We ordered a large takeaway this evening and the food was fabulous and the service was quick. They double checked our order to make we had everything (we had orders A LOT) The food seems much more authentic and much better quality than your average Indian. Definitely the best Indian in Thornbury.

A friend and I ate there yesterday evening. The décor is a little different from the many stereotypical Indian restaurants which some might read as a negative. The food however was wonderful as was the service. The food was well presented, in a slightly classier style than is the norm. Although I'm not a foodie I was very impressed by the flavours of our dishes. The menu is not massive but what they do, they do well. We got to meet the chef/owner who understandably took great pride in his food. Will definitely be back.

Got a delivery and let’s just say we are not the most satisfied. Although the food was ok, it definitely wasn’t worth the price. The way the menu is written makes it seem like you are getting something you’re not and the portion sizes were not ideal for the price we paid. All in all, could be improved but not the worst

Superb. If you’re after your bog standard British curry house then this isn’t for you. If you want a more authentic Indian curry then this is for you. The popadoms, naan and curry are much more authentic than the norm.

Had an excellent meal here , enjoyed the chef's special of 7 starter bites and then had Lamb Rogan Josh with a fluffy and crispy Naan bread for the main. The curry was a perfect balance of aromatic and rich spices with just enough heat. Prices are a bit higher than your average 'Curry House' but I felt that the quality was well worth it.

I have lived for over six years in the UK (London, Bath and Bristol) and have not had such authentic Indian food before. The team at Roobroo is welcoming and has done an exemplary job to give you the entire Indian experience - from finger licking food, to rustic Indian interiors and the extremely professional staff. The music was perfect with a mix of old and new Indian songs. The deserts are authentic and cannot be found anywhere else in the UK. I loved that the matka kulfi was actually in a matka! It is worth the visit! I will visit again.

Wow! The food was incredible. From the sublime banana and garlic dip for the poppadoms to the delicious wholesome aubergine curry and impeccable rice and naan, I can't recommend this dining experience more. My friend had some fantastic Welsh lamb too and the chef was massively passionate about the food on offer and the service from the waitress was top notch. The wine was very drinkable too. You want curry with a difference? This is the place!

Lovely food. We had daal makhani (deep and smokey) and karaahii paneer (bright and intense) with excellent naan and rice. I'm not used to sweet flavors in Indian food, so was nice not to run into those. The raita we had as a side was sweet however, but played its part without being too overwhelming for us. To top it off, we shared an amazing gulab jamun. Great service and not being asked for a tip (when not already added on) was very appreciated.

Have eaten here twice now and had a takeaway. Dining in experience was fantastic - terrific service and wonderful food. Not the usual Indian fare. Really interesting dishes. I was gutted when Romy's Kitchen closed but this is a more than adequate replacement. Can't recommend highly enough.

I was lucky to dine in and eat here over the summer. The food was so delicious I couldn’t wait to go back. The onion bhaji’s were the best I have ever tasted and the rest of the food did not disappoint. So fresh and tasty. All the staff were so friendly, we had a lovely experience. We couldn’t wait to order takeaway and finally got around to ordering takeaway this week, the food was just as delicious to take away, and the service was very friendly and straightforward. Can’t wait to eat here again. Definitely the best Indian food in the area.

Had a fabulous dinner at Roobroo's last night. We emailed ahead to ask about vegan options and the owner took great care in recommending options and altered a couple of dishes to make them vegan friendly. Everything was cooked from scratch with fresh ingredients. Honestly, just fantastic, and great care taken. Would thoroughly recommend.

Incredible, every time. Proper Indian. Proper flavours. Proper food. We discovered this restaurant back in October and have returned on several occasions since, albeit for takeaway. Each time we have tried different dishes and we cannot find fault with any of them. Every single one has been nothing short of a gastronomic delight. The Roobroo cuisine is far superior to that of many other Indian restaurants we have been to in different parts of the world.

Delicious food, a surprisingly good wine list for an Indian restaurant and friendly owners and staff. A small but solid menu, with really authentic and fresh dishes. Welsh lamb the stand out. Visited as part of a trip to the area, would come back if ever in the area again.

Fantastic food and friendly, attentive service. Everything tasted fresh and the flavours were perfectly balanced. One of the nicest Curry's we've had in a long time, and just different enough to be a little bit special and worth telling people about. Really excellent food. The menu is small but perfectly formed, comprising a selection of dishes, all locally sourced produce, and with a vegetarian option. You will find dishes you won't see in your average Indian. My Welsh lamb Rogan Josh was superb. Treat yourself and eat here asap.

Although originally intended as a restaurant not a takeaway, the requirements of the lockdown compelled the chef owners to adapt to lockdown and switch to a takeaway service. I cannot wait to eat in the restaurant when it opens again for table service. The takeaway is great so the in house will be even better.

What a fantastic family meal Lamb shank is so delicious and the mixed platter ,was enough to feed our group of 4 . Poppadoms are so healthy and salad served with it ,is probably a unique serving in southwest. Every bite of food is a surprise and not at all greasy

Food was quite good, but the service was bad. A one man who was trying to do everything. The chef was good, but the rest of the staff were completely inexperienced and lacked any idea of customer service. A busy restaurant on on a Saturday night just made it worse.

What a lovely surprise this turned out to be. I am quite fussy and find many Indian restaurants serve the same old dishes, most of which taste like each other. This one is not one of them. The food is obviously made from scratch and tasted delicious. You could taste the spices and each plate was more delicious then the other. The owner was front of house and was super helpful when we asked about anything, making us feel really welcome. I cannot recommend this enough!
