Lovely family restaurant. Busy, so best book in advance especially on the weekend. We had a lovely meal, there is something for everyone, even my fussy teenagers finished their plates. The staff were friendly, the owner took time to chat to each table which was a lovely gesture not often seen nowdays. We were not rushed to finish our meal by a certain time unlike other restaurants. Overall a great experience, we will definitely be going back again.

Fresh, hot and super tasty. Lovely cosy environment and the waitress and owner were very accommodating and chatty. The food was delicious and came out quick and the food menu is extensive. We will definitely be going back.

The food is delicious but the service is poor and they take a long time until you get your meal and they charge you on the Service as well and the prices in the menu are more than the prices when you order delivery

Food was very tasty, waitress was stressed and couldn't work her hand held computer properly to take orders, table not cleared after starters and then the mains came and there was no room on the table! When paying bill we were told they were trying to go cash only and wasn't very happy when we only had our card.....never ever known a restaurant to request cash only!!

Superb Turkish restaurant and takeaway located on North Hill, good selection of dishes with vegan options. Very polite staff. Takeaway was well presented and very good sized portions. Delivery was within the time period they told me. Highly recommended.

Nice food, but service whilst nice, it was a bit hit and miss despite restaurant being quiet. I will go back again, as the menu was extensive with some great choices. In summary, very worthy of a visit in my book?

Usually great food but recently I ordered through Colchester Eats, and the food come cold, mushed and missing a drink. When speaking to the restaurant they said they were not sure what drink I wanted, so rather than calling they took my money. Instead of a credit note or replacement, they said that they would speak to Colchester Eats, and I never received any news, or my money back. I will not be ordering here again.

Wonderful experience and the owner went above and beyond to ensure that we enjoyed our night out and yes this included even offering us a convinent parking spot. Family were really happy with the food and the service delivered! Definetly will visit again.

UPDATED July 2021 In a word, dreadful. The staff were completely overrun and we ended up having an awful evening. The mains came out before the starters, the wine we were recommended was disgusting. We did ask to try the wine first which most decent places allow but was told no. After telling them the wine was nasty, the staff became negative and couldn't be bothered with our table. The food was OK, not amazing. When we went to pay, the card machine wasn't working and they made it feel like it was our fault. After refusing to walk to the cash machine and back, we eventually had to pay by bank transfer. Not worth the £110 we paid. We won't go back. Restaurant wasn't taking part in the eat out to help out either. #rubbish My wife and I have since returned to Doga and they have clearly turned things around, we've eaten there twice in the past 4 weeks and the food and service has been far far better. Some really nice food!!!

We eat out in different Colchester restaurants once a week, and hadn't visited Doga before. We went on Friday for the first time and thought the evening was excellent, food delicious, restaurant clean, great value and the staff were brilliant, especially Louise. We liked it that much, we went back the following evening. We would not hesitate in recommending to our family and friends. Super place

WOW, what a great little restaurant, I have been to Mirra several times and thought i would try this one out and it is outstanding. Food was well cooked, great value for money and the friendly staff. You do get good sized portions and will be full by the end of your meal, but that is the mediterranean way. Definitely going again at some point and taking friends and family so they get to have a lovely meal out and enjoy what i have experienced.

Food was good. Staffs were friendly and helpful. Still few problems are there. Didn’t use their Toilet so can't comment on that. Their decoration specially lighting and tables are good. But their chairs are bit low. That means when you gonna enjoy food it will be little bit close, which I didn't like. That also mean for the children it will not much comfortable. Above all main problem we found there were platter on the menu. So at the end you need to spend a bit extra. I also found food is bit expensive here. But again this was my first Turkish experience in Colchester. So don't know about other much. Although I would say it was a very nice family evening last night we had. Very last thing. They need to work on door. Had to tell them few times to close the door, it was cold outside.

Top quality Turkish grill food at this new restaurant in Colchester. I got the mixed grill for my main course, was especially impressed by the presentation and it also tasted great. It was really cosy inside, good service, and reasonable prices! Would definitely recommend checking out if you want to try something new!
