Sizzling sound was really so tempting haha🤤This place is recently refurbished and the vibes was definitely lovely, esp for families with kids and friends hanging around for drinks! What we ordered: 🌟New Chuck Wagon 🌟Caribbean-style Jerk Chicken Skewers 🌟Cadbury Lovers’ Sundae (V) OMGGG*V* The skewers was AWESOME! The chicken was really juicy and tender, plus there were lots of veggie as well! A very balanced meal☺️The New Chuck Wagon featured sirloin steak topped with Monterey Jack cheese, bacon and onion rings. It was reallly big chuck with lots of favours! Definitely loving the Sundae🧡Best dessert for summer time with wafer as well haha Highly recommending for families to visit as they have wide range of menu, even one dedicated for kids as well!

Sorry but food was not the best the day I visited All day breakfast had hard eggs, rubbery mushroom (1/2 a mushroom) bread was stale. The whole pub had a massive problem with flys we sat in one area and moved because of it and then the area we moved to had same issues. They were all over the place. On the up side my wife and son's food looked great. Been to other sizzler pubs and had no complaints. Better luck next time guys.

First (and probably my last) visit for a family gathering, chosen purely for its geographical convenience. Food menu similar to Wetherspoons but slightly cheaper, reasonable quality and quick service. Pub itself is a bit scruffy and tired looking, the gents toilets were disgustingly dirty and smelly!

Had no crispy chilli beef which I enjoyed last week and made a special visit to have again. Blackthorn now £3.35 a pint, used to be a good place for value drinks, Squeaky door to the toilets, drove me mad, a few squirts of wd40, sorted and put some on the kitchen door while your at it, A semi regular visitor, food is a bit hit and miss,depends on your luck, but good value and staff friendly enough!

Had the best breakfast 🍳 ever, 2 rashers of bacon, two lovely sausages, 2 beautifully fried eggs, beans, 🍄 mushrooms, 🍅 tomatoes on a bed of onions and Hash browns with toadt and tea. It was called a breakfast sizzler all for £4.95 it was amazing, staff were soooo lovely. Everything was clean and tidy. Highly recommended.

The staff are friendly the beer is cold and the food is always good, well cooked and hot. It's family friendly, has a seating area ouside the front and an OK size rear garden. Myself and my partner live fairly close to the Turnpike and are regularly for à meal

Good food and prices, the dark hair male has poor customer service though, he tried to avoid serving me and then lied to me about the timescale for food (said 45mins and I received it in 10mins...) pretty sure he just didn't wanna take a food order... young girl with glasses serving food was was a delight though!

Iv been to the Turnpike a few times but in this last visit the quality shot right up. The food was great and was reasonably priced (my favorite Halloumi). The cocktails were also great and some even tasted better then going to a cocktail bar where you would be expected to spend way more. Highly recommended 👌, try a long island iced tea, it was great

We had a family celebration for Mum's birthday and with the Manager's help it was organized beautifully. The buffet was excellent and the manager made sure everything ran smoothly. Can't praise the staff enough, the venue was perfect as we had our own space in the pool room. A big thank you to all especially Chris the manager.

I phone up to reserve a table for 10 people the lady at the other of the phone was most helpful and very friendly. We arrived slightly early the table was ready for us to sit down. There is a good selection of different types of food all was very reasonable price. The food all came out together and did not have to wait long. Its good portion sizes and good quality food. The staff were amazing and nothing was to much trouble. Will be going back again. Highly recommend.

Went for Christmas day lunch and thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience. The table was dressed beautifully, the staff were attentive but not overpowering. The food was lovely and cooked perfectly. The service was set at our pace not when the kitchen was ready. All in all it was one of the most relaxing Christmas dinners I've had in over 30yrs. Will visit again,l can't hand on heart say that about every foodie/ pub l visit.Food was brilliant,price was acceptable,did not disturb the moths in my wallet when l delved into the unknown to retrieve long forgotten bank notes.The place happened to be very busy,looked very clean and well organised and parking was easy( maybe not the biggest car park but adequate,in my opinion.Back to the most important matter,the food was excellent,the service was almost perfect, sometimes there is a grumpy one in all walks of life( that girl can certainly speak her mind) thankfully not in my direction.l am a delicate,six foot man,who would have wilted under such power.lt was funny though and added to the rich atmosphere of the place.So was it worth a couple of hours of my poor and wretched life........most certainly.Give it a go but don't upset the big lady with forthright opinions on difficult customers(only kidding)it was all a good experience.

Another amazing visit to The Turnpike! We haven’t been there for some time - heard that pub can get really busy so we have booked a table. What a surprise even though every table was occupied food came out quickly and hot. We were told there could be 45 minutes wait but we haven’t waited longer than 30! Good fabulous and helpful and friendly staff! Can’t wait to visit again.

Review Russ from appleradio.co.uk says......easy parking, made very welcome straight away by a very nice member if staff. Only had a light lunch as with my 93 year old father. 4 dishes for only 12.00, superb value for money and very tasty too. I visit every weekend and have eaten in nearly all the local venues, this is right up there. You simply must give it a try. At the end of our meal was actually asked if we enjoyed our food!. These are tough times but I am sure that the manager and staff will continue to provide great service. Well done, I shall return and will recommend ongoing. 👍

Great decor, staff were fine, just a shame that that people in charge are in such a hurry to get you out of the door, the Italian guy needs a lesson or two in customer service, telling you that you have 11 mins to finish your drinks makes you think that you're on the clock...... mate.....its a life choice, not a job, tolerate and embrace your locals or get out!!

Great pub! Food is reasonably priced and well worth it, same for the drinks. Everything is very clean, COVID guidelines well adhered to and clearly displayed and explained with lots of hand sanitising stations plus a one way system. Staff are amazing and very friendly, always up for a chat.

When we arrived we were informed by Kris we had the table for 2 hrs 5.15- 7.15 which is fine what I had a issue with was the older Assistant who was talking to the next party who came in at 6.45 and keep Apologising to them saying we were being slow which I found to be rude and disrespectful maybe a little re-training is in order.The occasion was my daughters 17th birthday meal and we just enjoying the lovely food and being together as a family.

This is one of my go to pubs, I go for food drinks or to just have a chat with friends, the atmosphere is so nice and friendly you’ll always feel welcome. The bar staff are so friendly and welcoming one bar staff member that stuck out was Michael he’s always giving it 100%. He’s willing to answer questions you aren’t entirely sure on, he’s always moving never stops which is good to see, he looks presentable and approachable. 5 starts from me

Nice spacious but cosy pub, relaxed atmosphere with efficient bar staff. Have never been disappointed with a lunchtime meal here which has always been served piping hot and well presented. A varied menu, which also includes a 'Golden years' choice of smaller and cheaper portions. Do regular returns here, and would recommend.

Decent selection of food on the menu but it's a shame it's only breakfast menu before 12. Had steak and eggs for breakfast and the steak was cooked as ordered which is a big plus for me. Parking on site and kids menu available. Some of the bar staff are particularly lovely and really make an effort to interact with the kids, which is so nice to see.

Simple, well cooked honest food at a really good price. Staff are really very friendly and informal plus very hard workers. The service is usually pretty quick as well. The menu keeps changing to keep things fresh, there's lots of choice, especially for meat lovers. There are also some special offers too. I wouldn't go here for a Birthday or a Date because it can be a bit noisy, but for a decent meal out with your family you can't go wrong with the price. Small car park out the back though many people will walk up.

Pleased with the service - friendly, helpful staff. All of us satisfied with the meals we chose. We chose from the deal menu but the meals were of the same standard as I've had at other pub restaurants, just at a lower cost. Nothing special, but they were good (and inexpensive) and it's always nice to have friendly staff.
