Checked out the Special Lunchtime Menu today, outstanding value for money. We enjoyed all three generous sized courses, delicious. Will definitely return to check out Evening Menu, my partner was complimentary about her cocktail as well.

We sat outside in their courtyard which faces the castle nice little area. The only downside was there isn't a non smoking area and there were quite a few people smoking which wasn't very pleasant. The menu is very extensive and I had the seafood risotto which was a good portion with plenty of fresh seafood it was delicious. The rest of the family had pizzas which were freshly prepared and massive. Very reasonably priced and good service. Not sure I would sit in the garden just based on the smoking situation but that's personal preference. Other than that was a good meal.

Beautiful restaurant 2 floors to dine. Lovely outside area with Castle View. Fantastic food! Bit biased as my sons friend works here. However, my rating would still be the same even if he did not work there. I live in Birmingham & I'm going to drive 3.5 hours & bring my beautiful girl here for dinner. Highly recommend.

Arrived to be greeted and shown out to the outdoor seating as the warm weather would likely have made sitting in the comfy and cosy looking interior a little hot around the collar. Outside seating is right beside Colchester Castle, there was background music that was just the right volume as to not disturb the meal but add some ambience. The food is absolutely gorgeous, we had bruschetta clasica as an appetiser to share which was full of flavour and plentiful as well as Bufala Caprese which again was very tasty. For mains we wanted to try a pizza each and all pizza can be made into a calzone which we both went for. Thankfully I took a photo to go alongside this review otherwise I wouldn't have suitably described how large the calzone is. It was the best one I have had, not greasy or full of oil just full of what tasted like fresh ingredients perfectly presented. We had two beers each during the meal and the overall price was an absolute steal for such a gorgeous tasting meal. Highly recommend this little slice of Italy tucked beside a castle and it's stunning grounds.

Really nice - lovely meal, very nice house red as well! A little bit noisy when it's busy but the staff worked really hard so customers weren't waiting for food at all. Price was a little higher than expected but the quality of the food was definitely worth it.

Fantastic meal and entertainment at Al Pacino Italy. Very reasonably priced with great service. Would recommend the choc orange cake. Very good choice on menu from pasta, meat, fish, veggie and pizza along with a hist of specials up on the board. All the food looked amazing as it passed our table.

Lovely little find in Colchester,,usually go to Prezzo for Italian in town..not anymore ,,this place was so much more,,,Italian!!.the food was so tasty and the portions were huge..the share platter we had for a starter for the 2 of us ,probably would have been enough without a main!?.could have fed 4 people as a starter ..less than 60 quid for 2 drinks ,starter and a main..quick and friendly. Loved it 🤗..reminded me of eating out in Rome 😁

Went in today for my first time, the pizza was good, what i didn't like was that, the chef start to swear in romanian when he was down in the kitchen and i could hear it from outside, plus he came outside,right next to my table,explaining to his mate,im a foul language how "unhappy" he was with something from the kitchen. I came there with my friends and 2 children of 4 and i really didn't like it how he was speaking. It seemed like someone in charger was there but didnt seamed to be bothered,he was more intrested in what he had to say.I speak romanian, so i know very well what im saying. Probably first and last time i go there. The staff who served us,2 young girls they did their best,i have nothing to say about them. That's the only thing that bothered me deeply. Fould language near childer,no-one cared.I just wanted to pay my food and leave.

Overall experience was present. Good atmosphere with good service and freshly made food. The food was tasty and as per menu. Advice to book in advance as very busy. The choices for Vegetarian are limited and non for Vegans. The place is located centrally and attracts a trendy crowd. The place was moderately expensive. Choices for desserts are limited especially if you are a veg/ vegan.

Every time I've been here, the food never disappoints. Everything is incredibly flavourful, even the sides. Service can be a little slow sometimes, but it takes time to make good food and is always worth the wait :)

This was the best meal I’ve had out in a long time, the food was so good. I had the cheese and meat platter to start, linguine alfredo as the main and the tiramisu for dessert - all of it was delicious. My partner had the steak which was cooked perfectly.

This place came highly recommended by an Italian who has high standards with food. It was amazing. On a day where I had already experienced exceptional service, we came to a place where the service was excellent. I love the way the restaurant is set out, I love the way they accommodated the request of my son and I love the food. We will be coming back and I strongly recommend this to others. I feel that this offers, for now, the best food in Colchester though it is a close decision and the competition for this is tough.

We had a lovely meal at Al Pacino in Colchester for our wedding anniversary . Three courses. All food was beautifully cooked -prices were reasonable and staff were great. I dont know why this place is not packed to the rafters. I cannot recommend Al Pacino too highly . Great Italian food beautifully cooked and served by staff who care what more is there.

First time here and it was a little strange. Don't get me wrong, the food I and my friends had was lovely, and Casey the waitress was amazing (although I fear let down by the manager and a lack of training). I do hope she gets more support and help, we all start somewhere. The menu does not quite reflect what you get in my case. My Whitebait starter was perfect. My main course of Lemon Salmon with Rosemary Potatoes was Salmon (no hint of lemon) with lovely roasted mixed veg and potatoes (no Rosemary). Had the Manageress who took the order told me I would not have ordered a side of roasted mixed veg. Which came along with potatoes ..... or exactly what what I had on my plate !! Dessert I ordered Fruit Tart and asked for ice cream with it, this seemed to confuse the Manageress who said it had a Lemon Glaze (or that is what I heard over the saxophone and his 15 minute playlist... Feelings ... again ??). What I got was a really REALLY nice lemon roullade with ice cream. Again, to be fair, this was not on the bill due to the mix up, and we got Lemonchello on the house. My wife was actually jealous as if she had known that this was a dessert option she would have ordered it. It's not hard to say "Fruit Tart is off, but we have a special on of ..." So overall, really nice tasty food, but it appears to be a lucky dip and the Manageress needs to be clearer as to what is coming compared to what you order and support her staff more.

I took a group of approx 20 people for lunch on a sight seeing tour. The food is really lovely and authentic Italian . Most of my group had pizza for main course and were not expecting such high standards. Supetb desserts too. The decor is of quality, and fitting for special occasions. The exterior doesn't give a hint of the tasteful style inside. And lastly, the service is a wonderful combination of speed, efficiency and big smiles. Do go!!

Really pleasant local Italian restaurant in Colchester. We are lucky that there are such good local run places that it means you dont need to go to generic chains that are usually a bit rough. This place is an absolute diamond and well worth visiting. Excellent food and service, nice location.

Well……what an amazing place we’ve just discovered here in Colchester! The ambience and the intimacy of the place works perfectly! A friend recommended it to me and WOW….he truly wasn’t wrong! I had the prawns for starters, my partner and guests had a white bait and mussels…..all of which were delicious!! But then the main course….from the specials board…..whole lobster, mussels, clams, calamari and prawns sitting on a bed of pasta and a rich tomato sauce. I/we were most definitely blown away with the quality and flavours. The desserts were delicious too, although was quite a struggle to finish off after such generous portions on our starters and mains The staff and owners are lovely people and very welcoming too. You deserve all of the 5 stars and more!! I look forward to coming back to try the skate wing….amongst other dishes Thank you for such a lovely night - keep doing what you’re doing….perfecto!
