Wow. What a gem of a place. Dropped in on the off chance for breakfast and although they were busy they were able to get us a table.
It’s not the cheapest but you get what you pay for. I had the large full English and it was large (see photo) locally sourced meats and good helping of beans etc. so well worth the money.
I would recommend booking if you would like to visit. Between 1000 and 1200 is their busiest time.

Brilliant! First time here visiting for a late breakfast/brunch. Great menu had mouth watering choices from big breakfast to stacked bagle. Small and cosy restaurant area nicely laid out with a warm feel. Plenty of cakes on show, too.
Ordered the big breakfast and coffee, posh toast with halloumi and bacon and eggs royale (not all for one person) and a pot of t 4 2.
Really nice breakfast. Bacon a little crispy in places but 99% enjoyable. Looked on envious at the other meals as I tucked into my locally sourced ingredients breakfast.
Outdoor seating area at back with the best patio heaters I've experienced in a long time. Friendly dog and service staff.
Great little restaurant for meals all through the day.

Ordered a takeaway eggs Benedict and eggs royale on a Sunday morning and it did not disappoint! Rang up to order and they sounded so busy on the phone but still managed to get our food done in time to collect. It was so tasty! And big portions. Can’t wait to book to sit in and have breakfast. The man on the phone was super friendly and polite. Would recommend!

So, so impressed with the gluten free offering! As a coeliac it can be scary trying new places, but I visited here for the first time today for a friend's baby shower and I couldn't have been more happy with the food, service, staff, presentation and price. If I could give more than five stars I absolutely would. Will definitely be returning again to try more of the menu, by far the best GF afternoon tea I have ever had and the normal options looked incredible too. Staff were so friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Everything was such a high quality, 11/10. Black slates are GF, round dish was the normal GF AT.

The little kitchen is my favourite place in Derbyshire.
The atmosphere, food, and friendly staff make it so personal and relaxing.
Frequently visit, the breakfasts are amazing.
And drinks in the garden in summer are a must 🥂

Called in for breakfast this morning and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Great service with the added benefit of it being friendly. The produce for the breakfast we have was of a very high standard and the portion sizes were perfect. Will definitely come back for breakfast.
M. R.
Fantastic food - a delicious veggie breakfast! Also a very generous plate of food. Will definitely visit again.

Went this morning to treat my parents. Food, service and decor were all great, would 100% recommend this place to anyone close by looking for that perfect breakfast/brunch spot. We were all so full from the food but couldn’t resist the cakes so got some to take away for later in the day which was also amazing.
K. C.
What a fantastic place to eat!! The staff are lovely and made our family feel so welcome. The decor is cosy & welcoming. The breakfast is the best I’ve ever had! absolute perfection.
We will certainly be calling in again.
Thank you for having us x

Absolutely amazing all you can eat and drink brunch. Wasn't a brunch as such. But we had plenty of pizza and fries and the drinks were constantly refilled! Absolute gem of a place and the staff are always very friendly and helpful.

Just wanted to add a line to the great reviews of Little Eatons Little Kitchen regarding the external catering side of the business. Have used them several times now to provide various different options for events. These ranged from basic option of cold sandwiches, wraps, various fillings all delicious and fresh, pork pies etc, to a warm food buffet, amazing cakes etc. The food quality is brilliant, the choice and prices adaptable and reasonable and the personalised service and attention to detail unrivalled, Thanks Little Kitchen
s. b.
Great little cafe foods amazing well presented and generous portions. Nice courtyard out the back with comfy seats gazebo blankets and heaters. Staff friendly and nothings to much trouble.
M. H.
Very good breakfast, made with tasty and decent quality ingredients. We ordered different breakfast choices from the menu (not intentionally) and each meal was a generous size and thoroughly enjoyed.

Cerys and her colleague did a fantastic job of organising the food at my son's party at Victoria Park Leisure Centre.
We had 24 kids to feed and they all enjoyed their pizza and chips. The food arrived promptly. The girls had to go up and down 2 floors from the kitchen to the party room bringing us extra squash when we ran out etc. They provided both cupcakes for the kids to eat at the party and a lovely large cake personalised for our son. We had forgotten to bring candles so they very kindly provided a sparkler! Nothing was too much trouble. The cakes in the cafe downstairs looked amazing too but we didn't get a chance to try them this time!
Thank you very much! We would highly recommend.

Very pleasant had to wait a while and it came out a little less than hot but it was rather busy. On the whole though nice enough breakfast and generally good experience, worth a visit if you've not already been.

Went today for the first time to eat. (We had been earlier in the summer for coffee and had promised to return for a meal.) Lunch today was plentiful and delicious. We bought a slice of the lotus tiffin 'to go' as we were too full to eat it there and then. We should have bought a slice each! It was divine. Highly recommended. Will be back.
M. W.
It was amazing, great food, great service and amazing staff
R. W.
Had an all day breakfast, lovely, all the family ate,
First time we've been as we live in Plymouth, was up here for football,
Well priced, all cooked brilliantly, friendly service
No complaints at all

B. P.
Loved our time there...arrived early for our booking as a large slightly chaotic group with 3 tiny children and were made to feel SO welcome!Eggs Benedict were "The best I've ever tasted"to Sharon, and we loved our huge and delicious home-made quiche, all preceded with delish cappuccinos...tha kyou so much.Home from home (and none of the washing up!)
M. S.
First coffee house I been to in 3 months! The good, friendly staff and great cakes. The bad, terrible coffee, my flat white was closer to latte. I may be being a bit harsh as been waiting 3 months for a good flat white and anything less than perfection was going to be a disappointment.
R. G.
Went for Breakfast, lots too choose from we had two small breakfast, my god was fantastic! Would highly recommend food & all staff 10 out of 10
A. M.

Always a good welcome and the staff are great, reasonably priced. Thanks for serving all our cyclists on Sunday. Cheers. Been several times since, always good service and they let you park the cycles round the back if there is room. Thanks again.

G. G.
Absolutely a great place to go to for lunch they can't do enough for going back again on Sunday for lunch
R. B.
This shop is always good for getting that last minute special greetings card or wrapping paper. Good range of magazines and newspapers too.
They also now have a really nice little cafe attached to the shop (the little kitchen i think it's called). Had lunch there a few months ago... simple but delicious and well presented. Nice place to be, although Baby Bump and i did struggle to manoeuvre between tables ;). Great to have a coffee shop in the town now!
C. P.
The best night I've had in a very long time! What an absolute little gem of a place! We had been for breakfast here and thought it was amazing but then lockdown hit. We booked tonight for an evening meal and it exceeded our expectations to say the least! We thought we'd just have food and leave but got swept up in the amazing live music and good quality drinks so didnt order food until last minute but that wasnt a problem for them. We didn't feel rushed to leave and the rules around Covid were simple and clear. The place is so tastefully decorated and super quaint. All the staff were extremely welcoming, attentive and a real good laugh (which can't be said for a lot of places!). Now for the food - I'm trying to lose abit of timber so I ordered a salad but, oh my lord, was it beautiful!!! Well I did have dirty fries on the side and they were heaven! My partner had a kebab that he said was so fresh and delicious - apparently better than I'll ever cook 🙄😂. I actually felt emotional being there - I felt like part of a family who want you to be there and want you to come back. Massive well done Little Kitchen - you've done yourselves proud and you've come out of this pandemic stronger and better than ever!! We'll be back, would you have guessed...😍😁
S. W.
Great service, lovely staff, tasty food, well priced. We will be back !
S. N.
Great little cafe! Have called in here on many occasions, always friendly staff and great quality food. We enjoyed some of the afternoon tea platters delivered to our door during the covid 19 lockdown which were a delicious treat. Cater well for children too and are happy to make them smaller versions of the menu dishes or something not on the menu.
S. B.
Lovely atmosphere. Friendly staff. Delicious food. All you need
L.
Just dropped by for lunch, reasonable veggie options, one of tasteiest pannnis I've eaten, the coffee, although not to my high snobbish standards was pretty good,
Will return if in area again.
Get out and support these independent businesses.
L. M.
We had a lovely lunch, home made pizza fresh from the oven we even watched it being prepared and cooked sitting outside,we also had to try the yummy cake, look forward to visiting again ...
M. B.
Fresh tasty food and lovely coffee. Friendly staff. Just sad to see some staff not wearing their masks properly and pulling it down to talk to customers. 2 customers walked in no masks on.Not as covid safe as we would have liked sadly.
A. H.
The Little Kitchen is a great cafe incorporated into the newsagents. There’s always a warm welcome and something different on the menu. Inventive, delicious food, it feels like you’ve stepped into Donna or Wendy’s home for them to rustle you something up. Relaxed, friendly and compact. If only visitors to Starbucks and the Garden Centre drove half a mile further into the village, they’d love this hidden gem.
D. C.
Visited today and this place is great. Little place with big portion sizes (if required). Very friendly and helpful, and they worked around our dietary needs. Will defo be visiting again. Ty to Amy (sorry if I got the name wrong) who was a fantastic and gracious waitress.
A. V.
Fabulous cafe, with great service and delicious plates of food.

We visited here this evening for the start of my daughters 14th birthday celebrations. All the staff were wonderful in helping to make her evening special. They all went out of their way to wish her a happy birthday and ask her about her day. They put candles on her cake and went above and beyond to make her feel lovely.
The food (we had pizza's, garlic flatbread, dirty fries and greek salad) was absolutely delicious. The portions are huge and we ended up with loads of food left over which they happily boxed up for us to take home. We are over the moon this great little place is right on our doorstep.
M.

This is the first time at a restaurant where I've felt at home, all thanks to the warm and friendly staff and owners (Dave and Donna). I love the rustic interior; the fact that Dave noticed when I was trying to move the umbrella that was in the way and came over to help, the vibe where it felt like everyone knows everyone, Daisy the dog, and the food! Very flavoursome and well-seasoned (though the Mexican burger pattie was a bit salty in parts). They also came out with a candle and sang happy birthday to me which was really nice! What a way to start the birthday weekend. Will definitely be back.
C. G.
Called by here on a Sunday morning, was just OK, we were seated by the door. As the place is quite small it was quite noisy and not very relaxing!
d. w.
Great service ,breakfast was the best
H. W.
Absolutely great food and surroundings. We sat outside in a lovely courtyard.
L. C.
Great food and suroundings but not cheap
R. E.
Excellent tea room /cafe with friendly staff. I chose it as a half way meeting place and was very pleasantly surprised and delighted with my choice. We didn't eat this time as my chum was dieting; just had a couple of lattes and two 'pots of tea for one'. Good value at £8 total. The menu choice, whilst not vast, looked great and provides something for all tastes, however eclectic! Ditto for the ready made sandwiches & rolls. For me this is a happy find and I will be pleased to repeat the experience - and I do intend to try the food next time
P. J.
Really great service and very nice food
H. L.
My daughter Fiona ordered a takeaway afternoon tea which was delivered to her house for my birthday today and it was absolutely delicious. All the treats were lovely and well presented. The sandwiches were nice and fresh and the scones were scrumptious, along with the raspberry jam, which happens to be my favourite. We had so much in the box and I would recommend anyone to order one but don't have lunch or be like us and have it at lunch time. Yummy!
G. T.
Had a large breakfast it was yummy Defo going back again thanks
C. S.
Went for the first time abt amount ago. Food very good. Went yesterday and food not so good also different staff. Pre cooked bacon on the side when reearmed was tough. Husband had full breakfast. Egg hard and edges crispy. Beans with tin tomatoes all run in together. Such a shame seems like a really good cafe but put off going again.
J. C.

T. A.
What a little gem!!
We had afternoon tea, (20 of us for a school reunion), and the service was excellent.
Parking is allowed in the Queen's Head car park just across the road.
The staff here are so friendly, attentive, approachable, efficient and very hard working.
The food is not your usual dried up sarnies, they're beautiful ly displayed on a lazy Susan, with speciality pork pies, sausage rolls, scotch eggs, olives, wasabi nuts, vine tomatoes, cheese straws, dip and lots more that I can't remember 😊👍🏻
Then, the beautiful, (what tasted like, home baked), scones with jam and cream, and cakes appeared on a slate platter.
There were big slices of Victoria sponge, chocolate cake and much more!
The tea, coffee and milk is constantly refreshed so you're never without a drink for long.
There is a wine bar, after 6pm I think, if you want alcohol.
Also, there's a lovely comfy seating area outside when the weather's good.
Beautiful little boxes were supplied to take home any leftovers, and there were plenty of those because you're given so much food!
It's well worth the £15pp we paid and I will definitely be telling all my friends about this fabulous little place.
(Vegan and GF are priced at £20pp)
I've added pics but we'd already demolished the cake platter!
You can still see some of the lovely cakes though.
This beautiful little place is so cosy and welcoming, it was like home from home.
We loved it 😊
