Evening meal was OK I did find it a bit cold in the restaurant as the blowers was directly over me but was unable to move seats as it was a little busy... Breakfast in the morning again little busy not enough staff on in relation to how many people came for Breakfast I was taken to my seat I was told someone will come and take my order I had some rice Krispy's while I waited again I was acknowledged but after 45 mins of waiting and still no Breakfast I had to leave to go to work there was no structure no order the staff that was on was buzzing around looking busy but they didn't cope very well the toaster wasn't working there was no sugar available except brown and that's no good on your krispys. Overall the location of the hotel was good for me for getting to work if I had to visit the area again I will give the Balkerne Gate Table Table another try and put my bad 2 days down to lack of experience by staff and some situations can't be helped.

The staff are polite and friendly. The food menu is abit limited but I do understand as other restaurants are still serving a limit menu's too. The food is ok nothing to really shout about but It does gets upgraded to a 4* as £9.50 for unlimited breakfast (and kids eat free) isn't bad value.

Superb breakfast best we've had in a long time. Anna was very friendly and efficient. Busy Saturday but service was great with hot fresh food. Very highly recommended. We are not local but were spending the day at Colchester zoo and this was a brilliant start. This is about 15 - 20 minutes away, we've tried other places a bit closer but this has been the best and worth travelling the extra few minutes.

Very much a case of you get what you pay for. The waiting staff were all very friendly although they are operating in an incredibly tired looking restaurant. Food wise, it's budget ingredients put together with limited care and served at about the price point it deserves, not a moan by any means, just an observation. If you're after top quality food, this isn't it, if you're after a cheap bite to eat it just about fits the bill.

Lovely enjoyable meal. Fast service to get us seated. Very quick to take starter/dinner order not so quick for taking pudding order or bringing over the bill, we ended up going to the bar as in the waitresses words "ooops so sorry I forgot to bring it over" Nice and quiet, not during busy hours, was a nice enjoyable meal out. Great food and lovely cocktails

Went along with a group of 12 for a friends birthday meal. Service was slow but that was probably due to the amount of people they were catering for. There was a good choice from the menu. The waitress worked so hard, making sure all of us were catered for. She certainly deserved a tip at the end of it.
