Very nice and clean place and the staff was friendly. We ordered a medium T-bone steak and Chicken Nimbala. The steak came not just well done but overcooked which was very disappointing. Chicken Nimbala was decent. If you want to eat steak I won’t recommend this place.

I generally do not eat out in Derby, due to the lack of quality in food i have experienced historically, as well as service. However I visited this eatery over the weekend,during its most busiest period. We appreciated there would be a wait, however we were happy to wait. On arrival We were welcomed in a great manner, the gentleman was very warming and he also took our order. We admired his enthusiasm he bought to the business, his knowledge regarding the food on the menu was credible. We asked for recommendations etc and did not regret this. The food arrived and we were very impressed with the presentation. We ordered the Hot shot Parmesan, the beef burger, Chicken Pasta, BBQ wings, steak. The food was full of flavor, very appetizing. The wings and the steak were very succulent, mouthwatering. Overall i would rate this establishment a 10 if i could. The service to the food to the decor was impeccable. I would most defiantly be recommending to all Family/Friends and shall no doubt be returning very soon! It most certainly baffles me that Derby has been yearning for a decent place to eat, you get one and all they do is complain about ridiculous things! GIVE SOMEONE A CHANCE FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

First time trying this place and I was pleasantly surprised. The food tasted great. Portion sizes were good. We had the ribs and steak. Had a waffle for dessert- that could have been better. Would come back again and would recommend.

Nice rib eye steak, service was good, however chips size slightly on the small side. All in all a nice meal.

I was out of town visiting friends in derby and was chanced with visiting the opening of this fine establishment The steaks are of a very fine quality I had an Angus rib eye cooked medium and you could definitely taste the quality. The burgers were very nice too could do with some neating on the presentation The owner habib is well informed on obtaining quality supplies The decor is very well done nice spacious seats and windows allowing plenty of light and viewing space and friendly staff I can only think the negative reviews are from fake accounts or someone confusing a steak establishment for a fried chicken shop

Loved this restaurant. Have had their pasta, their burger, and their sizzler so far. Food is brilliant, and great food presentation as well. Very nice and clean place to eat in as well. Went to this place on a whim, and couldn't help but to go again. A halal gem in derby The waiting staff seem really attentive when you walk in, however most of them look new to the role so are yet to master the art of serving. The décor is fresh and well done. First time we went, we got burgers. They were nicely presented and well put together. Taking a bite into the burger we realised it was just average, the patty was a little bland and tough in places. The bun also started to fall apart when you got half way through the burger, likely due the amount of sauce added. The only real complaint about the burger is the onions were not fried, rather they were splashed with oil and put on the burger. A good experience non the less. Day two. Having had a good experience the first day we decided to go and try some actual food this time. We decided to go for steak, expecting the food to be average based on the day before. The service this time was a little slower, maybe because it was a little busier, or we had a table in the corner. Not an issue as the food was served promptly. The steak came, it looked delicious and was pleasantly presented, although I think inspiration was taken from elsewhere. It was cooked just how I asked for it to be, some places often overcook steak, Manzo's is not one of them. Taking a bite, the meat was fresh, and succulent. The side veg and mash was cooked to perfection, simple stuff, but it can be done wrong. The sauces were simply delicious, not too watery or thick - just perfect. The chef knows everything has to be seasoned to make the food taste good, and it was, something that often gets neglected. With everything said, this place is light on your pocket and heavy on flavour. A place you must try if you are in Derby. Got to be 4 stars for now, when the service gets better it will definitely be a 5!

Wow what a classic food .I was always looking for nice place to eat in derby specially to take my family and I must say this is the perfect place to dine out in derby . We were visiting Alton towers and staying in Derby, found this place so paid them a visit, It's okay, nothing special, they are very generous with black peppers on their stakes it was like I've ordered pepper stake and the stake was lost somewhere in the middle I couldn't taste any flavour of the meat just black peppers, was expecting better service then what we received, there was 6 of us but we only got 3 water glasses, asked for bottle water waiter never asked how many we wanted just give us 4 small about 250ml bottles asked if they had 750ml or a ltr size was told they don't do them. Maybe their 🍔 are better but we'll never know.

I would have given 5 star however I requested a specific burger order, then double checked the order with the waiter and the food still came to me incorrect. I asked for it to be corrected and they took the food away, took out what I didn't request and brought it back.....but there were still pieces of food left in that I didn't want. It was sloppily done. The ribs are great. Try them.

Went tonight for the 1st time and this is what Derby has been crying out for. Finally a really well done steak house (pardon the pun). My husband had a fillet steak which was cooked to perfection and I had a burger. The meat is organic and you can taste the quality. Service was very good and a nice, family friendly environment. First off I’d like to start with the decor of the restaurant! It looks very classy and elegant. Moving on to the food... I ordered the BBQ ribs and they were cooked to perfection! One of the best tasting ribs I’ve ever come across! The steak was also 10/10! Great customer service from the team to, considering the restaurant was very very busy! This restaurant has never failed to deliver. The staff are welcoming and the food is just exceptional. Every Sunday we tend to.come here and its always busy and they still provide you with the best service and food that is basically faultless.

Heard good and bad things about this place but had to try it out for myself after seeing a few photo's of the food. So glad we did. The place looks fresh, clean and very modern. But the food is the main point here. Started with Calamari and Lamb chop starters. The Calamari was great, with nice crispy batter. The lamb chops were fantastic. So much flavour and so tender. Then came our main course. We hadn't finished our starters but we didn't mind. Just a little more time for our fabulous looking steaks to rest up a little more. I had the Tomahawk and my wife had the T-bone. Both were spot on. Perfect seasoning, flavour and extremely tender. We both agreed it was the best steak we've ever eaten. Our only negative in this review is the peppercorn sauce and thats the only reason I dont give this place a 5*. It was more of a Chinese curry peppercorn sauce. Really odd flavour so we left it to the side. I really hope they change the peppercorn sauce. We'll definitely be back though

The husband and I went with our 3 young children yesterday. I was pleasantly surprised by how good the food was. I would definitely recommend the mushroom sauce with the steak, it perfectly complimented the steak. The roasted mushrooms on top were a bonus. Also I even asked for paper for my kids to draw on and the manager got some out for them which was nice of him.

We went on opening day to Manzo and were looking forward to the steak and we were not disappointed. We started with the ribs and they were amazing, so succulent and the sauce was to die for. I got the t-bone steak with the creamy sauce and it was cooked perfect to medium-rare. The steak was juicy and filling. Unfortunately we didn't get any dessert as we were so full but we will definitely go back!

I think some people are being spiteful in regards to reviews for their own personal gain!! I mean rating this place one star or below .. for what reason exactly? Oh poor you ? Food got delayed? Maybe book a table in advance next time.. This place was amazing staff were friendly.. the chicken steak I ordered tasted delicious! And the prices were also reasonable. Great food, great atmosphere and great people. From the decor to the plates to the food and most importantly the service was fantastic. I had a tomahawk steak medium rare and it was perfect, accompanied with the Bbq ribs! Wow these ribs are amazing. I don’t really eat beef ribs but these are very different and I’ve not eaten ribs like this before. Definitely recommended. 10/10. Finally derby has a great halal steakhouse that we needed!

Ok we visited manzo twice in a week as we was in derby,and the main reason of going back was my dad. "He said best steak he ever tasted." We had T-bone and tomahawk, And omg it was cooked amazingly and on point.The quality of the meat was great. The service was very good. Saw this place and thought the food looked good, was also recommended it by a few people, after hearing good words I thought I’d try it out and it did not disappoint! The service was first class, I would have been happy with just the starters. Then the steak came and I eat quite a lot of steak but they absolutely nailed it, from a selection of various cuts I chose the sirloin and it was made to perfection, the peppercorn sauce on top was delicious and went well with the meat. In terms of the drinks they had a lovely variety of mocktails or your standard beverages. I went for the pina colada and it was refreshing and a perfect match alongside the food. For dessert I got the ferrero rocher crepe and it was divine, the perfect end to an amazing meal and evening. Will definitely be visiting again.. and again!

Came for a meal at 9.45pm on friday restaurant was still lively and busy at that time, staff were friendly and informative about food selection. We had Bbq Ribs and prawn pil pil for starters and sirloin steak medium and hot shot parmesan and peri peri chicken strips, food was well presented and came out fresh and relatively quick. BBQ ribs were fantastic and very rich but great tasting, prawn pil pil was ok nothing to write home about. The mains were all very good and had lots lovely different flavours and good size portions, we all mixed and matched from each others plates so we could sample all the mains we ordered. Restaurant staff were attentive but not over zealous as that can be annoying when people keep asking you how your food is. I would have given the place 5 stars but didnt as the steak was slightly overcooked from medium, probably closer to medium well. But all in all a great meal and will definitely be coming back soon. For someone who travels all over the place to find good steak and grill places, it’s a welcome relief we finally have one in Derby. Manzos hasn't disappointed us in any way shape or form. We had the combo platter for starters (chicken wings, lamb chops and ribs) which were all grilled and seasoned/marinated perfectly to our liking but let me just say, the ribs were to die for. Simply some of the best ribs I've eaten anywhere. The bones slid out perfectly, meat was so tender and juicy and the bbq sauce on the ribs was unreal. We wanted that sauce just as a side dipping sauce to dip everything into, it was that good (left a suggestion for the future :-D) Really really good cuts of tomahawk and fillet steaks cooked perfectly to medium rare. I found a lot of other places, they struggle to get medium rare right, either too pinky and bloodied or more on the medium side but Manzos got ours perfect, right amount of pink/redness and juicy and seared nicely around the outside. The right balance of tender and chewiness, so thank you for that :-D The service was great, not too fast and not too slow, enough time in between to have conversations and warm the belly up for the next serving :-) the staff are really friendly and attentive and the actual restaurant itself is done up to a very high standard. The price for the food is on par with a lot of similar types of restaurants, so can’t complain here, especially since the quality of the food matched. Not sure what happened with some of the other reviews here but don’t let them stop you from going and making your own judgement. Book a table if you can as it got really busy just after we got there. We will certainly be making this our regular and saving trips going out of town.

Derby has been missing a Halal steakhouse, so this is a welcome opening. Upon entering, the venue has been done well and the decor looks modern. It's a fairly small place for a steakhouse, but seats around 50 people. I arrived on a Thursday evening and it was very busy, which is alwatys a good sign. We were lucky to get a table, so reserving a table would be recommended. The menu isn't too large, which I always find a plus. The main dishes are the BBQ Ribs, which come as a starter and mains, Steaks (as expected), Gourmet Burgers and Chicken Parmesan. They also do a few Pizzas, Pastas and Salads. There wasn't a kids menu, which is a negative for me as I had my daughter with me. Didn't have to wait too long for the food. In fact I was quite surprised at the speed given how busy they were. I went for the BBQ ribs as my starter. The meat came off the one very easily, and was cooked to near perfection. The BBQ cause had a nice kick to it to give it flavour. For the mains, we tried a Sirloin and Rump steak (both medium), Chicken Parmesan, Burger and Peri strips for the daughter. The steaks were cooked perfectly as the meat cut easily, but was still juicy. The peppercorn sauce was different to most other places, but I thoroughly enjoyed the flavour. The Chicken Parmesan was just cooked just right, and the sauce gave it an excellent flavour. The gourmet burger was, again, cooked perfectly and was just about the right size to eat. Manzo's have a selection of drinks available, including the standard Soda's, Mock tails, Milkshakes and more. The flavour in the mock tails were quite strong, which meant I could clearly taste it. They also had a selections of desserts, but were too full to try any of these. Manzo's is a great addition to Derby, and I think I will be a regular to this venue. I would recommend to all who like Steaks and Grilled food to try Manzo's, as it's not too pricy either.

Not a bad steak and decent veggie options for the Mrs. May be worth looking at better cuts of meat as I felt that let it down a bit or would have been 5 stars.
