My go to Indian restaurant when in center of Cardiff. They do more traditional Indian dishes. My Madras could of been hotter in spice levels. Beer when waiting, Madras, bindi, pilau rice and naan bread for around £26. Nice decor and friendly staff.
D. S.
Lovely quite ambiance.food was delivered quickly. Starters were really tasty but the quality wasn’t worth price. The mains the chilli murg was good but the murg biriyani was okay.Lacked flavour and felt blanch.
Overall not worth the price.
P. R.
Quite nice, restaurant ambience was nice too.

We as a group of 6 people went there 2 days in a row (Saturday & Sunday )
1st time we took our chances, but it paid off, place is nice and clean, service was good, staff were polite and friendly, BUT more importantly the food was excellent not spicy or oily at all, Nan and chapatis were cooked perfectly well.
Highly recommend this place
D. V.
I have been here a couple of times and I have really enjoyed the ambience and the food. As we are students away from home, we crave for home food quiet a lot and this has been my go to place. I really like the lasooni naan with murg chilli as a main and the samosas for a starter. All the cocktails are really amazing. We need to really appreciate their presentation and hospitality.
S.
The food was ok but was NOT spicy at all. If you don't like hot Indian food this is your place.
S. O.
Gorgeous food and gorgeous drinks. Everything is freshly made and generous with the meat portions too. I had a butter chicken for main and it was lovely. The cocktails are also lush, especially the pina colada🥰

Recently I have been to this restaurant for dinner, I was welcomed very nicely and given drinks and food menu. Firstly they have excellent listing of drinks and food where I have chosen cocktails which were amazing and later I ordered Ghost platter starter, Kashmiri Shank main and Garlic Naan, taste of these dishes are incredible with authentic Indian spice flavours in it and were of good in portion size and the service was excellent and everything was organized. I strongly recommend this restaurant for dine-in to the people who are looking for proper authentic Indian food and great customer service. Thank You Spice Quarter team for amazing experience
S. R.
Fantastic food, the nicest Indian meal we've ever had.
A. M.
Very loud environment not good for quite dining. The ambiance is nice and the food is good but not worth the price.
S. P.
Very nice restaurant to dine in as you won't find these indian dishes anywhere else. The staff are always helpful & friendly.
S. G.
I don't expect much from city centre restaurants that rely on continuous visitor footfall rather than repeat customers. I'm happy to say this restaurant surprised me. The food was absolutely sublime.
M. N.
Exceptional. Fantastic food. Excellent service. A modern yet contemporary feel to the restaurant.
Food was. Amazing! Simply amazing.
Highly recommended and will definitely be back!

I took my family to this restaurant we all loved it. I always complain about food quality but this place made me say nothing but the best
K. C.
Nice restaurant in the centre of Cardiff. Seating is upstairs which helped make the atmosphere calming and comfortable. Probably the best the city has to offer for Indian food.
N. C.
Great food and lovely atmosphere. Would recommend to anyone who is a fan of indian food
s. t.
Ambiance is very good and staff is too polite and service is awesome and great food... Tasted best in cardiff
Joyfully experience! Its a beautiful theme restaurant with good ambience and interior. Food is very good. Polite service from staff. Visit to this place gives happiness with satisfaction. Also value for money. They have limited items but with good quality.
L. A.
A very nice Indian restaurant with a great setup and good lounge music.
The food is delicious and comes in generous portions that a person with a small appetite might not finish!
The only downside of this restaurant is that it lacks fresh air!
A. E.
Nice Indian restaurant located in the city centre. Good quality of the food, the service is fast, quiet and friendly.
C. P.
Nicely spiced food, not knock your socks off spicy. Service is good and it's open late.
G. N.
Me and my guests from other city had a dinner in spice quarter. Trust me food is super duper yummy. Every thing is so perfect. Best place in Cardiff. Ambience sitting everything is super👌.
D. G.
Never had a bad meal here.
Its got a nice ambience, the food is superb (none of your generic sauces here)
S. B.
Great ambiance but food wasn't that great. Sad that I wasn't able to smell aroma from an Indian food.
O. W.
very tasty. you can eat well :)
A. S.
Tasty food, good service. Mango kufli is really nice for a dessert
P. G.
Great food. Fresh and tasty, fast service and unique dishes.

MUST MUST MUST and MUST try …..Best and very genuine Indian restaurant of Cardiff ….hygiene is maintained at high standard …quality of food is excellent.
Great for parties as well as for a beautiful evening with red wine and food ………..
A. A.
I ate here a few years ago and it was great. Just ordered for delivery for the first time and it won't be the last.
Excellent food, great service. Very impressed.
M. B.
Ordered via just eat for 3 people, food was delicious and tasteful, nicely sized portions too. Will order again

Not a great experience. This was our last meal before our French adventure and left us with hopes that France would provide better food. A friend recommended this place and following a great Indian meal in Exeter we thought we would give it a try. Service was very slow and not all dishes came at the same time. I only read the TA reviews when I started to write this one and it seems there has been a change of management. I am not sure we would come back.
S. J.
5 of us went on a Saturday at 19:00 and were seated almost immediately. I recommend booking if you go later in the evening. The food was fabulous and service was excellent. The atmosphere and cleanliness of the restaurant is also very good. I would say that with a starter, main, side sharers and a drink you're looking to spend £30 per person on average. I would go back and would recommend.
S. H.
I booked for a party of 16 , from the moment we arrived the staff made us feel very welcome . The service and food was outstanding from start to finish. I highly recommend the spice quarter as a place to eat , and would gladly recommend 10 stars for the food and service. Thank you again for giving our party such a wonderful experience.
V.
Absolutely delicious! I enjoyed everything 🥰
B. F.
Just went in this restaurant randomly, with my friend tonight, it has a five health and safety review which drew us in and the menu is pretty large. It has lovely decor which is really calming, a lovely atmosphere. We had two starters, two sides, two mains and two drinks and it came to £52 so it was reasonable. I didn't have one complaint. Very lovely!
A. N.
Very good food, portion sizes were perfect! Lovely atmosphere.
R. S.
Excellent food in Central Cardiff. We visited on a busy Saturday evening, it was a bit noisy because of rowdy diners, and the noise from the courtyard eateries just outside added to the din. However the place was comfortable, dignified and the staff courteous and helpful. Service a bit slow but it was a very busy night. Not as extensive a menu as at some Indian restaurants but the dishes were all very flavoursome, lifted out of the ordinary with some nice touches. Prices not cheap but commensurate with the venue in my opinion. Recommended.
S. L.
A decent restaurant offering Indian food. The menu is good enough to offer the basic dishes. The location is right in the Cardiff city centre and easily accessible. The food tasted good and was priced similar to other Indian restaurants. However, the potions of the sides is too less. Please bear this in mind while ordering your food. Moreover, it took us 40 minutes to be served after placing the order. That was very irritating since we arrived not late and placed the order quickly. But worth a try if in Cardiff and looking for Indian food.
L. H.
I would definitely go as far to say that this is the best Indian cuisine I have had! However, the only reason for me to rate it 4 stars and not 5 is the service involved! The attitude from the waiter was not the best at all, in fact he was quite rude- when we brought to his attention about an issue with one item of our meal he was nothing but defensive and argumentative and no apology was delivered. Maybe it was just a bad day/night for him and it’s easily forgiven as the night was great along with the food despite one item. We hope that maybe the waiter mentioned will take on this feedback and just work on his service skills for future reference.
I’ll definitely return again as the food is gorgeous and is great for a day/night out with family and friends.
C. P.
The food was delicious and tasty I really enjoyed the garlic naan, the starters are individual portions but the mains can be shared.
J. C.
Epic! What a beautiful dish. I had a lamb dish with vegetable side, naan bread and plain basmati rice. The lamb was so tender. Every aspect of the dishes were succulent and dreamy. The staff were hard working, friendly and approachable. I have lived in the gulf of Arabia, Egypt and the far east and experienced many curry dishes over the years. I thoroughly recommend this place and it firmly deserves the 5 stars I gave it.
R. W.
Been here twice now and had a really nice meal on both occasions. I really want to award the place 5 stars but the service was just slightly off. The gentleman serving us was very nice but it was difficult to get the bill at the end and staff didn't seem aware of the offers they had on their own menu. Still, lovely food and environment and I would recommend it.
A. D.
Excellent food, excellent service. Staff wore visors and hand sanitizers were in place on the way in. Place was very quiet which obviously helped with social distancing. Would go again.
M. T.
Great Indian food in Cardiff - I’d always recommend Spice Quarter if it’s the cuisine you’re after in the city. If you get your timing right, there are some excellent meal deals which make it extremely good value for money as well as being generally delicious.
T. A.
I came here twice during my time in Cardiff and both times it was wonderful. Staff was incredibly friendly and efficient. The food was delicious - some of the best Indian I’ve had. Naan bread was fresh and hot. We ordered butter chicken, chicken korma and the bariyani which were all very tasty. Overall great Indian restaurant with nice atmosphere. Good place for large groups.
H. N.
Good service and quality food but taking long time to serve customer as not enough staff. They customised order for me because of allergy. Have to wait long time speak to them and often had to remind about drink. I received drink on half way of main course. They need more staff
I. S.
I’m actually still sitting here - really great food (1 starter 3x veg sides + a naan and an onion salad *chilli alert*) and I couldn’t eat it all 😳 and I SO wanted too. Place is quite quite on a Sunday evening - music is nice. Overall 11/10.
E. J.
Food good ...service very slow ...
p. e.
best indian I've ever eaten....and Im not joking, this was stunning, had some lamb thing....gorgeous and reasonable. Oh yeah, the place was spotless, and no i dont own it or work there
J. F.
I've never paid so much for a mediocre curry. The restaurant looks beautiful and the staff are lovely but the food (for the price) leaves a lot to be desired. Worked out about £6 a beer too.
J. D.
A real gem of a find...with the government eat out to help out scheme my family & I were struggling to find somewhere to eat as everywhere was booked out, it was purely by chance we found this place & OMG I'm so glad we did, the service was excellent & the food was probably the best I've ever experienced...most definitely compliments to the chef's.
K. B.
The food was absolutely wonderful, from preparation to presentation, the onion bhajis and tandoori starters were delicious and mouth-watering. We especially enjoyed the bar drinks, the vodka martini and the special Indian beer "Cobra". (even took photos so we could try to replicate at home).
w. m.
Food here was exceptional. I had the sea bass which was delicious. Husband had a very spicy chicken and garlic dish which he described as mouthwatering. Highly recommend this restaurant
r. l.
Excellent quality food attentive and informed service all in a relaxed well apportioned restaurant. Picked this for our daughters 21st meal and we were not disappointed. First class
Y. D.
Great for 2 course lunch
J.
Fantastic atmosphere. As always authentic Indian food. Good service. If one prefer cool undesturbed time, a must place to visit.
P. P.
Went here for a meal with a supplier and we had a great time. The menu is a little different to the usual and this was a pleasant change. Food was well cooked, beautifully spiced and nicely presented. Ill be going back.
O. L.
Decoration of restaurant was nice inside but I was disappointed with my Korma as it had very few pieces of chicken and was mostly sauce. I found the staff to be a little surly/grumpy and the food a little on the expensive side but was an okay meal out.
A. T.
Indian restaurant in the Brewery Quarter of Cardiff. It is nicely laid out and service was good, but the prices were higher than what you would expect to pay. The food was nice, but it did not justify the premium charged.
A. T. T.
Lovely food, slightly overpriced though.
R. S.
This eatery has some of the finest Indian cuisine chef's in Cardiff. The restaurant itself is situated in the brewery quarter of the city centre, it has a relaxed setting with Bollywood music playing in the background.
Theres a separate bar area on the same floor which customers could enjoy but may have to wait for assistance if busy. There're also toilets available which are fairly clean with all essentials available.
Negatives i'd point out are...
Unfortunately the management & waiters don't match the top standard and dedication as seen in their chef's cooking, they're often over-worked/ tired and just about help customers when required, on calling for assistance one is made to feel that they've done something wrong.
Being on the first floor, this restaurant is lacking a lift for disabled people with wheelchairs and parents with prams.
W. A.
Great atmosphere and ambience. Tasty halal food from starter to main course. I have not tried the deserts. Better than all the other Indian restaurants I have been in Cardiff.
I. G. S.
Decided to take a friend out for a meal and we were both craving a curry. Was the first time either of us had been to this place. On entry everything was very nicely presented with nice decor and lighting. We were greeted by a very friendly employee who quickly showed us to a table and presented us a menu each and took our drink orders....pretty standard so far.
Drinks came quick and we made our order, starters (appetizers) came within two minutes, not just poppadoms but nicely cooked and presented onion bhajis too. Our main courses came immediately after our plates were taken from the starters which was very impressive. The food was very nicely presented to us, delicious and of good quality and quantity too, not too much not too little.
The menu is pretty small, especially for an Indian and additionally, i believe many of the curries you would usually be able to choose what meat (like chicken or lamb jalfrezi) only had one selection. Prices were as expected in all honesty, certain curries (like the jalfrezi or vindaloo) and appetizers like poppadoms were a bit more expensive than other places but only by a couple of quid (or pence in the case of poppadoms), but sundires (naan, rice) and chef specials were all cheaper than other places, so a nice balance.....and I say the word "cheaper" in the elast offensive way possible as the quality of the meal was great, one of the best curries i've had. Spice wise, the curries are measured on a scale of 0 to 3 by the restaraunt, I tend to prefer curries on the spicier side while my friends prefered slightly milder choices, syaing that we both picked a level two curry which certainly had a bit of spice to it but certainly did not put either of us off.
Another point of note is that there is a service charge (10% in our case) added on to the bill, i am not sure if this is mandatory or if it can be requested, however, again we were happy to pay it as the service was justified, waiters showed us to the table, offered help and assistance in a very timely manner and were just all-round polite to everyone.
We went on a Friday evening and was very quiet when we were seated (probably 4 others in the restaraunt) but it did get a lot busier very quickly.
B. R.
Very poor service.
We were a group of about 20 odd people who went for a project kick-off dinner. The service was awful. The staff wasn't able to manage a big group and in turn were unable to serve us well. We struggled to order, waited to be served.
M. P.
We went here with my football team, a group of almost 20 people. Service was great, the food was even better. Would definitely reccomend this place.
J. S.
A decent Indian but the menu isn't very exciting. I had byriani for main course and whilst it was nice and flavoursome, I realised quite soon that there was no more chicken left in it. The chicken I did have was a little tough.
M. N.
Enjoyed the Royal Thali dish, which is great if you want to try a few things. It included four curries, rice, naan, raita dip and a sweet rice pudding for dessert. Veg option also available. Left happy and full! Great decor once you get up the stairs and through the doors.
S. M.
Wow. One of the nicest curries I've ever had. In Cardiff of all places! ;-) Bhuna gosht was amazing. Staff slightly abrupt but in a friendly way, strangely. But top quality. Thanks!
N. H.
Delicious fresh food, welcoming staff and very happy to help. Lovely clean restaurant. Best meal out in a long time. Thanks
K.
Stunning food, huge naan bread, gorgeous mushroom rice. We had to wait a while for a table, it's very popular, will definitely book a table next time.

(Translated) A fine Indian restaurant is one of the most beautiful restaurants I have visited in Cardiff..taste, quality and art of presentation is very distinct.
The quantity in some varieties may be somewhat small
The atmosphere of the restaurant is totally different from the surrounding ocean and the Indian atmosphere lives in its details.
The restaurant is on the second floor ..
(Original)
