T. R.Stunning food, the tuna nicoise salad was extremely tasty! I also had hot chocolate for dessert which was delicious! Service was excellent, the staff were very friendly. The only problem was that it was very cold where we were sitting so we didn't take our jackets off but everything else was spot on!

Shout out to Melissa, our waitress for looking after us all weekend. Also my eggs were slightly not as I ordered them on the Sunday and my goodness, they turned it around by bringing me an entire fresh plate and it was on the house! Above and beyond my expectations. Perfect brekky & although VERY comfortable and easy on the eye interior design, it is super reasonably priced. 125% would recommend.

Went here for a pre theatre meal with my sister and was bowled over! The food was good (a bit of salad or greens for the Steak Frites wouldn't go amiss, but the food was tasty)
But the main reason for the high mark was the service - especially by Grace, who was really friendly, engaging, knowledgeable and endearing. She put us at easy and just deserves the highest praise for being so good at her job.
P. B.I have been here twice now and for a chain restaurant it has a really high quality & intimate feel. The food has always been amazing but the stand out thing for me is the service. The staff here always go above and beyond what is expected to make you feel comfortable. A really enjoyable experience and I would definitely recommend this place and be back again!

C. B.We went to this Cote in October 2021 and it was so busy. We were going to see the Book Of Mormon and this restaurant was close by. It seemed like everyone had the same idea as the place was packed!
Everything was really good apart from the olives. The olives were quite mushy and the dark ones tasted a bit off. Other than that it was great.
I had the crab maison to start and so did my girlfriend. It was very nice.
For main I had the beef cheek bourguignon and my girlfriend had the mussels. Both of us were very happy with the food!
They only serve bottled beer which I'm not a fan off, always prefer draught.
But this restaurant is a good choice if you are going to Cardiff Bay or to see a show.

We went as a large group with children and were made very welcome and seated together. Service was unexpectedly outstanding and exceptionally friendly. We would love to go back!

v. s.We went to Cote for our Valentine’s meal. They had a special menu for that day, however we ordered from the bigger À La Carte menu. Food was delicious, portion size very generous and the service was exceptional. We had a great time celebrating our first Valentine’s as a married couple.

Only issue is that I found multiple hairs in my food but staff was so respectful and understanding, knocked the meal off the bill as well as drinks which I did not expect, so kind and considerate to customers. Had to send my French onion soup back as it wasn't hot enough.
Also the Croutons were quite strange , very misshapen and burnt .

Y. H.Come here once a year when in town for the speedway, never fails to impress. The lovely lady who showed us to the table to our waitress Emma the service perfect, nothing was too much trouble and they were fairly busy. Our food was fabulous, presentation spot on. The restaurant also has a lovely atmosphere which suited us, we were celebrating having been married five weeks 😁 Will be returning and can't recommend enough. We had booked which is probably best.

V. C.Absolutely incredible food and good service. We booked our table online and asked if we could have a seat by the window. When we arrived we had one of the best seats in the place, right by the window and away from other tables.
We ordered bread while we waited for our starters to arrive and were told it was in the oven and would be out as soon as it was done. It took longer than expected to cook and without mentioning anything to the staff about the wait, they told us they were taking it off the bill - fantastic!

S. S.My sister and I came for brunch this morning after exploring Mermaid Quay. Such a lovely way to end our Cardiff holiday! Weather was sublime so we sat outside and had the most delicious brunch either of us has ever had. I can definitely recommend the Sourdough bread and the French scrambled eggs! Amazing. Service, as ever, was impeccable. Our waitress, Malorie, was incredibly polite and delivered great service. Will be back!

It has clean and cosy feel, the service is very person without being over the top. The food from starters the dessert were all served together and hot. Portion size cannot be faulted.

I was late to my reservation as I'd left my wallet in my hotel and had to return return to retrieve it. The staff were incredibly understanding and found me a fantastic table outside in the stunning weather. We mentioned that it was our anniversary when booking and asked if we could have a nice table. When we arrived, we not only had a nice table but some lovely and unexpected gifts including chocolates and flowers were waiting for us at the table, as well as a bottle of bubbly. The staff were all very kind, wishing us a Happy Anniversary and the service was extremely attentive throughout. As usual, the food was exceptional. The calamari is absolutely delicious and the creme caramel is really something special. I ordered the fillet steak for main, it was very tasty but my only small criticism was that it was very rare when I had asked for med-rare, however it was such good quality meat I didn't really mind. My husband loved his duck. We will be back!

The staff were welcoming, warm, helpful and efficient. Our waiter was the perfect mix of friendly and efficient, nothing was too much trouble. The food was excellent, and the chefs decorated a cake for my daughters birthday, I cannot tell you how amazing it looked. I can thoroughly recommend this restaurant and we will certainly be returning.

Drink are reasonable on price and a nice finish of a selection of three cheeeses with bread for 6.75 was good also. The tuna steak on the niçoise salad was impeccably seared, the boiled eggs with runny yolks cooked with precision and the dessert menu was so good I had to order twice (for research purposes, you understand). I highly recommend the Creme Caramel and the restaurant itself.

A. B.Food outstanding as always , but the waiting staff let down the experience down yesterday. I had taken friends there for their first experience . We had to ask 3 members of staff for the first alcholic drink. We had one bottle of wine between 6 and a coke and no more alchol after that. When serving, food service was first class but staff were not attentive yesterday with regards anything else. Waiting team needs a shake up . We were out to party and would have spent much more money on drinks , just couldn't get any attention once the food had been delivered. Not the usual high standard of service we have grown to expect.

Ordered champagne (that expensive French stuff) and brought over in an ice bucket (perfect 👍) but then we asked if we would like to taste... that's a bit bizarre😔.

Never had a bad meal, waiters and waitress are very professional in the way they work and very helpfull when choosing from the menu or the wine list. J. V.Frequent Cote Brasserie branches quite often buy the meal we had on our only visit to Cardiff Bay branch was excellent. I had the Cote Burger & my wife had the Steak Frites from the Weekend Special menu. Both my burger & my wife's steak were the best we have ever had in a Cote branch. All praise to the kitchen staff & as usual front of house staff were friendly & very professional.

A. Y.It's was ok, good front of house, the food slightly underwhelming, timidly seasoned starters, the Sea Bass rather blandly cooked and presented, the Ribeye steak was excellent though. Whether the chefs are constrained by specifications I don't know, but given some freedom of expression would have made the meal more memorable.
D. P.What can I say about this brassiere. Situated in the docklands over looking the wharf the coffee will put a spring in your step. Enjoy the delights of any breakfast on the menu. B. D.My son is head chef here, so this might seem biased =) but steaks are always cooked to perfection, service is very good, atmosphere is relaxed. If you just want to check it out briefly, run in and order a creme caramel - from the first mouthful, you'll be hooked.
M. W.Firstly to say that the reviews I have just read about Cote in the Bay are not reviews - they are trolls. Each suggest (certainly in the case of not taking too kindly to having the service charge added to the bill) a naivety about restaurant eating.
I have eaten at Cote about half a dozen times now - mostly in parties of more than 10 but last night only three - and cannot find fault with any aspect of the catering and service there. The restaurant staff are charming and accommodating in equal part with knowledgeable and efficient - nothing is too much trouble. The food is excellent and the steak tartare just about the best I've ever tasted certainly in the UK. I have never heard a murmur of a complaint from any of my fellow diners and many of them have returned to Cote themselves since our group visit. They report total satisfaction to me when we meet elsewhere. The restaurant itself is comfortable -the ambience conducive. You can have a conversation without the need for hearing assistance. Finally Cote does what all good French restaurants do - they leave you satisfied after all the courses have been served - making no attempt to pile on three thousand calories per course. The portions are just right for the average foodie and there is expert knowledge on hand to cover vegan, vegetarian, Coeliac and other requirements. In this day and age that has become essential and Cote is very much on that case.

This was our last restaurant down the Bay that the wife and i had to visit. The table staff were very professional in the job just like the staff on Mill lane where we normally go for breakfast. T. L.Wow. What a fantastic restaurant. My husband and I came to Cote Cardiff while on our honeymoon last week. We were most certainly impressed. The food was amazing, I had calamari to start and my husband had mussels. We both had steak for mains and shared a brulee for dessert. All of which were the best we have ever tasted. The customer service was fantastic 11/10 from us. We can't recommend this place highly enough.

G. J.Visited early evening on a Saturday in February 2015 for a pre-theatre meal. We were rather disappointed. The meals were small and over priced. The steak was lost on the plate and the French fries were minimal. The risotto was not very tasty and rather dry and I was glad of the parmesan cheese to sprinkle over it, at least that gave it some flavour. I have had much better risottos in other restaurants. My glass of chardonnay which filled half a small glass cost £5.10, a price I am used to paying for a full large glass !
On the positive side the service and the staff were good and our desserts were delicious, especially the vanilla ice cream with warm rich chocolate sauce.
We did not take too kindly to having the service charge added to our bill. The only time we have ever experienced this was on holiday in France and you expect it then. We always leave a tip anyway whenever we dine in a restaurant and we expect this gratuity to be decided by the customer based on his/her experience, not automatically added to the bill.
We may give this restaurant another try, possibly on a weekday during the lunchtime period. Although there are so many other restaurants in Cardiff Bay, we are spoilt for choice.

J. C.I have been coming to this restaurant since it opened. It is still the best in the bay. It's the staff that make it work so well. The food is superb and great value.
My concern is that remote head office walless will destroy the value of the place. They have been very lucky in the staff particularly people like Jennifer oliver. Schac. Dewi. Zolton.Johnny. joanne. Salome to name just a few. I also use the other restaurants and only carluccios and strada come close. I spend at least £2,000 pa in this place alonevery so don't spoil it.
P. T.Had a decent breakfast, nothing wrong with the food whatsoever, actually quite tasty. However with slow staff who didnt quite listen to the order it was frustrating to say th least.
R. P.Today has been the third time I've been there and got to say the best so far, the previous visits were tarnished by the waiting times from the staff but they have brushed on it.
Had a butternut squash & chickpea cake served with a poached egg on a bed of spinach drizzled with mustard sauce. Very very good, one if not the best meals I've had in Cardiff (been living here for a while now). The dessert also lived up to the expectations, had a dark chocolate mousse with créme fraiche. These were all from the set menu and charged at £9.95.
The only thing I didn't find funny was the optional service charge that gets included in the bill, might be me being tight but never a fan for paying surprises.Still, all you have to do is say no and they will take it out of the bill.
