A really nice atmosphere. Friendly staff and good service. I had small plates Korean Fried chicken, mac and cheese bites with a bowl of skin on fries which was just enough. It all tasted great.I will definitely be going back again.

First time here for a family lunch. First impression was amazing. Very well decorated and music was not too loud, so you can have a conversation without shouting. Staff are very very friendly and helpful. Food was amazing but I have to say that pasta was a little bit overcooked and salmon was a little bit salty as well. Rest of food delicious and pretty quick served at right temperature. Dressing for salad was exquisite. Desserts are lovely and cocktails as well. Prices are reasonable. It's a place were we'll be back for sure. Very pleasent with everything. Well done, you're at right direction.

Just had an incredible Breakfast here. This place continues to impress. It looks great anywhere you sit, the decor really works and is clearly well designed. The service was friendly and prompt. The atmosphere was lovely with music and a nice buzz about the place. It's the food that is the star here though, I had the might forge breakfast and is was superb. The bacon was wonderfully smokey and eveything was on point. We will be back for sure.

Outstanding customer service. Excellent food. Beautiful inside. Feels luxurious. I'd compare it to Coppa Clifton (with all the house plants). Really lovely to have this locally without having to go into the centre.

Six of us went here for a Christmas meal. Choice of food was excellent and so well presented. Tasty as well! It's quite expensive but for a nice treat, well worth it because of the lovely decor and finishing touches. Nothing was too much trouble and there was such a lovely atmosphere. Will definitely return in the New Year for birthday celebrations.

We came here for our date night..first impressions was wow what a lovely place. On arrival our waitress came and introduced herself. Lauren was attentive and polite throughout the evening. I had the salmon and my partner had the finishing burger.. both was delicious.. mine was finished in no time at all very tasty. And the sticky toffee pudding was so light and tasty too. Our beverages was equally enjoyable. Very posh gin glasses too.. We will be definitely returning and recommending this place to others .

Nice experience, good decor and very attentive staff. Drinks - love that you stock vermouth - glassware and presentation had a pleasingly decadent aesthetic. Main - veggie burger - good portion of fries and nicely seasoned. Burger was juicy and well dressed. The coleslaw, which is usually a plate filler, was actually very tasty and balanced. Dessert - chocolate mouse - the presentation was phenomenal and the info on the local honey was a lovely touch, however taste wise I think the sweetness could have been tempered by a fruit element or darker chocolate, as it was fairly bland and the sweetness became slightly unpalatable towards the end. Our waitress was Evie and she was a delight, treasure her. Just like the vermouth, her customer service can only get better with time.

Visited last Thursday with partner and friends. Burgers, fries, steak, salad, beer, wine.. The quality, quantity and presentation of the food was truly amazing. The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated and feels welcoming. Lovely touches being able to see the chefs and the wine cellar, and a nice private but open garden area.

You need to check this place out! I went to Gordon Ramsays in London the same week, but I preferred the food here! You can tell the chef is top notch. Absolutely delicious. Also has a great vibe with a mix of people, really friendly staff and a lovely decor. Really acts as a feature on the high street. I read some of the other lower scoring reviews; I would take them with a large pinch of salt if I were you, many feel quite unfairly low or nit-picking to be honest.

We had a fabulous evening at The Forge & Fern. Food was excellent - Fish & Chips/Pork Belly & Salmon, followed by the lovely desserts. Loved my choc mousse served in a most unusual way. Cocktails were a wow too. Staff were most welcoming and couldn't do enough for you, particularly Evie, who mainly looked after us. The decor is stunning and will definitely pay another visit soon.

Came here for a roast yesterday having previously been for drinks. The Roast was absolutely knock out - the beef in particular was some of the best I've had whilst eating out at a restaurant and the veg/gravy was all lovely. Cauliflower cheese perhaps a bit hard for our taste but put that down to personal preference. The service was brilliant and we were able to sit down, order, eat and leave in just over an hour without ever feeling rushed. Our server Evie was brilliant, beyond being attentive to our needs was incredibly personable and a credit to your front of house staff. Looking forward to returning later in the year.

Service and environment of the restaurant was lovely, very modern place. We went for a staff Christmas meal, the starter came out pretty cold but we had offers to warm it up. When our roast turkey main came out they didn’t serve enough roast potatoes and expected 14 of us to share 3 small bowls worth. With the restaurant being new and first year of Christmas parties, they had too many people in for the evening and this is what caused the many delays and issues with our table. Apart from that the food was delicious, it just all seemed very rushed.

I’m celiac, so I’m always a bit cautious about eating out. But my experience at the Forge & Fern was flawless. There are loads of real gluten free options. I had the fillet steak, and it was cooked to perfection. My partner had the pork belly, and the piece I tried was so wonderfully flavoursome! The team were brilliant too, very friendly and professional. We’ll definitely be coming back again with friends and family. 🌿 One tip…I really enjoyed my pannacotta dessert but it would be great to see another gluten free dessert.

I've been a few times now I'm glad to say that the service issues they had Looked to be sorted Couldn't fault them on that The food is a different story The meat was cooked The veg sorry to say must of been in Pan for about 30 seconds Roast Parsnips & Carrots limp The roast rosemary & garlic potatoes Were cubed plain deep fried potatoes And came out about 8/10 minutes after Plates were delivered to the table . Most of the party had cheese cake for dessert it was vile, with many leaving it untouched .with no one finishing it The Christmas pudding had been overcooked in the microwave! The manager and staff we're going overtime to try and solve issues With drinks been given to us and money off bill This was a staff Christmas party Staff left feeling hungry with some saying that they were going to get fish & chips on the way home Hopefully, they will learn from this Maybe in a few weeks' time, these issues will be resolved

A fabulous restaurant in Staplehill. Decor superb, food glorious and Staff wonderful. Have visited several times over the last few weeks and have never been disappointed. From a party of 18 to groups of 3/4 friends, the service has always been superb. Very child friendly and a menu that caters for most tastes. A lovely dining experience.

A lovely brunch at the Forge & Fern. Staff were very friendly, lovely food and the establishment is well decorated. Only thing that has prevented me from giving 5 stars was the fact that the staff didn't clear the coffee cups prior to our brunch. Leaving them empty on the table despite bringing over food, checking on us and bringing a secondary drink without clearing.

Lovely decor inside and out. Great place to add to Staple Hill! A few teething issues as you would expect with a newly opened place (slow service for drinks and food), but staff all very friendly and chatty! I think the food menu will need to be widened and perhaps portions made a little bigger (a bit stingy on chips and slaw with the burger and one of our party was still hungry after the pork belly !). All in all a great place and it's only going to get better, I will be returning!

First time here for a Saturday dinner. We had a really good time as the food was tasty, the service fast and the hole atmosphere very friendly(well decorated and music in the background) . We will go back again for sure. The only improvement I would suggest is more vegan options 😊

We were greeted by a vibrant scene both outside in the patio area beneath the wonderful "Green Wall" and inside with the fantastic furniture and fittings. The Staff were polite, efficient and attentive showing us to our table in a comfortable booth. We ordered Breakfasts, coffee and iced drinks which came quickly and were superb in quality and quantity. The Air conditioning made the Atmosphere perfect on this extremely hot day. Hannah made us feel welcome and looked after us at all times. There was a Party of 10 and when they sang Happy Birthday the surrounding tables joined in ending in Applause. This added to the community atmosphere and with children, and people of all ages the Forge and Fern caters for everyone. With the outside picnic tables attracting those who braved the heat the ambience was complete. We couldn't resist taking some lovely cakes when we left. We can’t wait to come for an evening meal. Fantastic! Great ambience with the most beautiful decor. The staff were friendly and attentive. All our food was excellent and very tasty - the Severn Smoked salmon to fish and chips and a burger. We had a lovely lunch here today with our two children. Portions are generous and the quality of the food was really high. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful and the environment is really beautiful. Inside the music is quite loud and the atmosphere is lively. Because we were with our children (one of whom is autistic) we opted to sit outside in the quieter, comfortable and very clean and safe, enclosed garden. You order from QR codes out there which is really convenient and the food came really quickly.

Lovely place with really friendly staff. Good selection of beer and wine at slightly higher prices than Staple Hill is used to but the selection and atmosphere make it worthwhile. The staff are kind and friendly if still a little bit new. The ordering app is a good touch and will benefit from some fine tuning (graphic and text glitches etc) as it matures. A really welcome addition to Staple Hill and I look forward to eating there soon.

Visited The Forge & Fern for a brunch with some friends. I had been told by a couple of people it was worth a visit. Staff were lovely and food was very nice and also the staff were more than willing to allow some swaps regarding the stated menu content e.g swapping poached egg for scrambled. I shall definitely be revisting. Updated....visited for dinner with friends for a catch up. We ordered various different small plates dishes and shared. Food was very nice. I also recommend 3/4 dishes to make up a full meal. Staff were lovely and accommodating to some the our dietary needs.

Visited here for dinner as it’s newly opened and local. The service was really great from start to finish. The menu was limited compared to the one online. We had calamari & pork belly, then a striker burger and stoker burger. We were a bit disappointed that the small plates came out at the same time as the mains, as we were expecting them as starters, but we weren’t asked this. The starters weren’t very hot as well which was also a let down. However, both the burgers were amazing & the service was great throughout. Would definitely give it another try.

GOOD MORNING STAPLE HILL! Firstly- absolutely stunned by the modern yet rustic decor, such a nostalgic warmth to the newly embellished firm! Secondly- such friendly wait staff; especially Joe (although it could be Joey so apologies for the misunderstanding if there is one!) he brought our food with great haste and precision; how waiters are supposed to be! Absolutely fabulous refurbishment, spacious and tastefully done!! Garden looks fab too, I had the forge breakfast , I never had the hash browns , but replaced with extra portion of mushrooms, and replaced scrambled egg with poached , only 1 poached egg , had to pay extra for 2?? But surely scrambled egg would have been made with 2 eggs ?? I tried to pay cash and was told they don’t take it .I feel cash is a legal tender and should not be refused, had the breakfast been lovely maybe I would overlook the fact that I can’t pay cash, but I won’t be returning.

Impressive transformation of an old pub to a fresh and modern bar & restaurant. I met a friend here for lunch recently and enjoyed the experience. The food was lovely and included a couple of vegetarian options and a several gluten free choices. The only niggle for us was that there was a significant delay between my friend receiving her lunch and mine arriving. There appeared to be plenty of pleasant, young waitresses however it felt a little disorganised. This may have been due to a miscommunication between the wait staff and kitchen or being a recently opened venue which has become very popular. It also seemed that they were a little unprepared for the success they’ve achieved as some pudding and drinks options had run out yet we’d arrived at midday so it seemed early in the day to be sold out. It cost just over £40 for us to have lunch which consisted of one soup and one sandwich with fries, 2 puddings and 2 drinks each so it’s on a par with a few other local, modern eateries we’ve been to like Mokka in Downend and The Grapevine in Mangotsfield although I much preferred the interior and atmosphere of The Forge and Fern to these other places. We will likely go back at some point by which time I’m sure they will have ironed out the few niggles we experienced.

I've been several times to The Forge & Fern since it opened, and haven't left disappointed. The décor has a classy feel perfect for special occasions and dressing up, but you can also happily enjoy having a coffee with a friend and catch up on the cosy sofas. The food is very tasty, and whilst some may view it as a bit expensive for outer-city, you get what you pay for and it is delicious and beautifully presented every time. If you're there in the day time make sure you go for a stroll around Page Park opposite too, it's gorgeous.

If you're a big eater I definitely suggest going for bigger portions of breakfast as I thought the size was a little small but tasty! Would definitely return but looking at the lunches I would try that next time. A great addition to the Staple Hill high street.
