordable price. If you're considering visiting Poco, you simply must! I believe you'd absolutely need to book ahead for food in the eve on weekends etc.
E. C.
Been here a few times. Not enough times for the enjoyment I've had from it. For me evenings are the best part of the day here. Seen a few reviews complaining about the portion size. It's tapas-- variety and flavour and texture rather than bulk! And variety and flavour and texture I cannot fault.
G. C.
Needs work. The dishes really vary in size, with £4 tostada being a couple bites, and a £10 skillet being enormous. It was all very tasty. The staff were friendly but messed up our order, and gave us two incorrect bills to end it off.
k.
Absolutely delicious! Walked in on a Friday - no reservation - and seated promptly. Really great handcrafted cocktails and a diverse and tasty menu. 10/10 will go again!
E. J.
We’ve loved their cook at home meals as a rare treat to drag us through this latest lockdown. So much care and thought. Can’t wait to check it out in REAL LIFE
G. P.
One of the best restaurants in Bristol. I always enjoy the superb food here along with the service. It can be hard to get a table though.
C. T.
Lovely tapas (not just your bog standard UK version of tapas) actually like a proper Barcelona eaterie. Very accommodating with dietary requirements, they catered for me as a coeliac (gluten free) and we also had dairy free and vegetarian in our party. Pretty decor and lovely staff - maybe just slightly pricey!
J. M.
Cute little place with authentic tasting food. The boar and the cualiflower were an absolute treat although, dont expect to be full up for under £20. That being said I would definitely visit again.
A. C.
Absolutely beautiful food, with fresh local ingredients. Staff are lovely. Highly recommend the salt fish sandwich, but the specials change do you might miss out!
G. R.
Brilliant meal tonight. Again. I've eaten here many times over the years, and every time I vow to come back soon. Super friendly staff, lovely atmosphere, real artisanal food and great wine. We eat out alot, I don't often leave reviews, but this place always surpasses expectation and deserves 6 stars
P. P.
Very good. Locally sourced food (mostly English). Very well prepared. The Cornish mussels with whisky sauce were a treat. The wine selection could be better.
M. Š.
I don't like tapas, because it's often too much money for very little food. There is only one tapas place in England which is totally worth the price and it's here! It's one of my favourite places in Bristol and their potatoes are just to die for. Staff is always friendly, and food fresh, diverse and yummy.
S. H.
Always a favourite, hesitate to give this such a good review as want to make sure we can still get a table
L. D.
Love it here. Independent and they source locally. Great range of 'tapas' style dishes...however the menu is European as opposed to traditional Spanish tapas. Always busy in the evenings so book where you can.
A.
standard faustian cuisine,
nearly made me cry,
(delicious)
C. C.
Perfect date location or intimate cosy place to grab a cocktail, tapas or meal. Well known for its strong ethical policy (as much food as possible is locally or regionally sourced making great use of local businesses like severn project and the bristol loaf, and organic and responsible farming practises are prioritised), it is also home to a vibrant, seasonal menu full of classic and exciting combinations with the vegetarian options providing some of the best choices. The atmosphere is warm casual and intimate with friendly helpful service. Prices are fair for reliably tasty food and high quality ingredients. Rightly a steadfast staple on Bristol's food scene for years and a leader in ethical dining.
M. B.
Splendid little plates of delicious eco-tapas; expect great flavours and genuine provenance that rivals any restaurant that claims to 'buy seasonal and organic where ever possible'. Slight over reliance on sourdough at lunchtime perhaps and service can go a little awry on busy evenings. Great drinks. Poco - it's small, so book!
R. A.
Americans visiting London and Bristol area and Poco is easily the best restaurant we’ve been too since beginning our trip! Breakfast lunch or the tapas style dinner - all are award winning and so so good!!
J. R.
Really love this place. Great for a coffee, or dinner, or cocktails. The food is always great and like that it's all good produce. Nice atmosphere and a perfect people watching spot if you sit in the front section and watch the craziness of stokes croft pass by
A. K.
If you are searching a small and cousy place to enjoy delicious food. Thats the place. We came on brunch and food was amazing. Plus everything is supper fresh from herbs that grows in front of you to the nice sourdough bread. Staff is amazing and really helpfull so all your questions gona be answered, and even you gona get some advice whats suit better with other :)
K. B.
LOVE Poco! Finally ate there this evening and it was fantastic. The flavours were amazing, presntation lovely and the local sustainable sourcing perfect!
I now have 3 favourite Bristol restaurants - Poco, Birch and The Ethicurean
J. P.
Literally our favourite place to eat in Bristol, for brunch, dinner, date night, when we have pals down....any excuse! Excellent flavours on a varied and rolling evening menu, great cocktails, brilliant brunch, local suppliers, fab staff.
N. E.
One of my favourite restaurants in Bristol! Laid back vibe, delicious plates and lovely service. Don't miss out on the Portuguese punched potatoes!
L. M.
Fancy, locally sourced tapas. I really enjoyed the food and the cosy setting but like most tapas places, you end up paying more than you want to. Portuguese punched potatoes (aka deep friend, skin-on potato wedges) are £4 with some sauce.
If you like big portions or plain, "no nonsense" food, give it a swerve. But if you're looking for something a bit different, it's a good place to try.
Not as many veggie options as I was expecting but some tasty combinations.
M. F.
Loved this place, cosy and welcoming. Staff were wonderful and friendly. Food was great, I wish I could have ate more. I will revisit next time I'm in Bristol.
I. B.
Tasty plates of food. Good relaxed atmosphere in great location for later bars and clubs. Some dishes massively overpriced like a few salad leaves for £4 or so. Tables are tiny and it's all a bit cramped.
L.
I have eaten in and had many takeaways and can safely say it’s some of the best food Bristol has to offer! Only downside is that the restaurant can be busy.
W. S.
Not sure what the other people are complaining about. This is grade A bristol southwest seasonal tapas. Just get there earlier before 6:30 and enjoy. I have been 4 maybe 5 times and never disappointed. Fresh seasonal and tasty.
K. C.
Gr9 food. Isle of white peppers were an unexpected treat. Who'd have known. Great window seat for rave on Avon but think the staff were more invested in raving than serving my limoncello.
A. C.
Very nice environment, great selection of local and organic ingredients. The tapas were very well prepared and presented but flavours were a bit too rich and mixed at times.
H. B.
Amazing food, great service, lovely atmosphere for group dinner or a date. We'll definitely be dining again. Thank you!
H. G. K.
Cosy with close tables, happy friendly service, kitchen in the middle of the room turning out some delicious sustainably sourced small plate dishes.
G. H.
Lovely knowledgeable staff, great range of food that tastes more delicious than you can imagine. They also have lovely drinks menu with interesting options such as a Gloucestershire white wine.
G. S.
A really great tapas bar with some tasty veggie options. Good atmosphere and liked the decor too. Would recommend!
S. M.
Absolutely superb food. Faultless presentation, flavour, service and drink selection. One of the best (by far) meals I’ve had so far in Bristol so far!
f.
Insane food - get a sandwich on Sunday but don't eat it too quickly like I did. So very very tasty bacon sarnie - and the rest are top tier too I bet.
L. S.
I've eaten some really nice food at Pocos, it's got a great atmosphere bit gets super busy, definitely book ahead, it's well located for lots of other bars to continue onto after you've eaten too. Parking can also be a little tricky but look around and you'll find somewhere nearby.
S. N.
Stopped in for a weekday brunch. The fish brunch was very tasty with the fish cooked perfectly. Wish I could go back and try the evening tapas, they sounded quite interesting
E. B.
After a Deliveroo problem which resulted in my order not being collected, Poco went the extra mile to sort things out and make sure I got my dinner. Food was delicious as always, I highly recommend the goat burger!Thank you 🙂
D. P.
Fantastic food, especially for vegetarians. The service was excellent. Loved that all the food was ethically and locally sourced and written up on the boards.
D.
One of the best veggie meals I've ever had! Every plate was incredible, that artichoke stole my heart, and the service was very friendly
P. W.
Lovely brunch, good coffee, lovely service. Get there before 11 on a Sunday, it gets busy. No bloody Mary until 12 due to alcohol licence
C. G.
Lovely atmosphere, great service and exceptional, locally sourced, seasonal food. Not only a pleasure to visit, but an education in how a restaurant should be. Will definitely be returning.
S. D.
Delicious locally sourced seasonal food - also very reasonably priced! The vibes in the restaurant are great, not to mention the staff. Definitely recommend :)
J. H.
Great atmosphere tapas bar in the heart of Bristols bohemian district. Food is incredible and always unique. Been a dozen times and they never disappoint.
R. D.
Good food and service. Few good vegan options and the kitchen were happy to accomdate by making a few dishes vegan! Great place to sit outside and people watch.
j. m.
Interesting menu, excellent flavours, very good service. Thoroughly enjoyed our lunch in a relaxed and pleasant environment. Thank you.
L. C.
Garuanteed good food eating out here. I don't think they take bookings but when I was there on Sunday it looked like they did so not quite sure. Fresh, seasonal and delicious food and great atmosphere too. I'll keep coming.
A. R.
Just popped in for a glass of wine before dinner next door. They were happy for us to perch on a seat by the window. Lively atmosphere with lots of people having a good night out
l. a.
The quality of food is very good, but the quantity very little!! Its ridiculous!! And the prices for the meals is absurdly expensive in respect of the quantity!.
Definitely overpriced.
I wouldn't reccomend
D. B.
A classic for stokes Croft...really nice slow food served very slowly. It's a small team and a small space...very popular and good quality...not if u are in a hurry though
G. L.
Lovely food, with an excellent range of local, fresh veggie options. Great little venue, too. Highly recommend it.
D. C.
Great atmosphere, helpful and friendly staff and most importantly the food was fantastic! Couldn't recommend it highly enough.
A. Z.
We were group of 10 people and called them 1 hour before to book and they said no problem, just come. As they had great reviews we choosed them and they didn't dissapoint. Amazing food and great service!
S. M.
Great, ethical restaurant in buzzing Stokes Croft. Food was excellent, using local and seasonal ingredients. One of Bristol's best.
m. g.
Delicious sandwiches, burgers, pulled hog goat etc, unbelievable. Battered mackrel a bit weird. Potatoes seemed old. Pretty delicious still
M. A.
Delicious, high quality food, beautifully presented and sustainably sourced... i highly recommend!
H. C.
Amazing food, all locally sourced, staff so friendly. Particularly recommend the beetroot and nutmeg gnocchi! Nothing to fault!
S. K.
Excellent tapas in a wonderfully cosy restaurant segment of the establishment. Such a tiny gem. Feel there are a lack of basic, no-frills items on the menu, but the fancy stuff is good.
O. M.
Fantastic locally sourced food. Small plates. Great value. Wonderful cocktails.
E.
Excellent. Food was fresh and delicious, highly recommended, especially the lamb shoulder and Cauliflower. Service was great too and prices very reasonable
A. C.
Some of the best food I've had !
C. D.
One of my favourite restaurants in Bristol. They make the best Espresso Martinis in the city along with amazing locally sourced tapas.
T. P.
Really good. Outstanding negronis, lovely staff and (importantly) bloody delicious tapas. Nice to encounter lots of non-standard dishes.
R. K.
Great tapas restaurant, wonderful staff, atmosphere and food (apart from the belly pork, stringy and overcooked). Would definitely go again!
S. Y.
Excellent. Intelligent restaurant, great atmosphere, lovely staff, very tasty, ethical food.
Every town should have one 👍
J. A.
Best coffee in Bristol and amazing food often made from scratch for reasonable prices. Try the homemade haloumii with pickles and you'll be sold!
T. J.
Fantastic food, great service! We really enjoyed our vegan breakfast and will definitely be back.
M. C.
Lovely people, brilliant coffee, shame my friend was being sick the whole time from the night before.
Although she say how much she liked the pot washers tunes and it helped mask it.
F. M.
Authentic Spanish flavours. Warm welcoming, very friendly service. If you are in Bristol pop in place!
S. S.

S. P.
A lil beauty of a place, interesting and different food served as small plates. Good drink selection and the service is informal, friendly and efficient.
M. M.
Fantastic food service was a bit slow after the initial sitting us at our table but not enough to worry us we still had a great time.
H. L.
Wonderful tapas. Doesn't take bookings on a Friday night - just turn up and wait (either in the bar area, or at a nearby pub).
S. L.
