A really good addition to the bay dining scene. High quality burgers, great sides and an interesting drinks list. A mountain of options for the vegetarian burger lover, we tried the Beyond Burger with veggie bacon and the Haloumi burger, both outstanding, with mountains of skin-on fries. The restaurant is nicely designed with a rustic beach vibe and large bar. Highly recommended.

Stopped by and thankfully we were able to get a table for 4 (I'd advise to pre-book to avoid disappointment). The service was amazing and the food was out of this world!! We ordered the Korean dog, Rocky Barbacoa burger and the Boston loaded fries with a side of halloumi fries - YUUUM! Kids had Mac & cheese. 🥰 Definitely worth a stop if you're in the area.

Myself and my partner attended the restaurant in Cardiff Bay this evening and were both very impressed with the friendly service, atmosphere and quality of food. All the food arrived together as requested and was nice and hot! We both ordered chicken burgers which were absolutely delicious along with loaded fries and sides. The buffalo fingers were really tender and we especially enjoyed the halloumi fries. Will definitely visit again and recommend. 👌🏻😁

Good burger restaurant in the heart of Mermaid Quay, Cardiff Bay. Food was delicious! Burgers were nice and juicy without and hint of dryness. Friendly and efficient service as well. Sit outside for a beautiful panoramic view across the Bay when it’s sunny and warm. Would recommend if you looking for a quick and easy food when visiting Mermaid Quay.

Hub box is situated in Cardiff bay with views over the water. I visited before a theatre visit which meant that it was extremely busy. I had and All star burger my wife had a vegan burger. Both were fine. Service was good but the servers were very busy. Bookings are advisable.

Delicious food and cocktails. My partner and I came here for a date night and we were very satisfied with the quality of burgers, fries and cocktails. I had a melon bees knees cocktail which was amazing 🤩 and the burgers were so yummy, would definitely recommend the big kahuna burger and hub burger 🍔😋

Visited yesterday. Beautiful food - truly delicious. Lovely staff. Only 'complaint' being we watched 2 members of staff petting dogs inside the restaurant then handling other people's orders with no hand hygiene between these interactions. Fine for us as we have no animal allergies but curious if this is considered normal practice. Just to reiterate. We thought the restaurant being dog friendly was an amazing bonus and enjoyed the 3 pets that were seated within our section but were shocked to see servers stroking dogs and then immediately going to the serving hatch to collect plates of food.

Really enjoyed our visit here, the food was incredible and the portions were big, the staff were really friendly and helpful, the place was nicely decorated and it had a really good vibe to it, the only downside were th cocktails we ordered were not what we expected, we had two each and three of them were very strange tasting, they're quite pricey so this was a bit disappointing but other than that it was all good!

It was our second visit to Hub Box Cardiff today and again, it didn't disappoint. Great food, really tasty and feels like a proper treat. Staff are great, very welcoming and professional. The restaurant is also dog friendly. Looking forward to our next visit already.

Socially distanced outdoor and indoor dining options. Had the Big Kahuna (pic with onion rings) and dirty fries. Wife had a HeyFC chicken burger and cheesy fries. Great tasting and done throughout, juicy and moist great sauces good beers. Staff were attentive and helpful. Nice spot to watch people go by and see the river boats if sunny.

If You are looking for a place with a great view and happy hour - look no more! Service - amazing - we were greeted at a door, taken to a table, our waitress (young lady with dark hair) also recommended us 2 for 12 £ cocktails which was so nice ! One of the best burgers I have ever had ( cheeseburger with skin on fries) . Kids had double burgers which I tried and were lovely but the classic cheese I had was best. Staff ( male nose ring) was surperb, clearly passionate about the brand with excellent service and communication.

Awesome food. My husband and I each got our own burgers and shared an order of skin-on fries made "dirty". My All Star was the perfect American-style burger, my husband's Cornish Blue wasn't completely overpowered by the blue cheese. The fries were great, too. Getting them "dirty" isn't exactly like animal style in America, but they were pretty damn good. It took some time to get our order taken, but once it was, the food came out in a timely manner. We're happy to go back soon!

Been here 3 times now and the food has been great each time. One thing they really need to improve on is the speed of which they take the drinks order. First time they took ages to take the drinks order, the 2nd time I had to call a waitress over to take a drinks order and the 3rd time this evening nobody took a drinks order so we just ordered them at the same time as ordering the food. First time fair enough but 3 times in a row means it's clearly an issue with the staff but definitely an easy fix as they're probably just not being proactive enough or they're just not thinking about it. The day I go in and they take a drinks order straight away is when I'll give this place a 5 star rating.

Really welcoming venue, stopped by for a quick coffee whilst walking the dog, lovely guy served us and brought out a bowl of water for the dog without us asking. Next day on our walk we stayed for full breakfast. When we return in spring we'll definitely be back as food and service exceptionally good.

Food was lovely but most of all the staff were amazing! Wish I had the waiters name he was so accommodating and friendly would happily go back again. They got one of our burgers wrong and couldn’t be more apologetic. The correct burger was out within minutes yet they still took the burger off our bill to say sorry!!! We visited on Wednesday and were greeted warmly by a gentleman on front of house (despite being armed with three dogs!) and sat in a booth that was perfect to keep the dogs away from other guests. The dogs were offered water even before our own drinks arrived and every person we spoke to was so lovely - it sadly reminded us of just how badly we have gotten used to be treated as customers! Food and drinks all good and we will be coming here regularly now instead of our local haunt purely based on the lovely staff interaction. Excellent!

Mixed experience. Lovely table next to open sliding doors. The burger was good. The hallumi fries were good but you only get 6, so they work out at about £1 each fry! The nachos weren’t good - they were cold, a bit rubbery and didn’t have much stuff on them. The Crack Pie for desert was ok, but it was a tiny slice for £6.50. I complained about this and they reduced the price to £4.88. It was worth more like £3. The service was ok, pretty slow but it was a busy Saturday afternoon. I really wanted to like it but based on this experience I wouldn’t go back.

Came her for a meal with my dad the other day. We had the, what I belive is called th Dirty Disco burger. It was a chicken burger that was absolutely divine. Also I have to say, usually when I go for a meal I hate homemade onion rings. They are usually over/under rings of poorly battered ****. Somehow hubbox have created the most beautiful onion ring I have ever had. Shout out to Alex the manager who was very attentive from greeting to goodbye. Will return.

Nice decor in the restaurant with some really modern spray painted murals on the walls. The food was slightly over priced in my opinion and not large enough for what you pay for. I am not a huge fan of having to pay for fries or sides separately. The chicken burger I had tasted fresh, well seasoned and juicy. I would say that the amount of different variations or chicken burger / beef burgers need more sauce and fillings to differentiate them from each other. The sauce I had in the asian style chicken burger was too runny and just dropped of the burger to begin with. This left it tasting like a very normal chicken burger. Very nicely seasoned fries with rosemary which adds flavour, not needing to dip in a whole pot of mayo to make a normally quite bland food taste good. Staff were still learning but friendly as they are newly opened. Good atmosphere and a tasty variety of IPA and draught cider. 7/10 experience.

Disappointed. We discovered Hubbox in St Austell a few years ago and have since visited Taunton and Bristol. It was in Bristol that we found out Cardiff was finally getting one and we hoped to to get to the opening, then, Covid. So, on Saturday, we had an opportunity to drop in, albeit for breakfast but, excited. We stood at the outdoor seating entrance for some time, wondering whether, we wait, walk in, what? No one bothered coming out so, we went to a table. No one came by, a waitress went and got menus, from the entrance for a couple of other tables, not ours so, I got us some. Finally a guy came to take our order, all good. Our food finally arrived, "anything else guys?" Salt and pepper please, no problem. Nothing. One waitress wore a "can't be bothered" attitude like a loud coat and no one checked back with us. We attempted to ask "attitude " for our bill, ignored. So, I went up to pay. "Was everything alright?" We didn't know there was mustard on the muffins, my partner couldn't eat hers. Oh, sorry about that, want a receipt? Yes, thanks. VERY disappointing

Quality burger joint. Food is really delicious and filling. Why the 4 star then? Because, me and my friends were not treated well on our first visit. We stopped by after a short day hike. We were extremely hungry and didn't have any previous booking. We said we are happy top sit outside, but the scan and order was not working from our table. So, we went in to place our order. The person who took our order didn't seem interested. She rushed us through and didn't even give us time to even make some food related enquiries. We were scared of her, and definitely not a good experience. BUT the FOOD was delicious. So, I went back again with my partner and had a lovely evening. The lady who took our order was extremely friendly and polite.
