I have not expected it to be so lovely. From beautiful modern interior, to chef cooking in front of you. Friendly staff, delicious meal. We had a toddler and even so they had space for pushchair. Provided high chair. Happy to spend money in place like this. Next time I would come for the dinner with my loved one. Ps. Even toilets looking nice and clean. 😃

The cubes of lamb were so juicy and soft, I would definitely go back again. For the price of £23 (mixed grill + service charge) there were a lot of meat. I wasn't sure I would be able to finish it. The garlic and chili sauces were good. The bread was hot when served and very soft. The only thing I would change would be the portion of the rice - there could have been a bit more (too much meat, too little rice).

The food was amazing, perfect portion sizes and super tasty. With complimentary bread and salad. Service was incredible, very friendly and happy staff. Music choice was perfect, added a nice ambience without being too much. Absolutely fantastic experience, I would highly recommend it.

Had heard great things about this place from colleagues. Went with high expectations which were nearly all met. The food cannot be faulted; perfectly cooked and seasoned. And absolutely delicious. Only minor observation was the ice cream dessert coming with sprinkles felt a bit childish. But otherwise the portions and taste were all spot on. On the night we went, service seemed to be missing the mark a bit. Small things like having to ask for more drinks after having empty glasses for a while, asking to see dessert menus after our mains had been cleared. It wasn't exactly busy from what we could see either. When we arrived, the couple next to us had empty plates for ten minutes before being cleared. In saying this though, it might have just been an off night. And it definitely doesn't deter us from coming back. Fantastic dining.

Great evening! The best meal I have had for a long time. My Turkish Lamb Stew was absolutely first class. The Lamb had so much flavour and was lovely and tender. We dined with Friends and We all had good meals and really enjoyed ourselves. We hadn't dined upstairs before and it's so beautiful! Friday night was a hot evening. We dined at 7.15 and the atmosphere was terrific, there was no rush and everyone was enjoying themselves The service was great. Our Friends hadn't been before and they loved it! There is quite an extensive menu here and the food is beautifully cooked. Well done Mirra!

It has to be said that thus place knows how to cook authentic Turkish food. Simply stunning, very well presented, and the staff are warm friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend and I will be visiting again for sure. Give them a go.

Great looking restaurant, tasty food. Los of staff, but a little lack of attention. I had to call them out to order, get drinks after meal or ask for the bill. Other then that everything was great. Maybe there were new staff in training, I'm not sure. Food was very tasty, very presentable. Coffee was great. Even toilets took amazing there.

This restaurant was recommended by a friend and I wasn’t disappointed. The portions are generous and filling. The food is full of flavours from all the spices. My favourite thing from that dinner was the yoghurt dip that they bring at the beginning with some freshly baked bread😋 The waiter was very welcoming and friendly👌🏻

This is a good restaurant. I had the salmon and my wife had the lamb mix. Our meals were delivered early, and we both enjoyed our choices. The staff are also very professional and were always attentive and ready to attend to us. Well recommended

Food is very nice and a nice ambience, however I do feel it is pricey for essentially 7 pieces of chicken, some rice, and a token slice of mushroom and tomato. A small bowl of salad was given for 3 of us. I thought we would ask get a bowl each.

I went here with my family to celebrate my birthday. We could not fault the staff, they were attentive, kind and very polite. The food was outstanding with perfect portion sizes and nothing was too much trouble. My daughter booked the table and told them it was a birthday celebration. When it came to dessert time I was surprised by the waiter bringing a slice of chocolate fudge cake with a candle in it and he got all the staff and customers to sing happy birthday. I was made to feel so special. We didn’t ask for this but it made our evening. THANK YOU MIRRA STAFF. We’ll come back again.

We had heard such good things about Mirra and I had been there a few years ago with work colleagues and had a great meal. However on this occasion, service was really slow and our food was over cooked and very dry. They were clearly short staffed, unfortunately no apologies were made for our experience.

Took my boyfriend here for a birthday treat as he loved the smells drifting out every time we've walked past. I'm so glad I chose this place as the service was very professional and friendly. I'd spent two days trying to go around Colchester trying to set up a new business plan and the manager let me come in to take photographs. Since then I've been back quite a few times! Fantastic food. Great atmosphere. Service is quick and staff friendly. This place has a very special vibe, and we've now visited a few times. We love the fresh bread and condiments as a starter (the chilli sauce is delicious). Do order a side salad - the pomegranate seeds and dressing is just heavenly. Also vegetarian options available, I can definitely recommend vegetarian moussaka with plenty of aubergine in it, delicious. Kids' menu available.

Really really nice food. It might seem expensive when you look at the menu but the amount of food you get is well worth it. Only down side was that we waited ages to take our drink order, it was a Saturday afternoon and it wasn't that bust and there was 9 floor staff on. Other then that will definitely be going back.

Amazing succulent lamb shish! I regularly have turkish food especially in North london however this lamb shish is the best I have tasted. It was so soft! Service was great and parking is free in the evenings. I plan to make this a regular place to visit! I recommend the lahmacun as a starter.

Very good Turkish food ,offering a fine dining experience but the waiters doesn't have a good knowledge of the dishes or they have but are not able to explain it as English is not them first language, the chiken kofta was taste very wird and when I asked for ingredients and the way how is cook they didn't know ,in my opinion for a place with high standards and prices the staff should have a good knowledge of the menu

We were here on a particularly busy night as a large party of 12. We sat upstairs where there was three other large groups though, you wouldn't know it based on how attentive the staff was. First visit to this restaurant so its my first impression. We were greeted by a very curtius member of staff whom took us to our table. Very nice atmosphere inside the restaurant. The food we ordered was not precooked so we had to wait a little while which was not a problem. The food was cooked to perfection, the only criticism was that it didn't fill us up. The down side to this visit was that after I had paid the bill , I noticed that they had added a service charge. Which I wasn't please about. If the staff had gone above and beyond in the service then fair innough, but it should be left up tp the customer to choose whether or not they leave a tip.

We stumbled on this restaurant when we arrived in Colchester tired and hungry. We were blown away by the friendliness of the staff and quality of the food. We ordered 6 mezze dishes, all of which were fantastic. Spicy prawns and cheese parcels were personal favourites but couldn't fault any of it. Came here last night with two colleagues on a trip to Colchester. Nice vibe when you walk in, good music playing, and all the food prep there for you to see. I was here today with 2 of my friends (we are all from Croatia). The service at this restaurant surpassed all my expectations - from incredibly good food to extremely attentive staff. They asked us a couple of times how we found the food, if we were happy, etc. They were very friendly and asked us where we are from, how to say "thank you" in Croatian and similar things. It definitely made the atmosphere warm and friendly... which mixed with great and tasty food makes me think it is definitely the best restaurant in Colchester! A girl usually has her go to place & Mirra is actually mine!! I've eaten more at this restaurant (plus many takeaways) than at any other place in the whole of Colchester! It's my favourite eatery. The restaurant always has a great atmosphere with extremely friendly helpful staff as well as the beautiful back ground music playing so you can hear it but it's not too much so you can hear yourself talk. The menu is varied with great choices from starters, mains, sides & desserts. There is a separate drinks menu that covers everything from Champagne to sparkling water. Back to their delicious food. I very much highly recommend you try their lentil soup but don't eat it all as you won't have lots of room for the main eating event, your main meal. I love their mixed seafood shish, the lamb shank & the lamb adana with yoghurt. All mains come with salad & rice. You can add on sides like chips etc. You can even see the your food being cooked over the coals. Everything in this restaurant is very clean, tidy & orderly When the sun is out they open up the front window doors which is very nice. Please do try Mirra if youre able too. Best food i have ever eaten at in colchester 🥰🥰🥰. It’s a bit expensive but its worth it 🤌🏼. TAVUK SIS (CHICKEN SKEWERS) is my favourite and i don’t think anyone wont like it unless you are a vegetarian. Personally i would say the yogurt dishes were not to my liking. I think its not a safe choice for the first time going there.🤟🏼✌️

Food was really good. However, service was awful. We waited 20 minutes for someone to take our order, ordered drinks after our starter and were still waiting after we finished our main. Another 15 minute wait for the bill when all we wanted to do was leave to actually get a drink. It seems if you’re a regular, you get served quickly and have attentive staff. If you’re not, you might as well be invisible.

Best restaurant in colchester, even though it was on the expensive side. However its all worth the money. There is no service charge and the staff are very nice. The best dish in my opinion is lamb skewers. The mix kebab was great too.

Good food at reasonable prices. They serve various tasty Turkish dishes. They sell a variety of beverages including alcoholic and non alcoholic cocktails. The staff are friendly and helpful and the restaurant is well decorated and clean. The only thing for me that let it down is that the toilets were not in the best order.

I have visited Mirra three times now and have been extremely happy every time with the excellent food and excellent customer service every single time. Very friendly and attentive staff. Had a fantastic night at Mirra! From the moment we walked in the staff were friendly & attentive, but not pushy. Drinks arrived within minutes of being ordered, so did the food nothing was too much for them. They gave us plenty of time to eat and chat and the food was gorgeous (hot, tasty and plenty of it). Have had takeaway from here a few times and it's always been good. Finally managed to eat in last weekend and wasn't disappointed. We were welcomed with warm bread and dips and for our nation's we both went for a mixed grill, to sample a bit of everything. Kofte, chicken shish, lamb chops, quail doner near, with rice and bulgar, served with a delicious salad dressed with pomegranate seeds. Washed out down with a bottle of pinot noir and the grand total was £74, which was pretty reasonable considering the amount of food we had and the bottle of wine. Always very busy on a Saturday night so booking is advisable, as it is with anywhere half decent in Colchester on a Saturday night. The only downside was the automatic opening and serving of a bottle of sparkling water, without being asked and being charged for it.

The food here really is amazing. I usually eat Turkish food in London where there is much competition which results in only top quality food and I was quite surprised to find this restaurant, even without local competition, really does have some of the finest lamb shish over charcoal I have ever had. Marinade was also one of the best. I cannot comment on any other dishes so far. The only reason why I have only given four stars is due to the portion sizes being slightly on the small side when compared with the traditional Turkish dishes. I feel that the focus has been more in the presentation rather than the quantity. I would also say that the salad was probably not as Turkish as expected but nevertheless, a highly recommended restaurant with real fine food. And that's coming from a Turk 😁

Asked for olive oil and oil arrived. The waiter was not very helpful with this situation. After paying a deposit of £45 a week before as we had a large party it was not taken off the final bill! Until we recognised this! Be awear of your bill when a deposit is paid! Otherwise everyone else's food was nice and I would still go back!
