Wow what an absolutely amazing place to visit i couldnt fault it, food was brilliant service fantastic, staff amazing, i did visit for lunch so it was a quiter time, i do also recommend you book as inside isnt very big. This hidden gem is situated in the cities centre definitely worth a try and great value for money well done guys i was very impressed cant wait for my next visit

Randomly chose to eat here when visiting Derby with my son and his girlfriend, having just moved to Ripley from Brighton and I can honestly say it was the best experience I have ever had in a restaurant in my life! Everything was perfect and could not be faulted in anyway. From the minute we walked in we were so happy we chose to eat lunch here, the decor was amazing and the staff were so attentive, friendly and helpful and the food was just first class. It was top quality and so fresh and tasty. And to top it all it was so reasonably priced with the lunch time offer of two courses for £10. I will definitely be making regular visits to try everything on the menu. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough. You have to eat here if you like Thai food and are in the Derby area. Do not go anywhere else. Thai Boran is simply the best!

I have eaten street and market food all over Thailand for many years and the food here is very authentic and as good as I've had anywhere there. Excellent dinner experience on a Monday evening. The restaurant has an authentic thai atmosphere, the service was amazing and the food tasted delicious. The menu is quite vast and also caters for vegeterians. We ordered a taster set menu for 2 which included a sharing selection of appetizers, soup as well as an abundant main dish consisting of 3 different tasty plates with rice and noodles on the side. The ingredients tasted fresh and were well cooked. Additionally, the service was very good and the staff are friendly, kind and welcoming.

I found this restaurant by accident on the Google map as my husband and I just moved into the area. Food very authentic, not western style. Price is reasonable. A portion is just right. Staff is very friendly and the decoration is very Thai style. That makes me remind of my home country. The location is in the centre of Derby and the car parking is nearby (Peter Quarter). I definitely go back there again

This is a hidden gem. I am a big Thai food lover, and after having tried most of the Thai restaurants in Nottinghamshire, I can confidently say this is the best one. The inner decor has recently been revamped, and I am very impressed with what I have seen. Superb food and superb service.

Loved the food in this place, well priced too. There were 3 different options (£16 for the vegetarian set option, £23 for a meat set option and one other fairly priced too). Both were amazing and there was plenty to eat (we couldnt finish all the meat option that came with 4 mains, on top of the mixed platter and a soup). The atmosphere was great (seriously the decor is great, there is even a full sized rickshaw in there) with a very polite and prompt service. The waiter made sure we were happy with everything often. Highly recommended for a Thai resteraunt in Derby! P.S they also do discounted sets from Monday to Thurs. Just pick from their varied menu (£8 for a 2 piece meal and £12 for a 3 piece).

The staff are very friendly and more than happy to advise on dishes, although a couple of staff members do find English hard to understand if you start quizzing them. Friendly Thai staff (I think it is a family run business), and great food at a good price. Would recommend pad Thai for quick meals, and it's not spicy so anyone can have that. There is a lunch deal for 2 courses for around 10 £ which is decent. Some curries (i tried green) may be quite hot for western people, their spiciness ratings on their menu is not the same as, say, las iguanas. The 2/3 Thai level of spice is already quite hot.

4 * I have been eating there almost every alternate weekend. Good food. The options under lunch deals, though limited, are great. I liked the ambience and the decor they have made inside. Give a nice cosy feel. Service is somewhat on a slower side, wouldn't complain about it though. Thai green curry chicken is my fav here. EDIT: Been here again on 9 Dec, for lunch. Had a very poor experience. The waiter didnt understand what we ordered it seems, spicy stir fried tofu had pieces of pineapple in it. Hardly there were 2 pieces of tofu present in the dish and the overall portion size was also smaller than usual. Ordered the chicken green curry, which was very much watered down and bland on taste and this time just 2 small pieces of chicken. Overall the portion sizes have been dwindling over our past few visits. Now, if that's the way you treat your regular customers, taken for granted, you just lost 2 customers. I dont think we are going there again in near future. -2 stars from the previous rating. EDIT: 2019-04-10: The food quality has seemed to gotten better now, back to previous standards. But the low food quantity still remains an issue. It is never a standard portion size they serve. And the size seems to grow smaller by every visit.

Thai Boran is the best Thai restaurant in the whole world I think. Their vegetarian Mock Duck curry is Perfect and Vegetarian Massaman curry and Satay sauce is the best. It’s a hidden jewel in Derby.

My only negative comment would be that all of the main courses didn't arrive at the same time so some people were left waiting while others started eating.
