s. g.I would like to thank Emma who made my experience wonderful her cheerful smile and help with placing us at the table and guiding us with our order. The quality, quantity , ambience , availability of various peri peri sauces and cutlery was great and give Thai place a 5 out 5 . This is better than the other two Nando’s stores one in brewery quarter and other in cardiff bay. Highly recommend visit this location if you are in cardiff over the other 2 locations.
A. C.Typical Nando's great food, good service, covid19 restrictions mean a wait of around 30 minutes, but the virtual queue allows you to leave and wander around the shops while you wait. Unfortunately the bottomless drinks have to be given by the staff now, so there is a small wait to catch the attention and have it delivered. Love the chicken and the corn on the cob.

M. M.I had my very first Nandos in Cardiff recently and I loved it.
The only reason I hadn't had one before was because the nearest one is over 50 miles away.
We were seated very quickly even though the restaurant was quite busy, the server was very friendly and engaging.
We ordered our food & after a short wait it arrived at our table & my friend and both chose the butterfly chicken.
Thoroughly enjoyable, I had a medium spice & that was fine for me, any more spicy & I wouldn't have liked it.
Coleslaw & chips were also really nice & I'll certainly have Nandos again in the future.

R. K.Not impressed with the App ordering system, I prefer to give my order to a waitress which would have been quicker. Food good, I paid for coalslaw but it didn't turn up but fortunately I was full so didn't miss it anyway.

No queues outside any more, instead you need to scan a barcode at the entrance to get your place in the queue and you'll be informed when a table is available for you. We had a seat upstairs, the host told us to go upstairs and tell the greeter it was table 11 and left us to it, but when we got upstairs there was no-one there and table 11 was the first one, so we just sat down. There are now barcodes on the tables as well to order food. Just a note - you need an account to order your food so it's easier to sign up before rather than doing it there. So, barcode food ordering. Even with a reduced menu, there's still pretty much everything you'd expect from Nando's to order from, not sure what was missing! I guess it's just a little anti-social, everyone's head in their phones whilst ordering, less conversation. The system all worked fine, orders are placed and food is brought over.
I guess I'd prefer a little more interaction from staff - as there was no-one to greet us at the table we weren't explained to how the drink refills worked, did we have to order on the barcode each time or ask someone in person with the same glass? We never found out. You're basically just left to your own devices, there's no interaction apart from when your food is brought to the table and you're asked if you need condiments. You don't see any other staff milling about and you there's no-one around to approach.
Food wise, always a good standard from Nando's - I had butterfly chicken, tenderstem, salad and split a spicy rice with a mate. All lovely food. They don't do balsamic vinegar anymore which was a shame. Like I say, it's Nando's, just different. Personally, I might just order online for click/collect or a home delivery next time.

K. H.Came to Cardiff on the 1st of December to do our Christmas shopping. We decided on nandos for lunch. We arrived at 1pm and there was a long queue outside of the restaurant. We thought we would be ages but knew every restaurant in Cardiff will be busy and nandos is worth the wait. In fairness to the staff and the good system they have in place, we were only in the queue around 15 minutes then our table was ready. My husband and I ordered the peri-tamer chicken with chips, sweet potato wedges, multigrain salad and coleslaw. My friend ordered a plainish chicken pitta and mash. Food was also quick to arrive, boiling hot and delicious. Our friendly waiter was also her attentive.

'They' don't melt the cheese slice as standard? Odd imo. Who would order a burger and not expect the cheese to be melted?. Wouldn't go off piste again. Chicken on the bone all the way. Or try Slim Chickens , thank me later ;)

S.I'm from Brazil and I have never been in a nando's restaurant before, and I have accept the suggestion from a friend and I really liked it and I also have tried some different kind of chili, so, I say that if you are walking around and you see a nando's, stop and give it a try it worth it. Friendly staff and great atmosphere
R. D.Food was great as was the customer service. My ooonly critique is the fact I absolutely hated where we sat which was at the front. It was so dark and closed off. I like to people watch and wish we got to sit on the level above. It was so dark you'd think Nandos forgot to pay their electricity bill lol.

s. h.The food was as always excellent 5 star's, but found the queuing system unfriendly and not very practical, as we could not download the app. My son had to do it eventually after a few attempts, no one from the restaurant offered to help even though they could see we we're struggling.
We found that people queued anyway to find out about the app system, think this system needs reviewing or having a added system were you can still be added to the list at the queuing point, by the staff.
Also found the ordering system not user friendly, would have preferred a menu to look at, to order from. Also could have the alternative of a staff member taking your order, most people will use the app but it would have been helpful having the alternative of the order taken at the table.

Changes after covid
1.you have to scan the barcode in the allocated table and then to order (limited menu) ,enter your table number and pay for it.
2.cutleries will be brought in to you by one of the staffs
3.bottomless drinks are refilled by the member of staff( i felt bad for them)
4.no more bottle sauce, choose ur fav sauce and they all are in small sachets.
Staffs were amazing especially a young girl with curly hair(pony tail) and a skinny guy with specs..🙂 (12/09/20)
v. j.The chap on the welcoming desk was rude.he was asked where the quietest place was where we could be seated and his answer was .A takeaway i.e nowhere only quiet you get if you take food and go.we wnet upstaits and it was adequate.so im gusessing he either didnt know the redturant or was just rude.the people upstairs however were great!

A. S.Chicken restaurant no frills choices of piri piri or lemon and herb different sides available I quite like the rice and coleslaw usually go for bottomless soft drink. Never had a bad experience here. It is absolutely crazy getting in at the moment so be prepared but worth it for a cheeky Nando's.

D. O.What's there to complain about Nando's? Of course it will be the best grilled chicken you have and their sauces always bring out the best in them, maybe not the best for your mouth.
The spicy sauces are from mild to extreme, there's always something for everyone.
Basically, grilled chicken and spicy sauce is always the go-to in Nando's.

S. J.First time at a Nandos. Nice food but doesn't live up to the hype. Staff at this branch were friendly.
In response to Nandos reply I would like to clarify that the meal was fine. I would prefer table service for this type of restaurant but that's not a huge issue. The main problem is that people on TV and social media rave about Nandos as of its some kind of religion. It's just flame grilled chicken with some spice. Any good generic takeaway will serve the same thing. 3 stars is neutral. If your friends are going it's fine to go with them you'll probably like it.

R.Right in the middle of the St Davids center so if your dropping after shopping its the perfect stop off at the end of the day! 2 floors mean that there are usually tables free although at busy times there is occasionally a queue. Food is your normal Nandos goodness but the staff here are friendly and helpful and make eating out here fun and enjoyable.

I'm a Ceoliac and am used to a restricted menu choice, but there was ample choice here, pleasantly surprised.
The food was impressingly flavoursome without being over-spiced. Busy, with a small queue but its popularity arises from good reasons. Worth the wait, will certainly be on my list of places to revisit

E.I've visited this particular restaurant a few times and although the food is always nice, there's usually something wrong with it- a bit cold, chicken overcooked etc. On one occasion we ordered a vegetarian burger and specified that the person was vegan, but then the burger came with mayonnaise (which was not mentioned at all on the menu). Waiting times can be long but that's to be expected due to being in the city centre.

R. S.Perfectly located in St Davids shopping centre, on the 1st floor. With lift's one minute away, which are also linked to the car park and toilets, this can be convenient for parents with pushchairs or disabled person with a wheelchair.
There is also a large variety of other branded shop's and eatery's near this store so great to visit with friends and family.
Negative point, I visited this Nando's restaurant with the family recently, on ordering/ waiting for our food we noticed a member of staff cleaning tables and brushing up the floor(which was fine) but straight after she starting serving food without washing her hands. So when she came over to us with our food we mentioned it her to confirm and if so why not, but she started speaking in a rude manner which wasn't needed at all, later a manager came and listen to our concerns and handled the situation well.

You can never go wrong with a bit of Nandos. I have visted other branches such as newport and its always perfect. 😆

Weirdly, on a Friday or Saturday night this Nandos stops taking orders at 10.30pm while the other one in the Brewery Quarter less than a mile away is open for orders till 11pm. Good to know if you just came out of a show.

K.Great Nandos in St David's Centre, the store is always clean and tidy and the staff are great. The only problem is during busy times there can be a long queue especially on weekends lunch and diner times. The prices for the quality of food unlimited drinks are very reasonable.

K. 2.Absolutely love it, great service with really friendly staff. The takeaways are always done really fast so you are only waiting maybe 5 minutes unless they are extremely busy and I highly recomend the supergrain salad with avocado with chicken or without.

K. L.Would be 5 only they have started tightening up on giving armed forces discount - asking for actual ID card rather than 'armed forces discount card'. Nandos should be more aware that in some parts of the armed forces staff are specifically told not to show their actual ID card to the general public (hence why they're given the AFD card in the 1st place)

You can never go wrong with a bit of Nandos. I have visted other branches such as newport and its always perfect. 😆
