L.A HIDDEN GEM OF A RESTRAUNT.
Two of us turned up on spec 04/02/22. Given a warm welcome by staff, within seconds we were offered a table, despite restraunt being very busy.
All the food we ordered was amazing, well presented, very tasty and full of flavour. Quickly served by very friendly staff. At the end of it the bill for two, was less than I payed in london for mediocre food for one.

A very welcome choice, considering the deluge of curry houses throughout the region. Many are good, of course. Countless are quite ordinary. This was outstanding and it's just a matter of having to wait until next time.

C. H.Ordered for the first time in a while, and we were blown away by the flavour, the quality of the veg, the delivery time - everything. Excellent.
K.Have takeaway ordered a few times now and the food is generally great. Unfortunately today was sent the wrong item (containing lamb instead of chicken). The correct sauce with chicken was delivered after letting them know, however they didn't replace the rice that comes in the set, half of which I mixed with the lamb sauce by accident before realising their mistake. This means half my rice went to waste too as I don't eat lamb and the rice sauce combo tasted strongly of lamb. They asked for the lamb back as well on delivery (first time I've encountered such practice, really weird). Quite disappointed with the customer service, literally doing the bare minimum to rectify the mistake. If you want to retain your customers I would reconsider how you handle this in the future.

Nothing over the top, but the waitress was polite & not pushy at all about having a drink. We asked for some water & she brought a jug of water. The starter was really tasty...fresh & very hot. The main course was the same. Excellent meal in a nice atmosphere. We will definitely go back there again the next time we're in the area.

My wife had a lamb dish which included rice and bread which was plenty for both of us. The lamb was one of the tastiest dishes we have ever had. Great way to round off the evening.

It was early so I went with my gut and thought I’d stay. Food was excellent, cobra on draft and by the time I left the restaurant if was nearly full which is impressive for a Wednesday night.

J. C.Always a warm welcome. Food is well presented and is a change from the standard British curry houses. Really well rounded flavours, light, fluffy breads and lovely salad and veg garnishes. I've always got courtesy poppadom and pickles. Great selection of food - something for everyone. Also good beer selection: Mongoose and draught and at least 2 other Asian beers different to the norm before you get to bog standard Cobra.
Restaurant interior is clean, tidy and warm and the bedbugs hygiene standard is high.

K. B.The 3 of us had tried getting here twice before, but weren't successful as this pace gets full pretty fast, unless you have made a prior reservation. Finally we went there on a mid week late evening, 7-30 ish and were able to get a seat. They have a decent ambiance and friendly and courteous staff who greets you. We ordered the chicken tandoori as starters. It came out a tad under-cooked and when brought to the attention of the captain was promptly and courteously replaced with a new cooked one. No unnecessary defense there by the staff and they were very apologetic of the incident, so no issues there. For mains we ordered the Chicken vindaloo and Alu Tama Karahi with nan/roti. Both dishes turned out very good and tasty. The chicken, we specially asked them to make it spicy and it didn't disappoint, was nice and tender and had a great taste to it. The veg dish was also good. Portion sizes are pretty good. 3 people can share 2 mains amongst them. Drinks are competitively priced and won't burn a hole in your pocket as they do in other restaurants. Overall a very good place and definite regular in future.

Main meal...had a tikka masala... slightly disappointed in it and not as expected, however appreciate that not all restaurants serve the dish the same way. Himalayan Gurkha is a nice open place with great service. For someone who was unfamiliar with Nepalese food, the staff took their time to explain what each item was and were able to suggest a great combination of dishes to make for a memorable meal.

A. D.What sets the Himalayan Gurkha apart from other Indian restaurants is that it does not present itself as a Tamarind of Mayfair, Lasan of Birmingham or Anoki in Derby... However, It delivers quality food on par with these 5 Star/Michelin establishments (with the best cuts of meat using fresh ingredients), yet remarkably at below average prices in a 'wholesome, comfortable, family friendly' environment, The layout and decor befits a traditional Indian/Nepal family dining room! The service I receive from Nava the Manager is impeccable e.g ordering a take out; the kitchen called me back to asked me how spicy (heat) I wanted each of my dishes (as I had forgotten to specify). The fact that they serve jasmine rice mixed with basmati exemplifies the discerning quality they deliver - each and every time - whether I dine in or out. September 2015.
