A delightful family restaurant in an unexpected location in the Derby suburbs. Very comfortable, with friendly service and nicely cooked, well presented food. The traditional Sunday Roast is excellent, and there are two/three course priced menus. The wine list is very good, with some niche wines at great value prices. Booking essential. Highly recommended.

After pandemic travel delays and previous two years of unsuccessful attempts to get a reservation. On a recent visit to our home town we had a traditional Sunday Dinner with family at Browns. The facility, staff and food were all first class, well worth the wait and flight from Canada!

Food good and well looked after by Gemma. However, not a suitable restaurant for people with mobility problems due to steep stairs inside. Several people were concerned about them and two friends could not join us as there was no lift.

Absolutely STUFFED !!! What a great find. Lovely small and relaxed restaurant with a great atmosphere, great food with a very personal service. Small and intimate location. Will definitely go back soon. Try it ☺I'm sure you won't be disappointed. We had the Venison...superb and cooked to perfection.

Hidden diamond off a restaurant.Wouldn't expect it from small entrance which opens up to a free car park and tidy smart building. Inside nicely deco but more important the food was excellent,staff and owner were helpful nice and pleasant.Had Sunday lunch roast beef and vegetables was cooked just right not over or under done. Highly recommended.

My friend booked this as a belated birthday gift for Sunday lunch. Great atmosphere, interior and super cosy for Sunday lunch. The staff and the manager provided an excellent friendly service ensuring all our needs were met. I will definitely be going back. My friend came from Liverpool and said it was well worth it 😊. The food was absolutely delicious, great portion sizes and excellent value for money. Thank you to everyone at Browns keep up the excellent work.

Food was very good apart from the roast potatoes which were OK but fairly taste less. Beef was lovely. Surprisingly today service was very slow especially our starters and no one brought a wine list until we asked. All in all though the staff are lovely and we'll go again!

Fabulous dining experience. All the waiting staff are extremely attentive and pleasant. Georgie at front of house was a star and sorted out some superb vegan options for me. All of our party enjoyed their meals. Thank you Browns for a lovely evening. Would definitely recommend.

Classy restaurant with a good ambience. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We went for Sunday lunch which was delicious. Good selection of vegetables. The desserts were excellent. We went with a toddler who shared his mum's meal, and we were provided with a high chair and offered a Yorkshire pudding and ice cream for him. So we felt very welcome. Looking forward to going again to try the evening menu.

We had a wonderful meal at browns. We went for my mums birthday and she had a great time. The food was amazing and service 2nd to none. Nice to dine somewhere you aren't rushed out and you have the table for the evening. I recommend the fillet steak. Delicious

Well what can I say from start to finish it was absolutely perfect. The staff are great, they look after you & are happy to help with a smiling face. The food was excellent, the steak was cooked as requested (which is rare normally) & the chicken was superb. My only tiny tiny niggle is that you should get air conditioning, but for me you rate 5 stars ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Very tasty food, gentle servents who are paying high attention to the needs of the guests and tasty choice of vine. The only "bad" thing I could say about it is the lack of daylight in there. Shading the rooms for sure brings the attention of the guests to the very detailed lights on ceiling and walls but as long as its bright outside, i would prefer daylight.

A great place to eat. A little bit off radar but that's no bad thing. Well presented arrangement although there could be a little bit more ambient music, especially at this time of year. There isn't a drinks menu and if you want a draught beer then you have to ask! When we booked we had a little bit of difficulty getting a reasonable time but when we got there, the restaurant was only 1/3 full. The waiting on staff were very polite and helpful. Our meal of fish and chips was tasty but the peas were a bit of a disater and the tartare sauce lacked capers and was a bit runny. Overall a great place. We will definitely be going back.

My first choice of restaurant was booked till 9pm which was too late so started searching on TripAdvisor. I found Browns in Littleover which we had never heard of, took a chance and booked. What a find, excellent food served professionally, in very pleasant surroundings. If you're looking for a large menu this is not the place for you, but what they do produce is first class and we could not fault. On top of this the food and drinks were very fairly priced. The food, drinks and service very much reminded us of an old favourite restaurant which was White's in Ashbourne, now sadly gone. All I can say us that we will return and it is now top of our list.

Organised a surprise Birthday dinner for my best friend. We were 8 of us and all of us thought Browns Restaurant was a perfect choice. Beautiful and clean, posh and cosy. The food was exceptional, freshly made and delicious. Very helpful and friendly staff.. Just spot on!!! Will return for sure!!

I went here a few months back with my other half for a birthday celebration meal & we really enjoyed it. Littleover/Mickleover has been missing a decent restaurant for as long as I can remember. I’ve now been to Browns over a dozen times with friends as a group, just me and the wife and with the kids, every time has been amazing. The food has always been exceptional ranging from perfect steak to fish. I’m a big lover of a cheese board, there’s is great. The service is spot on, plenty of time to to eat, not rushed but not left waiting. If you’ve not been, try it for yourselves. Clive webster, littleover local.

Went to browns last night with friends and was not disappointed .... had the seafood chowder to start (OMG) .... divine, had venison as a main which was really good and well presented... cheese board to finish ... staff were excellent and the restaurant was busy which is nice to see ... we have a gem of a restaurant in Derby ... 10/10 👍
