Had an amazing Sunday roast here! The lamb was delicious. Super big portions, couldn’t eat it all but could not fault any of it. Also the halloumi and watermelon to start was surprisingly really tasty, and so was the jackfruit (spicy!) small and cosy restaurant with very friendly staff :-). Definitely going to come back for another meal! 100% would recommend.

Went out for our 5th wedding anniversary and can honestly say wow!! There was a card for us waiting on the table which was a nice touch. The cocktails were fantastic, we has the Gin bramble and spiced mojito. Full of flavour and very refreshing. The food arrived and was next level good. On point starters - the scallops were great and the cauliflower wings were unreal. I am a meat eater, but damn I could eat these time and again. Never before has cauliflower tasted this good. The steak was perfect, nice and pink with equally good chips etc. Didn't have a starter as we only had a few hours child free. Will defo be going back. (Just need a baby sitter!!)

We had an amazing meal tonight for my birthday. I was surprised they took an effort to write a card and it was a very nice gesture making me feel special! The food was WOW! From starter to dessert it was all spot on and very good. The service was also amazing, staff are very accommodating and friendly. The ambiance was also very nice and the food were served very quick, it’s also reasonably priced. We would definitely come back again. I highly recommend this place! 👍🏻👌

Celebrated our daughter’s birthday and her partners exam success at The Dining Room last night; could not have chosen a better venue. The food was absolutely delicious and so beautifully presented. I had the grilled watermelon and halloumi as a starter followed by the catch of the day, which was sea bass. My husband had steak, which he said was ‘cooked to perfection’ and the young ones both had the belly pork. The experience was enhanced by the two lovely young women who served us with a smile, even when we knocked molten candle wax all over the table. Can not recommend enough !!!! Spent an evening at the dining room with some colleagues earlier this week and found the whole experience to be fab!! Wow, the food here was simply incredible. Everything we ate we really enjoyed. The Lamb was the best lamb I have ever eaten, I would strongly recommend it to anyone. The service right from when I booked the table to when we said goodbye was superb. Attentive but not intrusive, very friendly and approachable. It has a lovely cosy atmosphere with a sophisticated edge. If you haven't been to the dining room yet I would strongly reccomended you do. It isn't the biggest of places so make sure to book to make sure you get a table. Certainly will be returning.

Superb restaurant, brilliant staff who were so accommodating for my Dad's 60th birthday. Provided high chair for my baby and made my Dad's birthday extra special, even giving him a birthday card from the restaurant! The food was lovely and presented beautifully all the while we enjoyed the atmosphere in the restaurant, will definitely be going back again.

As many have already mentioned the first and foremost reason to visit The Dining Room is for the atmosphere which is wonderful, cozy, and quaint. The very next reason is the quality of the food which is superb and hard to beat within Derby. (For those unaware and perhaps still cautious about social distancing the restaurants main dining area is quite small but we felt there was adequate distance between tables)

The restaurant was warm with soft music playing, the staff especially Ben, were attentive without being intrusive. Everyone enjoyed their food, perhaps the beef could have been cooked slightly more, but that is a matter of opinion. The vegetables were cooked to perfection and there was plenty. The whole experience was wonderful and we plan to return soon. This place is definitely worth trying for Sunday lunch and I will recommend it.

Really enjoyed the selection of small plates, everything was delicious and beautifully presented. The arancini were generous. Lovely flavour combinations. Possibly a little on the salty side so a bit of naughty but nice, a second bottle of sparkling water helped. Loving the Eat Out scheme which made my night out a bargain.

Really, a great new restaurant in Derby. They use fresh ingredients for their meals so taste wise (with the meals I had), tasted soo good. Well balanced, flavourful food, not too complex just a chef who appreciates good produce and knows how to cook it well. The vibe of this place was great. Real chilled, relaxed andcontemporary place. Quite minimalistic but rightly decorative. Nice chilled music with kind, welcoming polite staff to match the vibe. I had the scallops for the entree which were amazing and cooked perfectly, i'd only request to have 3 to 4 scallops rather than 2 for the price. My gf had the paté and that was delicious. Mains I had the lamb. Obviously fresh and great quality and perfectly cooked medium rare. Again, another chop would have been appreciated but the flavours and presentation was spot on. My gf had the pork and that The was delicious. Perfectly cooked, moist and crackling was perfect but again just a touch larger portion would of been better. Dessert for me was the winner. The panacotta was epic. Ingredients complemented eachother perfectly and a decent size portion. Wine was great which was poured into a proper wine decanter. Overall, despite portion size, this restaurant is amazing. Worth taking a visit and worth the revisit.
