I loved the fact you can just pay without having to call the waiter.
The ambience of the place is really good and the crowd was not much at all when I visited. I visited on a Wednesday afternoon though so please plan your journey if you are going on a weekend.
I loved the food and will definitely go back again .
The location is so good as it is located right next to the Cardiff bay.
The pricing was really good also and worth it.

My only feedback would be, lose the benches for chairs as those with bad backs and medical issues need lumbar support.

Food was brilliant, very tasty and a good portion size. The bathrooms are for everyone and are perfectly clean and well designed for ease of use. Covid safety: in place, the long tables are now sectioned. Register for Covid tracking. Masks until seated.
Car Parking: not applicable as in pedestrian zone, however there are two pay and display about 10 minutes walk either way. Mobility scooters a plenty whizzing round the pedestrian areas.
Food: plenty for Carnivores, Vegetarians, Vegans and Gluten Freerers. They will adjust food to your liking. Interesting drinks ie healthy juices, plus hot drinks and alcohol.
Toilets: 1st floor of the restaurant, in the far corner to the left of the kitchen, including a disabled loo.
R. L.Went for food last night after work and decided to try Wagamama for the first time due to our staff discount from frankies! Food was some of the best I’ve had in a while! All tasted fresh and was delicious, Server Tom was a phenomenal guy and really friendly! Will defo be visiting more often!

Had a very warm welcome from Christian as we entered and immediately felt comfortable when he dove into the new vegan options and pointed out a few recommendations.
Our server Jen continued the enthusiasm about the new menu options as we decided and it was a pleasure to chat with her whenever a new plate or set of drinks arrived at the table.
Overall it was a lovely evening meal and I'm looking forward to going back soon. Decor of the restaurant was somewhat flat, and it's unfortunate the restaurant isn't able to take advantage of the windows and great view in the warmer weather, but the food and the service was more than enough to make up for it.

Firstly, the restaurant is a great place for any vegan or vegetarian dietary need as most of the food is plant based, this may be a red flag for meat eaters but I can 100% say that all of there food is very nice.
Secondly, the waiters are always great to chat with and take the upmost pride in delivering your food on time and to the upmost quality. Furthermore, they always ask for any dietary or allergy requirements before you are seated.
The food, it's amazing. Full of flavor and the amount of colours on each plate makes the dishes look very appealing.
The only thing I would like to mention negatively is the price, a little steep, however I feel as though they make up for this in the quality and range of their food. In other words, i'm definitely visiting again soon!

K. K.Visited last Tuesday with a friend and had the yaki udon which was lush! I always have a ramen when I visit but thought I'd switch it up a bit this time. My friend had the charcoal noodle dish with cod, can't remember what it was called but that was lovely too. We ordered the bang bang cauliflower to start which was good and we also had some squid balls. One of the managers served us who was really nice. Think his name was Connor..but we're terrible with names! Would definitely recommend food is always banging and staff are really lovely

Wagamama’s is a Japanese restaurant chain is is more suited to western style Japanese cuisines than authentic Japanese meals... but I wouldn’t knock it, the food is good and value for money.
Katsu curries and ramen noodles are recommended.

It was very quiet Sunday afternoon but we didn’t get looked after by our waitress and waited too long to get ordered. First time when we came to this Wagamama, we were seated by manager Christian who was very kind and informative and served by our happy and knowledgeable waiter Tom. They made our 1st time Wagamama visit enjoyable and this is the reason why we came back. We would kindly like to ask Wagamama to bring this manager and waiter back in order to get the same Wagamama service that we had before

A. H.Wow. This is my first time visit to wagamamas and wow. Firstly, the food was amazing. I can't find any fault in the food one bit. I have autism and social anxiety and found our server over the top and caused me quite a bit of anxiety. The people I was with said they were very good. Very knowledgeable, very attentive. Couldn't do enough for them. I can't judge them on my issues the people who I was with couldn't fault them. There was one problem with my food, it took longer to arrive than everyone else's. Someone came over apologised, explained why and said they were taking my food off the bill. I understand that things sometimes go wrong, but I judge companies on how they deal with these issues. I couldn't fault them. I didn't expect to have my food taken off the bill, but was a very nice touch. From my experiences with this restaurant I am now a super fan. I know if anything goes wrong I will be taken care of. That means a lot to me and I will now be a regular customer.

Greeted warmly by Curtis the manager, who was also covid vigilant, making sure we had checked in both QR codes before entering. He then confidently handed us off to our waiter Tom after seating us at our table. Tom had a wonderful energy, was more than happy to make suggestions as he clearly knows the menu well.
Overall the restaurant was clean, organised and well ventilated, and the food was excellent, hats off to behind the scene chefs, we even stayed dessert!

Once inside the setup (with sliding partitions along the benches) was great, making you feel secure. Will definitely be back very soon!

The food was amazing (as always!) but what really stood out was the service! From start to end the staff were really attentive, friendly and were clearly working very hard to make sure everyone had great service. A special mention to Curtis who was brilliant and made us feel right at home, but all the staff were great. We were even given a complimentary piece of vegan cake - which was soooo tasty. Once a table had become vacant he kindly said goodbye to its occupants and cleared it ready for us to sit down after dealing with a minor issue with some other customers very professionally. Curtis went that extra mile on a very busy evening to make our visit and whole customer experience most enjoyable, it was clear to see his heart was in his work. Our meal was once again very delicious served by another lovely member of staff Jen.

But this Asian and Japanese large chain restaurant in the centre of Cardiff is a good example of how you can grow a large restaurant and still provide a localised and personalized service. E. V.Hello, me and my family when to wagamama mermaid Quay on Sunday 6th of August and the experience was absolutely amazing. The place was clean, well illuminated, not to loud even having kids around, the food was delicious and the staff delightful. As a family that includes vegan and gluten free dishes we were really glad of how the staff and the manager were treating as. We were in other wagamamas and never got this great service. And yes, the other wagamamas were base is London but the stress of the city is not an excuse for a rude service.
We had a very good time and we will definitely come back.
