By far the best fish and chip place in Colchester. Chicken wraps I only tried recently but wow there amazing & the fish and chips are always huge portions. We’ve never been disappointed and the delivery is usually pretty prompt even on busier nights. Would defo recommend to friends 10/10

Ordered recently to the hospital where i am admitted. Food was quite cold, the chips were hard and the fish just didn’t seem up to the standard they claimed. Strangest tasting paste like curry sauce, made me feel more unwell before my operation. Will call back to see what customer service they have to offer. Review can be amended then.

Very friendly staff, fresh food and decent portions, 100% value for money! I was very disappointed with my regular place, thought I'd give Zara's a chance and I will not go back to the other place at all. Don't be afraid to try this place, you won't be disappointed, thank you very much for the decent dinner you served me with a smile even though you seemed very busy. It's a bonus I don't need to order online as it's 10 mins walk away from me! Love it!

I've tried my first fish and chips here and I can say that the flavor of fish is luscious. The only thing I recommend is to salt the fish inside and less outiside. P.s. The owner is so friendly.

OMG!!!guys you are the best!!! We had beautiful family meal,everything was so fresh and perfectly cooked.my kids never eat fish and they loved your fish and chips!!! service is quick,I have called in earlier and placed my order,everything was cooked while i was walking to pick it up and wraped in front of me,which most of the chip shops don't do,they usually wrap in advance to get rid of you quicker which makes food soggy by the time you are at home. well done!!!

Best fast food in Colchester, period. Ever since I moved to Colchester, I have been searching for the best fast food restaurant here. I can finally say that I have found THE ONE. I ordered a 1/2 pounder and chips and I don’t think i have ever been so blown away by fast food before. I was totally stunned! 5/5 Taste, 5/5 presentation, 5/5 price Thank you Zara’s Fish Bar!

This is by far the best chippy in New Town. Staff are all always really friendly, and so accommodating. The grilled fish is a great gluten free option and they have a good varied of choices if fish isn't your thing. Food cooked fresh from order so expect a short wait or phone ahead.

Food is great and served fresh and as quick as possible! Even quicker when you order prior on the phone, Honesty amazing food and working there I get to enjoy it all the time and never worked with better people, getting to know all the customers and orders has become a easy rememable process, very welcoming and comfortable place to get your fish and chips as well as other delicious meals, including: pies, sausages, fish cakes, seafood basket, calamari.scampi,prawns,half chicken and new on the menu, sfc pieces and chicken wings, don’t forget your curry sauce or mushy peas or even our home made garlic,yogurt,mint;mayo sauce😍
