I can’t recommend this place enough. This is probably the best Middle Eastern food I have ever had the pleasure of tasting. The rice was so flavoursome the meat so succulent and tasted, the atmosphere amazing. All served in a private room where I could enjoy the company of my friends without disturbing any one else. My first Omani restaurant. Very good/unique food!

I have been there a couple of times now, and the first time was a disappointment. I ordered the Chicken Biryani, but what came was this humongous mountain of rice with a few small chicken pieces. The amount of rice was enough for 4 servings, but the chicken barely would suffice one. The rice itself however was flavoursome and after taking more than half my meal home, I was able to use other home-cooked meat with it. I also tried their Karak tea, which is one of the few places in Cardiff where it is available - a must try I would say! The second time was a quick visit and I ordered a Lamb Shish wrap which was really well flavoured and presented too (see picture!). I'd definitely come again to try the other more authentic Omani dishes.

We have come a lot here, but unfortunately all I can recommend is the delicious saffron cake, the mighty Omani coffee, and Karak tea 😋❤️❤️ We tried the fish and kuzi, the chicken kabsa, and the meat kabsa. They were all very, very delicious. They have rooms above for private sessions or invitations. Visited with extended family, service was slow and food got cold fast. However the taste of the food is very good and everything is well seasoned. Staff is very attentive and although not always around they try their best. We had an issue with dirty tap water, not sure why there were pieces of napkin in it. My favourite were the grilled lamb chops. The decoration of the place is over board almost. Many things to distract your eyes and for a long time there have been bags of what seems to be plaster at the entrance. I believe that with a bit of more organization the service could improve greatly. I have visited before and when we were two, they were able to manage. So given the size of the restaurant I cannot imagine how they will manage when all tables are full.

Guided the children through menu choices settling for a mixed platter consisting of deliciously cooked subtly spiced rice, roast lamb done the Omani way...slow roasted so that it was melt in the mouth, beautifully roasted chicken and there was the sea bass we discover they are renowned for. Before this we had a lighter platter of falafel, humous, eggplant and a chick pea and onion dish as our starter. It sounds and looked like a mountain of food, but our family of four and a toddler managed to just about clean up. It was a wonderful spread. If we were local, we would certainly return

Some might force themselves to be put off by the setup, being mediocre by contemporary standards but walk in and past any prejudice if you enjoy food made well and with taste to savour. Family in tow, our service from the pony tailed Libyan to the owner's young son taking our order and questions on allergens and re arranhing the order after 10 minutes of it patiently left nothing but good feelings towards the establishment.
