A wonderful takeaway/restaurant that serves quality food and drink to its customers for a good price! The service was fast today, and the welcome warm, my food was ready within a minute and i was on my jolly way! I highly recommend taking a pit stop in this traditional fish and chip shop!

A lovely chippy offering a range chip shop fare. Reasonable prices and the 'click and collect' function via the app is very useful. Portion sizes are generous; we had a very nice family tea from there.

Not used this chippy b4 and dont think i will again waited a while for a small and medium chips and a battered sausage sign on the wall saying maybe a wait as they like to cook your food fresh but our chips were under cooked and so many bad chips in them which should be thrown away when cut . Poor

A traditional chippy, providing fresh quality food. Eat in or take out. Also offers a customer loyalty card, gaining 10p for every £1 spent. Recommend you try the lunch menu, some good meal deals. Amy is a trooper and a very hard worker. Who provides excellent customer service.

My work colleagues and I all love this George's Tradition shop. The food is excellent, the chips are always great and the fish is superb too, so are the other items like chicken, sausages, etc. We often like fish goujons for a lunchtime snack. The staff are excellent too, friendly, efficient, helpful, they really are great and deserve a lot of praise for the shop's good atmosphere. In short this chip shop is hard to beat, it's genuinely difficult to imagine how it could be better. Our only criticism is, it's so popular it's often crowded!

No ability to pre book a table, not a problem at lunch time, but busy late afternoon. Food was excellent, however main meal came out minutes after starters!! service was slow at times, but staff pleasant. Had to ask a few times for the bill, & for coffee's. But would go again.

Consistently top quality fish and chips, with the usual options - mushy peas, beans, sausages etc. The staff are polite and friendly, and if you want to adapt the meal deal options they're always happy to oblige. The only potential gripe is that you sometime have to wait, especially at peak times, but as the reason for this is that they cook more or less to order so you never get food that's been on the hotplate for hours I think that's a small price to pay - and you can take a seat in the restaurant area while you're waiting of you so desire.

A really good quality traditional Chippy - and, oh my days, so many chips. I got a large chips from there and they just messed me up with chips. Chips for days. I tried eating them, giving them away, hiding them in surprising places, building small structures from them - still more chips. Chips upon chips upon chips. Probably enough chips for me to open my own pop-up shop selling chips and have enough chips for a full days custom. Madness.

A fine chippy. Both the fish and the chips are cooked to perfection. My only gripe is that the portion sizes can be a bit variable. I generally come here for a small fish, small chips combo - nothing too heavy for lunch - and there's this one guy that's proper stingy with the chips. I know I said small but come on. This is a proper fish bar too by the way, I mean they do sausages and stuff like that but no kebabs or pizzas. I'm not even sure they do saveloys. If you're after a saveloy probably ring to check before making the trip.

Went in for sausage chips and curry. Partner had fish chips and mushy peas. Not one of us can fault the meal. Chips are cooked to perfection same as the sausage and fish, very friendly and approachable attitude from the staff 5*

Definitely, without any shadow of a doubt, the best fish and chips in all of Derby. Even the best in the George's Tradition chain. I would visit for my tea most Monday evenings when I had a client base in Allestree. The fryer (chef) certainly takes great pride in cooking fish to perfection. Chips too. On one occasion I made a point of complimenting him on his excellent standards going on to ask him of there was an award I could nominate him for - Best chippy in UK, or similar. For an extra couple of minutes driving it's well worth giving George's Tradition at Park Farm centre a visit.

The food was ok. Kind of feel a bit robbed when at those prices, you are charged 30p for a 5p sachet of sauce... then to add to it all, found a long hair in my chips.. The rest if the family enjoyed it but I doubt I'll go back.

It's a takeaway but you can sit inside to eat. Always great food, always great prices. Never had a bad meal here. Staff are polite, helpful and friendly. One downside is there's no toilets

I'm A Derby man and I've always loved Georges chippie. 10 years ago I moved to live down south and a year ago I moved to the Isle of Man. Although found some decent chip shops in these places, nothing compared to George's. Everytime my family and I visit Derby we have to visit the shop. Great food at great prices, its definitely the best chip shop I've ever visited m

Very popular fish and chip shop with an eat in or take away option,they also offer hot drinks in proper mugs at this one,nice seating area,the staff have always been friendly when i've been in.It gets pretty busy but waiting time is kept to a minimum but a short wait is worth it for the fact that you know your fish is fried fresh (no sad looking bits on a hot plate here).Good value for money with plenty of choice and they often have special offer vouchers that you can print off too.
