Went on a Friday night and cannot recommend highly enough. Service was brilliant and brought with a genuine smile and pride in what they deliver. Really enjoyed all of the dishes, nice drinks and friendly staff. There's a good range of things to choose from on the menu, staff happy to help as needed. It was all brought out speedily, tasted great and looked good too 😄 Pricing as expected for tapas restaurant - £5-7 per dish depending on cooking style and main ingredients with plenty of vegetarian, meat and fish options.

Came to this bar/restaurant with a couple of friends after Google recommendations. The staff were pleasant and attentive throughout our visit. The menu was quite large so in the end we all went with the buffet option- I would highly recommend this for value. Our food was well presented, good quality and decent portion sizes (as well as receiving a few extra free sides in between our buffet orders). When we visited it was not very busy so I can only assume the service remains this high when it is busier. If you are near Bawtry I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Called in on a Monday evening. Wow…… the restaurant is immaculate, service was really first class, very pleasant waiters. The tapas was extremely good, great offer on a Monday evening. I tried the liver purely on the waiters recommendation and it was by far the best liver I have tasted, great recommendation. It’s a gem of a restaurant. Well done.

we came on bank holiday Sunday for the all you can eat tapas and it was amazing!!! Can’t believe lived here for over 3 years and only just found this gem of a place! We pray that they never close and also that they don’t stop the all you can eat tapas as it was amazing and will keep us coming back there! The food and the service and cleanliness was spot on better than anywhere in bawtry! Everywhere was so clean and had particions up between tables too! Friendly staff and all the dishes were cooked fresh, arrived timely and were hot and delicious! Definitely will be returning, can’t wait 😊

We visited on a Monday Night, restaurant clean and well presented. We had the all you can eat tapas and there was lots of choice! All the tapas we ordered arrived fresh and hot - and we definitely got our moneys worth. The only downfall would be the staff. Although they kept up with cleaning tables and taking orders, I feel that they were quite rude and unfriendly, as if they didn’t like their job. Overall 3/5

El Toro is a nice little restuarant that is easy to find in Bawtry. On our visit it felt a little like the front of house department was understaffed for the day (Bawtry had its Christmas market and it was very busy). When we booked the buffet we did so as it had a variety of Gluten free options. On the morning of the booking we received a call stating that the buffet wasn't on however we could have the normal or festive set menus. We enquired about the variety of Gluten free options on these and were assured there were still plenty. When we arrived we were solely offered the festive set menu which was fine with us - however the options for the starter were just garlic bread or garlic bread with cheese and churros for dessert. We were told we could pick something gluten free from the normal menu instead as they didn't do gluten free garlic bread. Additionally we were told that we would be informed of the gluten free choices when ordering dessert too. I picked chorizo for my starter and when it came it was lovely. All the food was great and the time it arrived was super quick to say how busy they were. The only delays we seemed to face were because the front of house staff seemed to be struggling to get to all of the tables with only 3 of them on, and not for lack of trying on their part. We had to wait quite a while to order our dessert and after asking what the gluten free options were we had to wait a further 15 minutes for someone to tell us what they were. When the waiter did tell us the choice - which was vanilla ice cream - I said that's fine thank you and she said it's ready now they've already done it for you (I'm assuming that vanilla ice cream was THE ONLY choice) . When the bill came we had been charged for 2 festive set menus as well as an additional chorizo starter. When I queried this I was told that I shouldn't have been allowed to have that starter as it's not included. When I said I wasn't informed that there was specific things I could and couldn't have and was led to believe that it was just a straight swap I was told "just leave it we have taken it off the bill for you" whilst I think this abrupt reply may have been more to do with language barrier than anything else I do think that there should be a set practise in place for dealing with menu ammendments for dietary requirements and clearer communication between the waiting staff. If I had been given a narrowed down choice of alternative gluten free options I wouldn't have questioned this selection and have chosen something happily. To expect a customer to pay extra without giving them the heads up in the first place and then charging them for a starter from the set menu they didn't have in the first place is a bit cheeky, I kind of felt like I was being led to feel like the mishap was my own fault. I do feel like if the restaurant had been quieter then hopefully the mistakes wouldn't have happened, although a set procedure for FOH would eradicate any confusion in the future.

First visit for a friend's birthday. Food was amazing and we all ate from the £24.95 each menu but was well worth it with 9 different dishes. We ordered extra bread and wished we hadn't as once the food started coming we thought it would never stop. The standard of food was excellent and service was good. Drinks a little pricey but plenty of bars nearby. Would definitely go again.

Visited on a Sunday evening. Over 30 tapas dishes to choose from. Between the four us we sampled the vast majority. None dissapointed. The service was fast and friendly. We were seated upstairs in a nice roomy booth. The room itself was bright and airy. All our dishes were very flavoursome and delicious. The portions were more than adequate.

A great tapas restaurant hidden down an alleyway. Called in on Good Friday just at it opened. Was met with a warm friendly greeting. Ambience: modelled on Spanish bars with modest, unobtrusive decoration. I found the ambience pleasant and suited to the style of the restaurant. Food: we order three plates each, and the tenderness of the meat was mouthwateringly good. The vegetables were tasty too. Service: quick, friendly service. Price: reasonably for the quality of the food, service and ambience. Return visit: yes, I will be coming back

My wife and I visited here a couple of Sundays ago. We arrived at about 8pm and were told the kitchen would close at just after 9. So, we ordered our first set of tapas dishes (only 2 each to start - most places seem to allow 3 on the first round) and we waited. And waited. And waited. The 'complimentary bread and olives on arrival' never arrived. While I appreciate that all dishes are cooked to order, a wait of 20 minutes seemed a little excessive, especially as there were not that many people eating at the time. We managed to order another couple of dishes, and these were a little quicker to arrive, but by the time we were finishing, it was getting close to 9. We asked if we could order again and the manager came to begrudgingly take the order, and didn't seem very pleased at all. In the end, we ended up rushing and this kind of spoilt the evening. Food quality was very good - some portions perhaps a little bigger than one would normally expect for a tapa. The staff were very friendly (except when the manager took our last order) but didn't really seem to know much about the dishes when ordering or what they were called when they arrived - "this is your chicken thingy..." All in all - good food, but let down by very slow service.

Lovely place and will be returning, the food always makes or breaks a place but I think the right combo of good food and good staff well then you've got it cracked and this place has, friendly helpful and couldnt do enough for us. Will be ordering the full Tapas menu on return for sure and believe me you it's alot but you can take it home winner winner chicken diner, prices very reasonable and portions sizes even better. A new Spanish Tapas restaurant. Service was a bit slow ( seated upstairs - so maybe further away from the kitchen) Food was nice but not piping hot - lamb chops only lukewarm. It was busy and the waiting staff were attentive. We would go back purely as it was very reasonable and offered something different from the norm.

What a hidden gem, such a lovely place with great welcoming staff. I visit here regularly at least twice a month and every visit I try something new and different. The food is always so fresh the waiters know the menu inside out and can always help make recommendations. The prawns and the paella are personal favourites but by far my favourite are the lamb chops ! (I always order two portions) The Amstel is always nice and cold and the rioja is my favourite on the menu. Great for all group sizes, I regularly take my 1 year old here just him and I. Very child friendly and any menu changes are always done without a fuss. I recommend everyone to go. But dont tell too many people that I cannot get a table. Great guys 👌👍

The all you can eat menu looked great value, we opted to just share some between 3 of us because we weren't that hungry. Patatas bravas were delicious, aswell as the olives and jamon croquetas. Squid was ok, not as good as I've had in other tapas places though. Would definately visit again when in the area!

Very busy restaurant with two floors of packed tables, reasonable sized menu for a tapas restaurant but fairly pricey. There are other tapas restaurants around with similar menus at lower prices for better quality of food and service, though admittedly not in Bawtry. Service was slow and erroneous, but got there in the end, though the actual staff seemed happy and eager to please, perhaps they are just under staffed and can't cope with the demand. The fact that it was packed leads me to believe that either there is nowhere else nearby so people have no choice but to go here, Or, I have no idea about tapas and you should ignore what I've written and see for yourself. Menu suggests ordering three tapas per person and sharing with all on your table. This will cost you circa £20/head Plus any starters or deserts and drinks. All well and good until you have to call at Mcdonalds on the way home as you are still hungry! 🤔

First time visit to El Toro and it won't be the last. Portion sizes are larger than normal for a Tapas and represent good value for money. Meatballs were well made in a delicately spiced salsa, whitebait cooked to perfection, paella ( meat version) reasonably good ( chicken slightly overcooked) but tasty. Churros excellent, £45.00 for 2 with drinks and coffee, good value for money, can't wait to go back and work our way through the menu. Worth seeking out as it is tucked away down a passage. Thoroughly recommend.
