As a girl who loves her food & enjoys trying out new foods & dishes, it was the turn for Albatta. The menu has lots of lovely dishes to try & the pictures do make the food look mouth watering. As I was wanting to try several dishes we ordered various ones from starters to mains. The food order was placed & delivered very quickly indeed. No complaints here at all. It arrived & upon opening the lids up the food was indeed hot. No complaints here either. We had half a chicken with rice, a mixed platter dish, with hummus, fried potatoes & salad on the side with dips. The food did indeed look as good as the menu pictures showed. So no complaints here. We dived straight in & I had a bit of everything, the hummus was a particular stand out for me, it was simply delicious! The half of chicken was a bit overcooked & too dry for my tastes. The mixed platter dish was a bit hit & miss for me, the sausage shaped kebab again was delicious but the lamb wasn't. Again it could be my particular tastes are different to someone else's. So for me personally this experience was a mixed bag as I thoroughly enjoyed some of the food (as above) but then I didn't like certain things. Would I want to try this food again? I'm unsure as whilst the hummus & kebab was both lovely the majority of the meal wasn't. So I've given this meal 3 stars. Me and the wife tried this place on a Saturday night.....on entrance we was seated by a member of staff and given our menus and served a drinks all was good at this point but then we waited 20 at least for someone to come and get our food order ok not a problem...we were given a complementary bowl of soup which was very tasty but in a a plastic bowl not good....mains came and the portions were very good as in big I had the mixed kebab and my wife had the kofte both was very nice dessert was Arabian mix pastry and was very sweet and delicious....The downside to this place was they turned off the heating and it got cold very quickly so did not make for a comfortable evening ....in all this place was okay food was good but needs work on utensils eg no plastic bowls.....and turn the heating on when you have customer's in

Great food, very reasonably priced, the owner brought us complimentary soup while we were waiting for mains which was delicious. For the mains we had a selection of lamb chops, shish and Korte kebabs, chicken wings with salad and chips, all delicious especially the lamb elements. I would give it 5 stars although we were the only people in there on a Thursday night, which is nice in some ways but then sometimes it's nice to have a bit of atmosphere. However the owner was very friendly and really looked after us and we left feeling happy with full tummies and not a massive bill, so all good and will go again.

Had the best time. The staff were on job even though it was quite busy! Food, drinks and shisha were on 💯. Intact, I had a little too much fun and left my wallet... i was so worried. picked it up the next day with no issues. Thanks to all Albatta staff. Keep up the good job.

An unique and high quality experience. The food was tasty and well priced; the Lebanese drinks were delicious and refreshing; the service was very friendly and professional, as attentive as you want; and the atmosphere was relaxed and thoroughly enjoyable. I had the lamb, and would thoroughly recommend it.

Tasty food, generous portions at reasonable price. It's heaven for meat lovers but equally has many tasty vegetarian dishes. Great for eating in, take out or delivery. Very friendly service every time we have eaten in the restaurant and relatively child friendly. Has a little courtyard at the back with extra tables but that's where the smokers go and shisha smoking too so if you bring kids along I would suggest sitting inside instead. We have also ordered delivery from here many times before. We have found that ordering through apps like JustEat seems to be better and the order is less likely to be wrong cos in the evenings (especially weekends) it get busy and noisy so when placing an order over the phone we found we had to keep repeating ourselves and when it arrived part of the order was missing or wrong. Delivery time could be an hour plus at busy times as all the kebabs and meat are freshly cooked but it is certainly worth the wait. Very often we would order an hour before we intend to eat, knowing delivery would take a while and that has worked well.

The food here is so good. I usually grab the meal of the day, a nice cold drink and a shisha and just chill out at the back area. It's nice and relaxing. If you are cold, they have these lovely heaters and warm blankets. They have a wide range of middle Eastern food and sweets too. Would recommend for meals, family meals, dates and everything.

The food is *amazing*, the staff are *friendly* . But, the portion was too big for me bit they said they would wrap it up for me to take away. Very very good place to go and eat, well worth spending an hour and a half of your day or a trip into town. And it also has *Just Eat* Home delivery.

This is by far the best Levantine restaurant in Colchester. The food is always fresh and very generous. I would recommend the beiruti and the Greek salad is amazing. The place is really cozy, they have a covered back garden with sofas and small tables where you can smoke shishas as well. We ordered some drinks and some food. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Prices are very good as well.

Love this place! They have a seating area at the front and the back. The back is so nice and cosy and they have heaters which are amazing and they even give you covers if you are cold! At the back you can smoke shisha or at the front in the evening. They serve lovely traditional food as well as other types of dishes. Would definitely recommend, especially for shisha.

Nice enviornmet and awesome food. I had sunday buffet there. Veg as well as non-veg items with traditional "pulav" rice and breads were avilable. It could be a food heaven for ''non-veg" lover like me :). The lamb meat was so soft, juicy and tender. It just melted in my mouth like ice- cream. There was lamb, kofta, chicken, falafel etc. The ambience was good, the owner was so freindly. Along with the soft drink, the buffet would cost 14£. All in all, worth for money :)

Perhaps my favourite eatery in Colchester - pretty broad selection of Lebanese cuisine catering to both meat-eaters and vegetarians alike, all at a reasonable price, especially if you are sharing. The alcohol isn't cheap though. You can also enjoy a shisha in the covered garden area. My personal recommendation is the halloumi wrap with extra halloumi, and the homous with pitta which is a very generous portion.
