Absolutely gorgeous food as always! Its one of our favourite places to eat! And there saver menu for 2 or 3 courses is an absolute bargain! We'll definitely be back. I had fried calamari. Chicken roast dinner and ice cream 😍

Visited for my mums birthday and have to say ,the food was fantastic! We chose the 3 courses for £14.95 and paid extra for our drinks so it was great value for money,the service was great and it has a lovely atmosphere, can't wait to go back again!!

Very expensive, not a lot of food. For the money not worth it. Menus were given out and it stated about items marked with a particular symbol were so many courses for £X, however when it came to the bill this was apparently not the case it was only till 6pm. This was not apparent on the menu given (It may have been hidden in the small print who knows) Anyway food arrived portions very small, egg overdone on fishcake. No cider on even though on menu, not everyone likes beer/larger or wants wine. Average food for an expensive price

Had a lovely meal as usual but on getting our bill I noticed that they had charged my wife 0.95p for her gluten free bread, where as my normal bread was complimentary. Its not the cost that's the issue but being charged for having a disability/intolerance. The manager was apologetic but did nothing but say "that's the company rules". What's tomorrow's going to be: A £1 charge for a large print menu because you only have one eye, or how about a £2 charge for wheelchair users in case they have to move a chair. How about a £5 charge for anyone with a nut intolerance. Come on Pierre Bistro, do the right thing and stop punishing people with intolerances....SHAME ON YOU. Check your bills and complain.

This place isn't the same as it used to be. Had to pre order as there were 8 of us but on arrival they informed us they hadn't received our order. Very slow to get drinks and first course. No complimentary bread which is a shame - used to love a nibble on the crusty bread & butter! Food was nice, well presented & freshly cooked. Lost its sparkle in my opinion. Food is ok & prices are ok but wouldn't rush back. In my opinion there are nicer places to go with better service & atmosphere.

They literally saved my first night last year in Derby - Aug 2020. Simple but very consistent food! French classic, you never get wrong :D end of the mean leave always a smile on your face. I remember was a very busy night, last August, but a pleasant ambient. Definitely want to come back :D

A wonderful venue for a Christmas Day meal, and superb food that not only looks fantastic, but is packed full of flavour too. The best Christmas Day meal I've ever eaten in a restaurant. No wonder this restaurant is always fully booked on this particular day. The staff are so friendly, welcoming, helpful and smiling at you. Pierre Bistro Derby is fully deserving of 5 stars ☆ for everything that makes this day special. Top marks for the head chef. the staff in the kitchen, and all the staff front of house for everything they did to make it a very special day.

The place itself is lovely, from the rustic tables to its modern staircase! The food was also lovely there just wasn't enough of it. A table of 7 made to share 6 potatoes, a small bucket of fries and a tiny dish with under cooked vegetables. Apart from that friendly staff and a good drink menu.

Love this place. Food is amazing as always, it's cheap yet it's also a first class dining experience. I had the vegan toast et champignon, along with the vegan summer risotto, so it's great for those with specific dietary needs. If you're after a meal out to celebrate, this is the place.

This continues to be one of Derby's nicest restaurants as it has been for a long time. Very pleasant ambience, always a decent beef dish and wine list. Maybe the staff can be a bit rushed off their feet at peak times.

Had the Valentine Menu for £34. Had a share camembert with a lovely damson chutney and sough dough bread. It was wonderful,hot and creamy. Had fillet steak medium well,with dauphinoise potatoes and wilted spinach and a jus. Omg I've never had such a good steak in ages. £5 supplement but worth it as cooked to perfection. I took my time over my steak to savour the texture. No fat no gristle just lean tasty beef. Pudding was creme brulee. My favourite pud. The sugar crunched on the top as it hit it with my spoon to get the lovely creamy custard dessert underneath. It tasted so nice and a good sized portion too. I was stuffed after my free glass of bubbly. Our host was wonderful too. First time going but I'll definitely go again for top cuisine. Thankyou chef and staff for great service and food. 😙👌

As I have use a wheelchair I was rather concerned about access. But I needn't have worried, my friend and I were seated in a spacious area with easy access and all of the staff were wonderful. Praise to the staff who were very busy, but everyone was very friendly. We shall be back soon.

Standards at Bistrot Pierre, on previous visits are always high. Alas, not on this occasion. The meal was adequate. Starter of 3 very small fried brie, served on a hot plate, meant the green salad was completely wilted. Main of steak and pomme frites, was adequate the accompanying brandy & green peppercorn sauce runny and lacked flavour. Disappointing. Still highly recommend as this is the first time I have found a meal disappointing.

Visited Bistrot Pierre for the first time yesterday and I can honestly say it was a fabulous experience that I'd love to do again. We had a warm welcome from the staff member who met us at the door and equally warm welcome and superb service from the staff members who served our table. Pierre's has a great menu with plenty of choice and a very reasonable price for 2 or 3 courses. The fresh bread served with butter and a carafe of water with lemon were nice touches on the table. Highly recommended.

When this Bistro is busy it does have atmosphere: a plus, but service suffers: a minus. I was impressed by the Vegan main course offer, but overall vegan options are still restricted...there is no imaginative dessert option (eg sorbet) and no other choice. The upstairs room, has a table in front of the open door of the small kitchen area...and this is, frankly, unpleasant to sit at. I was disappointed that the house champagne was unavailable (it was a special celebration meal) but I was impressed by the assistance and steps to put this right. Otherwise, the meal was tasty and good value...but we had to wring every bit of service from the - pleasant - staff member...clearly covering more than was ideal. Check-in was also somewhat disorganised. I would return...but would cancel if I had the same table, mentioned here!

The member of staff that greeted us was very pleasant and welcoming, the lady who served us was efficient but not friendly and plates were slammed down on the table although, apart from drinks, she seemed to be serving on her own and it was fairly busy so perhaps she was just trying to get everything done quickly. The appetisers were overpriced given the portion sizes - I think we had 8 olives for £3 and 5 chorizo pieces for £3! This has definitely changed. The mains were OK but nothing special. The highlight was the desserts and the cabernet sauvignon! I wouldn't hurry back- shame.

It was great to go out for a meal to a familiar place. The team at Pierre's were great. Especially as they had only been open for 3 days when we went and I am sure they had to learn both new ways of working as well as blowing the cobwebs off after their enforced break. Will definitely be going back. The value is the same as before which was good as I was expecting price changes. Although my favourite dishes had sold out already and I had to choose other options, this seemed like good news as it suggested that one of our favourite places to eat was doing well. The covid table spacing was nice and both the staff and the other diners around us were relaxed. The place was in already nearly full when we arrived and it was nice to see a mixed group together after the isolation of lock down.

Nov 2018 was our first visit with my Aunt & Uncle who are regulars. Back then the mention of a loyalty scheme made us a little dubious but the food really was amazing back then and still is now. Not faultless but errors quickly put right. Service was a lot better this time round, probably because we weren’t sat behind an enormous pillar. Atmosphere is great if you like a loud place. We understand lunch times can be just as busy as dinner so be sure to book.

We enjoyed our 'afternoon tea' at Bistrot Pierre. We had responded to a promotional email and made a reservation for late afternoon. We drank our earl grey while waiting for our food. Quite a surprise when it came.......... a three tier cake stand, with one plate full of large baguettes. Reminiscent of a picnic or maybe a ploughmans at the pub. They were very tasty with good fillings but oh dear, not easy to manage! Extra plates and serviettes were called for. We mentioned later that some dainty, crust-off sandwiches would better suit the occasion. This was not well received - it seems a French restaurant expects to serve baguettes! We left half of the baguettes and these were happily wrapped up for us to take home. The scones, jam and cream were enjoyed even if the scones were somewhat dull. A little more cream would have been nice! We still had a very nice berry compote, slice of lemon tart and chocolate eclair. So, a lovely afternoon, well looked after by Bistrot Pierre excellent staff, and pleasant food. Would we go for afternoon tea again? ....... perhaps not.

Busy night for a Monday, we were seated upstairs which is so lovely and nicely spaced out. Great atmosphere which is accentuated by the friendly, efficient and attentive waiters and waitresses. Fantastic food. Risotto starter, Lamb shoulder main and Chocolate mousse all of excellent quality. I really wanted to try their Onion Soup but they'd sold out earlier in the evening, which was a shame but completely understandable considering how busy they were. Very good selection of wines and robust flavourful coffee. This Is a really reliable place to come to and I'd recommend it to anyone.

Service was outstanding. We showed up very late for a reservation (with a client) but were still seated and very well looked after. The front manager was VERY welcoming and understanding. She even let us know when someone else cancelled so that we were able to keep the table longer. Food was good as expected and the atmosphere was also very nice. But there was a lot of staff seemingly not that busy and one waitress kept looking at us and half walking over then walking away! Tables seated 20 mins after us had there drink orders taken 20 seconds after ours, like they were filling a section then taking all the orders in one go on purpose which was annoying as it was just a quick lunch we was after! Tasty food but small portions. For a French restaurant usual traditions were not followed i.e. pouring of wine. We attended in a big party and they'd forgotten about one of our guests and her meal came 10 minutes after the rest of us. We have been many times before and every time we have found the food and the service faultless, admittedly there are times when it is really busy we have had to wait a while. There is always a good choice from starters through mains and deserts, added this the menu is also evolving so something new is added throughout the year. We usually opt for the early bird menu, which consists of Early Evening. Two courses for £15.95 per person add in a bottle of wine a few gins and it is a good night at a reason cost for fine food. Our Anniversary was no exception, we would not hesitate to recommend it to friends and family.

I've been to Bistrot at least a couple of dozen times over the last 14 years or so, probably more, and it is still a venue that offers good food and service at acceptable prices, the early bird offering is the one to aim for. Sadly it is nothing like what it used to be, which was a French-only inspired menu with food that was cooked by chefs with passion and flair, with its only drawback at the time being lack of menu variety. Sadly they've taken it a little too far, offering too much variety and becoming more mainstream as a jack of all trades restaurant, which they struggle to compete with as that area is already filled with better options. Great choice still, just a shame they have moved away from their niche, which was a place they dominated, and the food is just missing that mouth watering perfection of depth and flavour.

Had many many meals here over the past few years but standard dropped a little the last couple of times. Although my meal was fine there were a couple in our party disappointed in their main meal and the vegetables which were undercooked. To be fair after mentioning this the chef agreed quality was not good and they did not have to pay. We would rather have a good meal than a refund. We no longer seem to get the money off vouchers which always encouraged us to come back. We may look for an alternative venue next time.

The wife found it a bit warm on a hot Friday night but I was sat under the air conditioning so of course I agreed with her despite being lovely and comfortable 😈 onto the important bit, my food was wonderful but my wife got the wrong sauce on her steak, ordered by me as she had gone to the loo, of course I took the blame after, even though it was her fault really!

I chanced upon Le Bistro Pierre on my first visit to Derby when they were holding one of their bi-weekly "soiree gastronomique" evenings, a six-course taster menu for a very respectable £22.95. I duly opted for said menu and knew immediately I was onto a winner when I was asked if I wanted my steak blue, rare or medium rare (no options for medium or well, i.e. ruined!). A particular highlight was the thyme-laden dauphinoise potatoes, but the creme brulee was delicious too, and just what you hope for in a decent French bistro. This is a deceptively large restaurant and despite it being packed, each course arrived without delay. The waiting staff were friendly and attentive at all times in spite of how busy they clearly were. All-in-all I couldn't fault it, and I would definitely return.
