Evening meal with hubby. Food was just ok. Chicken had no flavor and the ribs didn't have much sauce, the food was hot and I was hungry so I ate it. Are server Ralph was attentive, well spoken, and happy to help.

Used to visit fairly often pre covid and always good experience. Sadly this time, not so much. We turned up for early tea, 5pm. The chicken I ordered could have been left over from lunch service and husbands steak was under cooked and boot like. Staff friendly but food poor 😕

A nice meal out for for 45th birthday. And the chicken burger I had was really nice...well cold the next day as I over did it at the salad bar. ...wouldn't have been my 1st choice place to go for a birthday meal but we were in the the area and it was the 1st place we stumbled across. Our waitress was very helpful and give us a great tip as we were going to Bath in the morning and she told us about a pub that we could park in and catch a boat.

Always a good place to go with decently priced food and most of the time the service is real good. I know we are just getting over corona but I cannot understand how it's safe for the staff member to run around touching god only knows what and then stand at the salad bar serving everyone's salad?! I know they don't want a bunch of ppl up there at once (send ppl table by table) but I don't need someone who's touched everything to then touch my salad bowl when I can do that perfectly fine on my own its a real downfall to the place and needs to change quickly! Also dirty fries on the menu.... its lidl cheese sauce and onion bits and bacon bits that once lived on the salad bar so, yes defo dirty fries if u mean disgusting! Aside from that staff always friendly and food is usually very good for the price although that salad bar saga is not really my cup of tea.

The food was nice, didn't have to wait long for it. The staff were young and friendly, but maybe need a bit more experience in customer service. We had been given dirty spoons for our dessert But were given clean ones straight away. All in all we will go again in the future.

Really lovey restaurant which has an amazing pond feature in the centre of the dining area. Whilst some of the decor is a little dated, the place was clean and tidy. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful, and the food was cooked to perfection. I would highly recommend a visit and the prices for meals are very reasonable.

Visually the place is amazing. It's the nicest Mitchell and butler restaurant I've ever been in. Food wise was very sub par for harvester standards. The chips weren't the standard portion size and not as advertised (should have been sage and onion), two people were missing their salsa from their food and half the salad cart was missing. The 3 stars are saved by the fact the staff are absolutely lovely and the pond.

I ordered the classic breakfast which I was not disappointed with, very generous portions and cooked to perfection! Covid measures were all in place and the restaurant was spacious and airy. First visit in many years, only went on son's recommendation, it was to celebrate my 65th birthday, we were a group of 6, including 1 with multiple allergies, our waitress, Steph, was absolutely brilliant, she went to the kitchen to check on things and we were able to order with confidence. It was disappointing for me you had run out of the simply salmon dish but I quickly found a replacment, which was lovely. I cannot praise Steph enough, she went out of her way to accommodate all of us ( 6 ) with all of our different needs. The whole meal was really good. We will be back. We’ve found the Snuff Mills Harvester a great place to meet as a group of friends for a post parkrun breakfast. We’ve had Natalie as our server many times and so it was great to see her again this morning after a COVID induced pause of what feels like ages. She is always so polite, friendly and super efficient at serving us and she is a real credit to all that the restaurant is trying to achieve. We would thoroughly recommend the restaurant for any one that is looking for great value food and excellent service. Thank you Natalie and team, we look forward to seeing you again soon.

Amazing food and service.our waitress was called Asha and what a gem she was. Could not believe how rude other diners were to her but she handled them well. I'm a manager in retail and I know you get disgruntled customers but to be so rude to a young girl is not acceptable. She is lovely and I hope we see her again when we next visit. Lovely evening out. The food was good and the hospitality was nice. We had to eat outside, due to the tables inside being fully booked, which was alright. The only major downside was that we have been asked to pay right after we ordered, without any reason behind it. We felt treated badly, like we were thiefs and we were about to eat and not pay after. Should be a lovely place as it has a pond in the middle. The cooked food was nice but it was the salad bar that let it down. It was gross. Each salad item had been mixed with another, some spilt over the floor and the salad dressings area needed cleaning. Staff didn't make the mess but it should have been cleaned.

I visited with my boyfriend for dinner on the 15th September. We were greeted by a friendly man that made us feel very welcome, sorry I didn't get his name but he is a real asset to the company! He clearly explained all the new measures in place which was really helpful and shows how much they value the customers. The social distancing measures were excellent and staff were clearly taking all measures to adhere to Coronavirus guidelines. The venue was really nice and the food was tasty. We will definitely be returning. Our waitress Linda was great, very attentive and chatty. Thank you for an excellent meal and experience!

It was our first visit to a Harvester for some time. Although it is as expected but the food was very much pub food not really cooked to the standard of a normal restaurant. Some staff didn't seem very welcoming when we requested to have another seat as it was very hot and a number of the air con units were not operating correctly. But for 4 of us the pricing was quite reasonable. Not sure when or if we will return again though.

Went for breakfast now they are open with social distancing measures in place. Drinks all brought to your table rather than help yourself, no problem. Taken to the counter where the waiting staff prepared any toast, muffins etc & selection of cereals. All over food brought to our table. Only 2 waiting staff working very hard but so friendly & happy. Nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was very nice, with unlimited hot & cold drinks. Good choice too. Restaurant itself is unusual with the water feature which kept all the childrens attention. Governments scheme with 50% is automatically deducted making it excellent value. Would definitely visit again.

Interesting venue with an indoor pond/water feature. Food as good as you get at this sort of place, the free salad bar was excellent. Nachos had some sort of warm limp cheese coloured sauce rather than the usual melted cheese used to weld the nacho together. The baked potato was probably boiled or microW before putting in the oven so wasn't typical baked texture inside. The skin was scorched on one side and the burnt taste was purvasive - we swapped it for the sweet potato fries. Gammon and runny egg was very good along with the chicken breast mains. The ice cream was a bit like a Mr Whippy. Staff friendly. Was it value for money? Yes. £12 for two courses! Would we go again? Yes. Good for a lunch time meeting, but don't take a hot first date there unless you are an 18yo.

The staff were lovely too and even though they were running a reduced restaurant but with loads of covid conditions they could of easily been flustered or quiet but they weren't, will definitely be back soon 😀

I've never been a massive fan of this Harvester. I've seen managers shout at the staff, food orders come wrong, cold food and every excuse under the sun to not serve us food when I attended after 8.30pm. However, on my last visit here in July 2021, I noticed a change in staff and the food was lovely. So I'll be giving them a second chance and hopefully up my rating even further then.

Very friendly staff, our waitress even showed us a way to save 40% off our bill!! Unlimited salad bar are always included plus the option for unlimited soft drink is always welcome. Food was served promptly and looked appealing. I went for the battered halloumi and chips which were lovely however, a little bit too much oil was remaining and I could feel the oil in my stomach for the rest of the day... But in hindsight, what should I have expected for battered cheese :') The Mrs enjoyed her Scampi and chips too! Would definitely recommend to others, plus in big indoor pond always keeps everyone busy :') Be prepared to wait a little longer for one of the tables next to the pond but atmosphere is fantastic wherever you sit!

Review russ from appleradio.co.uk says....it is what it is, recently visited and to be honest think its now overpriced. OK there is a salad counter where you help yourself but the main dishes are same old stuff, the food is OK but ribs are ribs, burgers are burgers and chicken is chicken and I feel there are much better places to eat the above and often at a much better price. The hungry horse pubs beat these hands down on price and choice. Needs a menu revamp and maybe family deals?

It was a lovely choice in menu and the food was really good. The service could have been better. We sat outside. Our meal arrived but the waitress was a little abrupt and didn't offer any sauces etc. She just plonked the meal in front of us, then went off. When she brought us our deserts we weren't given any napkins. But again the meal was lovely.

Decent enough food, relatively limited options for vegetarians unfortunately. The service is generally quite good & my family enjoy the sundaes. Haven't been for a while & the menu has changed, along with a bit of an increase in prices. The salad cart didn't have as much variety as it used to have either. I expect we will return again but I don't feel that it will be my first choice.

Not too bad for a value for money family meal. Always practical with the salad cart, and hungry young children. Portion sizes seem to get worse and worse for the price being paid. On this occasion, the waitress told me that the meal combination I asked for wasn't available. It was, and clearly written in the menu. I've honestly never been a huge fan of chain pubs ect, but this place was the exception to the rule, clean with good covid measures. Our server was lovely, nothing was too much trouble. Ok is about as good as l can describe this place. Family friendly yes, good value yes, helpful serving staff yes, but totally inflexible when trying to do any kind of modification to what you are ordering, ie wouldn't swap black pudding for a fried egg on a mixed grill. Very happy to charge extra for a second egg though. Small thing yes, but not that difficult to do to keep a customer happy.

The best Harvester hands down. My young family had a fantastic meal in a great atmosphere. The setting is fantastic and we had some of the best seats next to the indoor pond complete with water fountain. Look up and the place feels like a converted barn with its high pitched ceiling. The food was delicious and served in a timely fashion cooked to perfection. What really made the experience was the staff. All we encountered were friendly, smiling and dealing with the additional pressures of a Covid-19 world in their stride. In particular our waitress Kate was fantastic. She was cheerful, engaging and gave off a happy positive vibe that would cheer up anyone in the dullest mood. Nothing was too much trouble for Kate and she presented options when my daughter wanted a slight change to something on the menu. I always feel the best restruants are the ones that make you feel at home or dining at a friend's house and Kate and The Snuff Mill staff certainly achieved this by defining the word Hospitality.

First time going out to a Harvester since before 2019. Decided to go back for my wedding anniversary meal. First off greeted by a man who was really pleasant, then our server Sarah P was pleasant, helpful and very friendly and made the anniversary meal a truly memorable one. The table was clean, the food was well presented and cooked perfectly, salad bar was cleaned and stocked with fresh items. Chocolate fudge cake to die for... As we were leaving much later the gentleman remarked have a lovely anniversary which ended the night perfectly. Truly five star service.

Three times I've visited this Harvester (The Snuff Mills), Fantastic every time. Customer Service from the moment you walk in to the moment you leave is incredible. You've got a great team; The chap (on bookings) who is always on the door is amazing, Nothing is too much bother; and always has a smile and remains calm and friendly, when he's got to go through the new procedures for the 100th time... I have had lunch and breakfast here, I only find it good value if you have a voucher. The food is usually well cooked, the staff are always helpful. It is very child friendly but it's pretty basic. Lately they have some new sauces a puddings so that may help but it does the job of a quick sit down family lunch. There is something for everyone so easy choice if in a group. Other harvesters have not been as good so double check as this review is based on the snuff mills one. Don't expect to much but it is enjoyable.

Myself & my husband visited this restaurant on sunday eve. As we sat down we were told there would be a 45 minute wait on food, which was very disappointing as the restaurant wasn't even that busy. However, the service we received from our waitress Rachel was amazing, she was extremely polite and friendly. She came up to us in a matter of minutes to take our drinks order and told us to wave her over as soon as we were ready, to ensure there was not any further delays. When she brought our food to us, she could see our drinks were empty and although we had to refill our drinks ourselves, she went and did it for us so we could just get on and eat our food. Although we had a long wait for food, the food itself tasted good and was nice and hot. Overall, excellent service, good food, just hopefully we will not have to wait around so long next time. Food always great and service always fantastic but the salad cart was a disgrace as always at this Harvester. The tomatoes looked foul and mushy, the lettuce was brown on the edges. Most things had completely ran out. Salad bowls dirty. Not acceptable on a quiet Tuesday evening. The salad cart was not replenished the whole evening 1 and half hour visit. We arrived at 8. I have worked in a Harvester myself and understand how busy they can get and how difficult it is to keep it stocked and looking it's best but a quiet Tuesday evening is not acceptable.

Had a lovely meal with my son and his family , the food was delicious and you can visit the salad bar as often as you like . The interior was clean and cosy , my granddaughter loved the indoor pool and the Koi carp . Very reasonably priced , I had a huge bowl of salad , and a main meal of Scampi , a baked potato and peas . The portions were very generous and I paid £9.99 which I thought was excellent value . Our waitress was charming and nothing was too much trouble . We did not have to wait for our table although the place was very busy . We had a lovely evening , good food , and will definitely be going again .

A Harvester is a Harvester is a Harvester. Whichever one you go to they are pretty much the same. Reasonable food at a not too expensive price. We were presented with three (3) menus which made the initial read-through quite overwhelming. Too much information. Fortunately you can pick and choose, and not being terribly hungry we shared some fish and chips. This meant about five chips each. We did have a salad bowl each, which certainly filled us up. The salad dressings weren't well titled, so I'm not sure if mine was blue cheese or caesar. You can go back to the salad bar as often as you like. We weren't rushed by staff on a Tuesday lunchtime, so we sat and nattered for a while. We picked up drinks on the way through to the table, but the waitress would have taken a drinks order, too. So not a cheap meal, but reasonable with lots of healthy salad to gorge on if we'd wanted to.

I was disappointed with the frozen veg! The kids complained about the mash potatoe and none of them finished it. My chicken and jacket potatoe was burnt and with a tiny side of frozen veg was not worth the £9 odd it cost. My husband had a fillet steak which was tough and chewy. The building and decor is in need of some serious revamping and the ladies toilets were out of action. The floor around the salad bar was sticky and the dinner ware is old. My sons custard came complete with a hair which kind of summed the place up. The staff are friendly and attentive.

Went for a birthday lunch and catch up with my friend. On arrival, there was a board at the front advising that due to technical difficulties, fish, halloumi and prawns were off the menu. I'm not a big meat eater, so was initially disappointed. When Clare came to take our order, we asked if it was all fish that was off the menu, as the board didn't mention scampi, fishcakes or salmon. We were told it was all fish. We opted for the two course lunchtime menu, I chose garlic mushrooms to start, then camembert and cherry tomato tart for my main, to be told there was no camembert tart! We went to the salad bar and came back to our table, our starters were served straight away, then within about 5 minutes, out came out main courses! We'd not even started eating our starters, but then ended up rushing as our main course would have got cold! As far as the food goes, it was nice, service was good but the whole experience was far too rushed. I'd have enjoyed it more with a short break in between courses..

A variety of starters and desserts. There's a nice big indie pond with goldfish. Very busy on sunny days and at weekends. So expect a wait for a table especially if your a larger party of three or more. It's on a bus route too. Bus stops quite close.

Family of five came here for dinner on a Saturday night. This perhaps wasn’t a wise choice, it was busy! We had booked a table which wasn’t ready on time so we had a little wait we didn’t really mind this as we had a drink and chat at the bar area. We were able to get a tab which we then added to the bill once seated. The table service was pleasant and friendly but the food took a very long time to arrive. We didn’t mind so much as it was Saturday so we allowed for this. When the meals finally did arrive some meals were unfortunately cold when we mentioned this the meals were taken away and returned to what we thought we microwaved 😕 with a few extra chips on top. The bun on the burger was black were it had burnt. We did try to complain in a polite way to be told defensively they were busy and certainly don’t microwave food 🙄 regardless they removed the meal from the bill which was pleasing. If you have the app you get deals and money off just perhaps avoid Saturdays or go early. 😊 breakfast is always good.

I wouldn't describe anything as great but my rump steak was a nice piece of meat, I asked for it to be cooked blue and that was exactly how it was cooked. I enjoyed it. When we arrived I said to "Matt" who showed us to our table, that we were there on a Groupon deal. He gave us the menu. When the bill came it was a shock as there was no credit for what we had paid Groupon. We were told it was because we had not eaten off the Groupon menu. That was the first time we knew there was a separate menu for Groupon. It took some time but the manager did put a credit through in the end. Because the menu said there was a supplement on some of the dishes I had fully expected to pay some extra but not the £62 I was being asked to pay extra for just the 2 of us

The salad bar is a brill idea with a good joice of veges and sauces however these aren't described. I just would suggest olive oil and balsamic vinaigrette as an option for salads. Went here as a last minute before the wedding day meal. Being Christmas space was limited, but we were well looked after by a very young member of staff. The lad was amazing and took some playful batter from us. He added to the evening atmosphere and made it fun. IN DEPTH Large area for seating in nicely split up areas set around a central goldfish pond. Staff show you to a pre-cleaned table. Staff work quickly and efficiently in a friendly manner. Toilets - typical pub toilets but generally clean. No small meals for adults or senior citizen portions but there is slightly cheaper lunch section on the menu (wrap options, etc). Quite a good selection of meal options mainly based on chicken, burgers and fish. Add an extra beef patti (6oz) for £1.99 to any beefburger. Separate children's menu that is even broken into below and above 7 years old. All children offered crayons and colouring sheets. Salad bar is free to use when purchasing main meal on a serve yourself basis. Choices include basic salad vegetables plus croutons, bread rolls, pasta, etc Lots of sauces as well. Most people tend to use it as a starter. Small range of desserts and the portion size is large. A pub style bar can supply a good range of popular drinks including draught beers. One type of alcohol free beer available. Tap water (with ice and lemon) readily available. Hot drinks as well. Food quality is reasonable but all the burgers were dry. Portion size good. Presentation is what you would expect from a food pub. On the day we were there there was a major power outage (luckily just after we had eaten). Management and staff dealt with it quickly and really well.

In our party of four we had fish and chips, ribs, burger and gammon. Two people had dessert but one didn't as the cookie chaos wasn't available. This might become my new local!

The food was great as was the service from our server Karen. The only issue was although we ended up as a party of 12, initially I tried to book for 14 but was told that you could only take bookings for parties of up to 12. I said I would have been happy with 2 tables but was again told that we wouldnt be in the same area. When we arrived there were plenty of empty tables in the same area. Had we not had 2 drop out because of illness you would have lost our custom as we would have booked elsewhere.

Grilled chicken was very well done as were the chicken strips, but everything else was absolutely spot on. I did, however, have an uncontrollable urge to push a couple of kids into the pond that were constantly jumping up and down and climbing on the safety fence that surrounds it. They were told by the staff numerous times, but would come straight back again. Parents nowhere near and didn't know (or didn't care) what their kids were doing. They would no doubt have blamed everyone else if their kids had fallen in!

Second visit since restrictions ended, and there have been some new items added on the menu. Really enjoyed the meal, which included vegan items, for some of our family. Prices have increased since last visit, but due to current climate that's hardly surprising.Great service from Emily, who was friendly and approachable, even though she had only started working there this week, and we asked her some testing questions about the vegan options, which she got us answers to quickly and cheerfully. Thanks Emily for helping to make it a really enjoyable evening. I am sure you will be an asset to the team. 🙂

Our food was amazing and such good value for money too. Our waitress Natalie was the best and so kind and thoughtful to us all especially our 2 year old daughter. Nothing felt too much and she took so much time with us and talking with our daughter rather than using us as the middle men which meant a lot to us. Need to change the way they organise the bill. It automatically changes everything to set meals taking starters etc from other people's purchases and adding it to others mains.. it gets very complicated when going to pay in a big group. Lovely place for kids to come and see the fishes, no softplay here though. Refillable drinks and salad bar also a bonus 😌

Service was very slow and felt like we kept having to ask someone to come to us. Salad bar was average, lots of it looked quite soggy and like it had been there for a while. Not like a Harvester used to be. We used to really enjoy the salad bar but it was below par. There was no childrens packs either to occupy the little ones.

My son told The manager it was his birthday and he wanted to sit by the fish. He said he didn't have a table right next to them but still quite close. After we had ordered and had eaten our salad bowls he came up to us and said that someone had finished and were leaving and they were sat next to the fish if we wanted to move there. Which we did!
