Great variety of choice for veggie/vegan breakfast. (No meat served here). The salad bowls are healthy, generous and filling. Also serve hot breakfast with eggs. The fresh juice is served in a small jar, very tasty. Plenty of staff on duty (more than the massive Cosy Club round the corner!) - clearly well run 😊

Loved that the cafe was located at the side alley in the centre and had 3 floors with lovely seating. Staff were friendly and helpful explaining about the menu. 4 stars as they forgot some of our order till we mentioned it but quickly corrected it with apologies.

We were recommended this charming cafe and I will be doing the same. I had a delicious jacket potato with tuna and salad, followed by a white chocolate and raspberry cake plus a pot of tea. Friendly service and a delightful atmosphere make this a definite respite from shopping!

Excellent cafe with additional upstairs seating. Very fairly priced and good, healthy lunches available. I had the standard salad bowl (which was a selection of fresh salad bits) for about 5.50, was a very good portion and not the kind of small salads places can serve. Also sells coffees and fresh juices/smoothies Improvements I would make would be making the entrance wider to be more accessible and, also, make it clear how ordering works (no menus available, got to pay first then take it to a table/takeaway)

Disappointing. I ordered poached egg and avo on toast. The egg was a bit “snotty” but the big issue was that avo which was ice cold (I assume it must have been frozen or in a fridge). It made it a very underwhelming experience. A real shame.

With weary legs and grumbly tums the smell from Crumbs was hard to resist so checking it wasn't too early for elevensies we tucked in and perused the chalkboards. They do a lovely small or large salad bowl which is hard to resist and great value but as the manager rearranged his cakes (so to speak) we plumped for the chocolate cake and coffees (the nippers went full fat and did shakes - though the smaller one complained latterly that it wasn't that tasty but this is consequence of weaning on animal milk which wasn't entirely lost on her, this is a vegy haven after all). The arcade's history means that all traders have to bend to fit in (staircase cosy, toilet small, etc.) but this just adds to this lovely cafe's charm. Like I keep on saying UI OLI... Batteries charged we were off again...

A business meeting in Cardiff led my son and I to this superb venue. Our choice of food was quite basic due to our limited time, we chose Jacket Potato and Quiche with a side salad, absolutely the most enjoyed meal in a long time, tasty and beautifully presented. Wednesday my son and I visited Cardiff and discovered this gem of a Kitchen serving Vegan food. Our choice was Jacket Potato and Quiche with a side salad not to adventurous for us, I have to say it was the most tasty and well presented lunch had in a very long time. The service was excellent we were served by Sam who guided us around the menu. We will be visiting again all be it we are Gloucester based. Superb value for money. Lovely quaint eatery. Loved it. Thank you.

This longstanding eatery is my favourite place to eat in Cardiff. Their salads are absolutely delicious. Often a queue at lunchtime but it's bigger than it looks so not usually too much of a problem getting seated, and worth any wait...the best!

I always enjoy the food here; it is lovely and fresh and tastes delicious. However, I didn't enjoy my visit there today. One of the male members of staff was really angry and was raising his voice at the other staff. He was in the kitchen and I could clearly hear him from where I was sitting. Perhaps he could deal with any issues after the place closes - I felt quite sorry for those working there. Surely there is a better way of managing staff than to rant and rave at them when the place is open and full of customers.

Fabulous Vegetarian/Vegan cafe tucked away in an Arcade in Cardiff. Took some hunting down but a lovely surprise. Great range of homemade food with helpful staff. Small outside seating in the Arcade which is quite nice. Would definitely visit again.

I am a meat eater. I love my steak and my spuds so I frowned a bit when I was taken to Crumbs for lunch. I had the best and most filling salad over there and it blew me away, how a vegetarian lunch can be so unbelievably delicious! The red cabbage and cauliflower salad with French dressing was amazing. The hummous complemented it perfectly. I have nothing but words of praise for the place! The owner was delightful when I went to thank him for such brilliant food who told me how it's been there for 50 years. I wish them another 50 in the least! Give them a try, they are WELL worth it!

I really love this place but on many an occasion I have found the owner very abrupt with staff and then today I heard him react really negatively and rudely to a customer's order of a coffee that supposedly was the customers fault for ordering wrong. I looked at some staff members who looked very embarrassed that I had to witness this and even apologised for their boss' behaviour. I decided that I would speak to him. As we were about to leave I asked to speak to the manager and whilst he was very reluctant to speak to me he did come out (shrugging his shoulder and rolling his eyes). I praised how much I loved the place and how staff were amazing. Then I told him about the incident and mentioned I had seen him act this way nearly every time I would come. In fairness he did listen to me (just about) and mentioned that it was very very busy and he was rushing (didn't appear crazy busy but maybe prepping for lunch). He also did apologise to me for having to witness the incident, not sure how much he meant it but he did. I mentioned to him to maybe take a break rather than take out his frustrations on staff, he is lucky to have such understanding hard working and patient staff. He told me he is too busy to have a break! All in all an amazing meal but let down by the manager. Having worked in sales and the catering business in the past I like to think customer satisfaction is paramount to a good business. I just hope he reads this and may be takes into account that certain things should not be seen by customers but more importantly realise that being kind towards employees keeps a busy running happily.

A wonderful place to eat. The staff are brilliant and restaurant manager Paul is a mine of useful information and has time to speak with customers. I had a vegetarian curry which blew me away with the flavour and freshness. I also tried a sample of bean sauce, impossible to describe how delicious it was, amazing flavours, lovely environment and a deeply popular place to eat, whether vegetarian or vegan. The only issue was that Paul would not divulge any of the recipes, which are a closely guarded secret...so... very sadly... no definitive recipe book...just delightfully delicious food!

It was quiet when I visited but soon became busy. Wales was playing France!, try not to sit to close to the toilets the foot fall became a torrent...but can't be helped! there are more seating up stairs but are steep and a little awkward especially when carrying your food etc. I must say I enjoyed my food and will return again.

Hidden away in one of the many arcades of Cardiff you'll find this gem. During the lunch time rush this place is ridiculously busy. Although if you visit it between hours crumbs kitchen will most definitely put a smile on your face. Quaint little cafe with an outside,inside and two upstairs steering areas serving tasty homemade food that can fill you up without the stodge feeling you can get from many places. They also do an option to takeaway and their salad bar is hugely popular.

Great jacket potatoes and soup for warming up the winter season, amazing salads for when it's warmer outside. The takeaway box is a bargain and features an ultra-compressed yummy mixed salad (you won't think they will ever be able to seal the box... yet they will!), fruit and water. A lot of sitting is available in two separate rooms upstairs, so if you're staying in don't be scared of all the ground floor seats being taken!

Been a customer of Crumbs for 30 years and always go there when visiting Cardiff. Daughter brought up on it and now grandsons. First class food, absolutely delicious. However, this doesn't give the owner Carte Blanche to dress down staff in front of customers!! Bad show!!!!!
