Just had a swim at Colchester leisure pool, and you always need chips after a swim. Went to Fryday which is 5 mins round the corner and had the best freshly fried chips. Great size portion. It’s really clean and the guy frying was really friendly. Thanks!

Always a great meal from here - good food, perfectly cooked and fantastic portion size. The staff are always welcoming and friendly- esp Jade who deserves a lot of praise for her customer service and organisational skills at front of shop. Never had a bad meal or experience here (even during the lock-downs). Would recommend Frydays to everyone. Definitely one of, if not the best fish and chip shop in Essex. 10/10

Probably the best fish & chips in this area. The fish always taste fresh and moist, never a dried out texture, possibly because it is cooked as ordered straight from the display chilli in front of their customers. The batter is always crisp and never soft or doughy. although a little beer could improve on the batter recipe. Give it a go guys and girls add some Ale or Beer to your batter recipe mix. Guaranteed to be a much more desired taste. I bet the queuing and customers will come from miles if this small improvement was added to the taste. A slab of lemon on fish orders is a must. I would like to see this, Chips are always golden crisp just the way we like them. Food always rapped in paper bags never used plastic carriers which make the food sweat in they own steam, this means the food remains crisp during transportation. also good for our environment. Keep up the good service so far. Served by The lovely Jade and Phyl Milner and just look what they have done with the place. Table service, please book in advance. Delicious piece of cod.
