J. W.This was one of the nicest meals I’ve ever had. Usually I would go to the restaurant in Cardiff city centre but in future I’ll be coming back here. The staff were really friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The food was absolutely incredible. I’ve never had a steak that was so perfectly cooked. It was so good we’re going to make this a monthly meal.
P. B.I went here to celebrate my graduation with my partner and I had an excellent meal. All the food was delicious and I had no complaints. The staff members who served us were all friendly & helpful and the restaurant was busy but food still came quickly but we did not feel rushed. The only reason I’ve marked down a star is as I feel that the place isn’t as fancy as I had expected and I feel the price point is a bit high in comparison to other steak houses.
K. G.Have never had a bad meal or service here. Always have the steaks which are outstanding. Our waiter was Hugo and he was lovely and we had the best service from him. We have seen him before at this venue a long time ago, we are glad he still works here after the pandemic. We will return!

M. Y.We got the lunch fixed price menu to test the water. The starter calamari and fries were amazing. But the prime steak burger was as hard as a rock in terms of the mince. Bun and lettuce are pretty decent. Steak frites was like grilling with seawater. I think the chef must have been a sailor before hand.

She asked if we were celebrating anything, when we told her she got us a card to say congratulations which was so heartwarming. Experiences like this are always unforgettable. The little things. The chef, Attia was also amazing - gave us the allergen and dietary info and other options instead of what we couldn’t have. Overall the service from top to bottom was more than we expected, very happy☺️

It's quite expensive but worth it as a treat.
The light on the table is way too bright, but there is an off switch to solve that problem.

C. G.Such an amazing place to have food!! The steaks are so delicious and the Fillet steak is to die for but it is more expensive steak as it has more meat than fat and I recommend you have it rare as it will say to have that on the menu. The chips are amazing as well and so are the sides.
The staff are way more polite than the one in the city centre and alot more friendly and chatty!

S. K.Their attention to dietary requirements is the best I’ve ever experienced. I have allergies. I didn’t have to tell them, they asked. That never happens anywhere else. The manager (Joe) came over and went though my order with me, spoke to the chef and told me everything that’s on & in my food.
He was brilliant. He explained what I could and couldn’t have due to my allergies.
I have never experienced this is any other restaurant I’ve been to. Amazing service.

The food was amazing and delicious, but above all was the service. Lesley our waiter was outstanding, nothing was too much trouble. Even when we didn't know what an onion loaf was he brought some out for us to try. He was so attentive but not over bearing as sometimes happens.

Steaks were absolutely gorgeous definitely the nicest steak we have had out in a long long time and once finished our waiter came out with a sharing dessert for us to congratulate us on our marriage such a lovely touch to a lovely evening. Had 2 starters really small compared to last time. 3 steaks all excellent with good side dishes. No room for dessert or coffee! We had soft drinks only. Bill for £103 is in our opinion a little too pricey although everything was great. Special occasions only for us in future I think.

S. M.This meal was exceptional. Ordered the T-bone steak with truffle Mac and cheese. The steak arrived a bit over cooked, I had asked for it rare/blue and what arrived was Medium/medium rare. They were so hospitable with making a fresh one for me and then it was absolutely perfect. The service was faultless, the food tasted amazing and the atmosphere was delightful. The price wasn’t too bad either. For 2 of us (2 starters, 2 large mains, 1 dessert and 5 soft drinks) it came to about £90 which was a lot less than I was expecting to pay. 5 stars will definitely go again
B. C.Excellent food and service. Went on a Thursday night and there was the Dates and Steaks set three course menu for £29.95 which is pretty good value. There is decent kids menu too. Can definitely recommend, but I would say book in advance as it was busy.
T. S.I've been several times to the Cardiff bay restaurant. Food is always delicious and staff very accommodating... They even sang me happy birthday and wrote on my dessert after over hearing it was my birthday which made it all the more special... Would love a chateau experience :)
N. E.Lovely greeting and shown to our table. Our server Stephen was most probably the nicest and most professional and personable person I have met in a restaurant. I asked him for some advice on what he thought would be the change for me instead of going for the classic fillet. He went over and above and explained the various different options. I went on his advice and had the 50 day aged Black Angus Bistro Rump cooked medium rare. I would never ever have picked this steak, wow, one of the nicest steaks I have had, so tasty and cut through like butter.
Everyone we had contact with was professional and friendly. Will definitely be using the Cardiff Bay restaurant again when we are in Cardiff.

My request for a table in a quieter area of the restaurant had been noted and granted. Our waiter was the best ! Charming, funny and attentive without being intrusive. Food was delicious, steaks were cooked to perfection. Little touches such as a birthday card on the table and a chocolate 'Happy Birthday' greeting on Dads dessert really made the evening. L. M.The welcoming staff are always so accommodating. We were asked on arrival whether we were there for a particular celebration and we explained it was our son's 16th birthday. When our waiter came to introduce himself he made a point of wishing him a happy birthday. Then at the end of the delicious meal, he brought out a special dessert just for the birthday boy. Such small gestures mean such a lot. The steak is always cooked to perfection, the sides are just the right size. The wine menu is extensive, with prices to suit all budgets. The whole restaurant experience is a real treat.
J. H.We lunched here prior to attending the Millennium Centre for a show. It is ideally situated, easy to get to if you're not from the area like us and has its own car park. There is a comprehensive menu and we opted for the lunch time fixed price menu of 2 courses which was under £13 with the addition of 3 sides, again a variety to choose from, which is £10. All the food was excellent. Service is top class and our waiter, Atilla, couldn't have been more helpful or pleasant. We shall definitely make this our 'go to' restaurant when visiting Cardiff Bay.

We had slight issue with an old couple having a go at us for smoking in an area without no smoking signs but we made iose aware and he dealt with that issue.

P. M.I’d given blood earlier in the day (no, I don’t like to talk about it) with my much younger fiancé, we needed a good feed to get the blood sugar up.
We’d had our third date at this restaurant about a year previous and the food had been great that night too.
Perhaps the highlight of the evening was Joe who attended to us…nothing was too much trouble, witty and charismatic…. he was the perfect host.
He shared that he enjoyed reading Google reviews, so here we are…..
He was a shining knight in a silver Ford Fiesta, a student in Plymouth who undoubtedly has a bright future.
He even tolerated my wonderful fiancé making a “Joe Mamma” joke at the end of the meal as we left….he may even start donating blood!

We totally enjoyed every course but the steak was to die for. A perfectly cooked 16oz Rib Eye is no mean feat but Miller & Carter pulled off.

J. T.I only tried this place for the first time about a month ago and have already gone back multiple times. Out of all the restaurants I have been to, this one is my favourite.
The food has always been consistent in its quality and taste, I have never had any issues with anything I have ordered.
While the price is high, it is definitely worth it.
I cannot recommend this place enough if you haven’t been already.

The 50 day aged Aberdeen black Angus 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼 So so tasty!!! Sauces, sides all beautiful. The only dampener was the table behind us, came into the restaurant with the intent of getting money off, when the waitress asked them how their meal was the said it was lovely. Then when the bill came they played holy hell and complained to anyone that would listen that their steak was undercooked. Well if that was the case Karen, why not ask for it to be done a little more when the waitress asked. The staff dealt with them them as politely as they could, the manager was excellent and gave them half off the streak, which was more than they deserved, as he walked off they high fived each other.
Apart from the muppets, we can’t wait to come back and try different steaks. Fabulous steak house and fabulous staff. 👌🏼

Shame,the taste was there though and service was amazing as ever. We told our waitress about the steak, but also said we didn't want to send it back. To start, we had the pulled croquettes and Chipotle chicken bites - both were very nice, though the croquettes portion was a little small for the price, but still worth trying.
We had T-bone steak (with peppercorn sauce) and a burger, with a side of truffle and cheese mushrooms - all of which were extremely tasty.
The burger was good, but I definitely recommend having a steak here, and the side of mushrooms are a must too.

A. S.Friendly staff however some of the cuts of meat the quality is questionable. We ordered the cheesy garlic bread and the chicken chipotle were amazing as starters. We then ordered a well done sirloin (stressing WELL DONE NO PINK) but had to send it back twice. On the other hand a medium fillet was ordered but it came as medium rare and the filet was quite stringy. As a steak restaurant, was disappointed that 2 out of 3 orders were not cooked as ordered. On the other hand, the butchers block ultimate sharing experience was good, steaks came as ordered though I wish it had come hotter as it was a lot of meat to get through. For sure I would recommend the 50 day aged Angus filet. Another disappointment was the sticky toffee pudding, bland and consistency was not right, too spongy and chewy. I have to say that I am not in a hurry to go back so soon.

1.We've never been disappointed in this place. First went several years ago when it was new and have been back probably twice a year since, mainly for family occasions and once or twice for business. It isn't the cheapest place to go for a meal, but it is good value. We think the steaks are fantastic, puddings are nice but unnecessary after a generous portion of our favourite nacho sharing starters and then the main course itself. Other dishes are available, but we only go if we want to have steak.
Quite a dark but comfortable interior. Clean toilets. Large bar area and servery. Service has varied over the years but has always been at least ok and the last time we went, a few weeks ago, the service was excellent. We felt very safe with their precautions against the spread of covid. Parking is usually easy enough, make sure you enter your car registration when you enter the restaurant.

A. B.Miller and Carter is always a great meal for the meat lovers amongst us. Today however the standout dish had to be the Camembert Mashed Potato. When mixed with a bit of the beef dripping steak sauce it was absolutely heavenly.
The steak, as usual was great. The chateaubriand was a little chewy however but all in all it was a great experience.
The covid protections are great and the team there are always helpful. A great meal all round.

l. r.I love a good steak but I am sorry to say that apart from the staff and actual steak, this is a pretty average restaurant. We asked for another minute when deciding on our order and waited a further 25, more staff needed here on a weekend, especially. We hadn't been to a Miller and Carter restaurant prior to this and only heard good things... were a bit disappointed. My steak came just as requested but Step Dads wasn't, nor my Mums. I get that they were busy as it was a Saturday night but such an established chain should continue to provide that great service on which they thrive.

Desert/starter options were limited on the lunch menu (which is the case for most places to be fair) - didn't fancy a starter so went for the caramel apple crumble/tart for dessert which was nice (very sweet, but that's fine by me). Service from our waiter was very good, he was very friendly and helpful. The restaurant was lovely and cool as well, which was really welcome in the warm weather at the moment.

Excellent quality food and I will say it was probably the best steak I have ever had, the staff were polite, very friendly and welcoming and hats off to our server who was very informative on the menu very efficient and an all round nice guy. Well done to all I will definitely be returning soon !!!!!

J. W.My first experience of a Miller & Carter restaurant was absolutely top notch. Received a friendly welcome on arrival, which was really nice as we arrived a little late. Our table was a bit wobbly so we asked to be re-seated which was obliged with no fuss. Our waitress was Nicki she was very pleasant and polite and nothing was too much trouble for her. Our orders were delivered with minimum waiting time. The food, from starters to main was absolutely delicious. I would go as far as saying that it was the best steak I have ever had. All 4 of us were very satisfied with this dining experience and we will definitely be back soon.
G. C.So, I'm a big fan of Miller and Carter but our experience at this restaurant wasn't what I would have expected. We arrived at just after 9pm and asked for a table for 6, the chap who greeted us was a little hesitant at first and seemed a little reluctant to seat us saying that he didn't think they had a table for 6 even though the restaurant wasn't that busy. Now, I appreciate that late walks ins are never welcome but, they did advertise that they seated guests up to 10pm. Nevertheless, he did seat us and we proceeded to order. We all had starters and mains. The starters arrived exceptionally quick, it was as if they had been prepared in expectation of our arrival, they tasted ok but not the usual M&C standard that I have experienced in the past. Onto the mains, I ordered a burger and other members of our party ordered steaks, again the mains arrived really quickly and this is were the problems start, none of the steaks were cooked to the levels requested and the patty in my burger was, well really caramelized (I'm being polite here). It was as if the chef had just given up! Maybe this was just an off night but I expected more having been to a few M&C restaurants around the country. This experience was not worth the £180 we spent. On the plus side, the chap who served our table was really accommodating and friendly
F. R.Strictly in terms of service, can be very hit and miss. Sometimes it's phenomenal, others it's above average. I have never had a bad meal here though and is still probably the best steak house in Cardiff.

R. H.Took my wife here for our 26th Wedding Anniversary Meal. The starter was really really nice. M&C run out of smoked salmon so we had two helpings of lobster. Which was really nice. We both had steak which was cooked to perfection. And for the change no waste. Like gristle or fat.
The only reason why I have given 4 stars. Is that when the meal came, accompanied with a salad. The salad consisted of a quarter of a iceberg lettuce. I would like to see if M&C give a response to this question.
When giving a salad every restaurant in Britain in fact Europe even further. When you have a salad it comes with tomatoes, cucumber and in a lot of places onions and peppers. So instead of doing an automated answer. Let's see if they answer this properly.😒
L. B.Myself and 8 family members went to the Cardiff Bay branch. 3 of us had to return our steaks as they were cooked incorrectly. However when the were 're cooked they were lovely. Service was excellent.
M.Having never been to Miller & Carter i was really looking forward to it as a birthday treat.
Upon arrival at 7pm the Bar was only staffed by one person. This resulted in getting a drink taking 15 mins (Poor chat behind the bar).
One seated i felt very hot and looked around to see other diners fanning themselves with menu's. Perhaps management could have pickup up on this and changed the climate control settings?
Staff i will say were the saving grace and my waitress was amazing and agreed to change the climate settings. Sadly for her she later had to come and explain our Steaks had been given to someone else in a mix up. A round of free drinks were offered and accepted.
I found the steak to be average at best, and far away from reports of melt in the mouth.
So 5 stars for our waitress. 3 starts for the food and experience.

Only disappointement was my creme brulee. Barely 5mm deep and no taste at all. Didn't complain on the night as didn't want to spoil a lovely evening.

Everything was spot on. The waiter was polite and courteous and even though the restaurant was very busy, we weren't kept waiter.
T. T. D.Another great meal. Didn't realise there was a set menu option until we arrived, so opted for that to save a few quid. 3 courses for £25, bargain. Steak was succulent and tasty, fries were hot and crispy, sides were tasty and plentiful. Not forgetting the Stilton and blue cheese lettuce wedge! Lush.
Server Kelly was lovely and friendly even when struggling with the limited English gents on the adjacent table.

R.I love the food here. Took my mum and dad for a meal last weekend. The service was prompt and corteous. We ordered 2 steak meals and a lunch time cod meal. Food was prompt and was perfectly cooked. Very good experience, decent pricing and good service

C. Y.This is a great place to come for a good steak. Staff are knowledgeable on the contents of the menu and like a good laugh.
Scallop starter! You only get three scallops on the plate which works out at about £2 per scallop. That's a pricey dish. Make it 4 scallops on the plate and it would just about justify the price so watch out for that one folks.
The food is good and would suggest booking a table if having a late evening dinner as it is a popular place for a good feed.

Car parking a bit fretful as it relies on registering your car registration on a computer connected to site car park company. Technology prone to faulty connection and if not sorted quickly can lead to the issue of car park fine notice - as has happened to us. M&C are sorting this but annoying.

p. s.Steak was okay, cooked well. Service was dreadfully slow and seemed like their management's approach is to micro manage the staff and was uncomfortable to witness, do it off the floor please. Our waitress was the only one willing to help but unfortunately meant she was being shared between the whole restaurant. Go to the one in Thornhill would be my advice.

I. H.The best steaks by far in South Wales. Meat is always full of flavour, as are the sides and sauces! Staff are very polite and usually on hand to help. Nice atmosphere and the cocktails are always a favourite in the wifes books (pretty sure it's the only reason she goes!) If you want a truly scrumptious steak go here (avoid M & C in the city centre though, that one is atrocious!)

J.Came here to celebrate my 25th and the events of my evening would normally result in a complaint but to provide me with a booth seat in a busy service and the calm attitude and good service we had off Sam flipped that arround. After 3 attempts of getting my steak correct I decided to just eat what I could. The manager kindly took this off the bill at the end which was great of her considering it was a £51 Steak. But credit to Sam having a repeat problem with a meal and keeping her head calm and reassuring us that she will have the manager compensate us for the issues. This is my favourite place to eat and I put it down to being such a large cut of meat to why there were problems as normally the chefs provide stunning food. Will still definitely be returning as everyone has a bad day and in a very busy resturaunts I think I was the only one who had any issues looking arround so to be fair they were still smashing service and problems happen. I still had a lovely evening and look forward to coming back. Thankyou got the good birthday.

Ok so the food; we had steak and was very good, it came with a quarter of an iceberg lettuce in a bowl (bazar) and either chips or sweet potato fries which were the worst I have ever had.
Overall it was a good meal but apart from the steak it was nothing to write home about. There are better places to eat in Cardiff.
