Standard estate pub. Bar is full of foul mouthed yobs, which I actually find quite a pleasant change as it's how pubs really should be (possibly not at 2pm on a Monday lunch time but hey ho!). Lounge is suitably protected from the noise of the bar and is for families eating. Again bog standard pub grub,boiled in bags, microwaved or chucked on a grill, but perfectly edible.

Been here a few times now, lovely pub and staff friendly and attentive. Food is great tasting and really good quality, family have had different each time We've visited and all have been equally as good and great value and much better then other similar establishments in the area. Childrens menus are great and same consideration given to them as well as the adults. Would maybe be nice to have a children's play area but hasn't deterred us from retuning.

Regularly go here for drinks and food. Good menu which is updated regularly. Good atmosphere and family friendly. There are two areas of the pub, the restaurant and bar which is adults only. Haven't been in the bar for a couple of years but had some good times in there. Has recently gone through refurbishment so is slightly updated.

Absolutely amazing. I cannot fault this establishment- we have visited the pub quiz this evening & the staff were very much tuned in to ensure we (as locals) were having fun. The food is at a top standard & to the best quality. This is one of the chain of 'Sizzler' pub/restaurants. After visiting the one nearest to us at Stapleford,which we won't ever do again,after cold undercooked foo),we thought we'd try this one in Oakwood. Ordered a sweet potato lentil n spinach Dhansak.It said it was supposed to be served with mango chutney,this never even arrived at my table. On the 2 for £8:50 menu. This was firstly a very small portion for an adult,(didn't want kids portions). And sorry to say was served to our table at best 'Luke warm'.. Was looking forward to a nice hot meal,sadly we didn't get one, me or my partner. She had a Minced beef and ale pie with mashed potato and peas in gravy. Mashed potato was like hard on one side pie was hot,peas ok but again the whole meal again sadly luke warm. When we as the general public go to work and work long hrs we don't expect to spend our hard earned wages on like warm meals when we decide to eat out. I had to wait for a nice older lady behind the bar to shout at another staff member as customers were waiting myself included whilstvya just stood chatting to someone in the other bar. Terrible customer services. Its no wonder people don't go back. I read similar reviews about cold food. It was 4 degrees outside and all we wanted was hot piping food to warm us both up on our journey home. It's not too much to ask is it? But it seems sadly it his too much.. I heard comments on other tables near us to coinciding with our own thoughts. I always review wherever I eat out at,to give people our honest opinion of what happened. Quite a few things need to be changed. I don't like to 'put down' anyone if I can help it,but feel I should air my views to warn others.

Brilliant local pub, I'm a regular covid measures are all in place for anyone who may be hesitant. Only thing I would like to really mention is the waitress (who was lovely btw), looked shattered.

Very attractive pub and restaurant which has recently had a major refurb. I ordered the classic mixed grill with 9oz Rib eye, sweet potato fries and peppercorn sauce. It was brilliantly presented on a sizzling skillet and cooked to perfection. I wasnt going to go for a desert but the Rolo Cheesecake was delish! I would certainly recommend this pub and restaurant to anybody who wishes to dine out at a very reasonable price.

Friendly service unfortunately i asked for a medium rare black and blue steak but came out more medium well luckily i'm not over fussy plus tasted good . At the bottom of curly fries was a chicken nugget . Be careful guys i was not a mystery customer. All foh staff were fantastic espec lady who served the food i had a free drink even tho said i cud av a pud( too full ) . hopefully next time i come i will give you a five star but if not i won't be happy. I Moved to Oakwood in Jan 2015 to care for my aged father.I love my real ale and good food, I was a chef all my working life, and really can't fault our local pub. The staff are friendly and always helpful, and best of all, the beer is carefully looked after by our managerial staff.In short, its the best pub locally, please try it!

Been in this pub any times over the years. We stopped going for meals, not because of the food or drinks which are quite nice. It's the manageress and one of the waitress a little woman who we find awful, we will not be going back there while there are still there. Mind you over the years they have got through managers like Derby County

This is a great local pub. The breakfasts are delicious and the whole menu is reasonably priced for the quality of the food. Probably my favourite "chain" pub.

This place may have had a make over but nothing else has changed. The tables were still covered in used crockery, cutlery and glasses and in need of a wipe. The toilets were no better, with hair in the sinks and toilet paper over the floor.

Visited the other day, food was average and staff were fairly attentive although they let us order then reminded us only straight after we only had 45mins to leave as under 18s were not allowed in pub after 9pm (despite the fact we'd come with our kids into the restaurant end and not the drinkers bar) so a bit disappointed, dnt knw many other pubs that enforce this rule in the eating end of a pub
